I’d definitely urge you to give Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection a go if you’re like me and grew up playing these games either at home or in the arcade, and want a little taste of nostalgia to go along with your modern day fighter. Most of the games in this collection still hold up really well today, and Capcom / Digital Eclipse have done a real solid job in putting this port together.

Capcom may be a little late to its own creation's birthday party, but this is an extremely impressive collection which has been put together with a great deal of care.

The fact that Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection gives players a thorough insight into Street Fighter II, III and the Alpha series is recommendation enough, but when they’re so well presented it makes this more or less essential for fight game fans. Add in the Switch’s portability, and on-the-go multiplayer opportunities (if you’re both willing to forgive the limitations of the Joy-Con) and this is everything a Street Fighter fan could hope for.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is not just a collection, it's a celebration of Street Fighter's three decades in gaming. Featuring twelve games, including some of the series' most iconic titles, as well as an enjoyable local multiplayer and a well designed online multiplayer (though not for all games in the collection), this might very well be one of the best collections ever made in the history of gaming.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is the perfect way to celebrate a landmark occasion for the series, the games are as fun as they've always been and the addition of online multiplayer means the collection will keep you coming back for years to come.

An immense collection of classic fighting games that shows off just how good the Street Fighter series is. The games themselves are one thing, but the inclusion of the Museum mode allows you to learn so much about the series. Games are often said to be love letters, this is a love encyclopedia and is essential for fans of the series.

The various forms of Street Fighter II are indisputably the main historical attraction of this collection.

Many of the titles do hold up exceedingly well and a good handful of them still feature in professional tournament play even after all these years. Whether you are new to the series or an old-school veteran, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a must regardless of what console you own.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection changes how we view game collections by making the match making experience streamlined instead of having us go to each game individually. The museum has an incredible amount of care put into it with even the concept art of the first game available to look through. Digital Eclipse has outdone themselves with an incredibly humbling anniversary collection.

An utterly essential purchase for any self-respecting fighting game fan. Because of Street Fighter's importance to the genre, this is like a history lesson in how the one-on-one fighter has evolved over time; from its rather bumbled inception with the original Street Fighter to its break-out moment with the sequel and its slow and steady refinement with the Super, Alpha and Street Fighter III sub-series.

This is a real love letter to the Street Fighter series. Eleven genuine classics (and one stinker) all ported with great care and with a museum of developmental and concept art, soundtracks and an interactive timeline of the series that’ll take a good hour or so to look through, it’s a great way to celebrate Street Fighter’s 30th birthday even before you factor in the online and training modes for the four marquee titles.

I'm sure you can agree that 12 classic fighters, including not one, not two, but four with online play, all for $40, is more than a fair match for your money. [Issue #34 – July/August 2018, p. 73]

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a great celebration of Street Fighter’s history. While I’d rather have seen Street Fighter IV as opposed to five versions of Street Fighter II, I can’t really complain about having twelve games in one collection, though only four are playable online.

The Switch version is pretty damn fantastic. I’ve played this on both PS4 and Switch. It plays great and everything runs and looks super on the Switch screen. If you’re a fan of the franchise, this is a great piece of history that has a lot of things fans will adore.

My only regret is that the Switch version I tested is crippled by Nintendo’s directional controls. If the Switch title’s portability wasn’t so compelling, the control issues alone would force me to choose another platform — Ultra Street Fighter IV would be another good reason to look elsewhere. I can only hope Capcom releases a patch of some sort to mitigate the Switch’s D-pad issues.

All in all, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a must for fans of the series and those wishing to explore its roots. Even with some redundancy across titles and control hiccups, the overall package is stellar. It’s no small feat to pull off a true retro port of this size, and Digital Eclipse has done laudable job of it.

Your enjoyment with Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is going to mainly come down to whether your primary focus is online play. If so, then this isn't going to be your game due to the online play that is spotty at best and non-functional at worst. If not, then this package will definitely be for you, as you'll get 12 arcade-perfect games with gameplay that's still enjoyable today. With the Switch becoming a system that is getting some really good fighting games, this makes for a perfect addition to that genre library.

Street Fighter is a cultural phenomenon and even if you're not a fighting game fan you likely know plenty about Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile and the rest of the main cast. The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection puts together the early history of the franchise and allows you to really see how the series began and how it moved towards where it is today.

Even when taking into account that some of these games are not very different from one another, the content on offer in Street Fighter II 30th Anniversary Collection presents arguably the best value for money in that specific genre on Nintendo Switch and the bonus features, like museum and sprite viewer, are actually well worth checking out for lovers of the series. However, one of the main components, the online mode, is not really enjoyable in its current state so, unless a fix is on the way, this removes some of the fun that there would otherwise be in playing this on Nintendo Switch.

A worthy celebration of one of the most important franchises in gaming, although by leaving out Street Fighter’s console heritage there are a few gaps in the content.

The most impressive thing about Street Fighter is just how playable it is to this day (at least, from Street Fighter II onwards).

It won't satisfy every specific demand, but it's still a big collection of awesome games and behind-the-scenes content that no Street Fighter fan should miss. Street Fighter is a series worth celebrating and Digital Eclipse has managed to do so in a manner that feels respectful to the series and to the people who keep the spirit of arcade battles alive.

