"Yatsuzakikou" is a serial killer who has killed more than 100 people and thrown the country into chaos.

To put an end to his murder spree, the finest members of the "Detective Alliance," an organization made up of only the top detectives, launch a joint investigation.

Around the same time, an ordinary boys' high school student named Wato Houjou, who longs to become a detective, arrives at a remote island where the Detective Alliance is headquartered under the guidance of a mysterious man named "The Sage Detective."

On the island, Wato could not hide his excitement at meeting the Detective Alliance he so admired. However, when the detectives suspected him to be Yatsuzakikou, he was at a loss for words.

Yatsuzakikou had already infiltrated the island, and many detectives have been murdered.

To clear his name, Wato and the Detective Alliance leader, the "Ideal Detective," launch an investigation.

14 detectives remain alive. And Yatsuzakikou is among them.

Despite these minor issues, Process of Elimination is high quality, authentic, classical example of Japanese detective fiction. It’s not subversive or particularly boundary-breaking, but it’s also a very good student of the genre. So long as you can still kick back and enjoy a good Conan Doyle, Christie or Ranpo story, you’ll enjoy what this has to offer.

Process of Elimination is a fun detective game with an interesting cast and story as well as a unique board game twist on investigating. As long as you're prepared to read a lot of text, you'll enjoy unraveling the mystery of The Quartering Duke.

On the whole, I enjoyed Process of Elimination. The story kept me guessing like a good mystery should and it had some brilliant ideas. However, my frustrations with it all came from feeling it could have pushed those ideas into even more exciting territory. Mystery enthusiasts will definitely find something to love here. But those looking for a meaty strategy experience may feel a little disappointed.

Thanks to a solid cast, Process of Elimination delivers a good experience, despite not being the most ambitious.

Process of Elimination is a fun visual novel in which you must solve a murder mystery on an island of super-detectives. Actual gameplay is light, but the bonkers story, mini-games, and detective puzzles make this a mystery worth solving.

Process of Elimination was full of surprises in more ways than one. Its twists and turns make for a great murder mystery that visual novel fans will want to sink their teeth into, but the comically brief tutorial of the investigative segments may lock players out of the entire experience. If you’re twiddling your thumbs waiting for another Danganronpa title and have 10 – 15 hours to kill, Process of Elimination issues this challenge: don’t get eliminated.

Process of Elimination never hits the highs of Danganronpa’s zany cast, intense trials, or attention-grabbing set pieces, but it does come close. With a brilliant cast to carry the story, clever sleuthing, and enough twists to keep you going, this is a game any wannabe detective should consider.

If you like danganronpa you'll probably enjoy this. The investigation parts felt unique and different than other visual novels and I loved the story and Characters. Only real downside was that there's no English voice acting but obviously wasn't a deal breaker for me

As a visual novel fan this is my favorite switch game I've played this year and one of my favorite games of 2023 so far
