    - El juego se vuelve demasiado fácil.

This seriously fels like it was made for 5 year olds or younger? Also it is super annoying to have to throw my controller at the screen to catch Pokemons, just stop with those things please. I have read some other comments that say the older games are better and more hardcore though so I might check some of them out instead, but this has seriously left a bad taste in my mouth for the whole "Pokemon thing" so I don't know if I even want to do that. Pros:
-Graphics are Clean, the enviornments were very detailed compared to even newer Pokemon games.
-The catching was fun (When it worked).
-The ability to walk your Pokemon was a welcoming feature returning from Heartgold and Soulsilver.
-It was fun catching all 152 mons in the game.
-It's one of the more freeroaming Pokemon games, you can catch most of the legendary Pokemon with only 3 badges.
    Cons:
-Mew is locked behind a $50 paywall. I only got him due to Black Friday marking it down by $30, and even then the first Pokeball Plus I got didn't contain the Mew despite being new.
-The game is appealing to a casual market in a series that is already casual as is. The game is too easy and holds your hand a lot, even blocking off gyms untils you got Pokemon with a certain advantage.
-Post game is lacking. You pretty much level up your Pokemon inorder to battle the strongest trainer of that respective Pokemon.
-The catching is not explained very well. The mons would jump around left to right, and the game doesn't tell you how to throw the ball inorder to reach them. The game's tracking is also poor, making it so your ball will sometime be thrown the EXACT opposite way you intended.

The game is fun, but the problems it carries brings it down a lot. 6/10 game, knocking down a point for the Pokeball Plus thing.

This game is a simplified Pokemon game. Great for someone new to the series, veterans may find it a bit too simple. I have played since Blue version so I enjoyed revisiting Kanto in improved graphics. I found the game to be well-made and enjoyed shiny hunting in the post game. Pokemon in the over world was a great quality of life improvement.

They could use work but overall it's very pleasing, the colors are bright and the Pokémon are captivating. But at it's core it's just another Kanto (lite) remake, and I had little desire to complete my pokedex after finishing the game. Catching mechanic is interesting and engaging, but they should have added a toggle on/off. There were a few things that added to its charm and appeal, such as being able to dress up and play with my Pikachu and having a Pokémon follow you around. My Pikachu seemed quite strong, and if you got Mew with the Pokeball plus, the game became extremely easy. I put about 85 hours into this game and caught most of the dex, but have very little desire to pick it back up again. Cute and charming in external appeal, but severely lacking in challenging gameplay. Expand

Alright game. Motion control catching was nice at a start, but I would prefer classic approach more. I liked aesthetics, progression. I would like the coop feature to have more depth (e.g. full splitscreen coop, not second player being just a visitor/ghost).
For a casual and/or nostalgic player (like me) I think it's a fine game. Maybe not groundbreaking, but nice and polished.

Because of this i won't go deeply in the competitive side of pokemon. I'm a competitive player myself, but this game exaggeratedly damages competitive battling with just the removal of abilities, items and moves in an unnecessary attempt to simplify the game. The game is a remake of Pokemon Yellow and takes us back again to Kanto. The graphics of the game are appealing and well done, thanks to the Switch system, the games can really shine much more than they could in the 3DS. However the same can't be said about the OST and some animations. The OST isn't really that bad it's just mediocre, the OST is mostly the same tracks the original gameboy games had but played with violins. Animations for 3D NPCs in the overworld have always been lazily performed and barely changed from the Sun&Moon games, in fact most animations are reused assets from the previous titles. Some move animations like thunderbolt have been updated and have new refreshing visuals but the rest of moves (95%) still have disappointing animations like they did in previus 3DS titles.
The gameplay is fine and the story is barely changed from the original gen 1 games, even though the gen 1 games story sucked, the emphasis the let's go games puts in some moments makes it somewhat acceptable. When it comes to difficulty the game isn't that easy as it was expected to be, if you are not a new player, don't use overleveled pokemon and disable automatic switches in the game options, if you do this the game can be hard enough, even though the pokemon games have never been too hard actually, some pokemon have always been bad when it comes to moves, stats and typings, the candy mechanics can make your pokemon too powerful so the best thing to do is just to use them on pokemon that are weak like non-mega beedrill, or pokemon that you caught with bad IVs. There is one thing that is kind of a double edged sword, this is the following pokemon function. What could possibly be bad about this? Evryone likes to have following pokemon back, and you can finally mount on some of them! The bad thing is the automatic friendship gain with having pokemon outside of the pokeball. The Pokemon amie has been removed (kind of a stupid move, just to centralize eevee and pikachu playing mode), so how do you make pokemon that aren't pikachu/eevee adore you and automatically use insanely broken tactics in combat? With the following function. What that means is that if you don't want your pokemon to be overpowered because of friendship you are forced to not have following pokemon nor mounts(damaging the only source of fast movement). There are no field moves like cut in these game, just like the previous titles, even though these time is your pokemon who cuts/surfs/flies/etc it's done in a kind of stupid way but it's just fine. The game having some alola references, certain dialogues, and updates moves and types are the only references you'll find to other games, overall nothing too special like always. The Post-Game is non-existant besides the fact that they have something called master trainers who are just a bunch of boring battles to show how "good" you are with a certain pokemon. I must say that this is the first game where i have fully completed the pokedex, a popular post-game sugestion for pokemon players is to try to "catch'em all" which was something usually too hard and tedious. With the shortened pokedex and the faster catching system you can actually try to complete the pokedex (easier with someone who has the other version of the game).

