Being able to feel the love I have for TP in ToTK (all other games as well.) I am amazed how they have able to one-up BoTW is incredible to me. Both story and just exploring the world once again and noticing the small details that have changed from BoTW and ToTK is beautifully done.

Game is amazing! Takes everything that worked well from botw and updated it with new twists and features that makes it a sprawling experience! Story is exciting, bosses are fun, puzzles are challenging and fun, and the world is bigger and better than ever! A must play 100%!

Never have i ever played a single player game for so long and felt so rewarded in the end, as i say to my friends, Zelda TOTK is not just a game, it is an experience.

The game builds itself in an fantastic away, and make a lot of other world exploration games looks kinda boring.

Over 100 hours in and yet I still have so much to do. It’s the game that just keeps giving. The size and scope of the game is second to none and I’ve never felt so free to explore every bit of it. It reminds me of how I felt playing Elden Ring, but I think that Tears of the Kingdom does exploration even better. It's so much easier to see something off in the distance and say, “I want to go do that”, and it’s so easy to get there by building any vehicle you can imagine to transport you. The game just feels so advanced from any other game and is amazing in every category. Elden Ring and Breath of the Wild are both 10/10 games, but Tears of the Kingdom just breaks the scale. It would be a shame for any gamer to miss out on this experience. I’ve never done a metacritic review and created an account for this to be my first one. If you read this, I hope you enjoyed my very first review :) Expand

Amazing game Nintendo did it again. I didn't really find any problem with the frame rate and the graphics are good too. Games aren't about graphics that Nintendo has tested over and over again.

    A perfect sequel to BOTW

Didnt think Nintendo could make a better game than BOTW but they did. They kept all the great mechanics of BOTW and expanded upon it and its world to make an even better Zelda game 10/10.

A good sequel to BotW, but I wish more was different. If you liked BotW you will most likely will like TotK. And if you didn't like it, you probably won't like this game. And if you didn't like it, you probably won't like this game. The new abilities add a huge new element of gameplay. You can construct all kinds of things, from vehicles, to traps, to piston engines. The construction ability could have been an entire game of its own. To all the reviews saying "what were they doing for 6 years", it was this. Perfecting the physics and construction system. if constructing things doesn't appeal to you, then you might now see as much value in the game. The fuse ability is cool too. Now all those monster parts you collect have a purpose and you can use them as enhancements to your weapons. I enjoyed seeing what the affect would be of things I fused to my arrows, swords, and shields. The story was good, with some unexpected twists and turns and a unique timeline structure.

Now for the cons. Although I've seen lots of people building all kinds of crazy things, I'm not particularly interested in construction. That leaves the exploration, side quests, and dungeons. Unfortunately not much is different or improved here. The map is mostly the same. The sky islands, although being a main marketing point, are a let down. There's just not that many of them. The surface is the same map as BotW. Yes, many things are different, but it's still the same map and all major landmarks/towns are in the same places. There is an underground area that stretches across the entire map. However, there's not a whole lot here and exploring it is difficult because it's completely dark until you light it. I wish they would have skipped the underground and invested all of their work into the sky islands. The side quests are fine, but I have not played any that were much more memorable than the ones in BotW. There do appear to be more of them, however. For the dungeons, they are also fine. They are more unique in appearance than in BotW, so that is an improvement. But the puzzle solving aspect is the same for them, "activate these 4 things so you can reach the boss" etc.

Overall a good sequel. But the fact that the main map is the same means I can't justify giving it higher than an 8. I really would have enjoyed exploring a whole new Hyrule, but the changes to the map and the new gameplay elements mostly make up for that.

An absolute masterpiece of a game. If you’re a Zelda fan and enjoyed the mechanics of Botw, but sadly missed the heavy story. This game surely picks up the slack by combining that wonderful Zelda lore we all love with Botw’s new exciting gameplay features and mechanics! Over all an outstanding work of art from Nintendo.

I've almost completed the main quest line and I really can't get enough of playing this game. Better story, better enemies, better mechanics, better world and so much more.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has lived up to the high expectations created by the success of Breath of the Wild with its exquisitely intertwined gameplay systems, outstanding music, and a legendary story culminating in a magnificent denouement. It's not every day that such a special video game like this comes around. Truly the stuff of legend.
