    Jogo incrível, história emocionante que permite o jogador criar sentimentos pelos personagens, combate simples e ao mesmo tempo complexo, foram mais de 100hrs que me deixaram completamente preso, unica crítica que tenho e com relação a DLC torna que é claramente mais polida, creio que faltpi um caprichos a mais no jogo base pra ele ser tao belo quanto a DLC

    2. I have to say that "Side Quests" is the place where this game is the most superior than other games. It is not simply asking you to go to a certain place to beat something and get something and give them to someone, but rich side stories and goals.
    3. The team puts their heart and mind into design the map. It is not a simple flat map, but a three-dimensional map with high and low drops and full of details. The scenery is magnificent, and makes people desire to explore the secret realm.
    4. Japanese style story, The content's length is very rich. Without neglecting any major role, the character of each role is portrayed vivid.
    5. Through the intimacy side quests plot, a lot of blade bring their personalities to life.

    unlike the opinion of most xenoblade fans... for me this is the best game in the franchise until 2021. an authentic masterpiece, which gets you into a fantastic world full of charisma and has a very good gameplay. you must play it !!

    I dont know if you like rpgs or japan, but this game is THE game, brutal soundtrack, history, characters, if you own a switch you must consider putting your hands on this gem, you would not regret it.

    Best game available on Nintendo Switch. Was looking for a new game, and this had good reviews. Bought it, was not disappointed. I have around 400h ingame, and every hour spent was 100% worth it. Amazing music

    One of my favourite games.

    Xenoblade 2 introduced me to the franchise and it made me stay.

    The main characters are the best cast I’ve seen.

    The only issue I can see with Rex is relatability (seriously, who here grew up in a village, worked from 10 years old giving to his family, and has three blade wives?), other than that, a character you may not like, but respect his actions.

    Pyra and Mythra’s arcs are great and show mental health and depression in a new light. Their designs aren’t as bad as everyone says they are (their Smash designs are better though). Maybe if you hate Rex, look from Pyra and Mythra’s perspective, rather than your own.

    Actually, Pyra and Mythra’s true form, Pneuma, fixes a lot of the design issues that Pyra and Mythra had. Pneuma is best girl.

    The other characters like Nia, Poppi, and Zeke are super enjoyable to watch.

    Malos is epic. Man literally has ‘Chad’ energy and it feels acceptable here. Jin also has a good arc, remembering his driver and not wanting to forget and die.

    The side quests and extra blades are… strange? Maybe because they were designed by completely different people.

    The Torna DLC provides insight to why Mythra and Jin are the way they are.

    Xenoblade 2 is great, and I’m tired to pretending it’s not.

    Many people may disagree when I say this but this game is a masterpiece that is better than the first game in almost every way. The story could be a little better and maybe some designs could be less "shut off the TV when mom comes in the room", but these are flaws that I can very easily overlook. Despite a weaker story than the first game, there's still plenty of great moments. Side Quests can be repetitive but who cares about that when they give you a reason to explore the game more and fight more of its enemies. There also genuinely good side quests, like the Blade Quests that give you insight on some of the optional characters in the game. The combat is amazing. I can be hard to wrap your head around at first but its really deep and some of the super bosses can be really hard but satisfying to topple. I consider it one of the 2017 Switch greats along with Breath Of The Wild and Odyssey. Pick it up if you haven't. You wont regret it.… Expand

    Character design is pretty bad, story is good but not on the same level of the first Xenoblade, but everything else concerning gameplay is absolutely better(sub quests for example)

    Really wonderful game - from music, through characters and story, to wonderful world, for me this game is one of a kind, and i can't wait for the next title from Monolith, great job guys. Btw Pyra was my first Waifu, pretty weird actually since i never cared about those things, but i was really in love in her, amazing game.

    I'll be honest, the beginning of this game is pretty boring. You need to have time to play up to chapter 4 for the story to really start going and grab you, but when that happens this game is one of the best out there.

