Games Master UKA terrific romp through an Arabian Nights-style world, only let down by its restart system. [July 2010, p.90]
-
Maybe this Forgotten Sands is not a blockbuster, nor it has such visuals as the previous entry in the series, but it has an incredible gameplay.
-
A really taxing, enjoyable romp that's only let down by some irritating combat.
-
Nintendo PowerThe developers did an admirable job of re-creating the overall feel of the previous titles while making a game that's great in its own right. [June 2010, p.84]
-
It’s common to get a “different” experience on Wii but it’s rare when that experience is just as impressive as the bigger systems. This version of the game is chock full of challenging gameplay and fun surprises, wrapped up in a product that really shows off some clever new Wii-centric gameplay mechanics.
-
The Wii version of Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands is better than the PS3 or 360 versions. The game has its own style, and offers very good ideas to play with. The original powers the Prince can use during his journey grant to the player an entertaining and fantastic experience.
-
The new Prince of Persia provides a satisfying epilogue to the Sands of Time trilogy, with the same kind of combats, puzzle solving and platforming. The Wii version of The Forgotten Sands is a product that really shows off some clever new game mechanics.
-
Wii gamers have often been forced to make do with a substandard product for their less powerful system. This time, they get a great game built from the ground up to succeed.
-
The Forgotten Sands is a good game, but it's really just more of the same if you've played a recent entry in the Prince of Persia series. The Wii additions aren't essential, boiling down to basic Wii Remote pointer control.
-
It really isn't often that a Wii version of a multi-platform title comes out on top, but that's exactly what's happened with The Forgotten Sands. While the Wii game still has its fair share of problems, it's one of the best action adventure titles the console has seen.
-
It's somewhat rough around the edges, but Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a good action game which firmly stands in the middle between tradition and innovation: even so, its substantial lack of challenge might disappoint long-time fans of the series.
-
The Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands feels like the genuine sequel to The Sands of Time. It offers an exceptionally long single-player experience with variation, challenge and interesting gameplay mechanics. Flaws in the combat controls and the camera position don’t hurt the experience: this game is one of the surprises of the year.
-
The Prince returns in a brand new adventure. Good platforming sessions, new powers and a magical reign to save.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)It’s a kind of magic. Prince in Wii version is not just a scaled-down console transfer but a different game with its own side story – and the result truly exceeds the expectations. [Issue#192]
-
Once you get past the issues stemming from the camera and the typically bland combat system, this edition of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a worthy title for your Wii collection.
-
It's a fun game with solid platforming, though the combat can drag the experience down at times. If you're looking for one more adventure in the vein of Sands of Time, consider discovering The Forgotten Sands.
-
Boring combat threatens to ruin your fun, but exciting platforming and strong artistic design make the prince's latest adventure well worth playing.
-
Nintendo GamerThe locations are bright and luxurious. [June 2010, p.58]
-
The main adventure is more than respectable when compared to other current games in the genre, but it's the "other" stuff that really makes this a valued product.
-
A converted try for Ubisoft Quebec, and a safe bet for Wii owners.
-
The gameplay is solid, the visuals are pretty and there's just something brilliantly enjoyable about making the Prince skip gracefully around well-designed levels, just like in the old days.
-
A clearly better version than the one for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a nice adventure recommended for specially for kids.
-
For veterans, the lack of full control can be off-putting, seemingly lowering the level of skill required to succeed, but if you can see past that you’ll still find something to enjoy.
-
At its heart, the game's mechanics have a lot of potential, and at their best remind me of puzzle-platforming greats like Klonoa. But in overestimating what the Wiimote can do, developer Ubisoft has made a game that eventually collapses under its own weight.
