    In essence, Capsized brings to the table a well-balanced run-and-shoot style game that can still be enjoyed even after being around for a couple of years. The arcade genre is constantly filled with class and yet are so cheap—this one definitely is no different. And for 10 bucks, what do you have to lose trying it out?

    Capsized is a linear, hectic, tight action game with a strong eighties/nineties vibe and a very unique visual style. If you're not looking for the depth and the exploration of a "Metroidvania", you will not be disappointed.

    Although Capsized may never attain the name recognition of older 2D games it does manage to seek out new life in an old genre. Although the point of the game is to escape the alien planet, we found ourselves wanting to go back again and again.

    It's been a long time but finally Capsized gets its place in the home consoles digital delivery platforms. Some little issues whit the new pad controls doesn't change the good old school feelings about the gameplay.

    The only good reason not to buy the Xbox 360 version of Capsized is if you already played it on your PC. Otherwise, you'll meet a well designed and intense platform like there aren't many on Microsoft console.

    When you look at the core mechanics, especially the shooting, Capsized could be more refined but nonetheless this is a charming oldschool action platformer with an extraordinary art design.

    There are some issues related to the control, but still we think it's a very enjoyable experience. The difficulty of some sequences are worth mentioning, reminding us of the old-school games.

    For those who’ve already played Capsized on PC, the console version comes with four extra levels, but I don’t know if that’s enough to justify buying the whole game again unless you really liked it and are desperate for more content. If you haven’t played it yet, and are on the hunt for a cheap and charming, if at times frustrating, indie platformer, then a journey with Capsized’s crew is a good way to go.

    Capsized is a surprisingly cool side-scrolling action game reminiscent of Turrican and similar games from around 20 years ago.

    The emphasis is on exploration and combat in a beautiful but hostile alien landscape.

    There are a large number of distinctly different guns which have secondary fire modes and are fun to discover and experiment with. The enemies are well designed and satisfying to kill and the graphics/sound design is quite unique.

    There are other modes of play to unlock and local co-op which is very welcome.

    Where it sets itself apart is the way you traverse the levels, you have an extremely useful grapple beam and you can 'gravity ram' the ground to jump extra high. You can wall-grab/jump and there is also a jetpack so players have many options when trying to reach secret areas.

    Try the demo and you'll know what the score is, an old-school flavoured shoot-em-up which offers the satisfying gameplay of classic games with some modern twists. Top quality.    … Full Review »

If that doesn't get you curious then I can't really understand the workings of your brain, but let me continue anyway. It costs $10. Open-ended level design. Interesting powerups and secrets to find. Great replayability if you're into topping your own score and going for perfect level runs. Simple but intriguing story. All alone, armed with some space-age weapons, a jet pack and energy grappling hook you must fight for your survival in an attempt to rescue the remaining crew and get the hell off this crazy world.

    I was pleasantly surprised when I picked-up Capsized and started off on single-player story mode. The first thing that will strike you right off the bat is the incredible artwork, not only in the game's levels and characters, but also in the comic-strip panels that move the protagonist's story forward. These tiny panels maybe simple and straight forward, but the artwork does an amazing job of conveying emotion and really adds to the games overall somberness.
