After God of War games, bayonetta is just mediocre. Combat is ok, just gets bit obscured with all the shiny things on screen. But it works well enough. Game doesn't seem to notice the y-axis properly tho. Someone swinging their weapon sideways underneath your character still scores a hit. Someone swinging their weapon sideways underneath your character still scores a hit. Also there's few random quick time events that are unexpected and pointless. They happen in few cutscenes, so there's no way one can expect them to be there. They're just not part of the gameplay in general, so expect to die because of them. Not sure if I encountered a bug or was it on purpose, but one QTE just showed a blank button prompt (which I mistook as stick) until couple deaths it showed as Y-button.
Overall, it's an ok game. Worth of your time if you like hack/slash games with pointless QTE and timed puzzles.
Should've stick to the fighting part since thats what it does well :)

One of the finest action games ever, spruced up in small but worthwhile ways for Wii U. A fabulous addition to the Bayonetta 2 package. [Christmas 2014, p.90]

Daring, challenging and balls to the wall outrageous, Bayonetta on WiiU delivers the definitive action extravaganza.

It still is one of the best hack & slash we've seen, even though there are few additions to play it again if you've already beaten it. One way or another, this is the best version of the original Bayonetta.
