    I'm not really into tactical RPGs, but I still love this game. The story is extremely enthralling and the characters are well written. The music is amazing as well. If this wasn't a tactical RPG, it would be one of my favorite games of all time.

    Fire Emblem but with a slightly more mature story. It's still full of cliches and certain small things are annoying, like the three dots slowly appearing on screen during conversations to show some weird Japanese "im in deep thoughts / i'm surprised" emotion, that gets shown way too often and animates way too slow and is not skipable with buttons. But those are minor things. Battle is fun,Fire Emblem but with a slightly more mature story.     This game is epic its the best game I've played on switch it's right up there with breath of the wild for me . Sad thing is hardly anyone will have the patience to play it

    I don't rate games often- only when I adore them so much I feel like shouting from the rooftops, or hate them so much I need to vent. Triangle Strategy has turned out to be quite the hidden gem. It's way better than Octopath Traveler or Bravely Default 2. The gameplay is immaculate.  The story and characters and dialog is gripping and enthralling. Chapters 1-3 start off a bit slow, as itI don't rate games often- only when I adore them so much I feel like shouting from the rooftops, or hate them so much I need to vent. Triangle Strategy has turned out to be quite the hidden gem. It's way better than Octopath Traveler or Bravely Default 2. The gameplay is immaculate.  The story and characters and dialog is gripping and enthralling. Chapters 1-3 start off a bit slow, as it properly sets the table for what's to come. Then it pops off in Chapter 4, and it's full tilt from there on out! I haven't felt this enamored with an srpg in years. Probably since Fire Emblem Awakening. It's SO GOOD!!! It's so dang good. I daydream about playing this game at work. That's how addicted I am. And it hits hard. The game isn't afraid to embrace gritty war and death. Not like those games that are too afraid to let characters die. I HIGHLY recommend this game. I'm giving it the full 10/10. Games like this are extremely rare.… Expand

    This is coming from a person that hasn't completed a single Strategy game:

    The story and the llite the characters give almost always has me speculating one what they will do next. The "Scales of Conviction" leading the story to different paths is such an amazing concept, which makes this game have tons of replayability.     Music is a huge part in my decision of getting a game and this OST is off the charts especially the lyrical version of the main theme for this game.

    - Amazing Tactical RPG.
    - Great Number of characters.
    - More than one ending and your choices along the road DO matter.
    - easy to level up your characters.
    - Great abilities each character is truly unique in their own way.
    - all characters have personality with side story
    Pretty sure Fire emblem fans will love it.
    The Conviction and voting system is fun.
    Voice acting is spot on

    Game far exceeded my expectations for something close to Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactic Ogre. I'm not saying it's better than those, but I have to absolutely celebrate the human grounded story and characters that oh so remind me of those amazing tactical games of yesterday, someone finally got it right. I enjoy the combat and quips a lot as well. Immerse yourself in this game and it'sGame far exceeded my expectations for something close to Final Fantasy Tactics or Tactic Ogre.     What a wonderful story-driven game. If you like books, you don‘t shy away from medieval themes and you always wanted to be able to influence the story, this game is for you. I enjoyed the round-based tactics, the rpg elements just as much as I did the very good plot. Hope there is a successor in the works - well done, developers!

    The game is amazing. Story wise is very good and it has so many different paths you can take ( the game has 4 different endings ). it is probably the most interesting and good srpg out there both storywise and gameplay . Hope the make another title like that !

    Excellent gameplay with great story. The games allows a lot of choices with multiple different outcomes for replays. The story reminded me of game of thrones and gameplay was top tier. Any tactics fans need to play this.

    Nice game loop, great narrative its makes you engaged with the history. Levels are perfectly designed. Highly replayeable to complete all history lines. Another 10 turn based RPG strategy game from Square Enix.

    if you like RPG stories, this game is for you, yes this game had a very long story and i really mean that, the artstyle is also great, and the combat is so much fun, overall it seems that Square Enix really did a good job with this game

In the exploratory section, you look around a small area to talk to people and look for hidden items, depending on who you talk to and in what order, you can gather hidden information to be used in later desicions. After certain points in the game you will be faced with a decision. Here you will have to choose which one to make, and convince you advisors to agree. You make your arguments with any hidden knowledge you gained through you explosion, an take into account how your advisors think. Benedict is a very utilitarian and logical man, while Fredericka wants whatever brings less war and safety to the people of the people in the kingdom. You choices have significant impact on your war effort and the characters in your party. Triangle strategy may not be for everyone, but it is one of the best strategy RPGs in a long time.… Expand

    This game is criminally underrated. Review score should’ve at least been a 90 minimum. Great visuals. Amazing gameplay. Amazing characters and story paths. Amazing music. As a huge fire emblem fan I must say this is probably the best SRPG game you can get on switch.

