Yes, I am amazed at such creativity, the quality of life is unimaginable, this very much of a game (yes, despite being more than game, it is still a game) has characters that feel as life-full as any one of us, characters that actually pass their feelings to the player, a story that although it is so much fantastical, it still feels relatable, "betrayal, misery, captivity, an endless cycle of suffering and despair, but there is also hope" the game is screaming this sentence in every part and every corner of it's story, music, voice acting, and world design, you will laugh, get excited, feel joyful, and also shed tears through it.

the presentation in this game is untopable, but the gameplay is also surprisingle very good, it is not the peak of JRPGs but it has so much systems and doors to keep you hooked in for more than 100 hours, implying strategy in every step of the game, whether you're playing the game on medium or hard difficulty, you will still feel a challenge, not in proceeding through the story (which also has it's own unique challenges), but in creating different approaches to compat and different types of enemies, aside fr0m compat the world design is very beautiful and expanded, it's full of things to do and side quests which actually feels relevant and rewarding, and the reason for that is the improvements done to "fetch quests", cheer up mates.. there is no more fetch quests, the quest system has also been improved, with quests being sorted into 3 different categories, side quests which are initiated through exploring the world, hero quests which are fully voice acted - character specific quests; these are really fun to complete since 95% of the characters in this game are amazing, and the remaining 5% is likeable enough. the last category is the story quests, full of cutscenes and interactions between the main characters, every single character gets an equal ammount of screen time, with some chapters being dedicated to one or two at a time, every small detail is delicate and perfect, there is really no complains about the story quests for me, although i think it's perfect, some people might hate the cutscenes for being a bit too long..

my overall review of the game is 10/10, a true masterpiece that hooked me for 150 hours, i enjoyed every single bit of it, i would recommend this game to anyone familiar with JRPGs

The game looks absolutely amazing and the soundtrack that accompanies the entire game really elevates the experience to the next level. The OST is so good that I would place it up near other soundtracks, such as the Persona games. The gameplay is so fun and there are so many places to discover in this large and expansive world. The many side quests really make the game so much more immersive and show the player all of the struggles faced by the different sides in the epic war that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is showcasing. The heroes seen throughout the game are all so well fleshed out and add so much variety to the strategy in battle. The only thing I would say that really lacks in this game is a villain. Trying not to get into spoilers, while most characters and even locations have immense amounts of lore and building up to help the world-building of the game and to help continue to immerse the player in the game, the main villain is not exactly fleshed out, and displays no clear motive that is presented in the game. While this did not subtract from my experience of the game, it was still something I noted when doing my playthrough of the game. A final note I would like to make is that the character designs are absolutely superior and that this game presents a perfect end to the Xenoblade series. Absolute perfection. Expand

+ DLC Wave 4 looks incredible (though it is not out yet)
+ Music is excellent, very impactful in cut scenes
+ Story up until about halfway through Chapter 6 is INCREDIBLE
+ Never had performance problems in over 100 hours of gameplay.
    Cons:
    - You never hear the night themes of 90% of the areas because when you skip travel the game auto sets the time to 8 AM, unless you hit extra buttons. Didn't hear half of the soundtrack until post-game.
    - The tutorials are suuuuuuper handhold-y. This isn't bad necessarily, it just bugged me as a person who had already played XC1 and XC2 and knew what I was doing. Understandable why they did it though, XC2's terrible tutorials ruined plenty of people's experiences with the game and they took that feedback slightly too hard. Wish there was a tutorial toggle for 2nd play-through.
    - Sometimes lighting on characters faces seems very harsh(?)
    - The last chapter or so of story was disappointing. The big bad at the end doesn't feel interesting or relatable in comparison to earlier antagonists.

    Overall still a 10/10
Though there are a few things that aren't perfect about the game, they are minor. I'd recommend XC3 to anyone who enjoys complex characters, intricate combat, or a past with JRPGs.

