Maybe the weakest point of BOTW is its narrative, which is kind of predictable and plain, and the Divine Beast boss difficulties could be tweaked a bit, but overall, I find that those are compensated by the other strong points of the game.
Overall one of the best games to exist. If you can, you should definitely try it out.

Game is very good, but still wayy too much hype around it.

Repetitive + meh graphics hidden behind a wall of cartoonish choice because of the switch.

Gameplay facepalm : you can't switch locked target, you have to unlock, and pray for your next lock to be the target you expected.

Other than that very solid game.

I consider The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to be my number 1 favorite video game of all time. What I like most about it is its combat mechanics. Combat in this game is incredibly fun, and I like how a good chunk of it fundamentally boils down to timing. The game isn't that picky with the timing, but just picky enough to the point where it is not underwhemingly easy. Its story, while not the best, is still fairly interesting, and is the most common complaint about this game, at least that I hear. I also love how the map is never short of things to discover. From shrines, to sheikah towers, to labyrinths, to the farious villages and towns scattered across the map. I will, admit, that I do not have a good attention span, and I find it difficult to sit and play the same game, or do the same activity, for any more than one-and-a-half hours without taking breaks. This game however, is one of the few exceptions, one where I am able to get immersed so well to where I end up spending upwards of five hours in one sitting (which, for me, is a lot) only interrupted by the occasional food break and bathroom break. This game is also very replayable. After finiahing it, I started up another save file, just so I could experience it again. Although, the second time isn't as fun because I already knew what to expect, but that problem is unavoidable with any game. The controls don't make it feel like my hands are holding the controller, it feels like my hands ARE the controllers. My only real complaint about this game is a pretty minor one, but it's over the fact that after finishing the main story quest, the adventure log does not say you finished it, and the game just acts as if you never finished it, regardless of how many times you actually do finish the story.

    TLDR: Graphics: 9.5/10
    Gameplay: 10/10
    World immersion 10/10
    Story: 8/10
    Replayability: 10/10

Extensive and lifeless map, leaving the game proposal that is good in a boring and monotonous experience after a few hours of play. Meaningless missions that add absolutely nothing. Weak rewards that don't encourage the player to chase missions. No subtitles in other languages, mainly Portuguese (mainly for the price charged in Brazil).

The most disruptive installment of the saga and the one that breaks the most conventions, that's why I don't like it at all, since it replaces a functional formula that everyone loved with an empty shell, very similar to other repetitive open worlds in the AAA industry
In this Zelda, Ganon is the most pitiful final boss that has ever been seen in a video game.

The fans of this game are very annoying, and it's hard to say anything bad about the game. They don't have the fun of opening treasure chests or the desire to explore, and there are too few rewards for feedback. The map is particularly spacious, and the modeling is also so rough. The combat system is really garbage

The only themes that gave me the original "Zelda vibe" were the Korok forest, Zoras royaume, Sidon theme. Were are all the classic Zelda themes ? I grew up with the SNES and N64. I rarely play video games anymore because I’m an adult and I don’t have so much time. But I do believe video game developers should quit trying making Hollywood soundtracks and go back to the good old melodies. It feels very bland and impersonal. There is something frustrating in this. Like "give me that vibe". But it’s not coming, except a few short instants.

More enemy variety would have been better.
Weapons breaking like glass, too fast.
    Climbing in the rain.

Wished that reclaiming the towers meant that that territory was now free of enemies. It would make Link's role as hero have more meaning. Wished Link built up an army as he moved through territories, so he wasn't always fighting alone. Too many shrines. Guardians and Lynels too hard to kill. Rain was super annoying and lasted too long. Really enjoyed Beedle, most of the castle, and the five animal challenges. Link's hearts should automatically refill when he swims in a fairy's waters or visits a goddess statue (regardless if he has the spirit orbs). Why only monks? Why not nuns, too? I've never had so many mind blowing moments in a vidoe game "I'll try it but I'm sure there is no way this will work" was a sentence I had in my head a lot of times, and always after that "WHAT?! that really worked!"

This was my first Zelda game and I'm a fan so my score cant be because of nostalgia. I would say this is the best openworld game ever made and companies like EA, Ubisoft, Guerilla can only envy Nintendo.

I don't know. Personally, the game often bores me because of the complexity or incomprehensibility. The game is a masterpiece, especially as the first exclusive, but if I had to choose between Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey, I chose Mario.