    Im now in for about 8h and i really enjoy the game so far. Ofc. the long cutscenes are not always that interesting. Charcters have really unique skills and the story is rather interessting. Also the music is top-notch

    One of my favorite tactical/strategy games that's out for the switch, alongside Fire Emblem Three Houses. One of my only main issues is the inconsistent quality on the English voice acting. Some may get turned off by the long and exposition heavy cutscenes especially at the beginning, but I've personally enjoyed them.

I've played many other RPGs, both western and japanese with much worse stories and endless repetitive battles that somehow get praised for both. This game's story is high up there. The quality of the story also picks up as the game progresses where the player is presented with many morally ambiguous situations.

    Same goes for the battle system. Certainly could be more complex but every character has a distinct and unique role. Plus, the battles are curated, which means you don't have to grind endlessly. Story and character development also often occurs during the battles which is a nice touch.

    Together it creates a unique and adult-enough package which is contrary to a lot of other games that often get high scores now: meaningless lore building in drab worlds and little sense of mystery and imagination or games that are focused on annoying, unrealistic characters of high school motivations.    … Expand

    This game is amazing. Yeah there's lots of cut-scenes, but they have heart. By the time you've come to get to know the characters, you'll wish there were more "side-stories" as they're called. These gives you windows into each characters lives, even the side ones. While the cut-scenes are in depth, they can be skipped. I loved how each character has their own unique abilities, making whoThis game is amazing. Yeah there's lots of cut-scenes, but they have heart. By the time you've come to get to know the characters, you'll wish there were more "side-stories" as they're called. These gives you windows into each characters lives, even the side ones. While the cut-scenes are in depth, they can be skipped. I loved how each character has their own unique abilities, making who you choose to deploy even more important. Different routes add up to 4 playthroughs of the game (3 normal, one golden-path). I highly recommend this game to RPG lovers, and especially tactile gamers. Between the cut-scenes and battles, there are phases of exploration. Some people didn't like this, I found it appealing because each exploration phases has items littered around the map that grant pretty good abilities during battles. One such example is the vanguard scarf that always allows a certain unit to make the first move. Anyways, if you appreciate developers who make games in this genre, support them!… Expand

    Definitely something that you should get if you are a fan of Fire Emblem style games. It has a phenomenal story and interesting gameplay mechanics. It is very heavy on cutscenes, although many of them are optional. Fantastic music and memorable characters, but the voice acting is somewhat hit or miss. I'd say that the voice acting for most characters is actually very good especially theDefinitely something that you should get if you are a fan of Fire Emblem style games. It has a phenomenal story and interesting gameplay mechanics. It is very heavy on cutscenes, although many of them are optional. Fantastic music and memorable characters, but the voice acting is somewhat hit or miss. I'd say that the voice acting for most characters is actually very good especially the side characters, but mediocre performances from one or two of the main cast brings it down somewhat. Still, that's a very small detail in an otherwise great game. The only real complaint that I have is that I dislike the way that they handled new game plus. They made it so that characters start again at the level they were at when you finished the last playthrough. Enemies are also scaled up to these levels. The story is set up in a way that if you want to fully experience all of the routes, you have to play through the game multiple times. Naturally, your first instinct is to start a new run on new game plus. But I actually prefer to just start a brand new save file. This allows you to use characters that you didn't use on previous runs without them being so underleveled that you would have to spend a lot of time training them up to where they need to be. The difficulty spike even on just the first level of new game plus is also way too much. But this problem can be avoided just by starting a new game, so I still feel that this game is deserving of a 10.… Expand

    Best game I’ve played on switch so far, truly exceeded my expectations and took me to a while other world, the plot is very interesting indeed and keeps you on edge, got me in tears a few times and I can’t recommend this enough to fans of the genre, easily my favorite game for the year!

    Una historia intrigante, un sistema de combate "tactics" desafiante y muy bien elaborado, una excelente banda sonora y la toma de decisiones con sus múltiples caminos y finales lo hacen un gran juego para disfrutar cada minuto.