That was honestly (as usual with xenoblade) one of the best parts. I also absolutely loved the ending. People who didn’t like it because it “goes against the message” or because it “didn’t make sense” I’m fairly certain were not paying attention when playing the game. I've been playing video games since the days of Final Fantasy 1, and I've seen a lot of them come and go. But Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is one of the best I've ever played. The story is gripping, the characters are memorable, and the world is absolutely stunning. I could spend hours just exploring the different areas and taking in the sights.

The game has an epic story, a beautiful world, engaging combat, and plenty of content to keep players engaged. Really good game. For me it has the best gameplay of the series by far, going back and replaying the old games will be hard after this masterpiece. The story is really good and intriguing, and now with the DLC it's much better (now that all the questions are answered). Characters are great too and the game has so much content I need more than 200h to fully complete it.

A bit slow is an understatement story wise (15-20hrs in it gets interesting) but the gameplay, world and mist characters are top notch. Especially the returning characters along with mio and noah are great. The story hots hard at times and the combat system never disappoints, the best of the series

Great game as always. Only negative point is that the "tutorial phase" is quite long and hinders you from the open world (invisble walls), and less booba. But after that, it get's big, bigger than ever? Story is also catching as always.

Almost perfect. My only complaints are the obnoxious, unskippable tutorials and how hard it is to find certain quest markers later in the game. Story is amazing, game play is amazing, music is amazing, environments are amazing.

I have never had a game make me tear up or outright sob as much as this one has, and I think it may be the most memorable story second to Witcher 3 for me in recent memory.

RPG makers: you have Xenoblade 3 to beat in the coming years. Hire good writers, because you will struggle to come even close to what this has to offer; and after years and years of mediocre story after another, this one was refreshing, emotional, unique, and fun.

My only critiques for the game are: get off Nintendo's platforms and give this game the visuals and performance it deserves. It was distracting and almost heartbreaking to deal with the Switch's 5-year-old hardware struggling to drive this game, with the visual fidelity of a PS3 game at best, but not in the tailored way you might think. Outside of cutscenes, exploring the world and running around felt like a sloppy backport from PC where the lowest settings could barely make it on this system. That's honestly kind of pathetic and sad.

Nintendo is overdue for releasing an updated console with more capable hardware, and Monolith should seriously consider branching out and offering their titles on better systems. The poor visuals did the story and gameplay an injustice.

I'll end on a good note -- despite those gripes, PLAY THIS GAME. You will remember the music and heartfelt moments forever.

This is great for vets but can be overwhelming for newcomers. There are hand holding tutorials for everything and while in the end you will need them to understand it all, it is just a little frustrating at times when you just want to get moving but you are forced to slog through menus to learn something new.

Rest assured the game does its best not to fall in some of the pitfalls of xenoblade 2's systems (Not that I thought anything was wrong with it personally). Amazingly enough, at first shoving 6 diverse characters on you you would think you would fine at least one or more of them annoying or disappointing. After 7 hours I was able to find at least one thing to like about each and every one of them and can't wait for full backstories. The writing is really amazing, and it really needed to be because it can be particularly difficult to believe what these colonies do day in and day out for their 10 year life spans.

Technically, we aren't seeing any BETTER visuals then anything we saw in xenoblade 2 per say, but rather the little things everywhere. Performance is pretty rock solid now, no sudden frame drops from busy areas. Load times are based on the complexity of the area so out in the world the load times are quite fast. I also have yet to see any of the texture load in bugs that plagues XB2 when you loaded into cities and cutscenes. I also think facial animations have been improved noticeably. On the audio front, I so far feel this is the series best sound track to date.

If you are any kind of a fan of JRPGs, this is a must have just as Xenoblade 2 is.

Had to edit my review after finishing this. I was a little harsh initially and after finding my comfort zone, this has to be one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The story and character writing is so well written that I just found myself get lost in this world. I probably cried 20 times playing this. There's so many hard topics or absolutely tragic situations going on. The writing did an amazing job getting me to feel for these characters and side characters. Sometimes I would just get goosebumps with what was going on absolutely devestated. This also ended so beautifully with just the most fulfilling ending ever that totally made my time feel well spent. Took me exactly 100 hours to finish this games main story mission and all the hero and heroic missions, along with quite a few side quests. I'm going to this about this game for a long time. I've never seen a game do writing this epic before and this large of a scale, I'm just so happy to see this can be done this high quality Honestly if the game mechanics and some systems were perfected, this would be a perfect game. My enjoyment ended up not being as bothered about it though as I thought. The storytelling ended up just surpassing any issue I had with the games mechanics.

