Apr 14, 2025For a kid's game, Ufouria: The Saga 2 is certainly going to capture the imaginations of its target audience. Fans of the original Ufouria are likely in their late 30s to early 40s and will likely find this to be a very safe and by-the-numbers languid platformer. Anyone who enjoys the likes of Kirby will feel right at home with this surreal and charming Metroidvania, but those that have grown tired of the genre will be better off looking elsewhere for thrills.

Mar 19, 2024It's been a long while between Ufouria games. Even If you haven't played the original, The Saga 2 is a fun time. The cute art style combined with some old-fashioned platforming and charming and funny interactions between the cast of Mr Hebe and his friends makes for a good playthrough. While the pace can be off at times, and the last few areas of the game lead to a little too much backtracking, overall, it doesn't keep it from being an enjoyable platformer that will leave you with a smile.

Feb 28, 2024If you’re a fan of ’90s action platform games, there’s something mildly magical about this. Ufouria 2’s sunny world of papercraft and textile-built apparatus is endearing and fun. Its playfulness and zanier elements more recall the era of the Super Nintendo than the NES, and its laid-back approach to linear Metroid-style adventuring is plainly fun. It doesn’t ask much from you except to enjoy a little exploration, a very moderate amount of backtracking through very short zones, and an undemanding task of coin collecting as you go. But its reward cycle has an addictive quality, if little else. It’s not going to fulfil everyone’s desires, and its ease might feel underwhelming to some, but those looking for a new adventure in a very 16-bit fashion will feel well served.

Feb 28, 2024Ufouria: The Saga 2 leaves you with mixed feelings, even if you can get something out of the cute felt graphics and nostalgic fans will certainly get their money's worth, the game does have some negative points. Unfortunately, the music is absolutely annoying and for inexperienced jump and run players, the game experience quickly becomes repetitive and frustrating. It is therefore only recommended for experienced or very patient players.
