If you’re not a fan of hunting down collectibles, Taxi Chaos might lose it’s steam pretty quick. The visuals do the trick, with only a few minor hiccups. There are some occasional glitches here and there – this one time I hit a weird jump and ended up flying in the air as high as the tallest buildings – but they’re few and far between. The voicework gets repetitive real quick, but eventually I just learned to zone it out. I do wish they had some licensed tracks here, but I get music licensing can be pricey. While I’ve easily logged in a dozen or so hours into Taxi Chaos, I’m still itching to get back into Free roam to find every last collectible. I truly hope the team at Team6 Game Studios are hard at work at some DLC, because I would love more content.

Taxi Chaos is a fun reminder why Crazy Taxi is so great, but also why we probably haven’t seen the series return. Had the game been more expansive, with greater variety and other modern amenities, this homage could have surpassed the original. As it is, it’s worth playing, but it definitely doesn’t shine as brightly as Sega’s original.

Taxi Chaos feels very much like a proof of concept; it's certainly evidence that a taxi game has its place in 2021, though it's lacking that vital spark that would truly make it a must-play title. The city itself is well-made, with plenty of sights to behold, but the overall visual design feels a bit generic and lacks its own voice. There are few incentives to play for extended periods of time, so how long the game lasts is largely dependent on your own willingness to climb the online leaderboard. Nevertheless, Taxi Chaos is an admirable revival of a genre that’s been dormant for far too long, and a good foundation for a potential sequel down the line.

Taxi Chaos sadly misses all the charm and fun Crazy Taxi came with. With poor graphics, simple gameplay and a ridiculous £31.49 price point, it’s hard to recommend this arcade game.

Crazy Taxi, it ain’t. It may look the part, but with some shoddy mechanics and a charmless soundtrack, Taxi Chaos is anything but a wild ride. [Issue #3, p. 65)

The effort of someone who does something with good intention must always be positively valued, especially if their goal is to bring to this world a spiritual successor to the legendary Crazy Taxi. However, Taxi Chaos still has a long way to go with patches and updates to reach its right destination.

Taxi Chaos wears its inspiration on its full-print shirt's sleeve, but lacks the understanding of what made said inspiration so compelling. There's almost nothing of worth here: A poor imitation of a game that's literally free these days.

It's not perfect yet but if you remember it's an indie game, it can be exactly what you are looking for.

Addicting and fun arcade game in the style of the classic Crazy Taxi. It definitely holds a lot of space for improvement. A first updateAddicting and fun arcade game in the style of the classic Crazy Taxi. It definitely holds a lot of space for improvement. A first update brought more fitting music and some bug fixes. The controller vibration on the Switch feels too strong. The achievement and collectible system seems a bit unnecessary at the current state. I hope the developers continue to listen to feedback and provide improvement and feature updates in the future. Expand

It’s fun to memorize the city and just drive around like crazy but conversations often repeat, and the unlock Taxis are extremely easy to unlock.I’ve gotten one special customer and the conversation was boring and it got cut off mid sentence because I got to the destination to quickly... I had to chose between getting the conversation or getting 5 stars. It’s a good game but it feels like a rip off of Crazy Taxi instead of a spiritual successor. Expand

I just picked this up on sale for $12 and still feel cheated.

The gameplay is so dull and slow. The original Crazy Taxi games had a real sense of urgency, encouraging you to take risks and scare the passenger without crashing. It even used to show your tip going up when grazing close by cars.

There is none of that with this game. Terrible music, fuzzy graphics, slow frame rate, bugs cause you to get stuck in the scenery, repetitive conversations, painfuly slow load times and so, so boring.