    ____

Game plays itself. AND Lot of weird un-used systems. Like the fire clock which a tutorial is given and then you never see it again other then first 30 minutes. Even the shopping system doesn't see any use. Buying and selling is essentially useless. You accumulate so much money and have nowhere to use it. Game autosell is introduced but you never really see loot to sell and nothing is worth buying as you accumulate so much good loot just wandering around. There's also these system of activating these camp areas with Ether deposits, yet again that system has no use. Equipment system even barely needs used. Your characters will auto-equip what is best for them when you're switching out classes. Sometimes adjustments may be needed but barely as the choices are usually pretty good.

There is an Affinity system with colonies.... Barely gets used and really doesn't serve a whole lot of purpose other then maybe a nice map of the area, affinity sorta just builds up quickly on its own without really a need to focus in on it. Also the rewards are very average so it doesn't make noticeable differences. Crafting system isn't really used, it's limited to gems mostly but it's sorta flip of the coin if you can craft something or not. There is no system to easily tell you where to go to pick up what your missing sooo it's sorta just luck if you run into what you need or not. The collectible soldier husk doesn't serve much of a purpose other then affinity building. You get a animation and sorta just move on. Supply drops arnt really all that important. You get bombarded by do much loot already that it serves nothing more as an inconvenience just for more average loot. There's this half baked passive monster system where the monsters out in the wild occasionally do something in their own to drop loot. It's weirdly under used and doesnt drop anything too useful. Sooooo many weird choice the developers made doing away with mechanics or not thinking them through.

Of course the combat returns of the came playing itself for the most part. The ability to switch characters is nice and honestly I do feel engaged with that at least. I definitely will lose battles if I don't direct the combat. Overall though this story is absolutely moving, incredible plot and character writing. I was moved to tears over a dozen times and sometimes left devestated with how good the writing was. The weird underused RPG systems though was a strange choice. Sometimes I felt like the game played itself and only left exploring and combat to me. This was fine but I felt more like I was just watching a show that I occasionally would fight in. I really lost that feeling of developing anything on my own. Seriously no crafting, too much loot, auto leveling up and not even a shopping system sorta made me feel like the game didn't want me to play but just watch and enjoy their nice story.

Anyone on this platform that gives this game a 0/10 rating clearly has either no idea what an actually bad game is like, doesn't have th will or brain capacity to spend even a minute actually thinking of a fair score, or just doesn't care and wants to manipulate the User Rating by giving the lowest score possible. Opinions can differ of course, but a 0 for a game of this size and quality is nothing but ridiculous.

I have noticed some weak points myself which is why it gets an 8 right now - now it's a 9 - , like the tutorials being incredibly handholdy and exploration being actively prohibited by the game during the early story relevant parts, but as soon as both of those finally let me off their leash, the game started feeling increasingly amazing. The music is fantastic and many aspects have been vastly improved from the second game in accordance with frequent criticism that that game received.

I can't wait to see where the journey goes and can only encourage people not to pay attention to this stupid review bombing.

    Thoughts-
As you may have guessed, there is a lot to say about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and I’m not sure I’ve said all of what I could yet. It’s fitting, really, for a series of games that prides itself on the excess it delivers in quite literally every possible regard, without compromising on the core quality of the experience (something very few other developers have managed to do). Xenoblade games are massive, they defy the imagination, and they can often break the mind with their scope and sheer volume. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is no different. In taking together over a decade long narrative arc that the geniuses at Monolith Soft have been working towards, it takes on the best of Xenoblade 1 and 2, and then brings its own additions to the table. The end result is something so jaw-droppingly big, it’s a wonder it doesn’t collapse under its own weight. Under the stewardship of a lesser developer, it probably would have, or at least, the seams would have begun to show. Under Monolith Soft, that entire excess comes together in one glorious package, tightly integrated and thoroughly compelling, not just the best game in its series and by its developer, but also arguably among the greatest games on its system and in its genre. Now that is suitably lavish praise for a series that deals with excesses like Xenoblade Chronicles does- and it’s well earned.