The story is great and is presented really well I find my self playing through just to see how the story unfolds, and there is some replay value as your game's campaign might have a different path based on your situational decisions. As for gameplay, it reminds me a lot of Tactics Ogre which is another classic SRPG, the skill/spell mechanics is a little different, you earn a TP every turn which you can use to perform skills/spells, The system has a lot of gameplay depth into it, many types of varying classes that you may find helpful in some battles depending on the conditions and battle ground, there is also the Kudos and Quietus Points that gives you situational advantages when battle seems hopeless, there is also the Encampment where you can prepare your troops for battle, purchasing items, kudos, quietuses, or be it upgrading class/skills/weapons or grinding them units levels up with the Mock Battles. The graphics and sounds are also pleasing, the art style is a beautiful mix of modern and retro pixel art, the music feels it belongs perfectly to the atmosphere of the game and most of the game is voice acted (some voices are good some are average) which adds to the overall quality. Overall this is a perfect gift for SRPG fans.… Expand

    Even though Tactics Ogre will be reborn to Switch, I still see Triangle Strategy as the spiritual successor to Tactics Ogre with modernized graphics, fully voice acted characters, scale of conviction to influence story arc, same beautiful art works on sprites and illustrations. Only thing missing is the recruitment of custom characters and customizing stats, however all the availableEven though Tactics Ogre will be reborn to Switch, I still see Triangle Strategy as the spiritual successor to Tactics Ogre with modernized graphics, fully voice acted characters, scale of conviction to influence story arc, same beautiful art works on sprites and illustrations. Only thing missing is the recruitment of custom characters and customizing stats, however all the available allied characters in the game have their own specialties and statistical focus that they can own certain roles in the battle and you can have up to 12 units in there doing their own thing to help achieve victory.… Expand

    This may be one of the best tactical JRPGs in some time, between the HD2D graphics, the excellent battle system, character building, deep story telling, and perfect pacing. This game gets hated on a lot but I personally think it’s one of the better titles on the Nintendo switch.

I still hold dear my memories of Norzelia and the historical intrigue between the Holy State of Hyzante, the Kingdom og Glenbrook and the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost. As we unlock characters, their stories and interactions can be seen at certain points in the story. Some characters join your party only if you choose a certain path, like General Avlora, forI've played the game some time ago. I still hold dear my memories of Norzelia and the historical intrigue between the Holy State of Hyzante, the Kingdom og Glenbrook and the Grand Duchy of Aesfrost. As we unlock characters, their stories and interactions can be seen at certain points in the story. Some characters join your party only if you choose a certain path, like General Avlora, for example. She's amazing as a unit and terrifying as an enemy. The combat, how to equip your roster and who to pick to clear a certain map are important choices to be taken into account. The positioning of your units in combat is as important as the use of terrain and weapons/magic/buffs to your advantage. The game has a lot of replayability because of different paths you can take. In subsequent playthroughs you get access to the choices you already made and then pick something else entirely and experience a part of the game you haven't seen before. The ng+ allows you to recruit more characters based on your convictions. If you enjoy the game, I'm sure you'll cross that bridge when you get there. I will visit Norzelia again soon.… Expand

    If you are a fan of FF Tactics, its a must.
    I gave it 10/10 because its a fantastic tactic game BUT you also need to like cutscenes and history because its like 65% of the game. So there is like 1h block of history then a fight and repeat.
    Also your choices MATTERS.

    I especially love the conviction and voting system. This might be the first game in which it truly feels like EVERY minor gameplay decision actually affects my experience later on. It's frustrating when I can't convince certain characters to go with my choice, but that's a great thing; all of the characters you meet have distinct personalities and motivations, and the game really lets them shine. Some voice actors aren't great (though some of them are excellent, and I appreciate the full voice acting!), and the decision to use medieval vocabulary and spellings feels rather silly sometimes, but it doesn't detract that much from my overall experience.

    Overall, this game is an instant classic for me, and I look forward to future entries for this type of strategy RPG.    … Expand

I really like the idea that the game pushes me to ask myself: will I push freedom or ethics? will i go ethicsFor the story, the game is really interesting.     Gameplay: the game is quite good but hard. Many situations have you on the "losing" side; enemies may have a bit of an advantage, and it's only using a "good" play you can compensate. Battles are often not lost when you lose some units, but lose too much and you will never win. So it's a little line on which one walk.
    I have felt the grind a bit, but it was very fun because it brings gold and materials you use to improve your weapons.