    One of the best games of all time along with Zelda Twilight Princess and Fire Emblem Three Houses. The Story, Gameplay and Graphics are all top notch. You cant get a better RPG then this.

    I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 a year after the game was released. It was also my first Xenoblade game so i had absolutely no idea what i was getting into. After watching videos on gameplay, it seemed like a game i was not going to like so much, but i went ahead and still gave it a shot. The story, character development is what really brought my attention. If you are a fan of jrpg's then this game is a must.     Este es un juego realmente complejo, un sistema de combate brutal y que la prensa no supo darle su tiempo y entenderlo... no comprendo como ponen a evaluar juegos JRPG de este estilo a personas que no saben nada de la historia del genero.
    XC2 es de los mejores rpg de la historia, sin duda... incluso a la altura de lo que fue FFVI o Chrono Trigger.
    Debes probarlo si o si!

It has some big flaws, like a slow start, bad tutorials, and horrible visual character designs, but the good parts of the game were so good, that despite all the issues that would completely ruin any other game, I was still able to enjoy this game.
    Gameplay-wise, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 follows a similar philosophy as the first game, but with a lot of changes, that make the gameplay feel like a new experience.
    One of my main issues with JRPG’s is that a lot of times, you will need to grind, especially if you are focused on the main story. However, in this game, you almost never need to do that. Even if you are under-leveled it always feels like you have a fighting chance. Unlike the first game, where enemies that are more than 5 levels above you feel impossible to beat without special items, in this game you can be quite behind in levels compared to the enemy, but if you have developed your blade affinity charts and have ok items, it always feels like you have a chance, by making slight changes to your strategy.
    Furthermore, even if you are the type of player that tends to do every single side quest before fighting the first boss, you will not be significantly overleaved, as part of your exp is stored as bonus exp, that doesn’t add up to your actual exp, and can be consumed in inns. Essentially you have control over your level. Lastly, with the addition of challenge land with the DLC, the game truly tests your understanding of the mechanics, and you are encouraged to come out of your comfort zone and use different setups.
    Sound design: xc2 has probably my favourite soundtrack of any game. The music always matched up to the area you were travelling, or the boss you were trying to face. And then there are tracks like drifting souls, which are true masterpieces (speaking of drifting, Nintendo, pls fix joy-con drift). Lastly, although the voice acting starts off bad, and improves later on (the screaming of the main protagonist remains bad until the final 5 minutes of the game, unfortunately), the Bri’ish accents are refreshing, compared to the more commonly used American voice acting in other video games, and give help differentiate between the different races.
    Story: Without spoiling much, the story starts slowly, and has a lot of cringe scenes, which can be a turn off for a lot of players, focusing mainly on developing the characters. But by the end, I felt like this was one the best stories in any game, worthy of being a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles. While the first game focused mostly and developing the main character, xc2 does a great job of developing the story of all characters of your party, which made me much more interested in the story of the game, and how their characters arc concluded.
    Conclusion: This game has some flaws that can potentially push off a lot of people, but for my money, this is the best game I have ever played. I would recommend this game to fans of long JRPG’S, and especially people who like the first Xenoblade.    … Expand

    My favorite game on the switch. I love the characters, and the combat is very in-depth and addicting. You will easily get more than 50 hours of gameplay. Worth every dollar.

    In my opinion, this is the strongest Xenoblade Chronicles game. Everything from the Characters to the OST are such big improvements that it's hard for me to give this game anything but praise. The game does have it's fair share of issues, I will admit that, but I'm willing to overlook those flaws for the simple fact this is just a good game.

I have played through 3 times now. This was my introduction to Xenoblade, and I have since played through: Torna, XCDE, and Futures Connected. There are only 2 bad things I can think about it: One is English VAs are terrible but you can use JP VAs. The other one is the game starts very slow and builds up as you progress. But second part is somewhat common in JRPG genre anyways. And it's very well worth the time you put into it. It has goodAn absolutely amazing game with tons of content. Story, gameplay and music all are amazing. There are only 2 bad things I can think about it: One is English VAs are terrible but you can use JP VAs.     It's the first Xenoblade game I played, the one that made me like the saga, the gacha system didn't seem heavy, 3 hours of farming allowed me to get all the characters. A game with a lot of content.

