Bare bones arcade ports with input lag issues and poorly implemented practice mode.

9.9/10 online matches are unplayable because of lag. That's not an exaggeration either.

Online is unplayable because of the worst lag I have ever experienced in a game. It wouldn't be too bad if the offline was fun but it isn't. The games are straight arcade ports and using the joycons just isn't playable, basic kicks and punches work but special moves are really difficult to pull off because the joycons just aren't made for this type of game meaning you can get to theOnline is unplayable because of the worst lag I have ever experienced in a game. The games are straight arcade ports and using the joycons just isn't playable, basic kicks and punches work but special moves are really difficult to pull off because the joycons just aren't made for this type of game meaning you can get to the third or fourth match but progressing further is not going to happen because the level of control is just not there. So annoyed I wasted my money, hopefully I can recoup most of it trading it in whilst it is still new. Expand

I'm sure you can agree that 12 classic fighters, including not one, not two, but four with online play, all for $40, is more than a fair match for your money. [Issue #34 – July/August 2018, p. 73]

All in all, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a must for fans of the series and those wishing to explore its roots. Even with some redundancy across titles and control hiccups, the overall package is stellar. It’s no small feat to pull off a true retro port of this size, and Digital Eclipse has done laudable job of it.

Your enjoyment with Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is going to mainly come down to whether your primary focus is online play. If so, then this isn't going to be your game due to the online play that is spotty at best and non-functional at worst. If not, then this package will definitely be for you, as you'll get 12 arcade-perfect games with gameplay that's still enjoyable today. With the Switch becoming a system that is getting some really good fighting games, this makes for a perfect addition to that genre library.
