    All these years later, and this is still one of my favourite games I've ever played. Definitely one of if not the best game the Wii had to offer. The best thing I can think to say to show my love for this game is a story from my childhood. Super Mario Galaxy is now considered to be a timeless classic, and did great wonders not only for the franchise, but for video games as a whole. This game offers a great story, amazing controls and game mechanics unique to Galaxy 1 and 2, and conveys the perfect atmosphere for the setting in whichAbsolutely fantastic experience through and through, one of the greatest games of all time. Super Mario Galaxy is now considered to be a timeless classic, and did great wonders not only for the franchise, but for video games as a whole. This game offers a great story, amazing controls and game mechanics unique to Galaxy 1 and 2, and conveys the perfect atmosphere for the setting in which the game takes place. The characters in this game feel so fitting in the environments they appear in and are very likeable and unique. Not only that, but the music absolutely delivers as well, being the first in the Mario series to have an orchestrated soundtrack. The world of this game keeps the player coming back, with levels and tasks feeling fully fleshed out and very satisfying to complete. Super Mario Galaxy was and still is very impressive as a video game in the grand scheme of things, it is definitely a must play in my book.… Expand

    I remember first trying this masterpiece in 2012, 5 years after it came out. Before playing it, i thought it was strange and that it'd have been a normal experience like the other games i've played beforehand. After finishing it, i realized to have gone through one of the most beautiful gaming experiences of my life, no kidding. 100/100, the true Nintendo Business Card :D

    I have no words to describe how good this game is. In the first galaxies the potential of the game is already shown, all very well executed. You don't want to stop playing. A spectacular soundtrack, the orchestra made the game even more beautiful, in addition to graphics that are still impressive today.     I remember getting this game for Christmas with my Wii. So many good memories of just the music alone make me want to dust off my copy and my old Wii to play through it again. The camera jank was pretty annoying but everything else in the game is so polished I can't take points off for it.

    Never has a video game touched me like the tragic tale of the VanDerLind Gang's downfall. Arthur Morgan will forever be one of the best and most relatable protagonists, period!

    It's fun and exciting!!
    I mean it could be because of my heavy nostalgia to this game, but it's just a master piece!

    Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece and all but Super Mario Galaxy was Super Mario at its peak! Excellent level design, an oddly intriguing story and a wonderful atmosphere enhanced by Koji Kondo's pulchritudinous score! It's everything you could ever ask for in a video game and to this day remains as one of the greatest of all time in my opinion!

    Gripping and fun. A very nice refresh of the main Mario franchise which inevitably starts to feel like it is stagnating. But exceeding expectation Nintendo really managed to outdo themselves with this, and that is not an easy thing to do

    I really enjoyed this game. While there are quite a few bad levels in this game, the good ones are amazing. It’s creative and it has some fantastic music. The controls are ok. I hate the motion control and the underwater controls, but other than that the are ok. I really didn’t mind that in order to 100% the game, you have to replay it with Luigi. In reality this took a while to do, but itI really enjoyed this game. While there are quite a few bad levels in this game, the good ones are amazing. It’s creative and it has some fantastic music. Every aspect of this game is perfect (or almost perfect). The only complaint that can be written about the game is the camera can be kind of weird at times.     Best game of all time next to xenoblade 1 or me. Pure joy of play. Awesome level design and space feeling with quite touching story. Never gets old. Better than Mario Odyssey. It is challenging, has its own identity, more creative and more memorable with AMAZING soundtrack

    I got this game when I was 4, and it has been my favorite game ever since. This game is beautiful for a wii game, with stellar lighting (no pun intended) and vibrant colors. The wiiMote and nunchuck combo feel perfect for this game, and the cutscenes are theatrical, yet a little cheesy. This is the greatest game ever, and is a must - buy for people of all ages.

    Super Mario Galaxy was and still is the best Mario game ever! In my opinion, of course. The best part, in my opinion, is the concept of the entire game, coming from a game that has been open world, and a 2D platformer.

    Um dos jogos mais marcantes da minha infância,Super Mário Galaxy é um dos melhores games já desenvolvidos, você pode passar horas se aventurando, com chefes marcantes e uma trilha sonora maravilhosa ,delicada e com todos os toques que te fazem achar que você realmente esta dentro do jogo ,simplesmente um jogo que não pode faltar na sua biblioteca de jogos.

    One of the greatest games ever created. The gameplay is excellent, the music is fantastic, and, unlike most Mario games, it has a genuinely good story. Greatest Wii game I own, by far. My only criticism would be the graphics.

    I think this is the only Mario game I've seen all the way to completion.

    Smartly laid out courses Mario Galaxy manages to have the movement of Mario 64 and the simple to understand direction of Mario World. Set in SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!

