    This game is really good. I loved the fast gameplay, the awesome overworld and the creativity that was put into it. It isn't realistic but that doesn't make it bad

    A true masterpiece. I have played this game so much when i was younger... My childhood favorite! The mechanics, gameplay, all executed perfectly. I love this game!

    Pure perfection. That's all there is to be said. The power ups are amazing and really enhance the gameplay, and each level brings on something new, creative, and challenging. Super Mario Galaxy is a must have for anyone who has a wii, or anyone who appreciates video games, for that matter.

    Honestly I didn't even get to play this game as much when I was a kid because I wasn't into challenging games by that point. It wasn't until later that I recognized how good mario odyssey really was. This game really surprised me in so many aspects. This game changed the way I viewed platforming, it's much more advanced than I have previously thought. They took a huge leap into this random game that could actually ruin mario's name and make him a sonic title (which is not good). They definitely managed to master how mario controls and the functions so uniquely. I often wonder how they think of such originality. The characters, the music, the atmosphere.     I'm just going to start off by saying, this game is freaking amazing. The only people that have any reason not to like it are people who think anything without perfect graphics is bad. And even though the graphics aren't that great, if Nintendo gave it super amazing graphics, would it even feel like a mario game? No, no it wouldn't! And even though the graphics aren't insane, they still look friggin pretty. And if you hate on it because your too "hardcore" for mario or it's too "easy", then you are allergic to fun. Isn't that what games set out to do? Give you a fun game to play? Hell, I almost cried with joy when I first beat the game! And that's one of the beauty of the game itself. Does it have replay value? No, not really. But if you want to complete the full game, it'll take you a pretty long while anyway. What I'm trying to say, is if you have a Wii, then you're probably not going to get much more hardcore than this anyway. But, if it just happens that you have a Wii, then this is an absloute MUST HAVE. And I can't tell you how amazing the music is, either. It fits every location perfectly. I don't know what those developers were smoking, but whatever it is, I want some. Some people say that it gets a little too heavy at times (specifically boss fights), but here's two reasons or rather, objections to that. If it's too loud or whatever, there's probably a volume switch on your TV. Also, most of the time, I at least, am too immersed in the game to even notice the music. But if it wasn't there, then it would be empty and silent. The level design is fantastic, the music is pheonamonal, and the gameplay is near perfect. I'm just here to say, I REALLY FRICKING LOVE THIS GAME. If you have a Wii, about 20 bucks, and a craving for fun, then this is a MUST HAVE.… Expand

    One of the best games ever made. This game takes everything Super Mario 64 had, and made this 10 times better. Probably the only game that outdoes it last gen was galaxy 2.

    The main story is, of course, rather more of the same; princess gets kidnapped, Mario goes to rescue her. But what sets this game apart from the others lies in the game mechanics; it sees you jumping from planet to planet, gathering star bits (seemingly the currency in the game) and navigating elaborate obstacles and challenges. This game is more than just jumping and dodging; some involve clever tactics, others require you to search the environment for clues.

    This game is also far from small; you must gather around 200 stars to fully accomplish the game, and not all of those will come easy to you, as is obvious in Mario galaxy's almost punishing bonus challenges, which appear in the form of "prankster comets". These offer special challenges to levels you have previously completed, such as only being able to take one hit of damage, or racing against time. Difficult, but certainly a welcome challenge.

    Overall, fantastic, very nearly flawless game. It is well deserving of a perfect score, and of all the great scores it seems to have attained from official critics. Nintendo does it again.    … Expand

    What can i say about the game that has not already been said? This game is a masterpiece in gaming and a landmark in modern gaming. Everything about Galaxy is perfect, just absolutely everything. I don't have a single complaint about this game. Get this is game if you don't have it.

    Super Mario Galaxy is an excellent game. The graphics are amazing, and with 120 stars to collect, the game will definitely keep the player entertained for a long time.

