    I don't understand how the metascore for this game got 97%. I'm going to give it 86%. Sure, its a Mario game, but i its not THAT good. It's still a great game to play, don't get me wrong, but they're really are some problems with it. It's pretty cool for Mario to posses enemies by using Cappy. Finding and Collecting moons is the funnest thing to do in the game. The problem with this gameI don't understand how the metascore for this game got 97%. I'm going to give it 86%.     I'm new to the Switch and I was looking for a relaxing game that I could pick up and put down, Super Mario Odyssey definitely delivers. It's a really nice change of pace from the heavy duty games i've played on PS5 and PC lately, the art style is superb, the music is great and it takes me back to owning an N64 as a kid.

    Definitely a fun thing to pick up for those who are a little burnt    I'm new to the Switch and I was looking for a relaxing game that I could pick up and put down, Super Mario Odyssey definitely delivers.     I played this game and found it pretty good. The graphics are impressive, the gameplay is smooth, and each open world is unique and different from the others. However, I only recommend this game to die-hard Mario fans or those under the age of 15 because it's very easy and the story is cute but unnecessary. Clearly, the game was designed for children.     Pretty good. Good graphics, a lot of replayability, chalenging but not too hard... The gameplay, in my opinion, was oriented towards experts, many things were hidden and impossible to find without a guide, and the art style was bland.

    I recently went back and replayed this game, and let me tell you, this is the best 3D Mario in my opinion apart from Galaxy.

    The movement is flawless, the gameplay is amazing and this deserves a sequel.

    Super Mario Odyssey ist mein Lieblingsspiel. Ich finde die verschiedenen Länder Gameplay technisch sehr gut designed und finde es spaßig die einzigen Challenges du bezwingen und das Spiel 100% durchzuspielen.     Super Mario Odyssey is the best Mario game of all time. Great platforms, amazing graphics, wacky and crazy new powers, and top notch and lovable cast to have fun and good time with.

    This game is so joyous. The music, setting, and ambiance make me so giddy. Honestly an incredible game. Once I beat it, I've spent about one hundred hours just doing trickjumps. It's also very replayable. 9/10, great game.

    I can confidently say this is my favorite Mario game at this point. The gameplay is absolutely perfect- it feels like butter to move around anywhere. Mario never feels slow or clunky in the slightest, and the game gives just enough leeway to make reaching areas a fun challenge without ever feeling like you're breaking the game. Every area in the game feels incredibly unique from oneI can confidently say this is my favorite Mario game at this point. The gameplay is absolutely perfect- it feels like butter to move around anywhere. Not to mention, Odyssey has the most thorough post-game of any game I have ever played, giving the player an additional four kingdoms to explore as well as additional moons to go back to in every other kingdom in the game. Odyssey feels like the pinnacle of the 'Sandbox Mario' that I absolutely loved as a child, and every replay I love the game a little bit more. Please let there be an Odyssey 2 lol… Expand

    they've somehow managed to pretty much perfect Mario's moveset, it will feel satisfying to experience players as well as to casual ones. the controls are really fluid and responsive and pulling off several moves one after the other feels so gratifying, almost as if you were a speedrunner.

    the level design is also excellent, every world feels unique and fleshed out, and the moons are fun to collect (i've seen many people criticize the fact there are so many moons compared to other games, saying that it devalues them, but i think Nintendo made the right call here considering how much bigger each world/kingdom is)

    overall, this game is fun all the way through and only became frustrating at the very end, when playing through the "Dark Side" (of the Moon) (but don't worry, this world is completely optional, as it's unlocked by beating the main story.

    honestly, outside of the fairly easy boss fights (at least they added new foes instead of the Koopalings and/or Bowser Jr. again) and the fairly linear progression (not in the worlds themselves, but going from one to the other; you'll visit them in a predetermined order and will only get a split path twice in the game.

    in conclusion, i can't recommend Super Mario Odyssey enough to... pretty much anyone who has any interest in platformers or Mario. this game has surpassed its predecessors, including Super Mario 64, in so many ways, and those who think Mario 64 is better are just blinded by nostalgia (heck, you can even unlock Peach's Castle and a Mario 64 disguise in Odyssey if you really miss this game).    … Expand

