Hyrule is more vibrant than ever, offering a plethora of mysteries in its vast skies and deep chasms. While not revolutionizing the gaming landscape, Tears of the Kingdom empowers players to be innovative architects within its expansive sandbox, consistently awestruck by its unrivaled game world and intricate puzzles. It surpasses its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, in almost every aspect, delivering an unforgettable Zelda experience. However, while possessing exceptional qualities, Tears of the Kingdom feels more like a refined iteration rather than a completely new adventure, relying heavily on its predecessor and lacking a distinct "wow factor." Solid experience, as a relative new Zelda fan. I really enjoyed this entry in the franchise. The story is similar to breath of the wild which is a downpoint. While having quite a few issues such as lack of creativity in dungeons and a lacking reward system, tears of the kingdom is still an excellent game, developing and refining what made breath of the wild a classic, and adding a new creative touch to the series with building techniques. Overall, a very solid game with hours of enjoyment guaranteed, and my goty so far.

Absolutely amazing game. When Breath of the Wild was released, many of us couldn't imagine bigger and better sandbox game. I thought that BotW was THE ULTIMATE sandbox, but now I know I was wrong.

Breath of the Wild was kind of messiah of sandboxes. No one, ever before, made bigger and better sandbox. Tears of the Kingdom however, is not a messiah, but it's an innovator - it improves the mechanics and adds more.

They say that surface map of Hyrule is the same as it was in Breath of the Wild, but when I'm traversing it, I don't know what to expect behind the corner, even when I spent almost 200hrs in the predecessor. You start in another place of the world, and some places which was relatively safe in BotW are dangerous in TotK and vice versa. On top of that, TotK adds sky islands and underground with their own resources. Underground seems pretty dangerous at first, but if you know how to traverse it, it can be pretty soothing experience with almost no background music and with particles in the air. If you are bored with the gameplay loop on the surface, or in the underground, you can seamlessly go somewhere else.

Breath of the Wild was a game about loneliness. Our protagonist was asleep for 100 years and no one knew who he was. But Tears of the Kingdom is a game about relationships. Relationships you made in BotW. The story take place few years after the ending of BotW and you can see kids grew up, changes in the open world, etc.

Nintendo made the game to be friendly to new players, so you can learn about the story from BotW in different places in Hyrule from different people. I still recommend playing BotW first, because of meeting new friends who are present in TotK, and some side quests changing the open world, in a way which we see now in TotK.
However, there are some plot holes, like, where are the Divine Beasts? Why the sun and the moon are going backwards now?

The soundtrack is very good and in my opinion is better than it was in BotW. Themes of the towns are pretty much the same, but themes in shrines, battle themes are new and feel fresh. And let's not forget about references to older Zelda titles in boss battle themes, and in other places too.

Tears of the Kingdom is a great puzzle sandbox with the vast, open world. Basically all abilities you have are used to solving puzzles. There is no one proper way to solve the puzzles, you can solve it however you want and that's the most important part of this game. It gives the players a lot of satisfaction when they solve the puzzles in their own way, that's why the playthrough would be different for each of us. That was the case in BotW too, but with the abilities such as Ultrahand, or Fuse, the possibilities are endless.

Physics engine is as good as it was in BotW - it's absolutely phenomenal. In TotK it spread its wings to the maximum with the new abilities.

Ultrahand modifies how the player looks at things in Hyrule. Now, a tree is not just another tree, but you can connect trunks and make a raft, or a roof to make a fire when it rains, or you can climb high places, and there are a lot of things like that you can use to achieve your own goals.
Fuse is the developers' answer to durability complains in BotW. Not only fusing something durable to a weapon increases its durability, or something powerful increases its attack power, but it also gives it its properties. For example, when you attach ice fruit to a weapon, it gives freezing attack to it. Again, you can try combining different things in your own, creative way.
On top of that, there is Ascend which gives you the ability to float through ceilings, and which indeed sometimes feels like cheating (as the developers said in an interview), and Recall which rewinds time.

The story was, like it was in BotW, written after they had got gameplay mechanics done. Nintendo had a tough task optimizing it that you can discover it in any order, so it's again in form of memories. However, I recommend discovering it in a "proper" order, as in shown in the Forgotten Temple (from left to right, it's not a spoiler as it's one of the first main quests). The story doesn't have a lot of time relatively to playthrough time, and it's clearly visible that the main point of this game is gameplay. However, you can dive into lore deeper if you want, youtubers make hours-long videos about lore in this game.

