One thing that stands out about the game is the art style. Everything is flat and 2D and looks as if it could all be made from craft paper. The characters are full of life and have personality, which is surprising, considering they exist in a puzzle game. They have a range of facial expressions that make me laugh every time I play. Whether it’s a sneaky look while creeping along close to the ground or a shy blush when your partner cuts a bit of you away, the characters truly bring the game to life.

Snipperclips feels right home in Nintendo's colorful and loveable library. The characters are cute, the music is memorable, the gameplay is easy to pick up with the right amount of challenge, and the amount of content is perfect for the budget price of admission. If you've got a Nintendo Switch and a friend or three, you'd be a fool to pass on this gem up.

Snipperclips is an absolute delight that should not go overlooked. This charming title had the ability to pull me away from Breath of the Wild, while still providing truly innovative puzzle design. This game works better as a multiplayer experience, inviting others to join in with its cartoonish designs and side-splitting gameplay. Snipperclips isn’t a long game, but it’ll still provide hours of head-scratching, gut-busting, body-snipping fun.

Snipperclips requires thought, co-ordination and timing in a combination that means friendships will be tested.

No matter how you cut it, Snipperclips is a gem of the Switch eShop, presenting a fresh puzzle experience that is daring and delightfully peculiar. If we’re all lucky, Snipperclips will take off and become the next Pushmo or BoxBoy from Nintendo, showing up every year or so with new puzzles and wrinkles. If you’re looking for a game to compliment Breath of the Wild, this is a grand one.

Nintendo Switch's second best launch game, Snipperclips is the perfect game if you're wanting to push your new console's multiplayer features. Fun puzzles combine with a gleefully cute aesthetic to make for a worth addition to any new owner's Switch library.

Snipperclips is a terrifically charming package. It's one of those rare games I can flat-out recommend to everyone because odds are you'll have a blast with it, and so will anyone you share it with. If you're a Nintendo Switch owner, this deserves to be your next game after Zelda.

Forget 1-2-Switch or Super Bomberman R. This is the multiplayer gem that Switch so desperately needs. Smart, creative and with a very distinctive artdesign this is a beautiful cooperative puzzle extravaganza.

It will not stop the global warming, it doesn’t cure cancer or even introduce any new trends in game design, but in almost every level it proves that Zelda is not the only must-have title on Switch. It matches the platform’s nature perfectly. [05/2017, p.70]

Forget about 1,2 Switch; Snipperclips is the perfect way to show off the multiplayer aspect of the Switch. Whether you want to team up to solve puzzles or throw down in a papercut match to the death, this game is an absolute hoot; and all at an extremely reasonable price tag.

Snipperclips offers hours of head-scratching puzzle fun with you and a friend. The price point is fair for the number of levels and modes it offers to encourage you to come back to work with your friends in party mode or take them on in Blitz mode. The difficulty curve is steep and some of the puzzles are too cryptic, but with determination and proper communication, you can tackle any problem. Make sure you bring a friend!

Snipperclips - Cut it out, together! is great fun for all the family. It may be a little on the short side, but with two or more people playing those hours will be both frantic and funny. Arguably the second best game of the Switch's launch, I cannot recommend this eShop title enough.

Snipperclips is what you make of it. It’s a non-stop puzzler joy that you can share with friends to demonstrate what the Nintendo Switch can actually do. There’s fairly little depth in terms of replayability, but at a budget price, it fits the niche that can serve seasoned players and newcomers, alike. Try getting through this without a laugh or two.

Snipperclips is probably the funniest experience you can get at Nintendo Switch's debut. Smart and fun in single-player, hilarious and crazy with friends, this puzzle game has everything you need to play and laugh with a Joy-Con in your hands.

Snipperclips is designed around having a small burst with a friend or three, although it could easily take up an entire night with the right person. The mere fact that you can play this game with someone else out of the box thanks to the Switch’s design, mixed with the fact that there’s serious enjoyment to be had, makes this purchase a must-have for Switch gamers looking for something challenging and unique.

For $20, Snipperclips is a pretty easy investment to recommend. Most players are likely to extract at least a handful of really entertaining hours out of it—that is, if they can ever muster the willpower to peel themselves away from Zelda.

Snipperclips gives players an overall enjoyable experience that allows them to sit down and relax while playing alone or with some friends. The puzzles start simple but get complex enough that it will take some creative thinking to figure them all out. While it may not offer a ton of replayability after every level has been beaten, it can easily make for a fun experience when showing it to someone who has never tried it out before. Someone looking to pick up a simple multiplayer title for the Nintendo Switch to sit down and enjoy with a friend need look no further than Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together!

The way its gameplay and its challenges are designed, Snipperclips turns out to be less than thrilling when played by just one player and under-performing and somewhat chaotic when played by thee or four players. Through cutting, moving and rotating shapes, Snipperclips forms one of the most original two-player experiences on the Nintendo Switch so far.
  28. 80
Ultimately, SnipperClips is an experience to be shared. It’s a great game for introverts, for families who game apart and for friends who want to introduce others to their hobby, simply because it’s wildly successful at moving the solitary experience of completing a puzzle into a safe and welcoming social sphere. It gives you a common goal which everyone can understand, and an environment where players will genuinely need each other’s help to succeed. It also boasts a fair amount of content which will last a few solid afternoons with friends. With the only barrier of entry being that you’ll need someone (literally anyone!) to play with, SnipperClips is a game which is sure to delight any Switch owner.

