I was ready for a pretty dumb game targeted at Pokemon Go! players only. But I found it really charming and not so toothless as many expected it to be. First of all - it's not that easy. It has this tutorial section where everything is simple and achieving anything is easy but it gets tougher later. Playing Pokemon for over 15 years I was happy to see many changes we always wanted to have - changing pokemon names easily, riding pokemon, taking them out of pokeball, actuall size of pokemon considered (man, is that onix huge!) and a lot of other stuff.

You wanna core game (dude, you'll have it later, okay)? Of course this one is not a core game, it's a nice remake with a little bit changed mechanics. But it works. Pleasing newcomers and veterans isn't simple. But if you really are a veteran, what's your problem with this game? It's a welcoming title for new people and a deep bow for your nostalgia.

    Anyway - I enjoy it. :)

I really do like this game; It;s nintendo trying something new with these pokemon games by making them more like pokemon go. I know that this game won't be for everyone, that was pretty much certain with the pokemon go like features, but damn this hate for something different is intense. Either way though, this game is a good game, even if it's different

While I was skeptical at first about the way wild encounters worked, it actually ended up being one the best features. Going through a cave, randomly getting attacked by 1,000,000 zubats was one of the most annoying things about older pokemon games. Now, I can pick and choose my battles, and seeing the pokemon actually moving around in the world is awesome.

The graphics in the game are amazing. Whether I was playing on the TV or handheld the pokemon looked great, and the animations for their attacks were even better.

Even the way that switching your pokemon in and out of your party is better. Instead of having to go to a computer at the pokecenter every time you want to change, instead you just open up your menu and switch whenever you want.

While the Pokemon Go catching aspect I dont truly care for, the rest of the game makes up for it, and I hope they employ some of these features in future games.

It betrayed it's core fanbase and killed my everlasting love for Pokemon forever. I have spent Tens of Thousands of dollars on Pokemon. From the games to the movies to the cards to the toys to the plushes to the DVDs to even board games and cereal. I thought nothing could crush my love for Pokemon. Nothing until this abomination was released. My rage was so infernal, I got expelled from my school. That's how salty I was. How DARE they turn my all time favorite game series with hundreds of years of lore, epic adventures, and fun for all ages into a wishy washy baby game that can be beaten by a literal toddler. This game has awful graphic while despite being on an HD console. it actually looks WORSE than Sun and Moon which were on the 3DS, a HANDHELD console which was less powerful than even the Game Cube. Heck, it might even look worse than XY and it's stunning Luminous City even though I hate that game with a passion. They censored all the interesting dark moments from Pokemon Yellow, the game which this game is clearly based off. They also shoehorned in awful, unresponsive motion controls. I have a theory that they INTENTIONALLY made the joy con motion controls awful just so they could trick people into buying the $60 pokeball+ controller which only works for let's go and nothing else. As well as that, to complete the pokedex you not only need to connect a new pokeball+ in order to activate an optional mew event, but also spend 100+ dollars on the equally awful app Pokemon GO in order to get the chance to catch the mythical Pokemon Meletan, and then pay a $10 transfer fee to transfer it to Pokemon Let's Go just so you can evolve it into Meleton, and if you want to ALSO complete the Pokemon GO pokedex, you have to pay another $10 just to transfer it back to Pokemon GO. Greed seems to be the sole thing motivating this game. The gameplay is shallow, the story is stolen from Yellow, already the worst Gen 1 game, brings up constant continuity errors, and the game being dumbed down for the non-existent child fanbase. Admit it Nintendo, you fanbase lies within the 13-30 market. All the children have moved on the trending games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft, and don't care about your games. The real fanbase lies in teenagers and young adults now, all the kids who played your kiddy games like just dance and Wii sports on the original Wii have grown up and are still trying to support you. The 12 and under croud just play Fortnite, makes slime, and watches vine complications, don't laugh challenges, bootleg kids cartoons, or Fortnite channels like SSunde, Crainer, or Ali-A. 0/10 Expand

