As it stands, these are both really solid ports of some pretty fun video games from the last generation brought to portable life on the Switch. If you’re in the market for more Resident Evil on the go, then you’ll likely want to pick both up when you have a chance.

A game that leaves the surival horror in the background and focuses on fighting. It shines in its multiplayer section but fails to give us a more frightening story.

Resident Evil 6 is not what you would call a Resident Evil, but it’s a good over-the-top action shooter that works pretty well on Switch. This version could’ve had a better optimization, but it’s perfectly playable.

Resident Evil 6 will always have its fair share of naysayers, and that’s completely fine. It’s easy to disregard it thanks to its blatant effort to appeal to as many gamers as humanly possible, and in doing so largely losing its identity in the process. But it’s certainly not a bad game, and in terms of pure gameplay, it’s arguably far more accomplished than its immediate predecessor, albeit with a more disappointing story-line. If you’re after a straight-up action shooter, you could do a lot worse than Resident Evil 6, but if you’re looking for an experience similar to the earlier games in the series, then you definitely won’t find that here.

As in previous versions, Resident Evil 6 is a game that you can love or hate, depending on what you expect. If you're looking for classical survival, you won't find it here... but if you are looking for mindless action movie full of content, you will like it. The Switch port is at least very good: it looks and moves like a charm.

Resident Evil 6 was a strange mix of messed up elements and good ideas, with too many action and shooting elements in the flow. The Switch version takes it portable, despite some bad textures and unstable framerate.

Although the technical issues are a shame, the game is still technically fully playable without too much issue, and is certainly a lot more interesting than Resident Evil 5. If the Switch is your only option to play Resident Evil 6 then this port will have to do, but it’s a shame that the system can’t quite handle how intense the experience is. Still, if you can accept the technical limitations and the lack of horror here then Resident Evil 6 can deliver a really great time, and can finally be looked at as just another fun anecdote in the history of the series.

Resident Evil 6 on Switch offers staggering value and bombastic action, but its muddled tone and lack of survival horror may leave long-term fans torn.

A solid conversion of a disappointing game.

Sadly RE4 doesn't have motion controls...

I played the original on the X360 and as well as the PS4 version. I enjoyed the console versions very much, and I still feel like RE6 is underrated. Anyways, when I played through Leon's Campaign, I would be in school, chilling in my first period secretly playing with my backpack covering my switch. The experience is very much solid on the Switch. I was more impressed on how well it ran and how the framerate in my experience was very consistent. No bad frame pacing or anything. This is well worth your money. Yeah the story can be cringey, BUT considering this is a handheld version that gives you access to multiple campaigns, I say its worth your money. There is plenty of content to keep you busy, unllike *cough*RE3 Remastered*cough*, excuse me. Overall, a good buy for your switch if you're a fan of the game, or even as a new entry into the series. ps. *anyone else get scared in the cemetary area? xd* Full Review »