    For me, this is the best game in the Xenoblade franchise, The OST is absolutely stunning, the game's best characters are some of the best in all of gaming, the world and overall worldbuilding are incredible, and the gameplay, once you can figure out the combat, is ridiculously fun. I can always rely on this game's OST to bring a smile to my face with how absolutely stunning it is. TheFor me, this is the best game in the Xenoblade franchise, The OST is absolutely stunning, the game's best characters are some of the best in all of gaming, the world and overall worldbuilding are incredible, and the gameplay, once you can figure out the combat, is ridiculously fun.     Ame este juego, de los primeros juegos que jugué en la switch, me encanta los personajes, la cantidad de blades que existen, el sistema de combate, hacer cadenas, combos, es un juego que me sorprendió mucho cuando lo jugué. El sistema de gatcha no me disgusto, no es tan complicado como muchos mencionan, solo hay que farmear en el lugar correcto y de la manera correcta.

    Great game. My favorite part of the game is the story, but the gameplay is great too. The characters are really really amazing, especially pyra, mythra, and jin. People say that the English voice acting is horrible, but it's not that bad aside from a few screams, and the English voice actors were rushed bc the game wasn't meant to be released in English.     For years, I had stated that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 was my favorite game of all time. Now, having played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I think this might take the cake. I think the OST was better this time around, better graphics (duh, newer system), story was equally good if not better, better combat system and more memorable characters. I absolutely loved it and I hope you will too (it doesn'tFor years, I had stated that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 was my favorite game of all time.     One of the best games I have ever played, genuinely. To start this game sure while it takes a bit to actually get the plot going, when the plot gets going, IT REALLY GETS GOING. And becomes one of my favorite video game stories along with the characters, who I absolutely love. The combat system is interesting and very fun even if the game itself doesn't explain it well, Once you get the hang of it...it becomes layered and interesting in a way that no other game can replicate for me because of how different it is. Overall Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of the best games I have ever played and it will be hard to top with how much it means to me and I beg of you to check it out and experience it for yourself.… Expand

    Great continuation with its overwhelmingly great soundtrack and complex combat system. It's world is as big as an MMORPG. The Story-DLC is also a whole new game.

    The weakness of the game is the one switch plattform itself: the graphics.

    The game might be a bit long but it's fun and the story is amazing the gameplay it's very good and tad bit repetitive but fun.

    All the characters are likeable.
    I personally liked it more than the first and the graphics are beautiful.

    A pure marvel! I can't give this game a perfect score however... Just because Xenoblade Chronicles is better than this one. In fact, the gameplay of Xeno 2 is way better. But the world and the story of Xeno 1 had a huge impact on me. That's not exactly the case with Xeno 2. A great story, but "lacking" in a sense... comparing to the first game of the saga.     World exploration is great and there are chests hiding all over to find.

    Positives:
    + Graphics.. even though people talk about lower resolution.. world and design is great IMO.
    + Music.. I hear they are doing a Vinyl and its needed.
    + Main Character design
    + Fighting mechanics
    + Exploration ( lots of hidden goodies)
    + Crate system which is used to acquire party member.. in game currency .. not real money.

    Not many negatives but here goes a few.
    - World doesn't open up for a few hours.. Might make some think game is not as great as it becomes with patience.
    - Some NPC character models are very generic and not unique like all main characters.
    - Some people may not enjoy the English voice overs.. the game contains a lot of voice acting and the good part is you can change to Japanese voice and use English subtitles. I just kept it English and enjoyed it completely.
    - Some issues with being able to locate certain quest objectives as the map system needs work. ( Dec 22nd 2017 will come the patch that supposedly fixes this and makes some nice improvements)

    Tried the first game on 3ds but gave up after 20 odd hours of running round lost. Gave X about 4 hours on wi u but couldn’t get into it at all. The story and the characters of this one however had me hooked long enough to learn all the mechanism I really enjoy the battle and upgrade systems.

