CD-ActionOct 14, 2016Atlus does not step outside safe territory charted by Persona. #FE will mostly be appreciated by people interested in the Japanese idol scene and those of you who need some more Persona right away. [10/2016, p.55]
-
Sep 19, 2016Pop and RPG mixture. Certainly we cannot say that this game has no style ... and an incredible amount of fights.
-
Jul 29, 2016A fine curtain raiser as we await Persona 5. [Issue#176, p.82]
-
Edge MagazineJul 24, 2016The whole thing is just so gleefully off its head that you can forgive its little missteps. [Aug 2016, p.114]
-
Jul 6, 2016A painfully bland story and dull characters don’t stop Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE from being a novel and fun role-playing experience for fans of the genre.
-
Jun 28, 2016Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE promises spectacle, and boy does it deliver—but all the flashy scenes, Fire Emblem cameos, and J-Pop in the world can’t cover up cramped world design and loads and loads of loading.
-
Jun 22, 2016A crossover between Persona and Fire Emblem proves to be just as peculiar as it sounds, but this is a surprisingly fun mash-up for Japanese role-playing fans.
-
Jun 22, 2016Despite being designed as a cross-over, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is an enjoyable J-RPG with a steady identity, that could have benefited from a more passionate writing and a less stereotyped cast of characters.
-
Jun 22, 2016The game is thoroughly pleasant in the moment, at least for dedicated fans, but one gets the sense that, by the time Persona 5 comes around, no one will remember the plight of its particular band of bland archetypes.
-
Jun 22, 2016Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is a good JRPG that sadly falls short of greatness due to missteps that you wouldn’t expect to see in a modern game.
-
Jun 25, 2016The studio put a lot of love and care into this game, but there is more to a good JRPG than just an extended fighting system and passion. The storyline is not interesting and for characters like this, we would not bother saving the world.
-
Aug 18, 2016It has its flaws and its entire premise will have more mileage with some than others, but fans of the genre will find something to like here.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jul 12, 2016A unique mixture of a pop-music with RPG. We certainly can’t say this game has no style ... or an incredible amount of fights. [Issue#265]
-
Jul 7, 2016If anything, this game is a promising gateway to many future projects, but to consider this a successful blend between the franchises wouldn’t be true.

Jun 26, 2016Try it if you want to see Atlus' latest experiments in dungeon crawling and combat, but not if you're solely in it for Fire Emblem.
-
Jun 22, 2016That spirit of collaboration, of helping one another so we can all achieve our goals together, is where the game ekes out its edge against similar RPGs. It’s not simply enough that we all combine forces to beat the bad guys; we also help each other realize our dreams and become the very best we can be. And also beat the bad guys.
