BioOct 1, 2007Intense, breathtaking, and original. If you don't like this game, take a break and detox from the Halo hype, and try again later. Ahh, isn't that better? I thought so.

-
TeliOct 1, 2007Unique and exquisite. The moral choices, the atmosphere the art combined into an unforgetable experience. The were so many ocasions where I would run out of an area through an interconnecting tunnel that displays the underwater city and realise that I completely forgot that I was under water. Very engaging. A must have title.

FerandoG.Sep 29, 2007Best single player game since resident evil 4. If multiplayer satisfies you get gow or halo 3 but if you want a good old fashioned single player game with an awesome story and what not then you will agree this is the best game on the 360.
-
-
NathanH.Sep 28, 2007It's game of the year, pure and simple. Some shortcomings, but the good parts outweigh the bad ones heavily. It's possibly the best FPS to date.

-
biohaterSep 28, 2007I liked bioshock a lot when i played it first but after a while it got too old real fast. the water effects are breathtaking! but the gameplay is just too plain. (very over-rated!)

-
TJHSep 27, 2007I thought this game was extremely wierd and couldnt get along with it. Although i thought the visuals were very nice indeed the game was just too odd for me.

-
AllenA.Sep 26, 2007The fact is that it is an extraordinary single player game, but short, and having no multiplayer to back up the single player, after you beat it its over. Nothing else to do. Just kinda puts a damper from the game that could have been even better.

-
AndyK.Sep 26, 2007Great graphics at all, but the enemies look somehow poor,no other enemies except the splicers and the game gets boring after 2 hours gameplay.
-
-
JamesB.Sep 25, 2007Phenomenal game. Graphics are so smooth, story is so compelling. Its nice to see new, original, unique ideas for creating games are not dead.

BruzzleElzzurbSep 25, 2007Best Games of All time. 1. Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2. Bioshock And for all those prudes who think the repetitative mutilation of genetically inferior sub-humans is a moral outrage, welcome to the twenty-first century.

MattR.Sep 24, 2007Impressive visuals and a pretty good storyline, but the gameplay is repeditive, linear, and just pretty boring. At times, even with brightness at or above the recommended level, you just can't see anything. It hasn't done anything other games haven't. Although it is pretty satisfying to smack enemies with the wrench. 3 for the graphics and voices, -7 for the gameplay and sounds.

BlahSep 23, 2007Great game, plot, atmosphere, and AI.

MATTHEWSSep 22, 2007I believe its one of the most heart wrenching and atmospheric games ever created.Irrational games pulled an amazing feat and did things that no other developer will try in a long time.Graphics are incredible, and the sound can make you jump out of your chair.Lets not even begin on the amazing story.

JonM.Sep 14, 2007If you think too hard about it, limited enemies, linear story, constant hacking and photographing then maybe you could knock down a few points. Look it as a whole and its clearly the best FPS experience, easily more enjoyable than the likes of Half Life and Halo.

DAXSep 5, 2007Great game. The best FPS so far on the 360. Terrible ending. But no other game can match the speed or orginallity of Bioshock except maybe Halo!
-
-
MatthewS.Sep 5, 2007A lot of time went into the the polishing the environment (sound and visuals), not enough in all the other areas that make a game worth playing more than once.

LukeV.Sep 5, 2007This game is a great game its story is fun its gameplay is awsome the graphics are superb the level design is just freakin insane. i just cant believe that this game is so good. i just loved the little sisters in the game and the 'quests' it sends you on, the AI is spectacular and overall its just the greatest game of 2007.

AndyM.Sep 3, 2007This game is amazing. The integration of the plasmids is a blast. And the AI's are some of the best I've ever seen. Buy it, you'll be rewarded with an unbelievable game that will definetley go head to head with halo 3 for game of the year.
-
-
HobagS.Sep 3, 2007A pure masterpiece, visually stunning in every way, the most interesting game i have ever played
-
-
HWNDarksideSep 3, 2007I'm sorry but the best story/best graphics in the world do not compensate for another premium not offering user definable/southpaw controllers. I rushed out and bought a copy without thinking and have wasted another £40 on a game I cannot play using a control system I am comfortable with. Shame on you. File alongside Gears Of War and GRAW - and the upcoming Stranglehold.
-
-
VCSep 3, 2007This game is way overhyped. Too linear and too easy. Pretty, but not especially fun.

HectorH.Sep 2, 2007The game it self are virtually stunning. The water, the enemie's A.I is fantastic. Those who believe that the gore and the blood were completely unnecessary should have picked a different title because there is a big fat "M" in the cover. The team behind this deserve the fruit it bears.
-
-
AndreT.Sep 2, 2007Bioshock is a very good game. Nice graphics all the way around, from characters to surroundings. An amazing sound production that establish an eerie atmosphere. The gameplay is well executed, and I sure love the hacking part. The difficulty on default is quite high after a while. The story is well done to keep you attached to the action. The best game since Half Life 2.

JasonR.Sep 1, 2007There's not much for me to say other than this game is exceptionally well done. With gorgeous graphics, haunting sounds, and beautiful music, this game has one of the most immersive environments I have ever played through. Tight controls and a surprising story come together to make this game one of the best games on the 360. Do not miss this game.