I won't spoil anything, but it's an absolutely heartbreaking conclusion that perfectly encapsulates the overall themes of the story (i.e., the nature of loss, and the importance of letting go rather than clinging to the past as the story's villains do). As for the rest of the game, it serves as the true culmination of the Xenoblade trilogy by combining the best elements of both. The combat is so fun, with great variety thanks to the class-switching system, and the open world is as always stunning and satisfying to explore. The characters are among the series's best as well, with all six protagonists becoming well developed by the end. My favorite was Taion, but even the stoic Noah becomes a fascinating, three-dimensional character.

The main criticism I would give is that the game has a bit too many mechanics, and it became tedious to juggle classes, arts, gems, and Ouroboros upgrades. Additionally, while I think the ending was a good conclusion to the specific story of Xenoblade 3, it doesn't really serve as an ending to the Xenoblade trilogy that we were promised, and a few elements are left frustratingly unexplained (still have no idea WTF is up with Noah's sword). This last point doesn't bother me too much since I assume the Future Redeemed DLC will serve as a suitable ending, but just something to keep in mind! Overall, this is a definite recommend to any Xenoblade fan or RPG fan in general, and one of the Switch's best games.

The graphics are surprisingly beautiful as well, it pushes the weak Switch to its breaking point (resulting in a few hard crashes for me), but it looks genuinely amazing, I took DOZENS of screenshots every hour. The fused environments had me geeking out the whole time too. The combat is FANTASTIC. I had so much fun even in the most basic of battles. The class system is genuinely addictive & I loved to switch up my strategies every few hours (but after a certain later point I stopped because I found classes for everyone I loved to use), and chain attacks are finally fun to use! It took a little getting used to, but very soon I was doing MILLIONS of damage and basically shredded every boss after that point. Anything would be WAY better than the god awful chain system in Xeno 1. It’s been a long time since I had so much addictive fun with a game, especially such a MASSIVE experience like Xenoblade 3. The cutscene direction & choreography are in a master class of their own. Everything in this game is designed to make you FEEL & I love some severe emotional damage in my games! I cried multiple times throughout almost every chapter, while jumping out of my seat with pure concentrated HYPE during other moments. For the record it’s physically very hard for me to cry, so THAT is an achievement! If you think that’s emotionally damaging, the ending had me in absolute SHAMBLES. I sobbed my eyes out for over an hour, until my eyes burned & my shirt was soaked. Happy & sad tears btw! One of the best ending setpieces in video game history!!!
Negatives are few & far between. Minor stuff like some of the chapter lengths were a bit much, there’s only 7 but I think some of them could’ve been broken up into separate chapters like in previous games. Like I mentioned, the game did stutter a little then crash after from time to time. I saved a lot, but once I lost 30 minutes of decent progress which was annoying. Also in one of the later chapters, you’re stuck at a location for an extended period of time doing boring tasks for an hour before being able to leave, right in the middle of the typical ramping up of the Xenoblade story which kinda stomped on the excellent pacing up until that point. It picked right back up after like none of the fetch quest crap didn’t just happen thankfully, but I was audibly groaning after a certain point of that quest, a dirty smudge on an otherwise heart wrenching & gripping chapter. SPOILERS! What I wanna dive into last is the story itself, what I was easily the most excited for.. I really love it trust me, but I think I had set my expectations WAY too high which is on me obviously. The story has some goddamn heartwarming, heartbreaking & awe inspiring moments, but a lot of them can be spaced far apart due to the chapter design. The main villains are also kind of.. ok? Compared to Egil & Zanza, Malos, Jin & Amalthus, the majority of them pale in comparison to those iconic characters. Moebius are all intriguing to watch, but I can’t help but scratch my head a little at some of the twists and turns surrounding them, especially at those 2 FAMILIAR Moebius, if ykyk. They just kinda fell flat for me. I understand everything about them now, but the way it was presented in the story came across as convoluted at times, at least to me. I really wish there were more connections to previous games as well. What we did get was AMAZING I was just wishing there to be a lot more, although my Xeno 2 story expectations helped to prepare me for this game tbh, Xenoblade games are their OWN stories with references to previous games. Considering this was a culmination of the series & was advertised as such, I was just craving more. Still LOVED the story, but out of the 3 Chronicles games, I still prefer the 1st & 2nd’s stories. Might be a controversial take, but all of these games are so carefully & lovingly crafted, it’s truly become one of my Top 5 Favorite Franchies, and one of the best trilogies I’ve ever played right up there with Mass Effect. Thank you Takahashi & Monolith Soft.. One more thing.. REST IN PISS FIELD SKILLS!!