The main thing the game has changed from previous titles are wild pokemon catching, which isn't really bad. It's easy enough and simple enough to throw pokeballs and it is more realistic having pokemon on the overworld than suddenly finding a gigantic pokemon on some tall grass.Catching wild pokemon is overall easier but at the same time it's harder when it comes to ensure a catch. If you don't want to waste your masterball your only other option is to use an ultraball with a berry, an the pokemon can escape if you fail too many times which is kind of uhh... It doesn't really make the game harder, it makes the game luck-dependant which kinda sucks. When you are playing normally the catching system will be better for you, on serious cathes like shinies and legendaries, you may choke because of your depressing bad luck. There is no sleeping/false swipe and you can't even use all of your pokeballs since the pokemon will eventually flee. Also as there are no wild battles, you will have to level up you pokemon with wild pokemon catching. Which may fill your PC too much. In conclusion the pokemon go catching system has it's pros and cons.
To summarize, the game is a step back and definately not worth 60$

There are some good features however such as the Pokemon roaming the overworld map, so instead of random encounters you can seek out specific Pokemon, and not having to go to the Pokemon Center to swap out party members.

Ok, some people say that Pokemon Let's Go is nothing but a waste of money, and to that I say no its not! This game is perfect for beginners and was a perfect gap for Pokemon Sword and Shield. although when Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield releases at the end of 2019 there is no point in picking up Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee.

Performance: Like previous titles, expect frame drops, especially in forest or cave areas and in battles.
Music: Nice remixes of the original R/B soundtrack. Pikachu and Eevee are voiced as if from the anime, which is jarring but adorable. However there is STILL no voice acting.
    Gameplay:
Capturing-As frustrating as Go. The chain mechanic was a good idea. But Pokemon run away randomly, breaking your chain. Sometimes they jump around just to be nuisances. Motion controls work alright, you can use the stick in handheld.
Wild encounters-Every battle is like the Safari Zone. You can throw berries as bait for different effects and then pelt it with Pokeballs. Your own pokemon don't help, which made battles feel lonely and repetitive. The pokemon in the game are only from Gen 1, so there's not much variety either. Ironically seeing Pidgey and Rattata everywhere was a big complaint when Go first released. Even FRLG had ways of capturing later gen pokemon (Sevii islands sadly do not return). Likewise, seeing Pokemon walk around the fields made the world lively.
Walking/Riding Pokemon: A beloved feature. However it was disappointing that you can ride so few of the available Pokemon. But it's one of the few reasons to play this game.
Portable PC-Actually kinda useful, since I like to swap my team around. However it doesn't have a lot of freedom to organize since it assumes you only ever use your main team. They tried to make it look identical to Go.
Refresh-Makes a return, but sadly, only for your special partner Pokemon that you start the game with. Most you can do with the other Pokemon is talk with the Pokemon following you or that you're riding on.
Battles-I'm no competitive player, but they removed way to many features, like held items, abilities, and EVs. Now you can OP your Pokemon with candies. Your starter is overpowered to a silly degree, but it cannot ever evolve.
Go-I don't play the mobile game because I live in the country. However, in trying the features, they're horrible. The switch struggles to connect to your phone. I really had to fight with it. Once you bring a pokemon over, it can't ever go back to the mobile game. They also locked a legendary behind it, in the most arbitrary way possible.
Pokeball-It's a neat little device. There are short cut commands you can find online to help with gameplay fluidity. But it works as they described.
Controls: In docked mode, you must use motion controls, but in handheld mode you can play with the stick, motion controls or gyroscope. The motion controls are responsive and I had no problems with them.

Over all, it's a very mediocre and somewhat disappointing entry to the mainline pokemon series. Let's Go takes so few risks that it ended up removing features it feared its casual players would struggle with instead of encouraging players to learn the mechanics. It gives the impression of cash grabbing from nostalgic adults and Go fanatics. There's no point of buying it for the mechanics as the mobile game is F2P, and the nostalgia can be revisited through FRLG, a remake that has more content and challenges by comparison to Let's Go. Even Let Go's graphics aren't enough of an enticement, as the models and textures are unimpressive to look at and the game's performance is laggy.
GF really failed to impress this time, which seems to be a running problem for them ever since XY. And Sword and Shield isn't turning many heads as it looks far too similar to an upscaled USUM. Pokemon games are becoming repetitive and lackluster.
Should you buy?: It's not a game I would recommend or say stay away from. It just exists. Try it if you like what you hear, avoid it if you don't. You aren't missing much by skipping it, and Sword/Shield release later this year so you won't be starved for Pokemon games. Kids may find it an enjoyable experience, but experienced Pokemon fans would probably get very little enjoyment out of it.

This game is unique in that fact that it balances all of the possibilities in Pokemon better than I've ever seen. There is statistical EV and IV training for serious competitors, an easier shiny hunting method for collectors, a spin off story to the generation one games, and simple gameplay for the most casual players.

