    If you can get past the occasional buggy-ness of it as well as the repetition, Capsized does have some appeal to it with its great visuals, sweet electronic music and gameplay that gives enough variety to carry you through its short campaign.

    An enjoyably old school arcade adventure that also manages to feel thoroughly modern, with a great mix of action, puzzle-solving, and almost survival horror style exploration.

    Capsized isn’t without its fair share of problems, nor does it provide something you haven’t seen before. Still, it does a great job telling a story of survival and creates an eerie ambience worth experiencing. Not everyone will appreciate its perplexing soundtrack, nor tolerate its iffy controls, but if you don’t mind putting up with some irritating moments and would rather play the game on your console, this little astronaut tale is for you.

    For a game built on such a solid mix of exploration and combat, to have both systems feel so broken is almost criminal, especially when a different, better version of the same game exists on another platform.

    Capsized is a surprisingly cool side-scrolling action game reminiscent of Turrican and similar games from around 20 years ago.

    The emphasis is on exploration and combat in a beautiful but hostile alien landscape.

    There are a large number of distinctly different guns which have secondary fire modes and are fun to discover and experiment with. The enemies are well designed and satisfying to kill and the graphics/sound design is quite unique.

    There are other modes of play to unlock and local co-op which is very welcome.

    Where it sets itself apart is the way you traverse the levels, you have an extremely useful grapple beam and you can 'gravity ram' the ground to jump extra high. You can wall-grab/jump and there is also a jetpack so players have many options when trying to reach secret areas.

    Try the demo and you'll know what the score is, an old-school flavoured shoot-em-up which offers the satisfying gameplay of classic games with some modern twists. Top quality.    … Full Review »

If that doesn't get you curious then I can't really understand the workings of your brain, but let me continue anyway. It costs $10. Open-ended level design. Interesting powerups and secrets to find. Great replayability if you're into topping your own score and going for perfect level runs. Simple but intriguing story. All alone, armed with some space-age weapons, a jet pack and energy grappling hook you must fight for your survival in an attempt to rescue the remaining crew and get the hell off this crazy world.

    I was pleasantly surprised when I picked-up Capsized and started off on single-player story mode. The first thing that will strike you right off the bat is the incredible artwork, not only in the game's levels and characters, but also in the comic-strip panels that move the protagonist's story forward. These tiny panels maybe simple and straight forward, but the artwork does an amazing job of conveying emotion and really adds to the games overall somberness.