    This game is easy, but to me it still is the best WII game. With so many big and interesting levels, bosses like King fin, Boulder geist and Bowser, the sweet power ups, Rosalina and the comet observatory all help to make this my favorite Mario game ever.

    after not being that interested in video games for a few years, I finally bought a Wii in Feb. 2011 to see what all the fuss was about, and one of the games I bought with it was this one.

    and oh man.. it's hard to explain the pure joy, magic and sense of bliss I felt after a few hours into it. it was the perfect experience for someone like me, it just made me feel like a kid again when    after not being that interested in video games for a few years, I finally bought a Wii in Feb. 2011 to see what all the fuss was about, and one of the games I bought with it was this one.

    and oh man.. it's hard to explain the pure joy, magic and sense of bliss I felt after a few hours into it. it was the perfect experience for someone like me, it just made me feel like a kid again when playing those wonderful platformer/adventure games of the 90's, like SuperMario 64, BanjoKazooie etc.

    Hands down the best game Nintendo have ever created. This game is the pinnacle of their creative brilliance and every minute was entertaining, unique and a pleasure to play. It has the appeal of the other 3D Mario games but excels in it's own ideas which are not present in many Nintendo games today. It's amazing, if you haven't played it please do.

    Great Game! It was my first Wii game that I played, I absolutely love it, it's a ton of fun! I think everyone should buy it! really good graphics! really good storyline for a Mario game ( not bashing Mario story writers)

    My all time favorite. I remember my joy of when I got my Wii on Christmas day 2007, and then just a few hours later when the rest of my family came over I unwrapped this masterpiece. It became my entire childhood and to this day I have never played a game that had come any where close to matching it.     This game proved with its graphics that 480p can be gorgeous and that HD doesn't matter. Its incredible controls cannot be matched by any other. The music puts you to tears every time and unlike most titles, the soundtrack is worth buying. This game here is what made me a gamer.

    This game here showed me the beautiful light of Nintendo. And I will treasure this game for the rest of my life. Just a few months ago I got a new copy of the game and pulled all nighters playing it and felt emotions I will probably never feel again.     Super Mario Galaxy is without a doubt one of the greatest Mario games ever made. First off the story is really good, even for just a generic "Bowser kidnaps Peach", it does more with some cool themes and even a little bit of darkness to it, I also like the character, Rosalina, and later on in the game you will hear of a back story about her with I think is something I really like that theySuper Mario Galaxy is without a doubt one of the greatest Mario games ever made.     The only significant flaw is that prankster comet stars are kind of cheap and uninteresting, and also repetitive, and having to go from one dome to another to do the comet stars can get annoying. Other than that, it's a masterpiece, especially if played at glorious 1080p on the Switch version.

    8,6 million sold copies is pretty disappointing for such a MASTERPIECE. this game is a must play wii-game, everything about is just so good. it has really good graphics, complex story, and the most memorable bosses in the Mario series. the new gimmick they give you is AMAZING.

And the music.. Never before has a Mario game's soundtrack been so beautifully done like Galaxy's.The orchestral approach was the best outcome possible for this soundtrack. Gusty Garden, Battlerock, Good Egg, Space Junk, and Rosalina at the Observatory are simply a joy to listen.

Everything 2d mario could made was done in mario3 for the nes.

    Mario galaxy is still at the top of the foodchain in videogaming, no game has even come close, maybe zelda which i love, but this is still the best game. Will take years maybe decades if we're not lucky for a game to surpass the imagination that went behind this masterpiece, this is the only videogame so far that gives you a more or less 4D experience. Tight control, nice soundtrack, every stage is different, 10 different games could came out of this one actually! This is the reason i need to own every nintendo console, im still waiting for "gakaxy 3". NEVER let the childish look of mario fool you, this is as best as videogaming can get.    … Expand

    Such an amazing 3d Mario game and although some may agree that it's not as original as sunshine, I personally preferred it. It also led to an amazing sequel with some may believe was better.

    best game ever made. period. Mario has always had the best games and this is Nintendo's best work. The platforming is precise and all mistakes are the players fault. everything is done beautifully. also, Rosalina is kick ass.

    In my opinion this is, hands down, the best Mario game EVER! This is easily a game where I would give it a 10 out of 10. The graphics and gameplay are awesome and this is definitely a must have for any Mario fan.

    Mario Galaxy is the game with one of the most beautiful graphics you will see on the Wii by far. Realistic textures of materials, the physics of the water & liquid surfaces, ice, variety of reflections, the sounds, everything is so gorgeously rendered that it is very easy to forget that you are playing in the role of cartoon character.

