    It's an absolute blast to play, and I've enjoyed every minute of it! Probably one of my favorite platforms the game is on. This is also probably one of the most stable and least buggy versions of Terraria I've ever played on, so that in itself is a huge plus. Well done to Pipeworks!

    Truly an amazing port. Being able to play Terraria on the Switch is a wonderful experience, and I'm glad Pipeworks made the decision to work on it. This is everything Terraria is packed into a handheld gaming system to provide a smooth, uninterrupted experience. Bravo!

    Greatest game ever made, it's so addictive time will fly by so fast when you play this game it's crazy. I got this free on ps4 with ps plus, but still paid the $30 dollars for the switch port. It's worth more than some Triple A games.

    Best Terraria port ever. Playing with 8 friends is a blast. The sandbox gameplay is such a treat and well worth the cost. Especially when compared to other games on the Switch, Terraria's value can't be beat. The more time you put into the game the more rewarding it gets. 10/10

    Terraria is a game that I sorta grew up with - and it's a fun experience. While a bit hard to get used to, especially if you've played something like Minecraft, once you do, you won't wanna stop. The crafting system has plenty of variety in order to build weapons, tools, furniture, etc. You could build your dream castle, or a nice little cottage - the possibilities are endless. The NPCs are also a fun system to interact with, each having their own quirks and traits that can help you on your quest. The crowning feature are the bosses, each providing a unique challenge to them and having their own unique charm. You won't feel that you're fighting the same thing over and over again. The only complaint I have is the endgame - I wish there was more. The final boss is great and the endgame armors are amazing, but there's not much to do with said armors and weapons you'll grind materials for. But other than that, this has been a great experience. The game takes a long time to load, and freezes for a while whenever it autosaves. I was okay with that until I made it to hard mode, and realized that some of the crafting recipes don't work. I tried playing this game for years. The graphics sucked. The controls irritated me and i just considered it a low budget Minecraft.

    I was very very wrong. The game is stunning once you sink your teeth into it. So much to see and do. So much fun to be had. I am 41 and this was the closet i have felt to child wonder since i was a kid. The controls arnt too bad at all once you get use

Now on Switch, you get everything that PC players have got over 8 years of regular updates, for a game so rich in content that you’ll probably still discover things after many months of gameplay. As for the technical aspect of the port, I am relieved to say that it’s near flawless. Yes the loading times are a bit long at game start, but still not as much as Graveyard Keeoer for instance. And past that it’s a completely seamless experience. The game runs at a steady 60 FPS and the Switch port brings a few truly unique features that make it my favorite version to play. First of all obviously you can play on the go, and also still enjoy the comfort of a big screen at home, but also the developers make great use of the touch screen, You can do everything with the the controller alone, but touch screen makes the experience much smoother. I particularly love the ability to zoom in an out in the world with the pinch.
    I’m conscious that Terraria is on the expensive end of the scale for an indie game, but considering the years of gameplay it offers and the sheer quality of the port, it’s still a bargain, and will probably keep you busy well after you’ve seen everything there has to see from 60$ “AAA” games...
    As is in the old saying, If there’s a game you want to bring on a deserted island, it’s Terraria.

Blending elements of classic action games with the freedom of sandbox-style creativity, Terraria is a unique gaming experience where both the journey and the destination are as unique as the players themselves!

    The first thing I noticed was that I missed the keyboard and mouse. This may be due to me being a big Terraria fan on the PC. This is a game that works better in handheld mode, as the touchscreen has been utilized perfectly.

    Though the touchscreen may not be as useful for more precise building and mining. When using fingers, a magnifying glass will appear to help be more precise. I found I ended up switching between touch and joycons. But the gameplay and core game mechanics are the same, and its still a lot of fun.

    Overall the gameplay is still the same as on other console versions. You can move around and mine. The story and feel of the game are all still there. The added benefit of the touchscreen makes it a lot easier to play then on PS4 or XBOX.

    Currently, Terraria only supports multiplayer through Nintendo online, and not local split-screen. Though we have been promised this is on the horizon. The version released on the Switch is the 1.3.0.7 version, which is behind the console version of 1.3.1. Both are far behind the PC version of 1.4.

    This is a fantastic time waster game. With side-scrolling, touchscreen, building and digging, all in all, a fun game to play. Finally check out our other gaming reviews.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ok, lets start:
    - minuses
    1. Its not full 1.3 that in PC or will be ported to Mobile, there is no Tavern Keeper and its own merchandise (you get what im talking about), no gem locks or trick chest;
    2. The initial management settings is not normal, for example the "Jump" function is binded to "ZL", its not comfortable;
    3. While Autosaving the game could freeze or FPS could sags;
    4. No Russian Language;
    5. When you make 2 or more worlds with Crimson and Corruption, while making another world, you couldn't choose between them, and even you make a small world, it will take a long time to create.
    + Pluses
    1. There's a tutorial;
    2. You could bind buttons on any function you want;
    3. The soundtrack mixed from mobile/other consoles editions with PC;
    4. The developers tried to unlock the full potential of Nintendo Switch, such as using touch screen in many different situations;
    5. Switching between the 2 types of scopes: build type and fight type, as i called it could help you;
    6. There's added a difficulty to characters and added a Expert mode.
    And in conclusion we have not so bad port from PC to hybrid console.

    El juego en general es un muy buen juego por la gran cantidad de contenido de este, al principio del juego y en la mitad puede ser algo lento, pero en tema de jefes, musica y objetos equipables el juego es muy entretenido y te puedes hechar una gran cantidad de horas en el.

    Le jeu est le même, sans la coop et sans la souris ( qui est vraiment importante pour jouer )

    terraria are one of my favorite games it has a lot of content, there are mechanisms, a lot of bosses from difficult to easy, the complexity of the game through the passage with the addition of new mobs true, the last update was less large-scale than I expected, but it's not terrible, although it was added a good NPC mechanics and pylons.

    Very impressed.

    Since the studio who handle the port changed the game got even better. Performance is amazing, didn't notice any fps drop, ever. Control are a bit hard to get used to but they aren't bad and the customization for those was pushed very far. The Switch version is pretty amazing and Terraria aged very well. My only complaint is that the Switch version update is a bit behind

    Great! Open world game to me! It's like Minecraft but it has a lot more content and bosses and I like how the progress of battle gets harder as you play and it's really cool how there is multiple difficulties for your character and your world and they have special world seeds but it's also really hard especially for new people

    Collect, build, fight and customize your world in Terraria. There are dozens of items, materials, weapons and armors you can craft, as well as dangerous foes you will have to defeat if you want to get the best loot. Go solo or join your friends online and create the world you’ve always wanted to live in.

    I believe 505 Games did an excellent job porting Terraria to the Switch and made the most of the buttons, triggers, and joysticks at their disposal. but after so many hours of playing with mouse and keyboard, it is hard to adjust. Though, being able to play Terraria from the comfort of my bed may be worth the effort.

    That Terraria continues to receive ports to new systems is a testament to the game’s playability. It continues to attract new fans while prompting long-time players to double- and even triple-dip. I don’t think you need the Switch version if you’re already set up on your other gaming system(s) of preference (especially at the current price). If the Switch is your only option, however, it’s good enough for us to offer a recommendation. Let’s just hope the developers manage to dig up and build couch co-op before night falls again.