Great, excellent, I don't have much to say, do I, the haters be haters, but if you aint, its impossible not to love this thing made of pure fun, also ballon world gives the game like an extra 200 hours of optional playtime. even after playing for like 400 hours, I still hop on and play every once in a while, after I tire of grinding absolute radiance ascended in hollow knight. There were a couple things that really feelt out of place like the realistic humans in suits in New Donk City combined with the cartoony aspect of Mario games... it just feelt weird. Com certeza um dos melhores exclusivos do Nintendo switch, os gráficos são bons pro switch, a jogabilidade intuitiva, mecânicas sensacionais, e uma ótima diversidade de fases, não tive problemas com FPS, o jogo é super bem otimizado, e com certeza um dos melhores jogos do Mario 3d, o cappy é sensacional, ele agrega muito no jogo, até porque ele te permite ser um dinossauro, o bowser é super estiloso, existe diversos Ester eggs no jogo, existe fases em 2d, e pra mim, o único ponto negativo desse jogo, é o modo de 2 jogadores, porque não colocaram o Luigi, apesar do cappy ser um bom personagem, ele não combina com o modo de 2 jogadores, mas enfim, recomendo o jogo, e sensacional, e não é atou que tem uma nota tão alta nos agregadores de notas, jogaço!!!… Expand

    I thought I wasnt a nintendo type of dude, but goddamn I thought games cant make me smile anymore, but this thing right here was quite the turning point for me. This probably even changed my view of gaming as a whole. I grew up playing quake/wolfenstein/cs/gta so I never tried any "softer" games, but oh man I started wishing I had after playing this masterpiece of a game.

    Super Mario Odyssey has to be one of the most ambitious Mario attempts yet, and it pays off. No Mario game has ever felt this smooth to play, with the movement being the best the series has ever seen. The level design and story is also really innovative and fun, and the soundtrack isn't half bad either. There isn't anything bad to say about this game, it's a modern classic.

    This game is really amazing. The movement is nice and the gameplay is fun. However, after playing through the game a couple times, it can feel a bit repetitive or boring. But the best thing about this game is the speedrunning. Super Mario Odyssey is one of the best games for speedrunning, and even I started to speedrun it to.

    I had forgotten to score this game, but I simply have to say that if you haven't played it, you are missing out on a gem of a game. It's one of the most innovative, fun and dynamic games I've seen in the Mario series. Definitely worth it!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ah, good old Mario Odyssey, where should i start? Well probably at the very beginning. After Bowser sends Mario to Cap Kingdom he meets what will soon be his best friend, Cappy! This little fella let's him cap throw, cap jump, cap bounce, down throw, spin throw, up throw and more! This makes the movement very smooth. Specially with Mario's classic wall jumps, dives, etc. After this, Mario will adventure th ru many kingdoms to try and stop Bowser's and Peach's Wedding. After this Mario for the third time goes to space, where he would fight Bowser for the third time. And for the final plot twist, Peach just leaves him! But after this you have WAYYYYYYYYY MORE moons to collect! (880 to be exact) While some peopole might think that this game is worse than 3D World + Bowser's Fury, i personally disagree. And that's why i give Mario Odyssey a 10.… Expand

    The game is perfect. Polished graphics, good movement, easy on most stages and really great story design. Cappy is a really great sidekick for this game, he plays a key role in the game.

    i will start of saying the game is amazing. Odyssey is one of the best mario games. The game is smooth and fun. All the worlds feel alive and are so fun to play. Cappy abilities are an amazing idea that was executed perfectly. But sometime i thought the moons were too much, it wasnt as rewarding to find them.

    This game is just amazing!!
    The jump and run is just perfect.
    There is no crazy story or characters its all about Mario and jump and run. All really ALL Kingdoms are so good designed (Only critic is that there are to much Moons and to easy to collect but in a normal play through it doesn't destroy the game play) I Really Enjoyed Super Mario Odyssey and i would recommend this game to    This game is just amazing!!

    Game is one of the best on the switch. Gameplay was really fun and I had a great time playing it. I do think it is slightly overrated however. Still a great game that i would recommend to any person who asks about it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Super Mario Odyssey is an amazing game. There is so much to do, and if you feel like 100% the game, there are 1000 moons to collect. The ending is phenomenal and this game will always have a place in my heart. It has great replay value and it follows everything a good game needs to be while still being expansive. The only downfall is that it can be very tiring this game, but I think that’s just my perspective.
    This game greatly deserves a 10, but in personal opinion, it falls just short of a 9

    As a kid, I have only ever played the classic 2D Mario and never truly experienced the franchise properly. Upon getting my Switch, I heard people talk up Mario Odyssey as a must buy. Boy were they right. I am not one to go out of my way in games and usually just stick to the main completion route. This game actually made me want to 100% it.     Great fun. Definitely one of the best games and probably my favourite mario platformer. Music's great. Bosses are a bit easy sometimes but it's hard to not love everything about this game. The new donk city level could be expanded into a whole game with the amount of ideas it introduces. Just go play it.