The game works in 30 fps, sometimes more stable, sometimes less, sometimes framerate drops to 20-25 fps. But it wasn't a problem for me, for me hardware limitations were visible when something you built vanishes after you wander too far away from that, and it's usually not that far...

But even with that said, Tears of the Kingdom is one of the best games of all time, and it's my top 1 favorite games at the moment.
    I give it a solid 10/10.

    + gameplay
    + music
    + mechanics / abilities
    + the ultimate sandbox
    + lore

    - hardware limitations

What initially seemed as a mere "DLC" to some people has been completely abolished by the overwhelming amount of new content and features that, somehow, create an even bigger sense of freedom and choice that the previous entry Breath of the Wild established.

Speaking of freedom and choice, each mechanic that Link can utilise such as Ascend and Ultrahand are crafted in such a way that it truly allows complete and total freedom to tackle objectives and secrets (that, by the way, the world is absolutely FLOODED with!), and gracefully enables this mouldable gameplay that is entirely unique to the player. Ost / 9.5
Incredible is all I can say. Nearly perfect soooo close to being on the level of games like OoT, Witcher 3 and FFX.

    Story / 9
I think this is the best story in a Zelda game since OoT but the way the story is told and the freedom and open-ended nature of the game actually hurts the narrative. I believe if this story was told in a more direct and more narratively driven way it could potentially be an amazing story.

    Characters / 9
The characters in Zelda games have this charm to them that makes them likeable and funny even though objectively they are just silly, but you can't help but giggle and like them. Voice acting is superb in Japanese sometimes I feel like I'm watching a Studio Ghibli film. The English voice acting and writing leaves something to be desired which is the main reason I cannot give this category a 10.

Overall I would say anywhere between a 9-9.5/10 is a fair score for TotK it's one of the best games I've ever played. I have a personal top 100 favorite game of all time list and after a couple months of letting it sit and letting the hype die down. I've officially put Tears of the Kingdom in my top 15 and it's my 3rd favorite Zelda game of all time. I believe if a perfect open world video game exist it would be something like the freedom you get in Totk with the boss designs and combat precision of Elden Ring and the writing and graphical fidelity of God of War.

The exploration and adventure aspect of the game is its biggest strength. The new abilities, especially the building function via Ultra Hand, gives you one of the best sandbox experiences ever. There are almost no limits to what you can do and the physics in the game are something I have never seen before.

It also tackles some of the issues BotW had: The world is way more dense, the new temples are much more fun than the Divine Beasts – even though they still dont reach the highest hights of older Zelda game dungeons. Weapon durability is still in the game, however due to the fuse ability it feels way less tedious. Its actually fun to create new weapon combinations. The story overall is stronger than in BotW, with some great story telling, however its still very surface level – but it still has some emotional peaks.

One of the weakest aspects that hasnt changed at all from BotW is the combat itself. It still feels clunky, very little options and no new tricks here. Overall, an amazing game, an amazing entry in the Zelda series and one of the must pure fun games I played in the last years.

One of the best games ever! The negative scores are from haters. You need to put in at least 10/20 hours into this game to be able to provide an unbiased review - most of the haters have not even played the game or only played it for a few hours. Nintendo did it once again, what a fantastic team of developers.

One of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. Loved the cell shade art style and the lively villages full of interesting people. The open world is full of interest. Many times I set out to do something, but found myself wandering around from place to place, checking out various things that caught my interest in the open world and completely forgot about my original objective. Controls are smooth and precise, but takes a while to get a grip on how to use all of the abilities. I was probably 30hrs in before I was comfortably using the abilities, and still messed it up from time to time throughout the game. The user interface was much improved over Breath of the Wild, but could have used further quality of life enhancements such as remembering favorites for crafting a fire with pine cone or only showing relevant items for cooking, fusing to arrows instead of managing large menus with each item every time. Music is amazing. It really enhanced the feel of each place you visit and gave each space an identity. Performance was not bad as well, I didn't experience any crashes or major glitches. The only issue I had performance-wise was the frame rate dropped quite a bit, especially in areas with lots of vegetation. Overall, could not recommend this game enough whether you are a open world sandbox fan, or want to try one out for the first time. Anyone who liked Breath of the Wild should be pleased with all that was built on top of it with Tears of the Kingdom. Expand

However, this enhancement comes at the cost of slightly strained frame rates, and there may be occasional drops in FPS in certain scenes, which is a somewhat regrettable aspect.