This game offers a plethora of paths to choose from as a Pokemon Trainer, and makes every one of them provide the player with hours upon hours of fun. As a filler between the last Pokemon games, and the new ones coming to the Switch, Let's Go Pikachu will keep Pokemon casuals satisfied.

The fact that you can longer battle wild pokemons automatically makes this a different game. I like how every Pokemon in the group gets exp though. Nice graphic. Expected a bit more of the game. Maybe a bit more story and a bit more little side challenges. Not asking for a lot. If I had got the game for $10, I would have gave it a 8. At premium price, this game is garbage.

You know for the first Pokémon game on a home console, this sure was underwhelming as hell. Its not a bad game by any means, but it definitely feels like not a lot of effort was placed into this entry of the Pokémon universe. Nevertheless I still invested about 50 hours into this game so I guess there was stuff I liked about lets go, even if the negatives out way the positives.

    Story -

Nevertheless I still invested about 50 hours into this game so I guess there was stuff I liked about lets go, even if the negatives out way the positives.

Story - Come on lets be real guys, when has GameFreak really cared about the story of any mainstream Pokémon game. Its bland and the same as ever. You don't get a starter Pokémon as your first team member, instead you get Pikachu or Eevee depending on what game you bought. Together you will travel around the Kanto region on your quest to become the Pokémon Master and maybe defeat Team Rocket along the way. Same premise as any other Pokémon game.

Graphics/Animation - Graphically the game looks visually uninteresting. This game could honestly fit on the 3DS if Nintendo ever made the decision to port this. Kanto is so boring. Aside from the towns you visit, your going through the grassy plains and caves every corner you turn. You do get Pokémon roaming around the world which gives the area some sort of life, a detail I appreciate. But humans just stand there waiting for you to battle them or talk to them. I want to see them do something other than stand their.

You know I remember a time when Game Freak would redesign a Pokémon's sprite for their next game. Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee have been using the EXACT SAME MODELS since X and Y. That game is now 6 years old and yet we still have Pokémon using the same battle animations and poses again.

Battles never really feel climatic even when fighting against the Elite 4. Your Pokémon just stand there and wait for an attack to happen, whilst nothing interesting goes on in the background. I remember entering one of gyms one time and noticed that there were other trainers watching you in the background as you progressed to the gym leader. But wouldn't it be cool when you were in battle if maybe they were cheering you on. Or something flashy happened in the background of those fights. Welp that never happens, so sorry.

Music - By far the best thing I love about this game, I still want to get the soundtrack of this game. I love the theme of when you battle another trainer or gym leader, its the only thing that makes the battles somewhat interesting. Pokémon never disappoints in the music department

Being A Trainer - There aren't any wild battles now in lets go. Whenever you encounter a Pokémon, you immediately begin to try and catch that Pokémon. Using your joycon, you grab a pokeball and throw it at the pokemon in an attempt to capture it. Now this does make me feel like an actual trainer, but the motion controls half the time can be uncooperative. I would some times miss loads of throws when I knew for a fact that I threw the ball in the direction I was aiming for.

My biggest problem with catching Pokémon in the wild is that they are the only way you can level up your Pokémon. In previous games you would fight a Pokémon in the wild and gain experience points whenever defeating one. If you were low on health or ran out of moves, you would go back to the Poke Centre and heal your Pokémon FOR FREE. You have to have money to buy pokeballs and considering they are the only way you can level your pokemon up aside from rare candies and trainer battles, this means I can't spend money on things I actually want to buy like TMs.

Overall Lets Go Pikachu is definitely a one and done game for me and it hasn't really convinced me to preorder Sword or Shield. Like I said, not a bad game, but definitely one I don't want to revisit.

The starter Pokemon are overpowered and beat everything in the game without trying and get broken moves super early on, they don't let you enter gyms without certain types/levels, you can't battle wild Pokemon, and the enemy AI is trash. Enemy Pokemon will intentionally use non-damaging moves to let you win. Like, constantly. On top of that most other trainers have 1 Pokemon, 2 at best. And if you play co-op mode you get an extreme unfair advantage. How is this acceptable? If you have a full party I genuinely don't think you could lose a battle if you tried. What happened to trial and error? The game holds your hand the ENTIRE game. You can design a game for children without making it such a cakewalk! I mean, look at generations 4 and 5. Those games were definitely children's games, but the difficulty was still ramped up enough that you lost battles occasionally, and you had to battle wild Pokemon to gain levels. I was like 9 years old when I played generation 4 and I struggled, but I still beat the game! Children are not idiots. And if you insist on designing a game for idiots, why not implement a hard mode? Why not AT LEAST give the player the freedom to enter a gym, get obliterated, learn a lesson, and come back once they understand how types work? The game has completely streamlined any difficulty whatsoever. You don't learn or figure out anything on your own- the game does it all for you and gives you all the answers. Not only does it give you the answers but it FORCES you to play the game a specific way.

There are obviously a few good things about the game. Pokemon following you, being able to access the box anywhere you want, no more wild encounters- all good things. However the game sugarcoats these improvements in the easiest Pokemon game literally ever. I honestly can't believe that the Pokemon Company thinks this is acceptable. Pokemon is a huge franchise and it deserves better. This was the most disappointing Pokemon game by far, especially after generations 6 & 7, the easiest generations of all time. Pokemon can be a game for kids but it's also a game for adults- they can't keep giving us bad games, with bad plots, that have literally no difficulty at all and FORCE you to use Pokemon that make the game easier. The game sucks and it's a depressing representation of modern Pokemon. The games could be so much more, but it feels like GF and TPC don't even care about pleasing fans. I'm sick of it. 1/10.