The map and level design will frustrate you at time, the platforming mechanics are poor and unfortunately there are areas where you need to walk narrow paths or time jumps.

    But aside from all this, it’s an absolutely amazing game, one that after 20 hours in I couldn’t put down.    … Expand

Constant 1-3 hit deaths from wandering high level creatures when I was engaged in an already close battle had become the norm. I was starting to hate the game but stuck with it.     GotY 2017. Great gameplay, great combat, great music, great environments, great story, and great characters. Took one point off because I would have preferred they kept the slightly less anime artstyle of Xenoblade Chronicles X, the combat is slower than I'd like, and they put absolutely no effort into trying to match the english voices to the character mouth movements.

    -Heart to Heart (Loved the choices and how each one plays out! Some are comedic while some are learning more about everyone in general)

    Meh Meh:
    -Blade Summoning (Its integral to the story and I'm fine with it; the problem is getting rare blades in general and it involves a lot of a luck) ---> Maybe about the same as FGO xD
    -Side Quests (Pretty much what you find in almost every game; pretty inconsistent in terms of the how good the side quests are)
    -----> Pretty much walk back and forth

    I could spend a lot of time talking about in depth of every single thing but it would take ages to write xD

    Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a masterpiece for me
    It is not a game for everyone since there are some complex mechanics especially the battle system where you have to spend a lot of time in it to master

    I highly recommend it to those who have a switch and are looking for a JRPG masterpiece cause it definitely was one kind of an experience that I will not forget

    If you're a fan of JRPG, there is no reason to miss this game!!!

    If you cannot get it; at least watch the cut scenes and/or listen to the music!!! It's seriously that good

    Congrats Monolith and thank you for making such an incredible game!! Looking forward to what you guys make next!!!

    En opinión personal prefiero este Xenoblade 2 que el Xenoblade de Wii motivos es que es un juego mas atrapante y con una historia más desarrollada que el xenoblade de Wii, sin embargo no le voy a quitar merito al juego de Wii, pero debo de decir que se siente una evolución muy bien implementada.
    -Vale la pena comprar-
    Ahí dejo los pros y contras:
    PROS.
    -Sistema de combate complejo.
    -Historia interesante.
    -Una exploración inmensa.
    -Variedad de estrategias para derrotar un enemigo.

    -Bajones de FPS en modo portátil.
    -El protagonista en ocasiones lo quieres ahorcar.
    -Misiones secundarias poco interesantes o repetitivas.

    outstanding game..
    loses a percent for frame rate as it does actually make difference when salvaging to get the 'excellent' on all the timed hits.. the lag is a switch issue tho not the game

    Incredibly vast game, much more like XC1 than XCX, a return to a heavy focus on story and characters. Stellar soundtrack and amazing environments with a great sense of scale. The way it ties into XC1 will blow your mind...MonolithSoft lives up to the expectations.

El sistema de combate es bastante complejo, comparándolo con la entrega de wiiPuro sucesor de xenoblade chronicles, no le he dado 10 porque llevo apenas 11 horas pero puedo decir que la BSO está a la altura del xenobladde chronicles de wii. Gráficamente es una maravilla, lógicamente contemplando el software de switch(mas atenuado este en su modo portátil) y artísticamente impresionante. El sistema de combate es bastante complejo, comparándolo con la entrega de wii es abrumador, tiene infinitamente mas mecánicas. El sistema de BLADES es espectacular y los personajes tanto protagonistas como antagonistas están a la altura de la saga, carismáticos y con una historia detrás abrumadora.

Without getting into spoilers I'll just say this - the whole sequence after the final boss made me cry like a baby.

