With this edition, Bayonetta becomes one of the best titles in the Wii U catalog, a must have for lovers of the genre and recommended even for those who usually prefer another type of games.

One of the finest action games ever, spruced up in small but worthwhile ways for Wii U. A fabulous addition to the Bayonetta 2 package. [Christmas 2014, p.90]

Daring, challenging and balls to the wall outrageous, Bayonetta on WiiU delivers the definitive action extravaganza.

It still is one of the best hack & slash we've seen, even though there are few additions to play it again if you've already beaten it. One way or another, this is the best version of the original Bayonetta.

Bayonetta Wii U is simply the very best version of PlatimunGames's beat'em all thanks to it's concrete-stable 60 FPS frame-rate. A must-have when you know the speed of the game. Top all that with some Nintendo character love, and you got the ultimate.

I'd say 'fans of the genre, go ahead and get this', but honestly, there's no way you don't already have it.

Bayonetta on Wii U is a convincing porting of an amazing game: it's not going to blow you away with new features, but it has enough charms to make you want to live again the first adventure of the sexy witch.

Still one of the best third person actioners of all-time, and although the Wii U version changes very little the classic gameplay still shines through.

Even after four years, Bayonetta's frantic action, relentless combos and spectacular antics remain a solid playable wonder which no Wii U should go without. The additional Nintendo-related bonuses only make this version ever more desirable and an even bigger reason to jump into this gem.

It's not the most complete edition in circulation, given the limited amount of extra tweaks and technical improvements, but it is still a must have for the owners of a Wii U, waiting for the second chapter to further raise the bar.

A good version of the first game. Smooth and tearingless, this episode keeps on being an excellent beat them all that, despite some minor flaws, can be considered as a fantastic way to discover this insane and stunning IP from PlatinumGames.

The original Bayonetta remains the crazy, unique action title from a few years ago. There are newly added controls and some Nintendo related costumes, but the same content is still here in full force.

Five years after its original release, Bayonetta is still one of the most catchy action games around.

Bayonetta is still one of the best action games on the market. This Platinum Games title can still appeal both newcomers and fans of the genre. The Wii U version, with its bunch of extras, is the perfect warm-up looking forward to Bayonetta 2.

Bayonetta was the queen of action games when she arrived in 2010, thanks to a vivid debut that set a new benchmark for the genre back then. Fast forward a couple of years later, and the game is as stylish and relevant as ever.

Fast and frantic, Bayonetta is still a quality action game. The visuals may have aged somewhat, and the difficulty may be hard as nails, but this is the definitive version of a game that feels strangely at home on a Nintendo console.

Bayonetta has attitude, and while you may occasionally cringe at this one's mixed messages in empowering its heroine, it serves up a great deal of frenetic action — your controller of choice won't know what's hit it.

The port Bayonetta on Wii U has the same timeless fighting fun as the game had when it came out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The controls with GamePad are very annoying, but the graphics seem better.

Bayonetta on Wii U is the best version of one of the greatest games of the last generation. The combat is addicting and rewarding, and very challenging as well, which holds true for most Platinum games. Any gamer worth their salt will play this on Normal difficulty, since the easier difficulty levels use auto-combo. When you die (and unless you're a Platinum Games beast you will surely die), the great thing about this game is that it's so good that you'll be eager to jump right back in and pick up where you left off. Death only makes you want to play this game even more. That's the mark of a truly great game in my opinion. Full Review »
