Oct 17, 2012Dragon Ball Z for Kinect proved to be surprisingly impressive. Graphically it really pulls off the anime to video game jump, and the gameplay matches well by allowing you to play through the original storyline.
-
Oct 22, 2012DBZ for Kinect is far more likely to appeal to a young and enthusiastic audience as opposed to an average gamer, or one who is used to the depth of a typical DBZ game.
-
Dec 7, 2012The bottom line is that if you are a Dragon Ball Z fan, this is probably going to be a good value for you to play through all the characters, watch the movie, and try to get the additional QR codes for added fun. If you're looking for a good fighting game on Kinect, this one might leaving you feeling a little defeated.
-
X-ONE Magazine UKDec 6, 2012The control system completely alters the game. This might disappoint fans, but we prefer it. [Issue#92, p.86]
-
Oct 19, 2012There's no doubt hat the intentions behind Dragon Ball Z for Kinect were good, but once again it feels as if the Kinect camera's lack of precision has been an obstacle for the developers.
-
Oct 14, 2012A double sided game: while the combat system is immediate and easily approachable by every kind of gamer, other elements like the lack of local multiplayer and bad storytelling in the story mode steer it away from the casual players, the natural target for a Kinect game.
-
Oct 11, 2012There is one thing this game can be proud of: it works! Your movements are almost always correctly registered. And lets be honest, shouting Kamehameha at your TV and seeing it happening in game is awesome. This game lacks content however. A few fights in the single player is all you have to look forward to. After a couple of hours you are done with it.
-
Oct 4, 2012The only great thing for DBZ fans is the brand new anime episode, but that's not enough to satisfy the players.
-
Oct 11, 2012This Kinect offering works well enough, but Teen rating aside, it's best suited for younger fans looking to live out their anime daydreams.
-
Oct 5, 2012Imitate Kakarot and friends in a game has no price. But Kinect gets to ruin the experience in a simple game that also lacks in content. Good for children. Bad for anyone else.
-
Nov 4, 2012The game has a fantastic look and a ton of content for those who love Dragon Ball Z. In the end I think fans of the series may overlook the game's deficiencies, but casual fans that have a Kinect may want to walk right on by this one.

Official Xbox Magazine UKFeb 27, 2013Far from being a knockout. [March 2013, p.87]
-
Nov 1, 2012Yet another unsatisfying Dragon Ball Z iteration which on paper looks extremely promising, but in action falls surprisingly short.
-
Oct 22, 2012A fighting game without multiplayer or storytelling that makes sense without reading 42 mangas can't be seen as an finished product and should definitely not be sold for full price. This game is only for fans.
-
Oct 12, 2012With Dragon Ball Z Kinect, Bandai Namco Games could have revolutionized the fighting games as we know them, especially by offering the opportunity to play, for real, Son Goku and his friends. However, despite a great roster and a lot of animations visually impressive, Dragon Ball Z Kinect suffers from inaccurate motion controls and a Story Mode that won't please our absolute passion for the famous cartoon created by Akira Toriyama.
-
Oct 9, 2012Dragon Ball: Kinect has major flaws in every section. Badly designed and dull to play, it fails to entertain even really young players.
-
Oct 3, 2012Spike ChunSoft's effort to create an hardcore, Kinect based Dragon Ball experience is not that good. The basic gameplay mechanics are ok, but they have failed in being entertaining due to the lack of variety. The reaction time of the hardware is quite a problem too, slowing down the pace of the fights. Younger Dragon Ball fans will be ok with the game anyway, just cause it's too cool to throw a Kamehameha in real-life.
-
Oct 19, 2012The battles are often tiresome, not only because of the activity level associated with the controls, but because fights tend to drag on with rock-paper-scissors type counter attacks, blocks, and deflections. While you can unlock over 50 characters, all of the fighters control the same, and the first-person perspective means you can't even see them in action. Considering the lack of new content and spotty controls, Dragon Ball Z for Kinect ultimately puts the "sigh" in Super Saiyan.
-
Oct 25, 2012Dragon Ball Z for Kinect falls flat, so fans of the anime would be better served with the HD releases of Dragon Ball Z Budokai 1 & 3, which are coming in a few weeks.
-
Oct 21, 2012DBZ for Kinect is just what you'd expect: a half-realized game for a half-realized piece of hardware.
-
Oct 9, 2012Fans will no doubt appreciate the exclusive episode of the Dragon Ball anime included with the game, which is nicely presented in HD. But that's hardly enough to make up for the sheer mind-numbing repetitiveness of the game.
-
Oct 4, 2012A very poor game, only recommendable for kids who love the series and would love to throw some punches and kicks while playing as the characters they watch on TV. A video game that would not live up to the expectations set by Kinect or Dragon Ball Z.
-
Oct 4, 2012Probably the worst videogame in Dragon Ball franchise.
-
Oct 11, 2012Dragon Ball Z for the Kinect is just a mess.
-
Oct 23, 2012The graphics look good, and the anime structure is loyal, but the gameplay just fails to keep up on any end. Drunken anime lunatics and kids are sure to love this, but everyone else should proceed with caution. You'll be going "Kamehame-HUH?!" in no time, assured.
-
Oct 22, 2012Dragon Ball Z for Kinect is more a curiosity than a game, and even then one specifically aimed at DBZ fans. The one-two punch of nostalgia and novelty is appealing for a while, but thanks in large part to shoddy motion controls, later rounds will leave you waiting for a haymaker that just never comes.
-
Oct 17, 2012DBZ Kinect is a novelty wrapped in repetition. A small child in your household might have a lot of fun, if he or she can properly use the Kinect. While many of Namco's Dragon Ball games feature ever expanding rosters, knock-down, drag-out fights, and really pretty, animé-inspired graphics, DBZ Kinect is a totally passable affair, even for (lapsed or otherwise) diehard fans.
-
Oct 15, 2012What could have been a kid's dream come true is far too limited both in terms of gameplay and content to succeed. The younger gamers will be able to get some fun with it, but that's it.
-
Oct 13, 2012Thanks to Kinect you can take over all of your favorite characters. But nonetheless this is an uninspired and disappointing first person-brawler.
-
Oct 4, 2012Goku doesn't fight like this. Abrupt, imprecise and all those adjectives typical of Kinect games, but now without multiplayer and with few fighters. It has lost the seven balls.
-
Oct 26, 2012I much prefer the more traditional fighting experiences offered by games like the Budokai series than this mess of a game, and highly urge you to avoid this one regardless of how big a fan of Dragon Ball Z you might be.
-
Oct 26, 2012Whether it's a good Kinect game, a good fighting game or a scratch for your Dragonball Z itch that you are looking for, none can be found here. Unfortunately a combination of unrealistic ideas and lazy game design have made Dragonball Z for Kinect a must miss title for both fans and newcomers alike.