    The gameplay is magnificent. The battle system became easier, in comparison with the original, but in return it brought more variety to the fights by inclusion of combos and switchable blades. In addition to usual sidequests there blade quest, which are given to you either by your unique blades, or by unique blades in the world. Unlike the regular ones, these sidequests contain their own fully voiced cutscenes and subplots, which help to develop blades' characters. And I never had a need to grind. I was strong enough to overcome every challenge game threw at me by just playing at my own pace. It wasn't easy, but it also wasn't impossible and I never stopped just to grind couple levels, like in the end of the original XC.

    The world is gorgeous. It's not as original and fascinating as Bionis, but still manages to impress. And like in the original exploration is rewarded. Locations are still highly atmospheric, and while the game uses a lot of old enemies, it present lots of new ones, who are not inferior in design. Also, like in the original you will encounter mini-bosses much stronger than you. Yes, Territorial Rotbart is in the game.

    The music is awesome. I won't speak about it. Just go and listen. In my opinion soundtrack surpasses original game's.

    But there are some technical problems. One time the game didn't end the battle, when all the enemies were dead, and I had to reboot it. Also while playing in docked mode textures are loading slowly when you fast-travel from titan to titan, and for couple seconds you may stand in the center of non-existent world. These are minor details, which won't ruin the fun you'll have with the game, but still I have to mention them. Also, no new game+. I know, that it would have been hard to realize, considering the opening chapter and blade-system, but still I miss this option.

    So, this game is amazing. After the credits rolled I wanted to play it all again immediately, but sadly, there is no new game+, at least for the time being.    … Expand

    It is definitely a great game in story, music, characters and most of the time in Eng dub VA. (along with great looking worlds)
    Now early on the game, it felt a bit like a slow burn, not much going on and the fights u could just left on auto and not have much challenge and only gave the occasional input. But once u get past chapter 4 or 5 is when the combat really turns up a notch, and    It is definitely a great game in story, music, characters and most of the time in Eng dub VA. The game starts getting harder and require u to put more and more input, and once u reach chapter 7 is when u always need to have a watchful eye on the combat with regular input, almost active, to make sure u don't fail. (and this is from me keeping my characters at their highest levels from frequent short sleeping level ups in inns.) From most of the reviews I read here from people who only got put off by the combat were mostly in the 1st 3 chapters or so, and I must say their view is valid since the 1st 1/3rd of the games combat is pretty...meh at best, almost sloggish. But honestly the combat in that part of a game felt more like a big tutorial for when u get to chapter 5 and forward, it gets better. But I can understand not many people will like the combat still, even after getting past chapter 4. To me I just wanted the combat to make me give more input and pay attention to win to entertain me, and it does that at the halfway point in the game....imo anyways. (yes its mostly repetitive but, again, it didn't bother me and I enjoyed it.)

    Now the English dub is almost 50/50 with people, with some saying its great and others saying its horrible, but honestly from my opinion the dub is pretty good most of the time with a few hiccups here and there. Early on like the 1st 3 chapters, the acting felt more decent at best, like it almost felt like a 1st take or early on in recordings. But honestly after ch.3 it improved more and more, Rex's VA starts putting a lil more emotion, even though imo he still needs to add a bit more, so I grew to like his VA-ing. He does however seem to have issues with screaming, yelling (falling/attacking) and sometimes crying in his VA-ing. His VA-ing is however good most of the time outside of these scenarios. (his eng VA was at its best in the final chapter where he yells and cries pretty well) Now Nia's I liked more with her Welsh accent tbh, I liked it more than the more typical loli cat girl VA-ing I hear in Japanese dubs from anime and such. (and tbh she doesn't look loli to me, more like small bodied) Now Morag's and Zeke's VA-ing is really great, I liked Morag's more sophisticated tone and was pretty believable, where with Zeke's his sound pretty on point with his characters personality with his ego and cringey self. Love them alot with Morag might be my most fav. character in the game. Now Pyra's VA is good imo, some ppl say its bad but honestly I cant hear it. She puts just enough emotion in her character that makes it pretty believable of who she is, that timid-ness while also having a backbone.