That being said, the lack of dungeons and item progression is replaced with absolute freedom which is why BOTW is so beautifully refreshing and fun to explore. That being said the fun of this game is exploring the huge overworld but the shrines are so boring and the Devine beast are even worse. These were suppose to be the "dungeons" to be discovered in the open world but they will every die hard zelda unsatisfied. Cutscenes are great when reliving memories and finishing the Divine beasts but the power up gained make the game so easy as you get more and more overpowered. I only completed the beasts once my 1st out of 4 play throughs. Now finally the reason why Zelda games are the best is the music. As an artistic direction music was removed to enhance the experience of traversing the massive world. There are a few deepcuts to older zelda song that made my heart rejoice. One example being the Link to the past Hyrule castle theme that was later used in Windwaker for the king of hyrule's theme it was again the music that played when the king of Hyrule makes his appearance to link but there were not enough of these musical easter eggs for me. But Finally Devine beasts are not dungeons and the shrine were truly truly HOT GARBAGE!... Thank you Expand

Breath of the Wild is an incredible game that revolutionizes the open-world genre. It is also the culmination of the open world.I guess the only disadvantage of Breath of the Wild is that it is only on the Switch. It is really really really a pity, because if it is on the PlayStation or Xbox,we can enjoy 2k or 4k resolution.

The lack of the Brazilian Portuguese language make me give this note. Our country is such a important market in the video game industry so I think it's unacceptable that a game from a big company as Nintendo didn't came with at least Portuguese subtitles.

The last couple of weeks I played Breath of the Wild extensively and I was living and breathing (pun intended) Zelda until I finally saved the land of Hyrule. This is a landmark in gaming history, a masterpiece and when people say this is the best game of the last decade I'm inclined to believe them. For me however it has become a unique journey in an immersive world, but as it sometimes goes with journeys, not everything goes as smoothly as you like. I'm not going to discuss the spectacular open world, fantastic physics engine, the inventive puzzles in the shrines or the amazing Divine Beasts. Plenty of people have already done that and probably in a better way I ever could. Instead I want to discuss - and what I've rarely seen in other reviews - is the experience curve. Because Breath of the Wild is an experience I've never experienced before, both in a good way, but also with a plethora of inconveniences.

The game is truly open world and the masked tutorial in the beginning is somewhat friendly for the player, but after this part the world of Hyrule can become a very scary place. Every enemy is a potential death threat and enemies will find you. With a scarcity in resources the game resembles Resident Evil in more ways than one. When Nintendo said they have rethought what a Zelda game is they weren't kidding. The questionable mechanic that weapons break in an instant makes the game hard, but for all the wrong reasons. The first few hours in the game were not enjoyable for me and probably neither for the majority of other players I guess. It's only when I have resolved a number of shines, have collected a respectable number of weapons, increased my heart count and possess a number of potions that the game really shines.

And shine it does! Exploring this seemingless organic world is maybe the greatest strength of this game. I have visited several outskirts on earth and Breath of the World equals that experience. I've never thought this was possible in a game. The game really unveils itself when I start to visit the different peoples and Divine Beasts. The moment I visit Zora's Domain is a magical moment where everything comes together and you only encounter a handful of times in your gaming career. And Breath of the Wild is the proud owner of such a moment. It's on this moment that euphory starts to kick in and in my brain I already have concluded this is the best game ever. However, the more I explore this imaginative world of Hyrule I'm starting to discover the game mechanics, the somewhat repetitive structure of shrines and Divine Beasts and the game loses its magical touch.

The plenty of minor inconveniences that are available in the game start to annoy me. Not able to climb when it rains is a nuisance, the swimming is way too slow, the voice acting is sometimes of a questionable level and the slow commutes between locations can be a hassle. I'm no longer in love with this game. As in each relationship the biochemistry of love doesn't last forever, but here the feeling of routine comes sooner than expected. The unanymous appreciation of an open world Zelda causes the gameplay to be unbalanced. Say what you want about the more linear adventures of Link, but they never felt unbalanced. Here it does. The beginning is maybe a tad too difficult, but after dozens of hours into the game the mainquest becomes too easy. The final battle with Ganon is a piece of cake compared to taking down a Lynel. I think the diversive Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game to this date because of the ingenious design of its dungeons and Breath of the Wild doesn't replace that experience. It's a very nice addition to that game, but no replacement.