    And that Rosalina storybook, my heart aches just thinking about it.

The emotional storybook is a nice inclusion too, though the game doesn't even need a story to move you.

You can also play has luigi but you have to get all 120 stars as mario and ask rosalina to fight bowser again after that you will get to play as luigi .… Expand

    Took everything you had in Super Mario Sunshine and improved a lot! The gameplay is amazing, the graphics for the time, amazing too! And the fun! It's great to play it for fun, not just for kids, but for adults too!

    So, I played this game back in May, I never owned a Wii when it was popular (I only had an Xbox 360 and a DS back then) so I wasn't sure what to expect. 7 months later, I still have such vivid memories of so many places in the game, which couldn't be said for 3D Land or even Odyssey to an extent. While it may not have the limitless creative possibilities of Minecraft or the intensity of a shooter, the game just always felt like a HUGE mystery to me, in the best possible way. Something about the atmosphere, gameplay, and soundtrack combined to create an unplaceable something so majestically glorious in thisSuper Mario Galaxy is, beyond a doubt, my favorite video game of all time. While it may not have the limitless creative possibilities of Minecraft or the intensity of a shooter, the game just always felt like a HUGE mystery to me, in the best possible way. Something about the atmosphere, gameplay, and soundtrack combined to create an unplaceable something so majestically glorious in this game that just intrigued me as a kid. In fact the soundtrack is the better part of what inspired me to compose my own music. Galaxy 2 just never gave me that excited, mission -like feel, with the very straightforward map progression it had. However in the original I was always excited to discover what new possibilities lie out in the void of space that surrounded the observatory. And the geniuses who made this game knew exactly how to combine all different elements into something that, even today, gives me a sense of wonder and nostalgia. Whether it was Deep Dark Galaxy and its sense of impending darkness and subtle, eerie "offness," the epic and dangerous Melty Molten Galaxy, or the immersive creativity of Freezeflame Galaxy, the music and graphics are just so perfect together. The experience is so driving, I couldn't ask for anything more in this game. Never was I bored and thinking the game wasn't worth beating; even though I still have one star to collect before I can be Luigi, I'm actually SUPER excited to get it so I can collect gold stars and relive my childhood playing the game over again. And some people have said it's "too easy," well a lot of the comets and purple coins have been very hard for me over the years but still just as fun as regular levels (well maybe not dreadnought purple coin which I am STUCK on, either I'm just bad or that level is just insanely hard). This game is just unforgettable in every way. Definitely the best video game I've ever played, one of the very few games I've ever spent so much time playing and not looked back and thought it was a waste of time.… Expand

    Such an amazing game and it needs no introduction. Music is the best there is, breathtaking at times. Easy controls and just pure joy. I am thankful this was a part of my childhood. Easily one of the best games ever made in my opinion.

    I still would say in 2019 that Galaxy>Odyssey even if I love both games
    The only problem with this game is the traditional Mario storyline that I am beyond tired of, but in literally every other way this game is a 10

    Incredible Mario game and really memorable. With the new concept, Nintendo creates a game mechanic that will blow your mind to play this game with many fun additions. Everything has been done really well in this game! But the only downside for me was probably the post-game, which felt quite repetitive and barely any new content. Still, I completed it and it was really fun!

Gameplay, amazing i loved collecting every star except maybe 1 or 2. Controls, not the best but thay are decent. Camera, it can be weird at times but in general its decent but the camera and controls are why its not a 10/10

    Possui uma das melhores, senão a melhor trilha sonora de todos os tempos, possui uma história ÉPICA, ótimos gráficos (em relação a um jogo de Wii é claro) e um level design que transborda criatividade, além de uma boa física de gravidade (que é muito divertida por sinal).

    (Para deixar claro, eu acho que o Super Mario Galaxy é melhor do que o Super Mario Galaxy 2, mas recomendo jogar os dois.)

    i almost never give tens but this deserves it. this game never seems to run out of ideas. THE SOUNDTRACK IS THE BEST IN VIDEO GAMING HISTORY. The game might not be hard all the time but can prove challenging. Mario controls great the perfect mix of button and motion controls make the game feel solid for veterans and newcomers.THIS IN MY OPION IS THE BEST GAME EVER

    I recently replayed this game and I was really shocked how great it still is. It is better than I remembered. The new ways Mario can be played in this game are still fascinating. The music is so great that it nearly brings tears to my eyes. The gameplay is new and fresh and also challenging.
    I can't give it anything else than a 10.

    If you like Mario 64, pick this up! The use of the Wii Remote is also very fun. Great graphics an emotional story.

    I have been gaming for 10 years now, gone through PC, Switch, PlayStation, and out of all these consoles, I've never played a game as great as Super Mario Galaxy. The gameplay and graphics are amazing, especially from a 2007 game. The soundtrack is also fantastic.

