  1. It is fun, uses real recipes, and has decent controls, but it only has 12 different recipes to prepare, which equates to about three hours of gameplay.
  2. Cook or Be Cooked doesn’t quite ascend to culinary greatness, but the core elements are surprisingly well-executed. Given more time in development, this could become a truly impressive franchise.
  3. Simple but rewarding motion controls make for an entertaining cooking experience, though the limited recipe selection will leave a sour taste in your mouth.
  4. Ultimately, the title is a good rental, but those who really want to have some fun with cooking should still go with the Cooking Mama series or the book on which this game was based, How to Boil Water, as it is a more satisfying experience.
  5. It’s too bad the overall fun to be had is such a short-lived flash in the pan.

Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked is a cooking mini-game compilation which seems to be an alternative to the Cooking Mama series. You prepareFood Network: Cook or Be Cooked is a cooking mini-game compilation which seems to be an alternative to the Cooking Mama series. You prepare and cook a number dishes and you must go through the recipes by completing numerous mini-games correctly. However, there is a twist to the game-play, you must complete a number of dishes at one time. The game features a single player mode, a "pass and play" mode allowing up to four players to prepare one meal, and a multiplayer cook-off mode between two people all of which are executed well. The game has been put together well, but you can't help but feel as if this game feels half-empty. Since there are only twelve different dishes to cook, there just aren't enough features to define this as a good game. If this game spent a little bit more time in development and if it was polished more, it could actually be a genuinely brilliant game. Try Cooking Mama: World Kitchen or Order Up! as an alternative.