There is plenty to talk about this game and that is what the internet still is doing. After four years major gaming websites such as IGN and Gamespot are still releasing articles and movies about this game. It's a testimony to the impact, power and greatness of this game. While I think this game is unbalanced, has a somewhat skewed experience curve and possesses plenty of minor inconveniences, it all pales in comparison in what this game has to offer. An unrivaled open world experience that is unique for every player that has set a new defintion not only for this genre, but gaming in general. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and a few games have already copied the structure of Breath of the Wild. This game is after four years still the darling of the games industry and I don't see this changing anytime soon.

A video game in its absolute purest form. Incredibly immersive with amazing exploration and sheer freedom for the player to have fun however they see fit. Without the perfect music, atmosphere, art style, and combat, this would still be one of the greatest games ever made due to its masterful approach to open-world game design. A Nintendo precisa com urgência de um console com um hardware atual, e o zelda mostra isso claramente!

You get to create your own adventure. There are many things that you can do after you finish the story or do everything before you finish the story. There are 120 shrines, 900 koroks and many side quests to do. You have to figure out the story slowly by collecting memories and the game ends by rescuing Zelda form the cage of calamity Ganon. The dlc is also very good. The master trials are a very good addition to the game to power the master sword up, you have to fend off enemies in many differing room increasing in difficulty starting with nothing and scavenging materials to beat the enemies. Master mode is a challenging addition for hardcore players starting over with all enemies raising in level by one. The champions ballad is a great addition to the story with great rewards you have to do the very same challenges that the champions had to do and defeat the blights again, and complete one last divine beast. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece of a game that completely redefines what an open-world adventure game can be. From the moment you first step out into the vast world of Hyrule, you are presented with a breathtakingly beautiful landscape that is filled with wonder and adventure.

The game features a vast array of diverse environments, ranging from lush forests to snow-capped mountains to scorching deserts, each with its own unique creatures and challenges to overcome. The attention to detail is simply astounding, and it's clear that the developers put a tremendous amount of care and effort into creating a world that feels truly alive.

One of the most impressive aspects of Breath of the Wild is its sense of freedom and exploration. Rather than holding your hand and leading you down a linear path, the game allows you to approach its challenges in any way you see fit. You are free to climb any mountain, swim across any river, and explore any nook and cranny you come across. This sense of freedom is incredibly empowering and makes the game feel like a true adventure.

Another standout feature of the game is its combat system. Battles are intense, strategic affairs that require you to think on your feet and make use of a wide variety of weapons and abilities. Whether you prefer to sneak around and take out enemies from afar or charge headfirst into battle with a sword and shield, there are countless ways to approach each encounter.

Overall, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a truly exceptional game that deserves all the praise it has received. Its vast open world, attention to detail, sense of freedom, and engaging combat system all come together to create an unforgettable gaming experience that is sure to leave you breathless. If you're a fan of adventure games, or simply looking for an unforgettable gaming experience, then this game is an absolute must-play.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In a single sentence: the games feels tedious, repetitive and unfinished.

    Pros:
    1. The game's esthetic: beautiful open world, comic-like character design, lighting, as well as the esthetic of the remnants of an ancient technologically advanced civilisation
    2. Dungeons inside giant moving robots with 3D maps!
    3. The overall plot line is cool and credible
    4. The ability to glide is very satisfying
    5. The sound effects are pleasant

    Cons:
    1. The world might be beautiful, but it is completely empty. No big cities, just a handful of small settlements, practically no inhabitants. It feels ver strange.
    2. No monster variety. You find the same few monsters in pretty much all zones.
    3. Disappointing local story lines. The overall plot might be great (Calamity Ganon reappearing regularly throughout history, an ancient civilization building robots to help bring him down, Zelda keeping Ganon busy for 100 years), but the local storylines Link encounters when travelling are completely underwhelming (e.g. the elephant robot is making it rain too much in the Zora domain...)
    4. Shrines are too repetitive: there are too many shrines and the puzzles are too similar. I get it that shrines are an excuse to travel the world but it's just far too much.
    5. Too little dungeon variety. In previous games each dungeon had its own unique esthetic and music, but in BotW there are only 4 dungeons (excluding the shrines, which are also lacking in variety) and they are very similar.
    6. Weapons breaking: you don't create an attachment to your weapons because they will end up breaking, therefore no weapon feels valuable. This adds to the feeling of repetitiveness.
    7. The sheikah tablet: it's basically an all-can-do smartphone that takes away the medieval feel of Zelda games. Also, the fact that Link's powers are granted by the tablet is not credible and disappointing.
    8. Princess Zelda is incredibly annoying.
    9. There is too little esthetic emphasis on the triforce versus too much emphasis on the sheikah eye for a Zelda game.