    The game has a nice, kinda rpg-ish structure at    Mario Galaxy is the game with one of the most beautiful graphics you will see on the Wii by far. Realistic textures of materials, the physics of the water & liquid surfaces, ice, variety of reflections, the sounds, everything is so gorgeously rendered that it is very easy to forget that you are playing in the role of cartoon character.

    The game has a nice, kinda rpg-ish structure at it's base, which always leaves you coming back for more, even if just for wandering around the Comet Observatory, chatting up with characters and enjoying the view.

    The innovative gravitational physics create mind-blowing gameplay experience that you will easily enjoy even on it's own. The unique usage of the Wiimote controls is done in a perfect and intuitive way, you can feel that they were implemented in the game from the ground up, designing the game around the controls, which makes the game & controls complementing each other in the best way possible. I could never go back to classic thumbstick controls after this, the controls in this game just feel right. The ways in which you can manipulate elements in this game by controling the Wiimote are diverse, full of surprises and the "whoa I can do that??" moments.

    I expected a classic "side-by-side" multiplayer co-op when I bought this game and was surprised that it offers kind of a assymetric co-op instead. One player navigates the character in a regular, 3rd person gameplay, and the other player co-ops only in the form of a "fps-ish" kinda way (represented by target pointer), by shooting and collecting starbits, or managing other manageable/moveable elements with the pointer. However, I came to find out after a while that this offers a very nice, layed back socializing experience. Even more so, since in this way, there are plenty of possibilities to fool around and choose to help or troll your main co-player, as opposed to what would probably be a more goal-oriented gameplay if the co-op multiplayer was done in a classic symmetrical way.    … Expand

    My favorite game of all time, no questions asked. The atmosphere, music, art design, game play, creativity, and level design are all the best I have ever experienced in a video game. Even the story is pretty deep for a Mario game, it almost reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey, maybe not to that level, but it is the closest a video game has ever come to it.

    Awesome game! One of the best games of all time! The graphics are amazing! The controls are perfect. The level designs are great. It also has great orchestraed music. Super Mario Galaxy is a must buy for everyone! You should get this and SMG2 together if you don't have either.

    Super Mario Galaxy is a masterpiece. Yes they may have ditched the old sandbox formula but it still felt huge. Yes I don't think it's the best game in the 3D Mario spectrum but it still is breathtaking. It had not one flaw, amazing story, music, and amazing gameplay.

    I played this game for five years straight to beat the thing. I don't regret any of it. It has the best graphics of any animated game ever for Mario. It is just spell-binding and mind-blowing when you think of all the other Mario games and wonder how they came up with this. I will never stop complimenting this game.

    One of the best Mario games ever. The game takes generally hated anti-gravity gimmicks and makes a game that rivals Super Mario World in its quality. The game also has amazing control and masterful music. If you don't have this game, then you must not have a Wii.

    Super Mario Galaxy is a great game. It has everything you loved about SM64 but with some twists. The space idea was a great one, it isn't the same old make your way through different worlds to get to Bowser's castle. Instead you get to discover new galaxies and make your way through space. Super Mario Galaxy is a great creation and one of the best games of all time!

    STORY: Super Mario Galaxy starts with Peach sending a letter to Mario, telling him to come to the castle, and Mario then going to the castle. Apparently in the mushroom kingdom they're celebrating the Star Festival, which happens 100 years betwen the newest and the oldest.

    Well the celebration doesn't last for long, since Bowser comes out of nowhere and kidnaps the Prince's, but not in the traditional way, ooooh no instead he calls a giant U.F.O, destroys the terrain around the castle and brings it to space. Mario tries to go rescue, but namek, the evil koopa wizard, shoots Mario with his Magic projectile and sends him into outer space.

    Fortunately Mario lands in a friendly planet and encounters this Floating-Star and he plays Hide and seek with them...oh and the Floating Stars transform into bunny.

    After catching all the Bunny Stars, they point Mario to a building where he founds Rosalina, pretty much the God of the Mario Universe and the "Mother" of the Lumas (The floating stars that transformed into Bunnies), who explains that he needs to find the Maxi-Stars and Power-Stars that Bowser stael out of them from the their "Spaceship" called the Planetarium.

    Rosalina gives Mario a new spin-ability to get back one Maxi-star and Mario does just that. Mario and the star go to the Planetarium and Rosalina asks Mario to go and get more, so the planetarium can run again and get the power necessary to save Princess Peach.