    Units have skills to improve and then "rank"; rank give them access to new skills, and weapins improvement allow you to do more with the skills you have already for all skills, or rarely, one specifics skill.    … Expand

    A perfect game which is similar to Octopath Traveler but with square tactics battle. I spent about 15 hours. Story is amazing with Jap sounds. Gameplay is great but i want more battles. Enjoyable for story and gameplay.

    If I had to sum this game up in three words it would be "THIS IS AWESOME" I highly recommend this game if you like final fantasy tactics or Fire Emblem 3 houses.
    Get it asap cause like Octopath I'm sure this is a limited release. I wanna give this game a 10 but I only dislike the class system but love it at the same time.

    Awful (and I mean AWFUL) voice acting. The dialogue and exposition is so clumsy. The progression system feels very restrictive. The economy of the game feels very unbalanced. It does not look nearly as good as Octopath Traveler

    Thoughts-
    Taken as a whole though, Triangle Strategy is an absolute triumph, to a greater degree than I could have ever expected, and in more ways than I could have ever expected. Not only is it a solid tactics RPG that should appeal to any and all genre fans, especially those that still look back fondly on Final Fantasy Tactics, it’s also got an engaging, ambitious, and layered story to tell, backed up by incredible world-building and interesting choices with actual weight and consequences. For all of these reasons and more, Triangle Strategy is easily one of the best tactics RPGs I’ve played in recent memory.    … Expand

    If you were ever a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics, give this one a go. It lives up to that legacy and even exceeds it. You have real choices here that impact the story in ways you can't predict. I got one of the endings and, woooah boy, they went all the way. Much respect for that.

Yes the voice over work is good and some charterers are pretty cool and if your lucky u can have a little bit of action in the battles. But i cant give this game a higher score, 3 is pushing it.     Phenomenal game with a great story line and so many political layers built on top that add suspense, excitement and surprise. The conviction mechanic is great and you have an affinity for the characters. Its very much like Game of Thrones. The battles themselves are absorbing.

    Cabe agregar que si no sos alguien que le guste leer ,tomarse su tiempo con el juego, explorar y analizar la historia y eres mas de los que que les gusta ir directo a la acción y la batallas el juego te parecerá muy lento y a lo sumo complejo y denso, pero es un titulo que realmente vale la pena darle una oportunidad.

The battle system is obviously where the game shines brightest and anyone familiar with grid based combat will be rightA true treat for fans of the tactical rpg genre.     This is essentially a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy Tactics in the same way that Bravely Default is a spiritual successor to the Final Fantasy series. Really good game. If you liked Final Fantasy Tactics you will like this too.

    Since I saw its cover, this game already caught me completely. A mature, serious, entertaining, captivating adventure that corners you with its triangular approach where you have to decide and it's difficult to do so, game mechanics that meet your expectations of strategy, and a very pleasant decent musical and graphic setting, to have a good time. Highly recommended.

    Best strategy game I have played in a while, highly recommend for SRPG fans.
    Narrative was surprisingly good and story choices felt impactful. I do feel a lot of the extra recruitable characters could have tied in better with the main story though.
    Tactics gameplay and octopath traveler style visuals work well here.
    Needs more recognition so we can get more games like this.

    I’m on 60 more hours spent on this, in the second run looking for the best ending.

    Is the perfect game for a Final Fantasy Tactics fan. The narrative is deep and absorbing and the combat system is really good. Of course, is not a game for everybody, you need to spend most of the time reading, but the lore is very interesting. You don’t have generic characters, is all about unique heroes with their exclusive job and skills.
    The playstyle between them is pretty different.

    A real gem and one of the must underrated games of 2022. It has gorgeous art, interesting and distinct party members, an intriguing story, and a challenging yet satisfying combat system. The biggest problem is probably the volume of cutscenes, though personally I wasn't bothered much.

I've just made an account to rate this game as I saw quite some bad reviews about to much text, because it's one of the best games I've played in years. Honestly, the first 2-3h if the game we're a bit tedious to get into and for some players the ratio between "story elements" and "exploration/fighting" is too heavy on dialogue. But the game rewards you with an intriguing story, very difficult choices that usually haunt you for the next hours with its ramifications and fun battles. Best gaming experience I've had for at least the last 5 years.

    PS: play the first game with choices by heart and then aim for the golden route in game+ playthrough
    PPS: utilize the encampment and mock battles as soon as they come available.    … Expand
