  1. A little better than your average port. The Wii controls work pretty well and the game has always been a solid gaming experience. With the inclusion of the Wii-only Khameleon and the tons of replayability the game offers, fans of the series have a lot to be thankful for, but only if they haven't already played the PS2 or Xbox versions to death.

This one doesn’t redefine the fighter genre, but it’s still a fun Wii fighter that interested players can enjoy if they’re willing to put up with some small problems here and there.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon hasn't changed much in six months. There are a few new bonuses and executing moves is done different but the game is still very enjoyable.
  4. The problem with the game is that it doesn't have as much support to the one-on-one fighting that previous games in the series has had.
  5. The new motion-controls - a feature we cringed at when first announced - unexpectedly make the game that much more enjoyable.
  6. To me Armageddon still is an enjoyable game, but is still one that does require a lot of patience to get into the controls and the game itself.

The millions of die-hard fans who wanted to get their Kombat on will have no doubt already picked up the superior PS2/Xbox version six months ago.

The Wii-specific controls are fun for while, but quickly degenerate from thrilling to gimmicky.

Your best bet for head-to-head fighting fun on Nintendo's newest platform.

Physically throwing that spear and yanking your foe towards you is immensely satisfying – it’s given the franchise a new appeal. [July 2007, p.122]
  11. It just isn’t revolutionary in any way. Nothing about it grabbed me by the eyeballs and shook me around until my head caved in.

It's pretty telling that it's a simple cash-in when the game is far better using last generation's controller. [Aug 2007, p.70]

As much hype as the gesture system has generated, using the Wiimote to play a fighting game designed for a standard interface just doesn't work. [June 2007, p.80]

Honestly, if this got a full remake (not just a hd tune up or remaster) into the mk9 to mk11 era. This could shake things up in 3d fighting games.

I wouldn't call it better for having motion controls, but like a lot of other games ported to the Wii, it has many options to control the game. This isn't my favorite Mortal Kombat, but it's a good one. I know people once complained that this had no online multiplayer, but nowadays, none of versions of this game have online, at least not by normal means, so It doesn't matter too much today.