    PRESENTATION: Super Mario galaxy takes great advantage of the Wii's power. While the console is not as powerful as the PS3 or Xbox 360, but Nintendo took good use of what they had at hand and as a result ,Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best looking and preforming games of the system.

    The smooth 60fps, the saturated colors, the models, everything is great. The soundtrack...do i even need to say anything?, this music is AMAZING!!, it has everything: it's catchy, fits perfectly with the environments, it rarely loops and the instrumentation is done (for the most part) with a full on orchestra and it just sound awesome.

    GAMEPLAY: Super Mario Galaxy is a 3D gravity based collectathon platformer game. Now for anyone who is not familiar with the term "Collectathon", it basicly means a game where you go around a certain map collecting things and completing certain objectives. Games like Banjo-kazooie, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64 and this game, are good examples of this.

    The main feature that this game brings to the table is gravity based platformer. It behaves just like is sounds, you can move in a 360º space and you can go above or below the places that you explore. There are some places were depending on where your are, you will go up or down (mostly in 2D places). The camera angles complement this new feature and very few times it will give you any problems.

    Another thing that Galaxy brings is the motion controls. There are many different level gimmicks around the Wiimote and i really enjoy them, i never had any major control issues and most of the are very simple to use like: point this, control that or shake the controller to do the spin attack...and speaking of...

    To make the platforming in this game a lot more deep, we have the spin attack. It can be used to attack enemies and do a homing jump on them, but the main thing about the move is that it can be used along with the normal jump, long jump, somersault, crouch jump, every jump! to get some extra air time and altitude and believe me it doesn't sound like much, but when you are playing the game this becomes very useful and a lifesaver at times.

    To complete a stage you have to grab the powestar that you get by completing a certain mission and there's 120 stars in total. Some of them are very simple like getting from point A to point B or finding this specific thing on the map, but to get more variety, you also have things like race to the finish against your shadow counterpart or with a bunch of penguins, we also get some comets here and there that grant you things like collect 100 purple coins, beat the stage in a time limit or with incremental speed you know stuff like that.

    We also have some new power ups like the bee suit that allows you to hover or the ghost one that allows you to cross certain walls, but you lose them by touching water and light respectively. The fire flower is also back, but with a strange time limit, and the starman is back to, no super mushroom sadly, but it's because Mario has a health bar this time, but you do have this other one that gives you 6 hit points instead of 3 and then we have the Ice Flower which allows you to go over water...that's it.

    In conclusion Super Mario Galaxy is a fun and very replayable title that any Wii or Wii U owner must have in their shelf. I'll give it a 10/10    … Expand

Super Mario Galaxy is amazing, it has a lot of awesome levels, some are easier than others, others not. I actually 100% this game because it is so awesome. The graphics like I said are great for the Wii. The controls are perfect. I have played all of the 3D Mario games, and I find that this game introduces lots of new revolutionary places. Anti-gravity, graphics that look shiny and glimmery. Almost like SSB WiiU. Controls are good, but could have used Classic Controller Pro instead. Music is awesome and memorable. And, this is also the first 3D Mario game that you can play as Luigi once you finish the game! Overall, great, but could have been better, you know, multiplayer! Still, fun and great game. 10 out of 10… Expand

    Graphics 8/10: it's not too impressive since its on the Wii but this is the best looking game on the console.
    Overall this is my favourite game of all time and even though it lacks on story, it's a Mario game so that doesn't matter at all. I give this game a 10/10    … Expand

    This game is BEAUTIFUL. I never had a moment where I was frustrated or otherwise disappointed with this game, everything about it was amazing. The level design is likely the best I've seen in any game ever really, and the music, graphics, and controls were spot-on as well. I wasn't even mad when I had to play it over again to truly complete it. It's that much fun.

    Super Mario Galaxy is a phenomenal game. The visuals are great by Wii standards, the controls are responsive and the story, while nothing special, adds a back-story to the new character, Rosalina. The level design is spectacular, only beaten by the level design of the sequel, and the soundtrack is just as phenomenal, if not more so, as the rest of the game.