    Now the music is what I really love about this game, most of it just fits very well with the world and each location having its own theme that reflects what the place is about. From the lively, bombastic feel of the Argentum trade guild that gives off a bustling trade center, to the more catchy and also lively melodic of an open field of nature, of the Gormott province. and later in the game u will start hearing some xenosaga-like music that i'm sure some older fans would appreciate, well that's what the music sounded to me.

    Now the story I really enjoyed and early on it did feel kind of anime trope heavy (almost fanservice-y), but after chapter 5 is where it started getting more serious and the tropes started becoming less and less. Now I find myself putting the story quality of this to rivaling Xenoblade 1's story, its pretty good. and don't worry theirs a few plot twists for y'all. ;)

    Anyways this game is a near masterpiece that I really enjoyed and felt very nostalgic with the 1st xenoblade. It will have some great music and locations to explore that will immerse u in this world of Alrest. It has some hiccups in acting (Eng dubs) and the graphics are great imo, even though not many people will like the resolution of the game in handheld (600p and rarely drops down to 364p) and with data streaming issues when fast traveling to other provinces where you're still seeing some assets and textures loading in. (they should just cover those up with longer load times imo). Hopefully u will enjoy this game as much as I did and not many would like some of the classic takes of JRPGs of old, but imo this game is up there for some of my top 5 favorites for 2017. I recommend this game very highly to any old and new school JRPG fans. (Even MMORPG fans since the game does incorporate a good few into itself.)

    Juegazo precioso y con una bella historia. No hagan caso a los idiotas haters, notas por debajo de 7 no son creíbles, es un juego de 9.5 a 10. Buena jugabilidad, es un sistema complejo pero está muy bien explicado y se aprende enseguida, muy intuitivo. Banda sonora maravillosa, increíble. Para mí un 10.

    Для тех, кто играл только в Xenoblade и Xenoblade X, эта часть будет в чем то даже хуже них, но для поклонников MonolithSoft, которые застали первые части этой серии, Xenoblade 2 будет просто праздником:

    Xenoblade 2 - это игра, в которой гора фансервиса и дебильных моментов стоят бок о бок с глубочайшим и мрачным сюжетом, который затрагивает не только множество стран, но и отсылает на события, которые происходили много сотен лет назад.

    В которой совершенно невменяемое обучение и интерфейс + огромное перенасыщение механиками, но глубочайшая боевая система и большое разнообразие тех самых механик.

    Если объективно сравнить её с оригинальным Ксеноблейдом, то в этой части просто отвратительная оптимизация, вызванная в главную очередь тем, что большинство программистов из самой MonolithSoft в то время работали надо Зельдой.
    Так же в первой половине игры очень сильное перенасыщение фансервисом. Понятное дело, что разработчики таким образом хотели создать огромную разницу между первой и второй половиной игры, но они с этим переборщили.

    Зато в этой части отличные основные персонажи и великолепные злодеи
    (а так же опять перебор с пасхалками на Xenogears), за исключение двух главных героев в лице Рекса и Пайры, они отвратительны и являются главным минусом игры.

    Так же в игре присутствует несколько стран(в английской озвучке у всех разный акцент даже), даже политота имеется, все в лучших традициях Ксеногирс и Ксеносаги.

    Сама игра очень сильно проходится по темам войны и жертв этой самой войны, экспериментов над людьми, ущемление церковью, а так же многое другое.

    Для фанатов MonolithSoft это определённо будет лучшей и их игрой со времён первого эпизода Ксеносаги.

    На данный момент в игре наиграно 165 часов, игра пройдена 2 раза и до сих пор не надоедает.