The free synthesis system is a major highlight of this game, offering players a diverse and engaging gameplay experience. Through synthesis, you can greatly enhance your character's abilities and skills, not only increasing the game's replayability but also providing players with more strategic choices.

The world map design in the game is highly appealing, filled with a sense of mystery and exploration. Players can't resist the desire to explore every corner, and the design that encourages active exploration brings immense joy.

The story is relatively simple and straightforward, without overly intricate and complex plotlines. This design makes the game easy to understand and get into, without burdening players with excessive complexity. It is believed that this simplicity will not be a concern for most players.

Overall, through its rich visuals, enjoyable free synthesis system, captivating world map, and straightforward storytelling, this game creates a delightful and worth-exploring gaming world for players.

As someone who loved Breath of the Wild and had sky-high (pun intended) expectations for Tears of the Kingdoms, I got to say... the game surpassed my expectations.
Now, while the combat system and the visuals remain largely the same as in Breath of the Wild, everything else has been improved; the story is more engaging, the puzzles are more creative, there's more enemy variety, the map has been changed in many areas and there's much more content overall.
However, being able to explore islands in the goddamn sky and the gloomy depths, paired up with Breath of the Wild's unmatched sense of exploration and even more player freedom, a huge world filled with so much content, 100 hours of playtime feels like barely scratching the surface, is an unbelievable achievement that I didn't think was possible for videogames.
And I thought Breath of the Wild had mind-blowing abilities and mechanics but Tears of the Kingdom puts it to shame with its new set of abilities and tweaks; they're simply game-changing.
With that being said though, I wish the sky islands were slightly more dense and the frame rate was more consistent.

    Pros:
    + Addictive gameplay
    + Groundbreaking new ideas
+ Massive world filled with nearly endless amount of content
    + Genius mechanics
    + Gorgeous visuals & audio

    Cons:

    - Masterpiece -
While Breath of the Wild was a breath of fresh air for the Open World genre, Tears of the Kingdom raises the bar for the Open World genre up to the skies both figuratively and literally, and it goes even further by redefining the limits of videogames in general.
This is a "once-in-a-decade" kind of game, an achievement in the videogame industry and a very strong contender for being the best videogame experience I've ever had.

    Do I recommend it?:
It makes Breath of the Wild obsolete, so it's a must-play.

With this said, there are flaws:
Worldbuilding; what happened to the old shrines and sheka towers?
Yiga: So far, I've been to the desert and seen NOTHING about them except once in the depths.
Abilities: Feal a bit awkward to use compared to the champion's abilities
Cut scenes: this could be me using headphones, but the mouths are not connected properly with the voices. Also, there is a ton of them, to the point where it is annoying

Would I buy it? Yes obviously. But coming from BOTW, some things I feel should have been approved upon.

The atmosphere, music, themes, enemies. It was all joy! The world has changed a lot, introducing new characters, shrines, enemies and even a entire underground map as well as sky islands. Exploring these is very fun and challenging. But I still have one problem with this game. Near the end it drags on for waaaaay too long. You get thrown into a new location in the depths after you fought Demon King's allies in the castle. And instead of going after him, we're just going to build some funny robot. It makes no sense. I did not enjoy this last part in the slightest, the puzzles were nothing but frustrating. But the final boss however is sooo good. If it wasn't for these 2 problems, this would have probably been my favourite game, but unfortunately giving it a higher score just didn't feel right for me.

While this game is mostly positive, I would like to address some things I found annoying or just bad when it comes to this game, Again don't get me wrong I like this game a lot, Just as much as Elden Ring.
Still, this game suffers from a lack of menu features (eg. I want to cook my items in bulk, nope can't do that), sometimes annoying loot popups that just ruin the flow of gameplay, and maybe it's a bit frustrating at times with enemies with the simplistic combat but other than that this is an accurate representation of what games in 2023 should play like, especially on a switch.

At the writing of this review, There is no way I'm Fully complete with the game, but I've played a Sizable junk, for more than 20 hours to get to know what this game is and the overall content of the game.

This game is BEEEG, for a Nintendo Switch, I am still baffled at how this even runs, and only 16GBs?! Nintendo Out did themselves with this one with polishing. As for performance, uuhh, you gonna be looking at somewhere with 30fps, but you know what it's actually fine because the switch is such an underpowered console and just further flexes what can be done with such little power, as opposed to what the Recent Gen consoles are doing.

