I'm very disappointed. This is the same game, again. No better graphics, no better gameplay, no better multiplayer from MW2. No multiplayer across multiplatforms.

Sure there is some awe inspiring visuals in this game but the whole process from start to finish is completely scripted where even though your in the game you never feel like your doing anything, kinda like sitting in the passenger seat of your car while someone else drives it. This game is like some major deja vu mind **** to any one that's already played mw1/mw2. Mission by mission is just a replay of the original mw and although it was great then with a new game you expect something new or it quickly becomes tedious as is the case with mw3. In short i feel the developers of this game took the original layout of the game made a few slight changes and then relied on mw reputation to sell this game rather then risking doing anything innovate or ground breaking. I wont get started on the multi-player or the elite superscription as that is a bigger let down then the campaign I just really, really hope they pull something out of the bag for mw4 or just don't bother at all. Shocking game!
A simple MW2 ripoff, pathetic attempt at an FPS which hasn't been innovated on since CoD2!
Absolutely nothing new here, I really do hope this is the LAST Call of Duty game they make!

This game not only offers a great single player experience but also now the game offers a newly revamped spec ops mode, allowing players to further expand their solo experiance in a range of tactically challenging missions or complete the tasks with a friend in co op, not only can a player complete missions this time around but also compete in a mode fairly similar to horde or a more combative zombies in the mode called survival, as you progress through the waves of continously stronger enemies fighting to survive with the limited munitions you gain from the beginning and with a skilled player can turn the fight against the hard opposition with the use of killstreaks, perks and other equipment. And finally to the prestigious online mode which is already one of the best in the market now is better, with a feel of both modern warfare 1 and 2, 3 offers a player now a larger range of gameplay through the use of the newly formed strike packages giving players the ability to use a range of different kill streaks that will help their type of player. This game also offers an huge amount of challenges giving the player a big sense of achievement when his/her screen displays the players achievements and gains titles and emblems to show offer furthermore the bigger range of camo's that can be earned also giving the player more bragging rights. simply a great conclusion to a great franchise!

In both modern warfare 1 and 2 there were levels I just wanted to play over and over. But this time I would probably only play the campaign to get achievements at most. There is nothing new to the campaign besides awesome weapons. The story is short about 4-6 hours on normal at most. And what little story there is, it is just a reboot of the combined ideas of modern warfare 1 and 2. I had no "wow" moment I had more of a "here we go again". For the campaign the gameplay is the same but the story is old and feels like a reboot. The multiplayer has become more "balanced" or as I like to call it become more "unrealistic". Shotguns are now pea shoots at most. And the multiplayer is mostly the same as modern warfare 2. The addition of survival adds a lot of fun but getting stuck with the guy who leaves his post to take your kills and results in you getting flanked by the enemy gets old fast. Survival is enjoyable but it does not allow you the customization nor the number of guns that you can get in multiplayer. As a result it feels unfinished and not as enjoyable as it could have been. Spec ops is back with no difference what so ever to modern warfare 2. All and all the campaign is a disappoint; as it brings nothing new to the table, same with both the multiplayer and spec ops. The only thing remotely new is survival and that is incomplete. All I can say is congrats Activision on sucking the life out of another great game. Expand

The major Call of Duty fanboys will defend COD games regardless of what was served up by Activision and the developers but as an unbiased gamer I can give a true and accurate review. The campaign is not great which is expected given past form. It is very rare to see a top quality FPS single player and I would say the last top quality ones were Half Life 2 and Episode 1 & 2. Multiplayer though is even worse and any comments about this being MW 2.5 are well justified. Visuals and audio are second rate and the map design is poor with maps being too small and quickly forgettable. Then there is the fact that there are still no dedicated servers which makes online gaming still a game of chance and don't believe this nonsense they have spouted about dedicated servers costing 'billions of dollars' as it is complete lies. The fact is the Call of Duty series is living off the success of COD 4 which was a good game in its day but the last three instalments have been well below standard. The series is simply now aimed at the 15 and under who will insist it is still brilliant but take it from someone who knows what is quality and what is not. This is just not good enough. Expand

But was it worth it is the question? Now true enough it does provide some fun hours online with a decent multiplayer progression system we all know and love. And even provides an ok campaign which sadly is extremely short. But in my opinion MW3 was nothing more than a modern warfare 2 expansion pack that at best should have been sold at no more than $39.99 if that. The graphics, while decent, were slightly up from MW2 and of course for the battlefield 3 faithful they will say its no where close which is absolutely true. But of course graphics is not the main draw for any game... what good is graphics if the game just sucks? MW3 does provide a decent balanced multiplayer which to me is the most balanced to date. The lag is minimal and the net code seems to be great with awesome hit detection.. BUT there are some weapon balance issues that need to be work on with a patch. The campaign is very predictable but does keep the pace decent to keep you entertain but dont expect any OMG moments. The campaign is also short which if you are a average player expect to breeze through with about 4-5 hours of gameplay.. longer on harder difficultites maybe of course. Bugs were minimal throughout my playthrough so it was a tightly knit experience with maybe some AI issues here and there but nothing out the ordinary. Speaking on AI in MW3.. nothing has really changed.. constant spawn until you move up or clear an objective but this is not a tactical game.. its basically an extreme rail shooter.. and it does it well. So with that being said.. if you go into this game just expecting a decent fun time with great multiplayer moments with friends you may be pleased.. IF you fell for the marketing hype and the "biggest launch in video game history" you will most likely be disappointed when you pop in the game and have a play-through. Its not a bad game at all.. but its nothing innovative. It is a modern warfare 2 expansion pack for 59.99. Kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I say it deserves a decent.. good.. old.. average.. run of the mill.. 5. Expand

They brought in new guns and perks, gun levels, and gun perks. Those are all very good. But, some of the new guns are extremely over-powered. The game has been sped up to make it better for people who like to rush in. There is very little strategy involved, especially in the modes of Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed. The only strategy there is "look here, look there, try not to get shot, and kill enemies as fast as possible". This game is really built for the types of players who want to race to see who can get the best score, the fastest. The last part is what I have a problem with. It also seems like the maps have been made more compact, with shorter ranges of sight requiring faster reactions and higher sensitivities. In addition with the fact that players move more quickly, this makes the game frustratingly fast-paced. It's so sped up, in fact, that the fire-rate on most of the automatic weapons makes it seem like someone hit you once and killed you. This is a step down from the level of Black Ops. It's probably even worse than MW2. I suggest to anyone considering getting this game to take little stock in the "critics" who gave this game high scores, and instead listen to the actual players. Instead of this game, get Skyrim, Saints the Third, Battlefield 3, or something else that you find interesting, because this game is not worth a $60 investment. Expand

Ultimately, Modern Warfare 3 feels similar to it's brethren, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great game. The single player element is still exciting, and multiplayer has more options than ever – if you're a fan of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 3 is a no brainer.

Modern Warfare 3, while still an excellent thrill ride in its own right, feels far too similar to MW2 or even Black Ops for my taste.
  3. I never expected Modern Warfare 3 to go toe-to-toe with EA's juggernaut this year, but it came out of the gates with a tour de force campaign and co-op mode. It loses points with a perhaps too-familiar multiplayer that caters to the juvenile on Xbox Live; though don't be mistaken, Modern Warfare 3 is one hell of a shooter and a highlight for a series that just won't die – no matter how much we wish it bloody would, at times.
