    Ty’s return doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but it doesn’t have to. This is a warm reminder of just how much fun classic 3D platformers were and is the perfect game for anyone with fond memories of the genre.

    Simply put, TY the Tasmanian Tiger HD will make you feel like it's 2002 all over again. For fans of retro 3D platformers, this is a wonderful thing although modern gamers may find it to be a bit too old-school to thoroughly enjoy.

    None of these irritants break the game, though, and I did have a lot of fun with Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD. Having not played the original I got to enjoy something retro-styled from a genre that is effectively dead, and while I never got along well with collect-a-thon, it was still a big part of my youth so there was an inherent nostalgia there. I also loved that this is a genuine product of Australia, with Australian humour and culture depicted throughout. Krome Studios' classic might not have the profile of a Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, but anyone wondering why this got a HD re-release needn't. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger certainly belongs on modern consoles, and it would be lovely for the franchise itself to be resuscitated at some point.

    Ty being a game from nearly two decades ago is tough to be too harsh on. The remaster was about bringing it to current platforms, it still plays like an old GameCube game. It’s a nice bit of nostalgia revisiting a genre that nowadays is mostly reserved for games looking back at those games. You can’t go wrong if you want to have a bit of Australian video game history, or even just want to help show there’s a demand for remasters of the second and third game. If you're looking for a platformer that takes you back to the ‘good ol days’ of 3D platformers then Ty is a true blue dinky-di ripper.

    Though not quite as accomplished as the recent Spyro and Crash Bandicoot remasters, TY the Tasmanian Tiger HD still delivers an enjoyable Aussie-themed adventure. The new visuals are great, but some camera angle fixes and a few more gameplay updates would have been appreciated. However, this is a game that will easily 'TY' you over until the next big release, especially if you're a fan of the original game.

    My Childhood game is back! had to pick this one up! I’m only about 3 hours in and it such a great upgrade from the original version back in 2002

With this current version of the game, you get to see Ty in all of his boomerang glory- with stunning yet original voice-acting, decent visuals, and excellent retro 3d-platforming. Some gripes could be that the shadows look somewhat pixelated, like as they did in the original. However, the few complaints about the game do not take away from the joy of going through this journey all over again. This is a welcoming version for both veteran fans and newcomers, equipped with surprisingly fun boomerang throwing mechanics that take full advantage of the Joycons gyroscope.… Expand

    Really good 3D platformer. I’ve only found 2 glitches which is a miracle for a PS2 port. It’s not Banjo on Switch or Odyssey 2 but it’s stillReally good 3D platformer.     Ty the Tasmanian Tiger hd is an HD remaster of a 2002 3d platformer where you play as a Tasmanian tiger set in the Australian wilderness.
    With one goal, get the talisman and save the mamals from being wiped out, and to aid you in this quest is your trust boomerang.
    Ty the Tasmanian tiger is an 8 and a half hour long collectathon, youre put onto a map, and your goal is to run around, find tasks to complete and by doing these various tasks such as racing the clock, or just simply figuring out how to get to a spot amond other things youll be rewarded with a thunder eggs, items you need a certain ammont of to move onto that sections boss battle… and each of this games maps are fun and varied, they all feel different with hteir own personality, really stopping this gme from ever feeling like a bore or a chore, its actually quite satisfying going over every inch of a level, collecting all of its orbs, finding the 5 rodents, swimming through its waters, dodging its crocks like my good ol buddy steve Erwin, collecting cogs to unlock new boomerangs… ty the Tasmanian tiger is a blast from start to finish,
    That being said this is a 2002 3d platformer and feels like such, floating and stiff feeling platforming at times, awkward controls when swimming, awful camera controls.. everything that plagued most games from this time, and no way to go into and fix to bring them up to todays standards…
    another thing that wasn’t fixed was the cutscenes… this is again a remaster, not a remake.. so you have to deal with the awkward grainy transitions of yesteryear.
    Even with these problems, ty the Tasmanian tiger hd proves to be just as fun to playthrough as it used to be and game I highly recommend to collectathon fans.
