Snipperclips is an absolute delight that should not go overlooked. This charming title had the ability to pull me away from Breath of the Wild, while still providing truly innovative puzzle design. This game works better as a multiplayer experience, inviting others to join in with its cartoonish designs and side-splitting gameplay. Snipperclips isn’t a long game, but it’ll still provide hours of head-scratching, gut-busting, body-snipping fun.

Snipperclips requires thought, co-ordination and timing in a combination that means friendships will be tested.

Once you’ve solved them, of course, there’s little reason to go back and play them again, but at £18 on a console with a currently limited catalogue, for anyone who owns a Switch this highly sociable game is a must-buy.

The finished product is an absolute gem that only helps to highlight one of the major benefits of the platform by allowing for stop-and-drop multiplayer at a moment’s notice. Indeed, this downloadable game is well worth the paper.

However, it's a game that knows what it wants to be – a smart, inventive co-op puzzle game – and does a great job of being it. Played solo it isn't all that enjoyable, but pair up or find a foursome and you have one of the most enjoyable, if stressful, co-op games since Overcooked.

After playing Snipperclips, we only can say that we want more. It's good news that Nintendo has trusted in independent creativity for this title, becoming one of the best titles for Nintendo Switch at launch.

As of right now, Snipperclips is the second best game on the Nintendo Switch, more than deserving of a small investment of time and money. Solving every puzzle won’t take too long, but Snipperclips is continuously clever in its puzzle design and adorably fun to watch play. It left me eagerly waiting to reunite more frogs, put together more cat puzzles, and solve whatever other odd challenges developer SFB Games might have in mind.

It's a shining example of how games can be accessible and fun for players of any level, and in the Switch launch line-up is probably the most laid-back and flexible multiple experience available.

If you're done with Zelda Breath of the Wild, we suggest you go for Snipperclips as it's a good concept to demo the Switch's abilities along with some nice puzzles to resolve. The paper cutting aspect is clever and the game is sold for way less than the boring 1-2 Switch.

Cute squishy faces and grade school-esque design add to Snipperclips‘ charms, though they’re slightly offset by some shallow additional game modes and wonky multiplayer.

Snipperclips is indeed engaging, but it's likely something you'll only ever play through once. It isn't a Switch showstopper, but when a game is this inventive and appealing, it doesn't need to be.