    Not too many games are perfect, but you can't get much more perfect than this game. The sound tracks, almost every single one has been stuck in my head for the past 10 years since it was released. The graphics, absolutely stunning. For a Wii Game, I would still say this game looks better than the majority of XBox 1 and PS4 games in terms of art and beauty.     Mario always outdoes himself. Galaxy is easily one of the top 10 best games of all-time, if not higher. Anything you could want from Mario is here. The beautiful graphics and amazing levels make this a must play for anyone with a love of games.

    Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game ever made. Super Mario Galaxy's graphics, soundtrack and controls are amazing. It tops all the previous Mario games such as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario World.

    This game is the best platformer game to ever be created. Anyone giving it 0s or even less than a 9 is just a stupid freak that for some reason hates Nintendo. Each Galaxy is ingeniously designed to be unqiue and fun, and the platforming mechanics (which include movement and jumping) are incredibly smooth, especially for a 3D platformer. Best Mario game, best Nintendo game, best game period.

    Mario 3d platformers have now been around for more than 20 years. In 1996, we got our first experience with Mario in 3d (hell, basically our first experience with 3d console gaming in general) with Super Mario 64. The game was fantastic for the time and still is great today even though it hasn't held up too well thanks to the poorly designed N64 controller. 6 years later in 2002 we gotMario 3d platformers have now been around for more than 20 years. In 1996, we got our first experience with Mario in 3d (hell, basically our first experience with 3d console gaming in general) with Super Mario 64. The game was fantastic for the time and still is great today even though it hasn't held up too well thanks to the poorly designed N64 controller. 6 years later in 2002 we got Super Mario Sunshine, which was released to very mixed views. Some, like myself, thought it was a huge step up from Mario 64 in both controls and gameplay, but others found it massively inferior to Mario 64, though still good. But then in 2007, we got 3d platforming at its absolute finest.

    Super Mario Galaxy is the single most well-designed, well-written, and perfectly controlling 3d platformer to ever come into existence. This game has without a doubt the most creativity of any Mario game to date, thanks to the anti-gravity mechanic and the huge supply of different worlds that can be played. Every level is something different and never feels a total drag or too difficult. But aside from the amazing gameplay, there is an amazing character known as Rosalina, who I believe is without a doubt the best Mario character ever introduced thanks to here having a great personality and design, and a fantastic backstory, unlike a certain other princess. A lot of people like to say that the second mario galaxy game is superior to this one in every way, but I completely disagree. This game was one of the most innovative and creative Mario games ever made, while galaxy 2 copied this games style and gameplay while only adding in a few new gameplay elements.

    In conclusion, Super Mario Galaxy is the best experience you will ever have with a 3d platformer (and maybe even any Mario game), and it is definitely the Mario 3d platformer that has stood the test of time the best.    … Expand

    Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite game of all time. This game is perfect in every way. Super Mario Galaxy proved that Nintendo can still make masterpieces.

    I recently replayed this game and I was really shocked how great it still is. It is better than I remembered. The new ways Mario can be played in this game are still fascinating. The music is so great that it nearly brings tears to my eyes. The gameplay is new and fresh and also challenging.
    I can't give it anything else than a 10.

    One of the most fun games of all time. Easy to pick up and play, but also some serious challenge if you go for all the stars. I still rank this and Super Mario Galaxy 2 as the best Mario Games, with Mario Sunshine in a close 2.

    heh, do i even need to say anything about this game? Nintendo has done it again with this game...i dont know what it has that impresses me. maybe its the story, maybe its the awesome anti-gravity mechanics, maybe its the beautiful music, maybe its the nostalgia...I dont know! But, this game, will be forever in my heart, as the best mario...no, the best nintendo...no, the BEST GAME IN EXISTENCE!!!!

    This is well and truly my favourite platformer of all time. My only criticism would be it's lack of story, but that's to be expected from Mario games. It has addictive gameplay, extremely beautiful visuals for it's hardware, and one of the few games that (in my opinion) deserves a sequel. If you are looking, for Mario at it's best, I would certainly recommend this one.

    One of the best 3D Mario games ever. Period.
    It is only matched (and even beaten) in quality by its sequel.
    This game will whisk you off to many beautiful galaxies to hunt down power stars and rescue princess peach from Bowser at the centre of the universe.
    If that previous sentence didn't have you curious, this game isn't for you.
