  1. This steroid-pumped sequel works well.

A must buy for any first person shooter fan - if only to learn a bit of history.
  3. Doom 2 remains a superb shooter that even newcomers will appreciate.
  4. If you are in the need to go into a game and slaughter creatures in a mindless fashion, then Doom II is definitely for you. Do not expect top of the line graphics or high quality music, but you can expect a lot of killing and being killed as you play your way through the slaughterhouse called Doom II again.
  5. It’s a shame that the online aspects are so hit and miss, but the new chapter helps to smooth over that complaint. It’s old school and simple, but if you can look past that you’ll definitely have a blast with Doom II on Xbox Live Arcade.
  6. It’s certainly not as amazing as it once was sixteen years ago. But, it will scratch that itch if you feel nostalgic or if you have 800 Microsoft Points in your account begging to be spent.
  7. It's always fun to see Doom II again, but it doesn't make the big splash that it did seventeen years ago

Now had this been free on XBLA I would've got it without hesitation, but still only five bucks, so might as well get a taste of ID's 1990sNow had this been free on XBLA I would've got it without hesitation, but still only five bucks, so might as well get a taste of ID's 1990s master piece. The levels are big and open ended, it's challenging and engaging but it hasn't exactly aged well in terms of graphics but still, the console controls are well implemented and i'll continue to play this until I can get my hands on Doom 4 and after I throw Titanfall in a bin. ZERO. the controls, the graphics, everything just plain sucks. Expand