Snipperclips is an enjoyable little puzzle game that brings friends and families together. The primary mechanic - cutting each other into useful shapes - is instantly intuitive. Whether you're playing in a duo, or in a group of four, Snipperclips will delight... until you run out of puzzles.

The real fun of Snipperclips is in those first 45 puzzles, played with a friend over many short sessions or – as we did – in one afternoon. Once you’ve solved them, of course, there’s little reason to go back and play them again, but at £18 on a console with a currently limited catalogue, for anyone who owns a Switch this highly sociable game is a must-buy.

Snipperclips is a couch co-op game you can play anywhere you want. Snipperclips won’t go down as the biggest or most ambitious Switch game ever, or even the one that best demonstrates the console’s features. However, it's a game that knows what it wants to be – a smart, inventive co-op puzzle game – and does a great job of being it. Played solo it isn't all that enjoyable, but pair up or find a foursome and you have one of the most enjoyable, if stressful, co-op games since Overcooked.

Snipperclips is a cute and lovely combination of puzzle and action that, despite its simple premise, delivers a massive variety of different situations to solve by simply cutting ourselves. Perfect to play with friends, also thanks to the extra minigames, but the 1 player mode could have been a bit longer.

What a hidden gem! Snipperclips: Cut it Out, Together is a definite must-buy on Nintendo Switch, showing off not just a fantastic idea with great puzzles, but driving home the team-work element that works so well on Switch thanks to its 'play anywhere, anytime' ethos. Sit with a friend, get family members involved, or even go it alone, play it in tabletop mode, portable, or even on the big screen - whatever the case, it all works perfectly. This is going to eat away at the hours, without a doubt. SFB Games and Nintendo have struck gold with this one.

An impressive showing both as far as first-round Nintendo Switch games go and puzzle titles in general. It’s a bargain for the amount of time you’ll get out of it, and it’s rife with color, intrigue, challenging puzzles, and adorable graphics. The only real problems arise from the fact that it’s meant to be played with others, so if that’s not your bag you won’t get as much out of it. For everyone else, however, this is a system-seller, especially since you can enjoy it on the go. You’ll want to cut in on a Snipperclips session, that’s for sure.

As of right now, Snipperclips is the second best game on the Nintendo Switch, more than deserving of a small investment of time and money. Snipperclips is a joyously accessible, deceptively smart multiplayer treat, and a game that really sells the whole Switch philosophy.

Solving every puzzle won’t take too long, but Snipperclips is continuously clever in its puzzle design and adorably fun to watch play. It left me eagerly waiting to reunite more frogs, put together more cat puzzles, and solve whatever other odd challenges developer SFB Games might have in mind.

On its own, Snipperclips is a charming indie puzzle game, but its quality is magnified due to the size of the Nintendo Switch’s launch list. Snipperclips is a fun, charming title that players will enjoy, and is a great start to the “Nindie” movement that Nintendo is embracing for the Switch.

A fun and clever multiplayer experience that would have been perfect if it were bundled with the console itself. It might lack that special spark of genius that could have turned Snipperclips into a cult classic, but it's still a fascinating and appealing way to show off your brand new Switch to anyone (gamer or not).

If you're done with Zelda Breath of the Wild, we suggest you go for Snipperclips as it's a good concept to demo the Switch's abilities along with some nice puzzles to resolve. The paper cutting aspect is clever and the game is sold for way less than the boring 1-2 Switch.

Snipping your construction paper friends into different shapes is a clever idea, and one that will test the limits of your real-life friendships. Cute squishy faces and grade school-esque design add to Snipperclips‘ charms, though they’re slightly offset by some shallow additional game modes and wonky multiplayer.

Snipperclips is a pretty clever game, very enjoyable with friends and a good option for Switch users now that its catalogue isn't too big. Still, it's quite short and not particularly fun if you play alone.

Snipperclips works best as a shared experience. When you're working with friends and you do finally complete a tough level together, the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie is palpable. Unfortunately, there's no real reason to replay levels--once you've figured out a solution, there's no incentive to try again, since there's no tangible benefit to finding out more efficient solutions. Snipperclips is indeed engaging, but it's likely something you'll only ever play through once. It isn't a Switch showstopper, but when a game is this inventive and appealing, it doesn't need to be.

If you’re looking to move beyond the most obvious of the Nintendo Switch’s launch line-up, you could do far worse than to invest in the Joy-Con and Snipperclips bundle. It captures the essence of the likes of Overcooked!, but with a clear emphasis on using shapes to solve the physics puzzles. Yes, there is a limited amount of content and that hampers the appeal somewhat, but it’s a great icebreaker at house parties.
  60. Mar 11, 2017

Snipperclips may be a charming little cooperative puzzler but its lack of content and tendency to be more annoying than fun makes it a difficult game to widely recommend. If you're desperate for another Switch title then it may be worth downloading. Everyone else would be better off waiting for something more cutting-edge.