I can't reccomend this game enough. Monolith seems to have really perfected their formula. The lore is pretty good, it might not wow any newcomers but returning players who are caught up on what's happened in the previous games will be absolutely glued to their tv from start to finish.

The sheer amount of content in this game is crazy. There are seven chapters and I had 80 hours on my game before chapter six - not because the story is that long, but because I was so compelled to go and do everything I could. No time is wasted in this game as the player is incentivized by so many things that stand to make the party stronger - whether it be new equipment, new resources for crafting gems, increased friendship with a certain faction, or even sp to use on the various skill trees for the interlink forms.

The class system is handled really well and allows the player to customize everything about their party and how it synergizes in combat. My only complaint with this game is the way that classes are unlocked. Its easy enough to get a class for one character that automatically inherits it, but it can be a bit of a pain to acquire the class with everyone else. That's honestly the only complaint I can think of, I know i'm biased as a fan of the series but this game has been such a pleasant experience for me - there just isn't really anything I don't like about this game if I'm being honest.

This will undoubtedly be my game of the year and I strongly recommend any gamers who are at all interested in the jrpg genre to give this game a shot, you will not be disappointed.

TLDR: This is an excellent modern jrpg with tons of content and a lot to love for fans of the genre and more so for fans of the games that proceeded it.

The hero characters you can unlock during the game by completing their missions are adding a lot to the plot itself and the development of your characters. These temporary party members bring not only a new class to master, their also bring a ton of variety thanks to the fact that every hero has their own unique personality.

The battle system is more passive and how successful you are, depends on the talents your characters have, the group composition and the classes you are currently use. Every class has different properties, although their belong to the same category. The motivation and fascination comes from experimenting with them.

The music is amazing. Especially the moebius theme is so exciting and gorgeous that it always feels like final boss time. The cutscenes are mostly emotional, but some of them are also funny too.

However there are some flaws which holds this game back. The battles becoming more and more repetitive. After you finally learn how to do an Ouroboros-Chain-Attack. Every battle has the same scheme and you always need to follow the same steps to win.

Another flaw is the final boss fight. This fight is to long and the first phase of it is only time consuming.

All in all it is a great game, which takes the Xenoblade Series up to a new level.

Monolithsoft once again deliver a spectacular game for the Xenoblade franchise. From story to characters I loved every step in this entry. The battle system is tight with tons of depth and expansion. I do wish that the Kevesi side of things worked better as the Agnian classes were just "better" in my experience.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, compared to 2, actually represents a real sequel and it is a bit of a shame to play this one before the previous entries as part of the plot will surely be obscure if you are not familiar with the worlds of 1 and 2 (explaining "why" would lead me into unavoidable spoilers). For those who have played them, however, from my perspective, this Xenoblade is the best of the 3, because game mechanics and gaming experience are similar to a refined mix of the previous two entries (perhaps more toward 2). As for the story, it is again very interesting and full of turning points with good narration of events.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 hits the JRPG sweet spot, featuring exceptional combat with customization that is deeper than it first appears, well defined characters brought to life by incredible VA talent, and an engaging story that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Stylistically, it stands apart from both the over the top anime fantasy of 2 and the grittier, more sepia toned 1, making it the most distinct and enjoyable entry in the series to date.