Catching tons of duplicate useless poke'mon gives exp to your team, the only thing really resembling training is you let oak grind your extra unwanted poke'mon into candy, and you use that to buff your team.

It's a shallow form on what poke'mon red/blue/yellow was, and its just kinda meh.

I hope my kids like it, because its boring the hell out of me, and i have been playing poke'mon since i was 8 when blue and red came out.

On top of the gameplay issues, there are also technical issues, from the moment the game starts right away you notice the game drops frames, like really bad, movement is not very smooth and the lag gets annoying quickly.

The game overall just feels sloppy and lazy, i hope this trend does not roll over to the new poke'mon games recently announced, because if it does, they will likely kill the series.

I played the thing for like a 2 weeks, put it down cause i got bored and never picked it up again. I can't decide whether to throw it away or burn it because i don't want anyone playing it if i can help it. I work at walmart and the dang thing sits untouched in the glass case i swear let's go pikachu hasn't been touched in 9 months. Let's go eevee was only worth it because of the frickin eevee. I had to start making my own rules for the game just so i wouldn't get bored. I am so glad that sword and shield came out and have battles in them as far as i can tell because we can hopefully forget about this crap piece of game and let it die in the dust. Great for kids yeah but extremely infurating to me. I don't even play competitive. If it had battles i would have no complaints but no frickin no it left me feeling hollow and like all the pokemon i caught weren't even worth it. Another thing is the fricking forced catching the game makes you do, i literally caught a bellsprout and released it after i made it into brock's gym just because screw that piece of crap. The rule's are great as an idea but horrid in exicution and i dare you to tell me it was "fun" because i will debate you till morning come and tell you it wasn't. This game is bad. Now who is it good for? Families. There are good ideas in it and such but it is just a family game. The company may say it's a core game but i will never count it as such nor do i even want to remember it's existance. I got it as a christmas present because i didn't wanna play it and guess what? I was right. about it all. unequivically right. Now if you're a parent that wants to bond with your child sure go play it but the co-op is terrible and it's completely simplified and base-line. They ripped out every bit of challenge from it and i basically beat the game with my eevee while the other pokemon road on its coat-tails, which i got rid of when i went to face the champion because i never needed them. I hope sword and shield are good because literally nothing else could have been worse than this, even games that are literally made to be a joke are better than this joke of a game. -Being able to see what Pokemon are in the surronding area not only helps make avoiding wild encounters a lot easier, but it also helps give you a better sense of what kinds of Pokemon are in the area if there’s a specific one you are looking for.

    Cons:
-Very easy. Veteran Pokemon players should be able to get through this with little to no trouble
-No option to turn off XP share.
-No way to battle wild Pokemon aside from legendaries, making it more difficult to grind for experience.
-While being able to see the wild Pokemon from the overworld helps make avoiding them easier, it kinda defeats the purpose of Repels since there is rarely a situation where you can’t avoid running into a Pokemon
-The gyro controls for throwing a pokeball can be a bit awkward at times.
-No option to play with the pro controller or even just both joycons in the grip despite the fact that you can play with both joycons when they are connected to the switch in handheld mode. Why exactly?
-Mew is locked behind a $50 paywall in the form of the pokeball plus

Final verdict: The game was better than I was expecting it to be, and I quite enjoyed my time with it. If your new to Pokemon or if you haven’t played Pokemon in a long time and are looking to get back into it, I would definetly reccomend checking it out! Even if you are a veteran player like me you should get some enjoyment from this title, especially if you are nostalgic for generation 1.

This game would have been bad and outdated a decade ago. Now, it's just awful. The art style is uninspiring and bland. The music is repetitive and aged. And the gameplay feels 20 years out of date. The core of the game is an incredibly dull and repetitive lull. The story is generic and bland, so all that leaves you with is the two main gameplay mechanics.

You aim pokeballs. You battle pokemon. That's literally the entire game. After 5 minutes you've already experienced 90% of what the game has to offer. Every fight feels the same, every catch feels the same. The game is just incredibly boring.

The game feels like a bad handheld from over 10 years ago ported to a modern device. The map is unimaginative and linear, the freedom of movement is virtually nonexistent. And the game is scattered with mind-bogglingly bad QoL decisions. The tree chopping ability is a tedious slog to get through, for example, when there is literally no reason for it not to be done automatically and quickly. Accessing what you want requires far too many clicks: three buttons to look at a map, which is completely useless anyway, which in any other game you could pop up whenever you want. And as a whole the game is incredibly slow: there is a painfully tedious amount of downtime in combat.

If the other Pokemon games are anything even remotely close to this, I have no idea how the franchise has lasted so long. I really struggle to think of any redeeming features. And this crap cost me £50.

The game is ok. It's simple, but fun and the graphics, compared with S/M, are great.

I really tried to love the game since i am a sucker for pokemon in general and first gen in particular, but Pokemon lets go, really let me down. Everything is dumbed down to the absolute minimum.

