    The good:
    - Battle system scratched the FFT/Fire Emblem itch - diffficulty is on point, controls are great and the class system works well.
    - Music. Very well done here.

    The bad:
    - The game is basically graphic novela with a bit of action sprinkled around long cut-scenes. In comparison to FFTA & FFTA2 it feels hollow, backstories are just text-only scenes on maps you’ll never access in battle (so much wasted potential).
    - Story isn’t bootstrapped well - too many characters introduced too fast on top of the history lesson is not engaging at all.
    - The grind of getting to recommended level with the “bar fights” is just sad in comparison to richness of quests in FFTA series.
    - Flat characters - heroes are boring do-gooders, and baddies are literally Hitler.
    - The voting system - I know some people like it but I found it frustrating, especially with the esoteric conviction system backing it.

Written like a middle school fan fiction of the War of the Roses. While it picks up later in the game its still very poorly written and expects a LOT of the player to endure completely unneeded linguistic flourishes that are strewn about haphazardly and add nothing to the plot but run time

There is nothing about this game worth playing for. I seriously regret buying this for $60. It looks like the planedmic and all the masks sapped the brain out of the developers.

and that for me is a crucial point especially when it comes to a Tactical RPG. the game simply gives you a character ready, the only thing you equip on the characters are two accessories and nothing else, there is no armor, weapon, class change, and most of these accessories only increase attributes.
Its soundtrack is generic and far from the Square Enix quality standard.
If you like FF Tactics, Tactics Ogre or Disgaea, stay away from this game, few things are positive.
Triangle Strategy was a huge disappointment for me.

Literalmente no puedes elegir trabajos, habilidades, armas, nada.

Firstly there is the insane grind. You have to do way too many mock battles to level up so you stand a chance at fighting the main story missions. A mission will say recommended lv. 21, but there will be multiple enemies lv 23 and 2 levels make a massive difference in Triangle strategy. For a game that seems like there is lots of opportunity for replays, you will not want to as you have to grind way too much.

Then extra enemies that show up in missions. This is normally fine. Except in one mission, it results in a third of your force being wiped out with no chance to save them. When you need to have advanced knowledge to complete a mission you know the game is bad.

In one mission the Boss enemies and many of the regular enemies just sit there and don't take any action! What is the point of this? It serves no purpose. I really wish I waited to get a hard copy, but I made the mistake of buying a digital version.

It is not a good game and all these positive ratings are simply wrong!

I don't know who this game is for. For your time investment, you're rewarded with endless grinding, a boring story, subpar characters, and a game that feels more like bad fan fiction from a teen who just read The Fountainhead.

I can tell the people who made the game were passionate, but the end result is mostly bad. Pros:

-The music - which some people dislike? - is excellentz It reminds me of upgraded 16-bit soundtracks. A few songs are fantastic and 80% of the songs are above-average. My least favorite song is the victory music, which sounds less like you won a battle and more like you won a game of Scrabble. -The enhanced pixel-style art. It's colorful, moody, vibrant. The characters are fairly easy to identify and get attached to in pixel form.

-Some characters are cool. I liked Benedict, Anna, and Milo. I liked some of the bad guys. None are as memorable as a Final Fantasy game, but a few stand out. -I liked about half of the voice acting. Benedict sounds very wise and avuncular. I liked some of the villains' voices, too.

-I think the battles are top tier for a strategy game. There is so much to do. Nobody feels particularly overpowered or downright awful. And the skills are actually useful. For instance, Jens can add ladders to terrain. I like how Roland, who rides a horse and uses a lance, is most effective when flanking, which is a nice attempt to add some realism. I like the controls and UI, which are modern and user-friendly. -I like that adult themes are explored, like forcing you to make tough decisions and actually acknowledging that you are really killing people.

    Cons:

-The story is so long and boring that after 40 hours, I'm putting the game down. I only have a few chapters left but I can't stand another minute of this fake Shakespearean dialogue, which is littered with weird stuff like demesne and gaol, two words I've never seen in 4 decades on Earth, and that make no sense to use in a game that will mostly be played by 13 year olds. Hours and hours and hours of boring political intrigue and bland exposition. Cutscene after cutscene, trope after trope, plot hole after plot hole. It is just so dry and - forgive me - nerdy. The game is so long that I feel bad wasting my time on it. I am only two chapters away from the end but I simply do not care anymore and I have grown to hate the game. 75% of the game could have been cut, and had that effort and energy been spent on adding maps, that would have made for a better game. -The characters are so stale and static. I started to really get annoyed by them. It's hard to care about their struggles because they are the same cookie cutter characters from every game and every anime series from the past 30 years. Oh, the guy who wears heavy armor is loud and kind of dumb!!

-The amount of grinding in the stupid pub is silly. If the game were slightly less difficult or less stingy with items and coin, you could just play the game. Instead, you're forced to slog through identical battles over and over and over. It is not fun but it's required if you want to upgrade your characters enough for the next "real" battle, which you're allowed yo do after 10 "character stories" and another hour of dialogue where you can tell the voice actors have given up trying to deliver with any feeling because they, too, are so sick of doing it.

-Sometimes the story makes no sense. I spent hours trying to prove a guy is smuggling salt. Why couldn't they have just said, "The suspect's assistant attacked us and we had to kill him." This fact is never mentioned. The dead character seems to disappear from everyone's memory. -With dozens of hours or dialogue, you'd think the characters who appear would have unique stories, right? Nope. They show up randomly and join your party, and that's it. Like literally, they show up and ask to speak to you. If you're lucky, the story implies you walked past them and they joined. It's so lazy. How can I care about a character who walks up to a tent and says, "I'm joining your team!" In conclusion, the game is rare because half of it is well constructed and the other half is excruciatingly boring. Here is a breakdown of the game:

    50% is exposition
10% exploration (where you walk around a map looking for evidence or items)
15% grinding in "mock battles" which you *have* to do
    15% actual strategy battles

In comparison, the original Shining Force, which is a masterpiece, is 90% battles, 5% exploration, 5% story, yet I actually remember the story and characters from that game. I see people defend this game from criticism like you just said something about their mom. If you have a job, a wife, and have to clean your house and feed your dog, this game is what I'd consider low-quality and even joyless leisure time. Play Shining Force, play Fire Emblem, play FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre. This game is reserved for the absolute driest and nerdiest among us.

The adventures through the Kingdom of Glenbrook provide a compelling experience, more so for those who love choice-based games that involve intriguing plots and tactical combat. Triangle Strategy is one of the few games where making decisions that matter is harder than actually winning battles. This is one of those games that could leave a mark on an entire gerne if Square Enix decides to turn it into a franchise.