    Lo primero que habría que señalar es que Super Mario Odyssey retoma los plataformas 3D más basados en la exploración, siendo uno de los Mario más cercanos al género de aventuras, contando con NPCs y tiendas, a diferencia de las anteriores entregas más vinculadas a los plataformas lineales. Es decir, es una vuelta al estilo de Super Mario 64 y Super Mario Sunshine, en los cuales el objetivo no era llegar a una meta en cada nivel sino encontrar una estrella o un sol y luego regresar a encontrar otras. Los dos Super Mario Galaxy, así como Super Mario 3D Land y Super Mario 3D World, recuperaron la linealidad de los Mario 2D, por lo que tras muchos años Super Mario Odyssey vuelve a los Mario centrados en la exploración y, es más, se profundiza como nunca en esto, reforzando su estructura de collectathon. Esta vez no se sale del nivel al encontrar el objeto en cuestión, potenciando la exploración en los diferentes mundos.

    El objeto que necesitamos para avanzar son las energilunas, pero a diferencia de las estrellas y los soles, son muy numerosas. Unas están a la vista mientras que otras están muy escondidas. De esta manera, se crea una dificultad por capas, según el grado de completismo de cada jugador, lo que se incita porque a mayor completismo se puede acceder a más mundos. Es una solución bastante equilibrada para que pueda avanzar en el juego el jugador más torpe y, a la vez, suponer un reto para el más experimentado. Es la primera vez que no hay vidas limitadas en un Mario al estar el desafío en la exploración más que en la superación de niveles.

    Pero sin duda la gran novedad es la de la gorra Cappy. Puede usarse para atacar como un boomerang así como para saltar sobre ella para acceder a plataformas, pero su gran utilidad es la de poder controlar a enemigos y algún objeto, lo que da lugar a una serie de mecánicas originales y variadas, resultando realmente divertido. Por supuesto, la jugabilidad es tan satisfactoria como en cualquier Mario, siendo una gozada simplemente controlar al personaje, lo cuál se potencia esta vez por la riqueza de sus mundos. Las animaciones de Mario son geniales, dotando al personaje de vida, con más expresividad que nunca, y además ahora por mera diversión podemos disfrazar a Mario, contando con trajes tematizados de cada mundo. Existe un modo para dos jugadores pero, como los de Galaxy, es un modesto añadido para que un segundo jugador haga algo, en este caso controlar a Cappy.

    La grandeza de este juego está en sus mundos, llamados reinos. Tenemos 15 reinos, más 2 en el post-game. Teniendo en cuenta que cada uno tiene una estructura de mundo abierto, puede decirse que es una buena cantidad. Pero si uno le encuentra inconveniente a este juego, es que hubiera querido más reinos por lo disfrutables que son, lo cuál habla muy bien del juego. Los Mario siempre han sido largos y éste lo es aunque uno quisiera que lo fuera más, pero su extensión es considerable. Cada reino es vasto, más de lo que nunca lo han sido los niveles en ningún Mario, y perderse y explorar en ellos es una gozada. Además, cada reino se compone de dos partes, puesto que cuando derrotamos al jefe en cuestión, el mundo cambia, pudiendo acceder a nuevas zonas y reexplorarlo.

    El alto nivel de su apartado gráfico hace que cada reino sea espectacular, además de contar con el sobresaliente diseño de niveles marca de la casa. Pero algo a reseñar es la intención de hacer cosas nuevas dentro de un universo que se ha convertido en algo tan cerrado temáticamente como el de los juegos de Mario. Es decir, no nos encontramos con los mismos mundos de siempre, a excepción como homenaje del Reino Champinón y de ciertos guiños como zonas bidimensionales en homenaje al clásico Super Mario Bros (1985). También hay enemigos nuevos, incluso como villanos los Broodals, aunque Bowser siga ahí. La música tampoco se queda en la nostalgia y tenemos una buena cantidad de nuevos temas repletos de personalidad que brillan por su calidad, encanto y originalidad. Una banda sonora que supera las expectativas, a la altura de las clásicas, ¡y esto es mucho decir!

    Esta estructura más abierta puede ser el futuro de los Mario 3D, como ya se mostró en el añadido Bowser's Fury del Super Mario 3D World para Switch, una expansión que se desarrolla en un mundo abierto que muestra cómo podría ser el futuro de la saga.
    Super Mario Odyssey es una obra maestra de los plataformas tridimensionales sobresaliente en todos sus apartados que destaca por su originalidad, variedad y diversión.    … Expand

    Good game its pretty easy but with all the moons you have to collect and the final final level the other side of the moon which steps up the difficulty. Other than all that its just fun

    While it was difficult to imagine how Nintendo could top previous 3D Mario adventures, Super Mario Odyssey is nigh-on perfect in almost every way. With the help of Cappy, Mario has never been as fun to control, reaching new heights and, in the hands of a skilled player, accomplishing impossible skips. You need only pick up a controller to see why this is the best modern Mario game ever.

    The best entry to the best platforming series is so ridiculously huge it’s like a theme park made of theme parks. It’s a wonderful tribute to Super Mario 64, but it’s not a lazy homage.