And finally, I have never seen a game for a while that implements game-breaking Features so well, Building, Fusing, Portaling up and onto structures, and Time rewinding (These are the main ones), It's insane.

I remember when I first started the game using the Building ability to make a giant rail cart so I can Go over a broken rail line. Its challenges and elements like these which I enjoy using my own way to get to a goal. Using the player with their creativity to solve a problem is what games should be all about, kind of like Minecraft just a little dialled down, and then mixing that with gameplay scenarios, just great.

So If you have a Nintendo Switch and you're looking for a game or you're just a sceptical Zelda Fan, trust me the other reviews do not lie, you will sink hours into this game and you won't even be done with the tutorial area.

Nintendo Fans should be happy with this one, even if it suffers some design flaws, heard that there are some annoying things from BOTW in here, this being my first Zelda Game I just enjoyed, You may feel different if you're an existing fan, completely Understandable.

I'm still going to go back and finish the remaining content, or maybe just build a flying Train or something.

9/10, Needs more Menu and Quality of life features.

Aunque ya hace bastante que me lo he pasado, quería sentirme preparado para hacerle una reseña aquí en condiciones y un ensayo más profundo. Aquí solo tocaré la superficie del título, pero es que la superficie ya es una obra maestra. Empecemos.

En resumen, juega Tears of the Kingdom. Es que si no has jugado al juego no sé ni que haces leyendo estas palabras. Me da igual que sean 70 pavines, te lo compras y no te va a decpecionar. Tan recomendado que si no lo juegas me enfado.

The gameplay is overall good. The 4 main ability's are good. The amount of weird, whack, sick, or overpowered weapons and vehicles you can make is almost infinite. There are some things like that you only can attach 20/21 things together with ultrahand, maybe a bit more would have been fun.
The dungeons, they are much better than the ones from botw. Maybe still not as good as previous titles, but they are a lot of fun.
The world itself is also massive. The surface hasn't changed much from botw, but it still feels like a new world. The sky islands are fun, but also a bit of a antic-climax to me. I thought there would be more islands to discover, but there aren't so much. The dephts/underground is massive and full of cool things. It is also overall not scary.
The bossfights are just good. Maybe it would have been more fun if they were a bit less "gimmicky" but overall they are fun. The enemies are more fun to battle than in botw. Now you do it for the drops so that you can fuse. The enemy variation also has been improved.
I would give this game a 9.8, better than botw and just awesome to play.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Right from the get go, the game does not disappoint. It beautifully expands on the already amazing foundation of Breath of the Wild; even in it's first few hours, the game well justifies the $70 price tag, over doubling the world of the previous game, while making the original map new and fresh, yet still familiar. In the tutorial, I felt as though I was making my own decisions, but I know that the game was subtly leading me. It is clear when you look back at your path, but not when you're in the action. It is crazy to think that a sequel to a game like Breath of the Wild could be better, and in many ways it is!
However, it is a much more challenging game (git gud mentality), but it's not unwelcome. The game's towers are much harder to get into, making the map that much more valuable since you're going to go a while in an area before you get it. All in all, the game gives you less to start off with, and much tougher enemies to fight.
In terms of story/game-path it follows the breath of the wild formula to a "t," with the exception of the beginning, which is all exposition, with no real game play. The tutorial area is beautiful, and explains many of the games core mechanics outside of shrines. I really like this way of explaining the game, abilities are shown in the four shrines, and other things that will be needed throughout the game are explained in the larger world. Shrines that go more in depth on the game's "devices" are on the world below, but a crash course is given in the tutorial.
Every step of the way, Tears of the Kingdom builds upon what made Breath of the Wild amazing, while fixing many of its flaws, and bringing the game-play, world, combat, and everything else up three levels. Easily worth the $70 price and defiantly my game of the year pick.

