Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is a chaotic but still fun beat'em'up. Local multiplayer is almost a must for games of this kind and is happy to provide one or the other fun evening with the buddies. Only Ubisoft is holding back this game. The forced registration of a Ubisoft account as well as the holding back of the DLC and the online mode is really disgusting. And after all that, the online mode doesn't even work properly. We can really only hope for a patch that will be released this time. Expand

I like Scott Pilgrim a lot and it's good that this game is back out there.
The game is kind of unfair and the difficulty is all over the place.
It could use some more polish, but the graphics and the music are top notch. It would be really nice to know the stats items give "before" you buy them. Overall the game is good and fun, even more with friends. Now it's time to hate on

Now it's time to hate on Ubisoft, because just like the PC version which has no sound and they haven't fixed since it came out. There is also problems with this Switch version.
    - Sometimes half of the music is just gone for the entire level
    - Screen tearing.
    - Invisible enemies.

How hard is it to release a functioning game Ubisoft?
    Geez.

Style over substance, but still an enjoyable game. Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game - Complete Edition is riddled with bugs, absurd difficulty curves, and random graphical issues, but maintains a visually pleasing adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's original comics as well as fantastic music throughout. While the game lacks in depth combat, and bosses after the first one lack phases whatsoever, Scott Pilgrim is still a pretty alright brawler. The RPG-like levelling system allows the difficulty curve to be overpowered with patience and grinding, but levelling up too far makes the game a lot less enjoyable. The fact cutscenes are unskippable and sometimes in multiplayer the screen will cease to scroll is also criminal. Ubisoft had an opportunity to make a definitive version of this game in its re-release, but it really just feels like a straight port and nothing more.

I think you should play this game if you're a Scott Pilgrim fan, but *only* if you're a Scott Pilgrim fan. This game provides little to nothing for fans of mechanically deep brawlers and beat em ups, but I still can't help but love it. There's charm and care oozing out of everything but the actual programming

Zwei Herzen steigen empor und finden sich; honigsüße Animation, kerniger Soundtrack und schwer, Scott Pilgrim schafft dich.

    Pros:
    + great pixel art
    + great retro ost
    + fun combos
    + just like the movie

    Cons:
    - unbalanced
    - weird rpg system
    - some essential abilities takes too long to unlock

Waaaay too difficult on easy. Have to start at the beginning of levels when you die. There are waaay better brawlers. Dissatisfied

Fun to have a great beat em up on Switch. Elements like stores are still hard to navigate and know what you'll be purchasing, which is frustrating. This version is just a remake of the previous games, so original game is at fault.

This game works best with multiplayer because a solo run can be pretty frustrating. Enemy AI isn't the best as most enemies will just sit there and block all your attacks, all while they fill the screen with attacks that can both smack you across the screen and take forever to recover from. This is where other players can come in handy for support and more fun chaos fun. If a solo run isThis game works best with multiplayer because a solo run can be pretty frustrating. This game will punch the highlights out of your hair. It’s a hard and fast retro throwback that was revived for a very good reason. [Issue #3, p.64]

As a highly addictive beat ‘em up and a great trip down the 16-bit memory lane, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World definitely deserved a chance to shine on new platforms. For a couple of days I was pretty much unable to put my Switch down. [03/2021, p.47]

Just having this game available again makes it a 10 in terms of recommendation to anyone who felt like they missed out the first time. [Issue #51 – March/April 2021, p. 22]