    Одна из лучших игр современности и определенно одна из лучших Action-RPG игр.    … Expand

    I'm not a fan of Japanese RPG's, but this game surprised me. I don't even like Anime, but i don't hate the character design, in fact, I like most of the character designs in this game. (Some of them are quite generic, but it's not something to really worry about)

    It's not a 10 because some characters are generic, while it has a nice combat style, it's not the best for me, and I hate the clumsy animations when they're talking in a cutscene, they're like robots, the only good thing about that is I don't look all the time to them, cause I'm busy reading the subtitles. (Oh, also the English dub is, in most of cases, de-sync and pure trash. You'll probably need to download the Japanese voice patch from the eShop)    … Expand

    A valuable piece of art, the new engine is good but needs to be refined as Takahashi's said. The story is awesome, the vanilla game is nothing compared to this, it's very awesome and dramatic, the gameplay is now more smuth and tactical. I'm simply loving it

    Before I start this review, let me make it clear that I am not a big fan of Japanese RPG's, and for a lot of different reasons. Most of them utilize turn-based combat, which is something I almost always really don't like, but even when they don't, I find them to be too weird for my taste. But Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the few JRPG franchises that I love, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 isBefore I start this review, let me make it clear that I am not a big fan of Japanese RPG's, and for a lot of different reasons. Most of them utilize turn-based combat, which is something I almost always really don't like, but even when they don't, I find them to be too weird for my taste. But Xenoblade Chronicles is one of the few JRPG franchises that I love, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is no exception.

    The story of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is great, as it includes a very memorable cast of characters and many interesting and shocking plot elements. If you were disappointed with the story of Xenoblade Chronicles X, don't worry, this game has a story that is leagues better than the previous one. Though, it does get off to a very rough start, as the first 2 chapters are not very impressive in the story department. But, believe me, once you get past that point, the story and characters completely explode in quality and make the first 5-10 hours so worth it. I won't go much more in depth on the story, as you really should experience it for yourself, but I will warn you that the last couple chapters include some very shocking and unexpected moments that you will never forget. And what happens, you may ask? Play the game and find out.

    Now, I would like to discuss the negative parts of this game, because this game can certainly be bad in places. Firstly, as I said before, the early chapters (1 & 2) are rather lackluster and really failed to impress me. Throughout these chapters, the combat is rather dull, most of the characters feel very stereotypical, and, worst of all, the game has technical problems in the early areas, which include slowdown and framerate drops throughout a lot of the second area, Gormott. Thankfully, these problems seem to have been mostly fixed now, but they definitely were a problem closer to launch. Secondly, and this is a subjective choice, but I am not a fan of the art style of this game, as the previous two game had art styles that helped them feel more ambiguous (like a combination between western and Japanese RPG's), whereas this one looks way too anime-like for my taste. Speaking of which, this game includes some very weird and cringe-inducing moments within the earlier chapters, and some of them even made me want to stop playing for a while. They become less and less prevalent as the game progresses, but still, they feel out of place one way or another.

    Even though this game has some very low points, the high points do so much more than just make up for them. First, once you get past chapter two, this games combat system becomes so addictive and fun, as it not only allows the player to use a variety of different fighters but just feels that perfect refinement of typical Xenoblade combat. Even now I still cannot get of the combat in this game, and I don't think it will ever grow stale for me. Next, the areas of this game, which are referred to as "Titans," are very memorable and well-designed, as most of them are open to exploration and include many different side quests to complete. Some of the most memorable titans include Gormott, Uraya, Tantal, and Leftherian Archipelago. Also, the character development in this game is absolutely amazing, as most of the characters go from being typical JRPG characters to unique and loveable characters throughout the course of the story. I won't mention any names, as I really want to avoid spoiling anything, but just remember not to be so quick to judge any of the characters in this game. Some other excellent parts of this game include fun and challenging super bosses, large affinity charts to complete for each character, memorable side quests and seemingly endless customizations to give.

    In conclusion, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, when its at its best, it is a top-notch RPG. However, thanks to its shortcomings, I cannot give this game any higher than a 9/10. If they would've given us a better early game and more realistic art style, then I easily could've given this game a 10/10. But, you know, this is still a fantastic game, and I highly recommend that every JRPG fan picks this game up, as you will not be disappointed.    … Expand

    A fight with an ordinary enemy whose level is slightly higher can drag on for minutes, especially if you’re fighting it alone. The combat itself is also rife with problems: sometimes main character even fails to draw his weapon, or locks onto a far-off enemy, while another already is eviscerating him in close combat.