Do you love Pikachu? Do you love Eevee? Well then you should consider purchasing Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu or Pokémon Let’s go Eevee But only dumb little babies would get this game! I made a mistake purchasing this game and here is why.
First of all, this game was created by Game Freak and released on November 16, 2018. But it was actually first revealed on May 30, 2018. This game was released on the Nintendo Switch.
When I first got this game I was excited because this was going to be the very first actual Pokèmon game besides the spin-offs. But I should have never put my expectations that high. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and say that the graphics look nice and seeing the first generation Pokèmon is really nice and the environment is nice and polished but they could have done better. It was nice to see nice graphics on a better console compared to the 3DS XL.
The controls on the game are very odd and throwing the Pokeball is a problem. These controls are new and very different from the originals. My biggest problems with this game are how the took out the most important concept of Pokèmon and replaced it with something way different and bad. In all the other pokemon games to catch a Pokèmon, you had to low the Pokèmon health but there were risks to this but that was the fun part of the game. But in Pokèmon Lets Go Pikachu they threw all that out the window and replaced it with something way worse. From the inspiration of the most popular game, Pokèmon go and used the throwing the Pokèball at the pokemon and using berries. But actually aiming the Pokèball and throwing it is very inconsistent. It takes way to much effort trying to throw the pokèball left or right and this got very annoying. And sometimes I have this problem where I throw the Pokèball and it would go nowhere near where I threw it.
The difficulty in this game is so easy I and it had zero challenges. I finished this game with ease and it wasn't satisfying at all. At some degree, I feel like I wasted my time. I had no trouble whatsoever in any part of the game and I never used a potion or a revive throughout my playthrough. I never died once and catching pokemon was so easy. I beat the elite four with only two pokemon. I didn't even use my other pokemon ever. There was no challenge to beat a trainer or even a gym leader because I would one hit kill every pokemon even when our levels were not that far apart. This game was made for very little kids so making the game super easy is understandable. But kids are not dumb! Kids need challenges and they need to strategize and think ahead instead of not just press one simple button to kill a Pokèmon. In the original Pokèmon yellow there wasn't any mega evolutions or alolan forms so this makes the game even easier. And what I think the worst part was how your rival isn't even your rival like in the original games. For example, Blue was a very challenging opponent and it was nice to beat your rival every time. But now they replaced Blue for is named Trace. He was very friendly and the opposite of a rival but he still was one. He would reward you with items and it was not satisfying at all to beat him.
Some of the great things Pokèmon Lets Go Pikachu has is the customization on your character and Pikachu. I had fun dressing my Pokèmon and me as team rocket and I loved putting funny little sunglasses on Pikachu and giving Pikachu a little afro. I also like the mega evolutions and alolan forms because this brought more fun to the game. One of my favorite parts in traveling with your pokemon. I enjoyed riding my Dragonite and flying through the air. It was fun to ride my Snorlax for the first time and my Onix.
In conclusion, I would rate this game a 3.5 because it was nice and short and some parts were unsatisfying. The controls were weird and the new way to catch Pokèmon was so boring and sad. For Game Freak to make this game so easy was a horrible idea. Kids are not this dumb for you to take out everything difficult about the games. There is no satisfaction and I was very disappointed after finishing this game. I think this game should be priced cheaper and not full price $60 a triple-A game. This game is not worth spending $60 so if you're thinking of buying it please don't it is not worth your time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's Go is a No Go.

Right off the bat this game baits you with nostalgia only to bash you over the head with its poor capture mechanic and awkward single joycon controls. Adding to the frustration, pokemon can run away at literally any time up to and even including when the pokeball hits. Even the Encounter pokemon can run from you too now.

Speaking of Encounter pokemon, you now have to battle them first before you can try to capture them. Plus you only have 5 minutes to beat them in. This restriction is quite unfair as now you need to over power your pokemon to finish the battle in time to get to the capture phase.

The motion controls for the capture mechanic are also inaccurate at times causing your ball to fly off to the left when you want to throw to the right. Most of the time when I wanted to throw directly in front of me, I had to move the joycon up as if I was throwing underhanded. I should mention also that while doing this, my joycon was in the joycon grip accessory alone as not using the Left joycon too felt awkward.

Next is the issue of the box your pokemon are stored in. in every mainline pokemon game, as well as Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness, your pokemon were sent into multiple boxes that could hold up to 20 in the old Gen 1 and 2 games, to 30 pokemon each in Generation 3 and up. Now you have a single box that hold up to 1000 pokemon! Game Freak expects you to be capturing tons of pokemon, but doing so makes it harder to pick out a pokemon to use, similar to picking out a marble from an ever increasing bag of marbles. Without being able to use multiple boxes, sorting pokemon becomes as easy as cleaning a kid's bedroom.

When it comes to training pokemon you're going to have to rely on that capture mechanic most of the time as the only battles you'll be facing are from either 6 specific encounter pokemon, or Trainers. This winds up giving you little personal experience in battling with little room for experimenting outside of battling the elite 4 or Green.

While hyper Training was brought back for this game, it's now rendered moot as there is now a candy system in place to also make a sugar junkie out of your pokemon as you boost their stats with more than just Rare Candies. Beware though, if you take your buffed out pokemon online, you stand running the risk of your pokemon facing a sugar crash and having their stats reverted for the online battle unless you choose the right rule set.

Also online battles and trades are pay walled by the Nintendo switch online service now.