    Super Mario Galaxy is a masterpiece. Full with fun gameplay and vivid levels. Most levels vary from eachother with different objectives which help prevent the game from being linear and repetitive. Overall this is one of the best mario games and a must play.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This was the first video game to ever truly encapsulate me. I first got this game, along with its sequel when I was around the age of 7. The passion this game has all over it is simply breathtaking. Every galaxy, boss fight, mechanic, and song has so much detail and care put into it. The game is a blast the whole way through. I have never had a game since that is fun the whole way through. I love the sequel but their is just something so creative and new about this that blows me away with ever galaxy I travel to.

    The Good- The story for this game is small but it’s perfect for a Mario story. Rosalina’s storybook is great and it’s optional so if your not into that stuff it’s not necessary. The level design is fantastic. It’s always introducing new ideas and mechanics, pushing it to it limits, and then before it gets stale it is pushed aside for new mechanics. Later sometimes even combining old mechanics with new ones. The hub is a fantastic way to travel from level to level while unlocking more as you go. Mario’s movement is just as great as it ever has been, and the spin jump with the wii remote has never been a problem for me and always worked great. The bosses are as creative as ever and maybe the best in the series. For example, their is a boss where you fight a giant shark that’s shooting shark missiles at you and kill it by throwing turtle shells at it. Also, there’s one where you climb up a giant robot and use bullet bills to take it down.

    The Bad- I have very few problems with this game at all. For one, getting from level to level can take about 1 to 2 minutes before you actually can start playing. The power ups are great but I wish their were more (fixed in the sequel). Some of the levels based on motion controls can be terrible to control which made some levels a pain to get through.

    Overall, after recently replaying this game 7 years later after the first time I played it, the game is still a masterpiece. This game has been the most important game I’ve played ever and it will probably remain that way for the rest of my life. I’ve had so many memories of this game etched into my brain. It’s a game that is just plain fun and the core ideas of this game is how I judge ever other game. This game is an adventure that I would love to revisit a thousand times over.    … Expand

These feelings are very expertly delivered through the gorgeous visuals and soundtrack, that juggle both iconic music from Mario's past, and new tracks which have quickly become fan favorites.

    Mario admittedly has significantly less moves to work with, but the levels are designed in such a way that they wouldn't really be that helpful. Motion controls are present, but they very never require the precision or speed of a game like Skyward Sword. Unlike its sequel, most of the levels in Mario Galaxy 1 are very memorable, with some stand-outs being Toy Time, Gusty Garden, and Buoy Base. Missions are quick, and rather easy by 3D Mario standards, making Mario Galaxy a pretty calming game. The reward for 100% completion is pretty lame, as per 3D Mario standards, but the fun of playing it is enough for me.    … Expand

    in 2005 when the 7th generation of consoles began games tried to look realistic, but they always failed to impress me. They always had these brown washed out colors and it looked dull. The wii was a joke in terms of graphics, yet somehow I feel that this is one of the best looking 7th gen games even if it's not in hd. Super Mario Galaxy is inded the best mario game ever BETTER THAN ODDYESSY !!!. The level design is a very unique one. Planets and gravity may seem a bit odd for a mario game but it works so well. I'll be honest anti-gravity isn't my favorite thing in games. it feels useless, yet somehow I LOVE gravity in this game.Whenever I play this game I always feel like I'm playing a remastered version of sm64. The levels feel so alive they don't feel just like a bunch of obstical courses (something that nowadays mario feels like). The controls are perfect.Motion controls have always confused me. Most of the times they felt like a bad replacement of the actual controller. For me motion controls have to an addition to the controls, something that can't be done with a regular controller.Super Mario Galaxy uses motion controls in a different way. Instead of replacing mario's controls it adds to the gameplay The spin is an awesome edition to mario's movement, but not only that but the cursor that collects star-bits. Now THAT is something that a regular controller can't do (a mouse can do it to but eh). The music is Beyond amazing.
    Like it's probably the best ost ever I'm not joking. There is this combination of orchestral and synthesized music and it's sooooo GUUUUD! This game is just so Brilliant it's not PERFECT but it's rather Phenomenal. This is not only my favorite mario game, but game period .