Firstly, let me note that I am a nintendo fanboy and zelda fanboy and have been for 27 years. Tears of the Kingdom is a great game but by no means perfect and has plenty of flaws that stops it from being truly a game I would call the greatest of the Zelda franchise, as I will outline below (no spoilers). Tears of the Kingdom is a great game but by no means perfect and has plenty of flaws that stops it from being truly a game I would call the greatest of the Zelda franchise, as I will outline below (no spoilers). To anyone saying the game is just a copy and paste of breath of the wild, sure, it kinda is but enough new things were added and the game was polished enough to make it worth being called a new game. Also, with two additional maps added, followers, weapon repair system and new powers, the game is a truly different game built upon what BOTW made and that is what makes it great; BOTW was amazing so why try to fix something not broken. Pokemon learned that a long time ago. Overall, it is what I expect from a Zelda game, top quality game play, a map filled with so much to do I get lost in it and millions of ways to slay Bokoblins. Now, to anyone saying it is a perfect game and is best ever made and we must worship the ground Nintendo walks on due to this; not by a long shot. The game is great but does not have the same shock factor that BOTW had 7 years ago. Also, lets be honest, the graphics are subpar for this day and age, especially after just finishing the visual masterpiece that was GOWR but it still has that Zelda charm that breath of the wild created and Hyrule is beautiful enough that it is easy to look past the visual flaws but that is more a Switch problem than Zelda problem; team worked with what they had. Also, I do think they could have put more effort into the surface map; it really is just a bit too similar to BOTW to count for 7 years of production time. I do feel a lot of things have been polished up and this is the direction future zelda games are going and I am fine with that. Overall, the game is great; I got the same feeling as when I play Skyrim. It is a world I can just get lost in and no matter what direction I go in, there is always something to find. The game was certainly not worth being a 70 dollar game, that was just a bit of greed on Nintendo's part and makes me disappointed. Still, I love the game and will be putting in likely hundreds of hours to match my BOTW playtime. It is defiantly a good game to play if you are looking for a world to just get lost in and not expecting much in terms of story just like BOTW. (Its a zelda game, the story is never the point). Also, Rehydrated Ganon. If you did not like BOTW, you won't like this. If you are not a fan of big open worlds with total freedom and graphics from the 2017's, you won't like this. If you are someone who hates nintendo, you won't like this. If you are someone who hates dealing with breaking weapons, dark souls level difficulty in some fights and having to actually use your head to solve puzzles (or just use youtube) you won't like this. This game is not a fun hack and slash but an open world exploration with difficult combat, lots of things to micromanage and a huge world to get lost in. If you are looking to just lose a few hundred hours of your life, go for it. Still not worth 70 dollars though. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom took everything about its predecessor and flipped it on its head. Everything from the music, to the game play mechanics have been increased ten fold. If you like your hand being held for the entirety of a game, this game is not for you. Links four main abilities some would call gimmicky, but I would call them a unique set of powers that allow the players to traverse the expanded world of Hyrule however they imagine. Although you no longer have the champions abilities from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, you’re still given all the tools necessary to complete any challenge thrown your way. That’s what makes this game so amazing. You have to go out of your way to reap what you sow. There is no other way around it. This game is very rewarding for your hard work. When it came to building vehicles, it was a bit clunky at first but the more you practice the more you get the hang of it. The frame rate in this game can drop at times, but it’s so amusing it’s forgivable. The story through memories was a bit of a let down I must say. I was really hoping they’d deviate from its previous title in order to keep things fresh. I would say the same about its tutorial, seeing as you start with obtaining Link’s 4 abilities through shrines. Although it’s the same engine, map, mechanics, and characters, it’s approach to the overall open world story telling was a bit too similar to Breath of The Wild. These are the only small complaints I had of the game as I was too distracted by having a jolly good time. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom took the foundation of Breath of The Wild and built upon it. That’s what makes a direct sequel work really well in my opinion. Keeping things similar enough but not too close is a hard line to walk and I think the developers did a fantastic job at towing it. Overall the game is rewarding despite its small similarities from its previous title and will keep you thinking hard the entire way. Expand

At the same time it also carries most of the negatives form its predecessor. Soulless openworld, lack of incentives to explore, combat starts fun but parry is op, rewards are either breakable common gear or stamina and HP from temples, monster variety is just as terrible, story is almost non existent, music is questionable...

If you were awed by BOTW, you would be awed by this game. But if you weren't convinced by BOTW or if you are like me who never finished the game despite multiples tries. You will definitely question what does make this game fun.

Tears of the Kingdom takes the concepts laid out by Breath of the Wild and brings them to a fine polish.

The map has been altered slightly and events have shifted enough to properly reflect the passage of time. Despite the surface layer having the same base geography, the new additions of landmarks and the completely different mechanics change the nature of traversing the world entirely. I know where various specific places are on the map, but getting to them isn't the same as it was. It is a whole different challenge, one that I relish. The addition of various caves around the map is a nice little distraction. There were some incredible surprises inside some of them, and a few that caused me genuine terror I wasn't ready for.