The amount of unique pokemon you can get is also SEVERLY limited to just the first 151 pokemon, plus what might as well be considered Generation 8's first 2 pokemon, Meltan and Melmetal, as they are not usable anywhere else other than the multi-generational pokemon Go. Speaking of Pokemon Go, at the time of this writing, Pokemon Go has pokemon captureable from Generations 1 through 4, but only Bulbasaur through Mewtwo, as well as Meltan and Melmetal can be transferred into Let's Go. This means that in order to get Mew in Let's Go, you need to get the pokeball Plus while the Mew promotion is still going on.

Speaking of that device now, the Mew on it can only be redeemed once. so choose wisely what you do with it. As for how good the device is, I can not say as I do not have it.

While the Game corner does make a comeback, none of the games are playable in it despite the place being converted from a Casino into an Arcade. Instead, you can come here to pick up respawnable items. Fun. /s

The NPC's of Fushia even lie about the Safari zone now as it has been replaced with Go Park.

In past games you could get a bike you could ride to speed up, or ride Tauros in Gen 7. In Let's Go, you get to pick the pokemon you ride, from a selection. However if you get too close to a wall, your pokemon goes back into their ball leaving you on the ground.

Now all that said, I did find somethings likeable about this game. Certain interactions with your partner pokemon were enjoyable, the new Additional story elements were a plus (the additions, not the replacements), and even the part where you get to play as your partner pokemon in the rocket hideout were enjoyable, but they were not enough to save this game.

Nostalgia can only take a product so far, and that distance is even shorter when you have access to the original game, the first remake, and the port to the 3DS. Pokemon Let's go is a No Go, but because of the stuff I did enjoy, I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1.

This should have been a slam dunk. Unfortunately, Gamefreak didn't realize or care about how much changed due to the exclusion of battling wild pokemon. An example of this is how easy it is to breeze through any cave/dungeon because you only have to fight the trainers who are already a joke due to the change in difficulty.

And the change in difficulty is a real thing too, I played Pokemon Yellow to make sure my nostalgia wasn't blinding me and it was undoubtedly harder. I caught a bulbasaur in veridian forest and raised it to level 6 so it learned vine whip and then immediately destroyed Brock without a sweat. The only bit of challenge came with onyx that actually damaged me, but thanks to my so-called "rival character" giving me 5 potions when I arrived in Pewter City. At Cerulean city I then wiped out Misty with even less effort thanks to Pikachu.
Any novelty in trying out the neat gameplay and having pokemon walking around in the grass wears off within an hour and you realize your left with (so-far at least) the worst Pokemon game ever made. If you still want to buy this, i recommend waiting till its on sale for at most $15

These games are a debatable improvement over Pokemon GO. DEBATABLE!!! How is it that we can compare A FREE MOBILE GAME TO A $60 RELEASE WITH PERIPHERALS AND DLC AT EXTRA COSTS!!! These games are an insult to everyone who purchased them. The graphics are identical to Pokemon GO with none of the excuse of it being on a phone. The gameplay (if you could call it that) is directly ripped from the mobile game with the story of the Yellow being lazily glazed over it. There is nothing in this game that justifies the cost. I have to return both of these games because I have more self-respect and self-awareness to let Gamefreak take advantage of me. Anything less then demanding a full refund would be a desperate act of denial. I understand that a lot of people played GO and they enjoy this game but, you deserve so much better than GO's sloppy seconds. There is a depth to this game that is sorely missing with none of the passionate flash that enraptured kids in the 90's. I have to wait for user reviews for every pokemon game after this, Gamefreak simply has no credibility anymore putting out something so shamefully half-assed. If you need a reason justify your Switch purchase, buy Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Breath of the Wild, or Bayonetta 2. If you desperately need to play a pokemon game, play the original Yellow Version on ROM. Gamefreak doesn't deserve the money from digital sales, go pirate the game that's 20 times better from 20 years earlier. Expand

Now nothing against Junichi Masuda, but he is totally disconnected to what Pokemon was about, I'm not trying to wear rose tinted nostalgia goggles when I say this but Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are his take on Generation 1 and it shows that he doesn't even know anything that made Generation 1 such a great experience. They could of remedied this by implementing a wild battle system with the Pokemon Go catching system in place but it was either one or the other and with that all wild battles were axed. Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee could of also benefited from the designers making it less streamlined than it already was, Pokemon Red and Blue aren't the most complicated games in the world and they are very linear RPG's, making them more streamlined is more insulting rather than making it look like the developers are holding your hand through the game. There was a lot right in Let's Go like the music re compositions and seeing wild Pokemon on the over world like just like how Pokemon Ranger had them, following Pokemon are back from Heart Gold and Soul Silver but with all of these nice compliments I can give it, it fails at being something everyone can enjoy which was Masuda's intention with this title as people who are into Pokemon are going to probably shrug this game off as a babies first Pokemon game, casuals are going to find the games difficulty insultingly easy deeming it boring, and the kids who were once our age when we played Pokemon Red and Blue are going to completely ignore Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee and play there Fortnite and Minecraft. If you can look past these issues I have brought up with Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee than you'll probably enjoy it more than I did or if your a beginner who wants to get into this series may I recommend you play a vastly superior title like Heart Gold and Soul Silver and then work your way to play the other games in this franchise. these 0/10 reviews are bogus. Nintendo has been upfront since day one of the release, stating it would be a game to introduce new players (young, old, and yes Pokemon GO players) into pokemon console gaming. People don't realize that this was an EXTRA pokemon game release, we normally only get a new game every two years. we got USUM in 2017, LGPE this year and we're getting the new generation in 2019... if you don't want to buy the game then don't. Nintendo thought outside of the box with this new concept, and it's clearly paid off. so continue to complain as much as you want, but it looks like this is going to end up becoming a core series along side the new generations of pokemon games, and I will happily be first in line getting each new remake.