RayM.Aug 31, 2007Beautiful game but it gets as dull as hell! The game play is just boring and repetitive. The final boss must have taken about 5 minutes to design! The most over rated game I've ever played. Story? What story about as deep as Doom 3.
-
-
BuddyR.Aug 31, 2007This game is simply amazing. It seems like a first person shooter that you've done before, which in fact, i've done almost all this stuff before. But it's the atmosphere, setting, music, lighting, characters, spectacular voice acting, level of interaction with the environment, and mystery that make this an incredible experience that must be played.
-
-
BeauM.Aug 30, 2007It is a truly captivating and phenomenal game. The combat system is so weak though. The plasmids and tonics are brilliant and make the game very fun. The lack of difficulty and imagination from the mobs however is disappointing. Would love to see this game run with a better AI engine and it would be a true masterpiece. Still, this is by far the BEST game I've played since Halo 2.
-
-
JordanL.Aug 30, 2007"Bioshock" is beautifully crafted both visually and narratively. Ease of gameplay, a compelling story and amazing environments make this a "must own" title.
-
-
AlexB.Aug 30, 2007It has graphics. When you shoot someone they scream bloody murder like you're actually killing a real person. I found it a little too dark, too "evil" to play. What the hell is with the 7 year old little girls drinking and throwing up blood, that is just sick. This game would probably be fun if i could get past so much evil in it.
-
-
BarryP.Aug 30, 2007Very good graphically, gameplay is more or less the same as most decent FPS's apart from the AI being extremelly advanced. Overall though, highly overrated, probably as overrated as Gears Of War & Halo series. Graphics - 10 Gameplay - 8 Value - 8 Would have given it an 8.5 but rounded it up to a 9.
-
-
BenD.Aug 30, 2007Superb graphics...and that's it. Shallow repetitive gameplay with too many pointless tasks getting in the way of the overall flow - does anyone really enjoy repeatedly hacking the machines? It's another Doom 3 - dark and dull.

EricT.Aug 28, 2007This game will scare the crap right out of you.... no seriously. You're going to want to keep a roll of TP handy as you play. Without a doubt the best experience I've had on my 360.

RobC.Aug 28, 2007It makes me laugh when ppl say its not as good as halo. Halo is halo and if you want halo, get halo!! Bioshock is one of those games that stands alone, with beautiful graphics and great movement. I have several FPS' and this one is supreme. But it if you are open minded about games.
-
-
GregMAug 27, 2007Comes in a very close second to Half-Life 2 for that rare immersive quality that makes gamers love games. Find it repetitive? Don't use the same weapon. Find it too easy? Don't respawn--reload after you die. Think outside the box (sorry for the cliche) because this game deserves it, and the developers obviously did. It is lovely and horrible, and you should buy it.
-
-
MikkoM.Aug 27, 2007Atmosphere, story, basic game mechanics. It just is so damn close to perfect. If Fallout 3 was developed by Irrational Games I would cry for happynes. I place my bet that we have a game of the year winner right here.

ScottAug 27, 2007This game is amazing. The story is one of a kind and held me right up to the end. Worthy of any movie plot. But in the end, I was left wanting more, and it seemed a little short.
But I guess that's the sign of a great game...there's never enough!!! -

SamuelSifterAug 26, 2007A very fun and exciting game. It sucked me in from the start. Not only are the graphics and audio great (while still managing to run well on even older computers), the story is one of the best stories I have any seen in a game, book, or movie!
The best game since Quake II!

KbAug 25, 2007One of the best games I've played ina long time, and arguably the best game on the Xbox 360 so far. Plasmids are fun, and the FPS elements are nice, but what really makes this game so great is its compelling storyline. Anyone who owns a 360 should play this game once. Maybe even twice!
-
-
ChrisS.Aug 25, 2007Simply put one of the best FPS games of all time. On the same level of Halfe Life 1 and 2. Instant classic the story is compelling, the research is addictive, and tuning the combinations of powerups you have and how you use them creates combat that is far more compelling then almost all other FPS/Adventure games out there.

DrewM.Aug 25, 2007This game absolutely blew me away. The attention to detail is amazing, the a.i. is good, (but not to the point where they can see you coming a mile away with their back turned,) and the gameplay is just plain fun with the plasmids. The respawn aspect could have been handled differently, but its a small price to pay for the top-notch story and atmosphere.

Awards & Rankings
-
In a nutshell, beyond any shadow of doubt, BioShock is an excellent single-player shooter experience. The undeniable quality of this title and its emphasis on true and not pseudo-mature storytelling and character development make it a must-have for every self-respecting gamer.
-
Its weak link is its unsatisfying no-skill-required combat, which might aim this one just over the head of the average Halo fan. But if you want to get a little fancy, there's a lot of fun to be had with some of the game's more indirect fighting methods. It builds an amazing atmosphere by using terrific graphics and sound to set a creepy mood. But BioShock's real strengths are as a compelling work of interactive fiction, and as a unique ride through a warped world with some great payoff built into its mysterious plot. If that description has you even the least bit interested, you won't be disappointed one bit.
-
The first-person shooter's great looking, has an engrossing storyline, a perfect balance of action and exploration and a totally customizable combat system that can be described as nothing less than video game rapture.
