This is one of the more unheralded Super Nintendo JRPGs, but the update is of a high quality, and while I don’t think it’s a classic example of the genre by any means, it is still a very enjoyable game. A clean, enjoyable combat system, plenty of enemies to fight, and a bit of exploration and puzzle solving on the side; this is the kind of classic JRPG experience that I’ll never get tired of.

Allowing you to pick your own heir to the throne and affect direct change across a whole country is impressive, making the story feel like its your own. This is emotionally strengthened by other elements like permadeath. While it can be frustrating to play at times, it is absolutely worth experiencing Romancing SaGa 2; a truly hidden gem in the Square Enix library.

A game that we recommend to jrpg enthusiasts who do not fear experiences of gameplay sui generis.

Romancing SaGa sub-series are considered like the best on the franchise and Romancing SaGa 2 is a very good example.

    Positive:
+The battle system is actually the second best on the series (i consider the best SaGa: Scarlet Grace) with a lot of forms to play it and use very well the turn-based system an LPs system. I give it 9/10.

+The world feels alive and very interesting to explore, with tons of localizations and dungeons filled with enemies and NPCs to talk. I give it 9/10

+The Bosses are the best from the Romancing SaGa sub-series. In the other RS games the bosses had something interesting, but they didn't felt like they were something alive, but here, the thing changes and now you are feelling like they actually want to kick your ass. I give it 10/10

+The soudntrack is amazing! the composer is the genius Kenji Ito, who is considered the main compositor of the SaGa series. The game contains memorable songs like "Battle 1" or "The Seven Heroes' Battle". 10/10

+The plot behind this Romancing SaGa is by far, the best from the Romancing SaGa sub-series. But that doesn't means it is flawless. Romancing SaGa 2 starts about how the seven heroes saved prevously the world, and then how they were forgotten. You are the emperor and your will is to protect the empire from the fallen seven heroes. Yes, it sounds interesting, but in the game it doesn't explain that much how they become evil and that stuff. I give it 7/10

    Negetive:
-This game it's very difficult, i mean, i've died like tons of times and it's kinda frustrating for me.

-The lack of plot at some points of the game.

OVERALL: 9/10. A very solid game with some flaws, but that doesn't make it less fun (Expect a lot of fun from this game)