The joycons are not the best motion controllers ever made and in Pokemon Let's Go they're really frustrating. I'll explain. To level up in this game, battle trainers is not very effective. Encounters with wild pokemons doesn't turn in to a battle (if you didn't know it yet), is a throw a pokeball and good luck, just like the mobile game, Pokemon Go. Here is the problem, most of the Pokemons moves like crazy all over the screen, and with awful motion controllers like the joycons, is way too hard to throw the pokeball to a side of the screen (and when you want to throw it to the center of the screen, the pokeball goes to one side, it doesn't make any sense). And that's it, you NEED to master the Pokemon catch if you want to play this well, and that is very very very frustating. Of course, you can play it in portable mode and throw in pokeballs is not that hard, but I want to play Pokemon in my big TV for the first time. Great remake, bad decision to make motion controller mandatory. They screw it the entire game with that. Expand

Pokemon Let's Go is the perfect game for the new players. It has a strong nostalgic feel, and it's a fun experience when playing co-op, battling legendaries and the gym leaders and collecting Pokemon. The Pokeball plus is very cool too.
To sum it up, it's a fun Pokemon game for all. Looking forward to the Johto sequel!

What is it/The Good: For those who don't know, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and it's counterpart Pokemon Let's Go Eevee are the newest titles for the Pokemon Franchise. Setting place in the original Pokemon region known as Kanto, this game takes a classic journey into the modern day by replacing traditional wild encounters with catching Pokemon like in Pokemon Go, the popular mobile game. This region still has the eight gym leaders, elite four, champion, rival battles, and trainer battles just like the other games. Also, the OG evil team, Team Rocket, returns in this game along with the goofy trio Jessie, James, and Meowth. The game also makes the world of Kanto into a place full of life by re-adding Pokemon following your character and introduces wild roaming Pokemon on the routes in Kanto, a feature that I have seen many times in the community, and also the ability to ride certain Pokemon like Charizard and Arcanine like the Pokemon Trainer you are. Speaking of which, the game also limits the soon to be 900 Pokemon to the original 151 and Alolan Form Pokemon from the Sun and Moon games, making it easier for anyone to fill and at least fill the Kanto Dex. Catching Pokemon in this game is just like how it is in Pokemon Go. It can sometimes be tricky to throw a Pokeball in the beginning, but over time I was able to get it down no problem so it shouldn't be too hard for others to get the motion controls down. Plus, you can always put the Switch in handheld mode and move it around your area and snag that pocket monster. Along with the catching mechanics, mobile trainers can now transfer their Pokemon from Pokemon Go to either Let's Go title and train their team on the Switch. However, once a Pokemon is sent away like this, they cannot return to Pokemon Go. Another thing to mention is that the games do a very decent job with visuals/graphics, while others might not enjoy it as much, the games do look great for the most part. In other words, it's not bad to look at.

The Bad: Along with what I believe was good, it's time to look at what many people are complaining about. Along with what the games added, Game Freak also took away many different features that modern Pokemon games are known for. Features such as EV's and IV's, breeding, egg moves, and etc. to make this game more of a casual and easy to pick title than previous titles. By removing these factors, many competitive and old-school fans are upset that these games were not what they have envisioned the first RPG Pokemon game on the Switch would be like. Also while some people may not mind this, many also dislike the removal of all other Pokemon from different generations. However, to be fair the games were not made for a competitive experience and were not marketed for competitive players at all. Although I can understand why these changes do upset many fans of the franchise. Also, the price of $60 is a bit too much even for me.

Overall Thoughts: Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee are great games for casuals and beginners to pick up. There are definitely not the greatest Pokemon games and that's fine. While they are not the best for veteran and competitive players, they definitely great gifts for the holiday along with other Switch games like Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Legend of Zelda BOTW, and Splatoon 2. If you are still unsure about the games, well that's fine too. WIth the next main Pokemon titles coming in 2019, all of the removed competitive features and Pokemon from other generations will be making a come back in those games so you can wait on that. Plus, the Let's Go games might get a price drop around those times as well. Overall though, these games are great for a casual and relax experience and should be seen as just that. For more information, I would recommend looking at different Pokemon Youtubers and see what they think about the game, look at gameplay footage, and look at reviews from all angles. I hope you've enjoyed this long first review and I'll try and do more like this in the future. Also, excuse me for any major grammar mistakes I might have missed.

The argument that this game makes Pokemon more accessible is utterly and completely flawed - Pokemon games were designed for kids, and kids aren't stupid. By removing anything that might be considered challenging (safari zone, bikes, battling wild POKEMON, ect) they have found a away to make yet-another-re-make with a new and worse twist. Pokemon needs new ideas, not stripped down games that don't meet the standards of a mobile game. Expand

This is an unnecessary remake. We already have a remake, why need another on? I hate how you have to catch Pokemon like you do in Pokémon Go. Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and Gen 7 are better than this. Thus game feels lazy, to be honest.