They should just keep moving in the same direction when GOING upside down and then work 'normally' when ALREADY upside down. Overall, as a result of all of this, the only real reason to get engaged in this game in the long run is completing the main game - the post-game is just boring, tedious, and frustrating to deal with as a whole. Fans that rate this game high should try out other galaxy-style games and compare them, and maybe they'll find the latter objectively better than the former. What a shame.… Expand

    Super Mario galaxy is one of the greatest games of all time and deserves this score. It has a perfect Mario story, and has great level design, with everything about this game being jaw dropping and fun. This is one of my favorite games of all time, and my favorite Mario game too.

    after not being that interested in video games for a few years, I finally bought a Wii in Feb. 2011 to see what all the fuss was about, and one of the games I bought with it was this one.

    and oh man.. it's hard to explain the pure joy, magic and sense of bliss I felt after a few hours into it. it was the perfect experience for someone like me, it just made me feel like a kid again when    after not being that interested in video games for a few years, I finally bought a Wii in Feb. 2011 to see what all the fuss was about, and one of the games I bought with it was this one.

    and oh man.. it's hard to explain the pure joy, magic and sense of bliss I felt after a few hours into it. it was the perfect experience for someone like me, it just made me feel like a kid again when playing those wonderful platformer/adventure games of the 90's, like SuperMario 64, BanjoKazooie etc.

    Amazing gameplay, soundtrack, and very interesting levels. One of the most creative Mario games and the second best 3D Mario game, only beaten by Galaxy 2. The controls feel so solid and feel great to use. The story also feels very cinematic, which is quite different for Mario. Hours of pure fun. 9.5/10

    Bar none THE BEST mario game out there. To start, the spin jump is extremely satisfying to use, and blends with its new and innovative level design seamlessly. The new power-ups such as the ice flower, spring, and red star are extremely fun, and are applied very well. Although I certainly wish the red star was used more often. The graphics weren't the best, but the music made up for it by being so freakishly catchy. Same story as always though. Peach gets captured by Bowser and it's Mario's job to save her. Collect all stars to do the whole thing again with Luigi; I'm at 118 right now; Luigi's Purple Coins is too hard. Eventually you'll get all stars with Luigi as well. What do you get? The Grand Finale Galaxy. Purple coins for days!!! Your welcome for spoiling the game for you, people who haven't played the game yet.… Expand

There are plenty of secrets in the world, some easier than others to find, and the only way to find said secrets is to venture off the path.

    Mario feels great to control and motion controls do not detract from this game, unlike many experiences on the Wii. Shaking the Wii remote mid air gives the player an extra method of controlling their jump —and sometimes alter the world around them. Jumping feels satisfying and the camera control is actually really good 95% of the time.

    Level design is phenomenal with galaxies feeling distinct and the bigger galaxies feeling drastically different from one another. The setting of space is also heavily utilized with black holes, planetoids, and stars all being utilized in the game, usually in exciting and scientifically inaccurate ways. Levels are not just the large areas of 64 and Sunshine, but also not the straight path offered by more linear Mario games. Instead this game hits the perfect balance of exploration and progression.

    Galaxy stands the test of time and is far more fun to control than either Sunshine or 64. In addition to its high quality level design this factor has led to the formation of the opinion that Galaxy is the supreme 3D Mario experience and a must play for anyone.    … Expand

    A quintessential Wii game by all means. Graphics still hold up well, controls are sharp and responsive (unless your controller is as old as your mother), and every level is interesting and mostly unique.
    If you own a Wii you legally have to own Mario Galaxy, that's the law.

    There's no perfect game, but there are masterpieces and this game is absolutely a masterpiece. It's by so far (with galaxy 2) the funniest and most epic mario game I have ever play. Music is absolutely amazing, levels are creative and well designed, controls are smooth, bosses are well designed an amazing to fight with. I don't understand the negatives that other people score (haters IThere's no perfect game, but there are masterpieces and this game is absolutely a masterpiece. It's by so far (with galaxy 2) the funniest and most epic mario game I have ever play.     It's been 11 years, I cannot get over how amazing this game is still. It was a right step in the direction for Mario games which, eventually, led to the inspiration of Mario Odyssey. This game is worth every penny and I guarantee you will not regret buying it, overall an amazing game and, in my personal opinion, the best Mario platformer at there at the current moment.

    My childhood video game. the planet concept is cool and the game is crazy fun. it would be nice if there were less tilt controls, but that is my only complaint. all the negative reviews are haters who can't see how good the game is through their Super Mario 64 nostalgia glasses. let's face it- mario has never had a plot, salty reviewers

Nintendo did it again.I played the game like 3 times and I still want to play more.The game is fun and exciting.They basicly hit hard with this game being game of the year in 2007.It has good graphics and excellent gameplay for that age.For me wii remote fit perfectly in my hands and after 2 weeks of playing it i feel like a pro.Alot of world have good level design and good enemy's .The powerups are just fantastic and it felt good.I tottaly recomend this game for everyone.Just give it a try arledy… Expand

    Es ist das beste Spiel was ich je gesehen hab. Die Grafik ist für eine Wii sehr gut geworden. Die Aufgaben mit der Bewegungssteuerung wurden auch sehr gut umgesetzt .
