  1. The story mode is long enough to capture the attention of most young gamers, and for the ambitious players, there are some secondary collection quests to explore.
  2. Core gamers shouldn't even near this title; however, those looking for a light summer game for their kids could give it a try.

Shrek Forever After has become an amusing game after all. The game is too short and won't leave much of an impact, causing you to forget about it almost instantly.
  4. A good action game with a straight and easy gameplay, suitable for the whole family.
  5. Shrek: Forever After - The Game is, with no shadow of doubt, a title for all the young Shrek fans out there. However, it delivers a solid gameplay and some nice graphics that make it feel enjoyable by adult gamers as well.
  6. Another decent familiy tie-in from Activision, maybe not quite enjoyable as Kung-Fu Panda or Ice Age, but still entertaining for a childish audience. Best if played in co-op with 2-4 other people, the lack of an online mode is really a shame.

The game is hamstrung by long, dull stretches. [Aug 2010, p.79]
  8. A surprisingly decent movie tie-in with a fun four-player mode that will amuse players of any age.
  9. A fairly decent movie licensed game that's marred by its short length, boring combat and lack of replayability.
  10. It is a family oriented action game that sticks to the mold of the genre from beginning to end. The younger gamers will thoroughly enjoy the adventure and older gamers won't be completely annoyed by having to either watch or play along.
  11. Overall, I think it's a decent enough family title from Activision, but not quite as enjoyable as the last one I played from this Publisher, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
  12. This is a typical movie tie in game, a line we've written so many times by now it's getting old fast. Repetitive gameplay mechanics, unimpressive presentation, lack of interesting details and overall polish are just some of the flaws to be found. It's an average game in every way and is therefore rewarded with a grade to match.
  13. Tedious, mediocre. Only die-hard Shrek fans need bother.