Let's Go Pikachu Eevee, is a pleasant surprise, a game that recalls and adapts the yellow pokemon at this time, fun and very addictive, we miss the fight with wild pokemon but I love finding the pokemon interantuando with the environment, has things to improve but it is a great purchase.

I got exactly what I was expecting with a few changes here and there. The main story, collecting the badges, and facing the elite four are all typical of what I would expect of a Pokemon game, and I don't really have any complaints apart from the atrocious throwing mechanic which pretty much forces you to play hand-held if you want to be able to catch anything. If that were the only issue, this game would have a higher score from me, but, sadly, there is a GLARING problem that comes in post-game.

In all other main-name Pokemon games before this one, you have the option to fight wild pokemon in order to grind experience. This game is missing that. It might not seem that big of a deal until you get to the post-game content where EVERYTHING from Mewtwo to the Master Trainers are significantly higher level than the elite four you just defeated. Normally, that would be fine, fun even because it's an extra challenge, but not when they have effectively removed the main source of grinding levels: battling wild pokemon. Now, you are forced to chain-catch the same pokemon over and over again in order to gain experience, which also doesn't seem like a big deal, until you factor in seveal things:

1.) You have no control over which Pokemon shows up. So you could be trying to chain-catch one particular pokemon, but it might go from appearing every few seconds to never appearing at all.

2.) If the Pokemon DOES appear and it's not either Huge or Tiny, it gives very little experience when you catch it.

3.) If you don't catch the pokemon with the VERY first throw of your Pokeball, the experience you get from catching it is lowered significantly. That means, if it breaks out of the ball even once, you lose experience. And you can only get decent experience post-game by catching VERY high level pokemon, which means your chances of catching ANY of them on the first ball is slim.

4.) If you don't get either a "Great" or an "Excellent" throw, the experience you get from catching it is lowered significantly.

5.) If you get a chain going, and the pokemon you're trying to catch runs away before you can catch it, it breaks your chain and you have to start all over.

In other words, they have turned the ONLY means of getting decent experience into a chore. The only other way to gain experience post-game is by re-battling gym leaders and challenging the elitor four again, but the experience you get from those things is negligible at best. Just to put it into perspective, I wanted to raise a Dratini post-game so that I could have a better chance of defeating Mewtwo. I challenged Brock's gym to see how much experience the Dratini would get from the battle. It was level 27, and by the end of Brock's fight, the Dratini had gone up a measly ONE level. So it would take literally months of challenging gym leaders every day to get the Dratini to the level I need it to fight Mewtwo.

The game is okay if you only want to beat the main story, but they have effectively made end-game content a chore, not fun.

Let's Go is a poor entry into the franchise and I seriously hope this is a one off and that this type of game, never returns to the series.

Seeing the Kanto region dressed up the way it is in this game is it's strongest highlight, as it reignites levels of nostalgia even after 20 years and FR/LG, having your Pokémon follow you around on this platform like HG/SS is really cool to see

Seeing the Kanto region dressed up the way it is in this game is it's strongest highlight, as it reignites levels of nostalgia even after 20 years and FR/LG, having your Pokémon follow you around on this platform like HG/SS is really cool to see again, along with the way you can ride larger Pokémon like Arcanine & Onix in place of the bicycle. The only mechanic that meshes well from GO, is the way in which you interact with the wild Pokémon and visually see what you are about to run into and have a chance at catching.

But, this game is way too simplistic. It is way too easy, it revolves around Pokémon GO mechanics and strips away everything that everyone came to love the series over. No EV training, no hold items, no abilities, no daycare breeding, no wild encounter battling, trainer battles garner little XP and can practically be skipped in favour of just catching the same Pokémon over and over again as it will deliver more XP, 90% of the time, the Safari Zone has been replaced with this awful Pokémon GO complex that is useless to players who dropped GO when it died in 2016, and Mew is obtainable if you pay more money than others, and replacing supplements with candies makes it too easy to change the stats of Pokémon in your party.

    + High levels of nostalgia
    + Redesign is excellent
+ Pokémon walk with you again
+ Wild Pokémon mechanic works well
+ Pokéball Plus is cool, and should be a hit with younger audiences

    - Way too easy and simplistic
    - No EV training
    - No hold items
    - No breeding
    - No incentive to battle trainers
    - Catching Pokémon like Pokémon GO is awful
    - No Safari Zone
    - Candies replace supplements
    - Pokéball Plus lacks buttons to use alone
    - Mew is bought and not found
    - Not much in the way of post-game content

Overall, this is fine for newcomers and for trying to connect the GO playing population to the mainline series, but fans of the mainline series of games will find themselves a shell of a game that they are used to. In my eyes this is a weird hybrid project that I will be sure to avoid next time, barely passes, in my opinion.

A simple, nostalgic return to the Kanto region, offers little if you are a series veteran eager for complexity and challenge. But if that's not your main interest, Pokemon Let's Go has it all! It's a simple, cute and fun game that will keep you hooked for hours. An excellent starting point for newcomers, and a great nostalgia trip for those in a search for one.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