Compared to previous entries in the series, XC3 manages to improve on basic quality of life while keeping many of the elements that fans love. Changes to the mini map and an increased number of fast travel spots make exploring Aionis much more satisfying than in XC2, and the addition of traversal skills throughout the story help to make older areas worth revisiting.

The traditional British voice acting has always been an inspired choice for the series, but in XC3 it really shines. Each character, whether by virtue of their regional accent or just through the VA's talent, feels distinct and full of life. This can be a bit of a double edged sword, however, as when a VA fails to nail their line or embody their character, it shows.

The story is an old classic retold with some new twists. Each of the members of Ouroboros get their fair share of development through the main story, while side characters called Heroes (which replace the Blades from XC2) are given their own development through side stories and quests that feel much more integral to the overall experience than in previous entries. The lengthy cutscenes return for XC3, and if there is one negative about this game it's how frequently they crop up.

If you're a fan of JRPGs or previous entries in the Xenoblade series, give 3 a try. You'll be hooked!

    Combat?
I found XC1's combat... okay. XC2's combat I really disliked. XC3 however managed to make Xenoblade combat actually _fun_ for me. The Ourboros form, switching classes, switching characters mid combat and all make it so battles never become boring.

    Graphics?
Insane, considering this is the Switch. They do some very dark magic of upscaling and shaders to manage this feat, but the image almost always looks fantastic. Both in docked and handheld mode.

    Issues?
I have encountered no real bugs so far, just very minor glitches, like some items getting stuck in a wall (but still being able to pick them up), or a character vanishing in a nearby furniture piece.

    Now why just 9/10?
Because while being a perfect Xenoblade game that overcomes almost every weakness and oddities of the former games, it isn't without flaw.
Even though the world is vast, there's a good amount of backtracking at times when new things get unlocked in older areas - and unlocking faster running only seems to come halfway through the game.
There's also some other QoL things missing, like being able to give much needed specific commands in battle (prioritize Ourboros, prioritize healing, ...)
And there's a flood of unskipable tutorials in the first ~10 hours or so. Very annoying - but helpful for players new to the series.

+Combat is advanced and complex and gives you seemingly infinite options to set-up your party. It's fun but din't go in this game thinking it's a full on action-JRPG cuz it's not. It's more of a tactical/strategy JRPG except it's not turned based.

    +Music is peak as usual.

+The areas look dope and are fun to explore, tho don't go in this game thinking it's an open-world game like BOTW, cuz it's simply not that and not trying to be that.

+The graphics are better than ever. Great artstyle with great graphics (For the Switch, at least)

-The areas are very large (especially in the later chapters) but unlike in Xenoblade X, there's no sprint button wich this game could use for sure.

-When you're fighting in a small area with lots of enemies at once the game becomes hard to follow visually. Now yes, there is an indicator showing your position relative to the enemy you're targeting but it's still a mess sometimes. I feel like they should give us the option to disable damage and healing numbers since, when you think about it, you don't really need them. Sure it's good to compare the damage output of your party members n' stuff but you can already see all the stats in the character menu so just give us the option to turn of all these damage/healing numbers so that my screen doesn't look so bloated in crowded fights.

-The dialoge isn't bad but sometimes it feels like the characters point out pretty obvious things. Mainly early game.

-This is not the dev's fault but sometimes I had frame rate drops in ceetain areas. This is just a Switch issue, not a Xenoblade issue.

It has frame drops when a lot is happening on screen, but it generally plays at it's consistent 30 FPS. Combat is very streamlined compared to earlier entries. The tutorials do a good job introducing new mechanics to the game. It introduces them slowly as to not overwhelm the players. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a clear improvement over its predecessors in almost every way. It streamlines so much and avoids past pitfalls, though there’s still work to be done in terms of balancing the difficulty. There’s a grounded story here with a solid cast of characters, and the basic plot is much easier to digest. The world design exceeds past efforts with ease, and the implementation of Hero Quests is a game changer. While the devs have done an admirable job making the battle system easier to grasp, it feels like the series has fully explored and exhausted these core combat mechanics, signaling it’s time for the next game to change things up. As a whole, it stands as a phenomenal RPG with a one-of-a-kind sense of exploration you can’t find anywhere else.