There is no doubt that Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is one of the best compilations that have ever been made on a saga. Although during these 30 years some more games of the saga have been released and they have been left out of this compilation, both the games and the extras included are great, with the Museum as its greatest exponent.

A fantastic love letter to its ascension, and as bloated as it may seem to have five editions of SFII (six if you include Tournament Battle), it’s a game that is worth celebrating again and again. And again and again. And one more time, in tournament form.

I’m torn about this collection. On the one hand, I love III and the Alpha series. They’re smooth, gorgeous games with amazing mechanics, cool characters and tons of competitive depth. On the other hand, I’ve got just, no time for the other six games in this collection. They’re slow, clunky and unpleasant. If you’ve got a heavy cache of childhood memories tied up with any version of Street Fighter II, you might get some more mileage out of those games.

A must-buy fighting game compilation. For anyone who has enjoyed the franchise before, it puts a large percentage of the franchise’s highest-quality games in one collection and it’s a great way to catch up and see what all the fuss was about for newcomers. As great as it is, the collection could have easily been better simply by including more versions of franchise-favorites like Alpha 2 to provide a more all-encompassing experience.

Although slightly lacking in features, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is still a well-put together set that brings together 11 arcade-perfect versions of the some of the best fighters ever developed.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection brings a collection that pleases old fans and shows the series past to a new generation showing perfectly why those games became classics. The collection could see some considerable improvements and the Switch itself brings enough peculiarities that should be considered when buying. However, the package is still a great acquisition to any fighting game fan.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a very good throwback to the early 90's when Street Fighter II was taking the world by storm. This version doesn't really improve the recipe, but this title remains a cornerstone for videogames.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is about as definitive as you can get when it comes to arcade perfect ports of Street Fighter II, Alpha and III. Die-hard fans of the series will appreciate the dedication to a perfect emulation of the arcade experience, but this is ironically the package’s biggest downfall. Some glaring omissions aside, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection represents the best way to play the majority of the classic Street Fighter canon competitively and that’s got to be worth something.

It’s the kind of thing that could be used in the future to explain the first decade of the series. Even if you would inevitably get thrashed taking this game online, this collection’s overall production values and ease of use make it something that can be toyed with and enjoyed even if you can barely Hadouken.

An arcade perfect collection of twelve titles across Street Fighter's grand history. Unfortunately, it's missing some of the bells and whistles of their console counterparts and online play is a bit rough. Despite those problems, local play is a winner and the Museum is packed with content showing a real love for the franchise's history. If you know what you're getting into, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a great compilation, just not a perfect one.

Finally got to spend some time with the game, I can confirm how it is a fantastic way to play the SF Alpha and SF3 games, which is greatFinally got to spend some time with the game, I can confirm how it is a fantastic way to play the SF Alpha and SF3 games, which is great because those are easily my favorite Street Fighter games and the main reason I bought this collection. The various versions they got of SF2 are faithful to the arcade, but they are nowhere near as good to play as Ultra SF2 (which is a separate game released around the time the Switch launched). The problem I have with them is how even on the easiest difficulty the computer seems to be very difficult, especially with Super SF2 Turbo which seems to be on some sort of insanity setting. The original game isn't great but it is nice how they included it. Overall if I want to play SF2 I am going to stick to Ultra, the pre-Alpha games in this collection feel like they are just there for nostalgic purposes.

Luckily SF Alphas and SF3 feel a lot more balanced... well until you face Gill the unbeatable boss in SF3 that is. I think Alpha 3 is probably the best game for trying to beat the arcade mode with. You can adjust the difficulty however you like and turbo speed for the games that support it before you start the games, and after you start a game you have a range of ways to customize the visuals. They did a good job of letting you setup the games how you like.

The SF3 series is definitely my favorite though. The first SF3 has the best backgrounds of any Street Fighter game IMO, they are all beautifully detailed with a lot of animation and they change with every round. SF3 2'nd impact is probably my all time favorite Street Fighter game, it has the best music and sound out of all of them IMO and the backgrounds look really nice and some also change with the rounds, the fact that it has a lot more characters than the first SF3 gives it some more variety and there are notable additions to the gameplay. SF3 3'rd Strike is the favorite of competitive players, and probably the best game to play online. It has even more characters and even more improvements to the gameplay. I just didn't like the music nearly as much as the first two SF3 games is all, and it feels like it has the worst backgrounds out of all the SF3 games. Still a beautifully made game, just not quite as pleasing to listen to and look at as the earlier games in the series.

Overall you can't go wrong with this collection if you have any interest in Street Fighter.

this game is AMAZING, if you want the best value classic street fighter experience on any platform this is it!! 12 games total, 4 online allthis game is AMAZING, if you want the best value classic street fighter experience on any platform this is it!! 12 games total, 4 online all as authentic as possible to the original experience (no stupid looking HD sprite redraws etc...) do not buy it if you intend to play it on a joycon!!! you will not have fun!

some of these reviews are either naive or just ridiculous! no SF or other fast paced fighting game is playable online without a) an arcade stick/good controller with a decent dpad (think wiiu, xbox one, 8bitdo, snes controllers/dpads) & b) a wired high speed, low ping internet connection, you cant blame the game/developers for the lag over wifi or need for low latency online connections, so ideally youre going to want both the above things to play this in its optimal state.. the same as ANY street fighter or fast paced fighter on any platform...