The sky layer is definitely the place where the dev team tested all of the new mechanics behind Link's new abilities. The variety of little puzzles and interactions you can find there are surprising. it is very much reminiscent of the outer lying sky islands of Skyward Sword, but there is far more to do in this game than in that one. There are clearly places you are intended to reach later on in the game, but given enough time and effort, you can reach them at just about any point in the game. I encountered one specific place where there was an enemy that ended me a number of times before I was able to run away. Were I better player I may have stood a chance, though.

The Depths layer offers an experience I haven't encountered before in a Zelda game. It is a challenge to just survive there. I spent a good hour during one session traversing the underground and barely uncovered a fraction of the map, yet the number of things I found to do and enemies to fight caught me off guard, and I was trying to avoid most of them. There are things that will jump out at you from any corner available down there, even from the ground beneath your feet. I also met a face I wasn't expecting down there, but was very glad to see again.

The dungeons of this game are leagues ahead of those found in Breath of the Wild. The challenges offered by them force you to think about what you're doing. Some solutions where fairly straight forward in hindsight, but coming to those conclusions in the first place was a delight. The bosses are given a spectacular presentation, and offer just the right level of challenge. I felt good after completing them.

This game is not perfect. While I haven't encountered any graphical or framerate issues, and don't think I've encountered any bugs, there is a certain tedium to equipment management that is less enjoyable.

Having said that, I do enjoy finding new pieces of things to attach to other tools I've collected to create new and interesting tools. There's one specific item dropped by a specific type of world boss that I've already taken a liking to and regularly go back to obtain for my weapons. You are also still required to have a great variety of tools on you at any given time if you want to be thorough in your exploration. I've discovered a number of tools already that are a must have for exploring certain sections of the map.

The new mechanics of this game are a genuine joy to experiment with. I've been thoroughly enjoying testing the limits of what the abilities can do. There are a number of things that can be done in this game which were simply not possible or were otherwise too complex for those like myself to do in the previous title, but the new mechanics have brought forth numerous new possibilities for interaction with the engine. There are some times when I find myself missing the powers of the prior game, but those times are few and far between, and that does not detract from the experience.

If you enjoyed Breath of the Wild, you will enjoy this game. If you haven't played Breath of the Wild, I highly encourage you to do so before picking this game up. The experience is not the same.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I had the honor to receive (certainly by mistake), the game in advance. This game is in the perfect continuity of its predecessor, although it has kept some defects. Let's start with the latter.
One of the main flaws that I decided to mention for this review is the dungeons. This is a point where I expected an evolution from Nintendo with a new way of conceiving them. In spite of these expectations from me and also from the players, I still find them too close to what was done in Breath of the Wild, that is to say structures with 4 or 5 points to activate in order to reach the boss. In the previous Zelda games, each dungeon varied and was solved in a different way, which brought a great originality to each of them. Here, the only nice thing about the dungeons is the environment that varies each time and the theme of each of them, involving in this the bosses for which Nintendo has made an effort. In short, Nintendo didn't put as much effort into the construction of the dungeons as one would expect, and the way of solving them would be different from BOTW.
Other minor technical flaws including slowdowns (probably because I only had access to 1.0.0 during my session) are present and will require a patch but did not spoil my gaming experience.
As for the qualities of this Zelda, as usual in the games of this series, Nintedo has provided us with a game of very high quality, putting even its predecessor at the rank of prototype despite the revolution it brought. The narration is much better with an excellent scenario. On this point, Nintendo has listened very well to the players. I was also satisfied with the soundtrack, with the reworking of some of the themes you could hear in BOTW. The construction system is very well integrated in the game and is well brought in the story (a whole tutorial area is dedicated to the mastery of it), the new powers are also excellent. Nintendo has, on this point, kept the best of BOTW to make something much more advanced, which gives a gameplay that can vary to the extreme.

In short, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is a game that I recommend to those who are looking for an excellent game that pushes its concept to the end. I could talk about many other qualities but not all of them come to mind as I write.

It’s not a 10, I didn’t even really think it was a 9 at first, I was hovering at a 5 at best when I started (excluding the initial bit with Zelda WHICH IS AWESOME!) but it grows on you once it stops holding your hand and just lets you go wild and explore, a bit like BOTW (which I similarly hated when I first started playing).