    onto the game though:
For what it's supposed to be it's a 10/10 for me. It's a kanto remake with a long postgame! Evrery single interaction with eevee is the most wholesome thing on earth! The game is a little easy but not as easy as everyone is portraying it to be. I had some pokemon die a lot but not my whole team. the world looks absolutely beautiful, the music is amazing the pokemon scaling and them following you is what we wished for for years and now no one's even acknowledging it... why? I also love the removal of random encounters because in every pokemon game I found myself just running away from everything felling like my time is being wasted. I also surprisingly like the pokemon go catching mechanic!
A negative point is maybe the way the npcs move in cutscenes: you find them moving in one direction, turning and moving on instead of just going diagonally. And the 2 player mode really isn't as cool as it was portrayed in the trailers. it makes the game wayyyy to easy because every battle is a two on one. they could have easily made it so that trainers who have more than one pokemon would send out two at a time.
that's what makes it a 9/10 instead of a 10/10 for me because i was really hyped to play the game all the way with my pokemon loving friend that doesn't have a switch.

All in all this is an amazing experience and I'm not even remotely done with the main story!

Edit: so i played a lot more now and I gotta change it to a 10/10 because the game just got so much more difficult!! All my pokemon are underleveled even though i battled almost every trainer and caught a looot of mons! i had my whole team except one pokemon die twice and one of those times my Mew only had 10 hp left

--- very bad motion controls (Joycon)

Pokemon (Let's) Go, is basically Generation 1 pokemon + Pokemon Go combined, and generally for the most part it works pretty good, the graphics in some areas are a little lazy especially with some trainers clothing having just flat drawn on textures but this isn't the reason to play, its all about catching em all and Lets go gives the player to re-explore the Kanto region with the power of the switch, and new players to discover something new.

My biggest issue with the game is the poor motion controls, everyone has played POGO and had wild ball throws occasionally, well that happens just as much....if not worse in this game and it does get very aggravating especially during a large combo chain and you don't want to mess up losing valuable time in your hunt for shiny pokemon! But unfortunately, it isn't a matter of when it'll happen...just a matter how often it will happen and its too frequently - this is with joycon controls not to mention even some motion latency on making the gesture then a full second or longer for the game to register the gesture in-game which for a game that heavily uses motions controls isn't good and heavily lets the game down for me. The controller issue isn't a problem if you purchased the overpriced controller, which begs the question are the motion controls bad for that very reason?

Overall, Pokemon Lets go isn't a bad game, its charming fun and it has some nice touches here and there, but its not perfect and a few issues really hold it back from being better. I would honestly say, this is worth it for people like me who can't play POGO because of rural or in areas where POGO is difficult to play, this game is perfect for kids, easy to pick up and play but just remember, it isn't perfect and a few issues occasionally appear which add some frustrating elements.

It has some cute moments, and plenty of nostalgia, but standing on it’s own, it is the worst entry into the Pokemon franchise to date.

    The good:
I love how they've kept the ability to interact with your pokemon(well, at least with your evee/pikachu).
I love how they've expanded on the idea of utilising your pokemon outside of battle. Riding around on a pokemon that I have caught and trained feels much more enjoyable than having limited choices, and not being able to use the pokemon set aside for transport in battle of the likes.

    The bad:
No wild battles. Combined with the always enabled XP share, there is a severe lack of intimacy with one's pokemon, as there is very little need to train or care for anything more than the one given to you at the start.
Catching mechanics. They remove any kind of real depth to catching pokemon. All it is now is throw a piece of candy, and then throw your best pokeball(which you'll have hundreds of without ever buying any).
Your rival. He is possibly the worst part of the game. In the original first generation games, your rival was obnoxious, and was always pushing you to be your best, in the hope of beating him. Now, your rival is a pathetic coward, who does nothing but praise you at every step. He is somebody to be pitied. Not somebody to challenge yourself against.
Movesets. In every second or third city, you can find an individual who will teach your evee some stupidly powerful moves, which will ensure you never need to use any other pokemon, ever.
Difficulty, or the lack of it. Along with cutting out the need for HMs(though this was removed from S/M as well), the always enabled XP share, XP for catching pokemon being more than XP gained from battles a lot of the time, "story puzzles" being solved by NPCs for you, free revives and other items being handed to you all the time, and the powerful moves given to your starter, the game seriously lacks any kind of difficulty, or depth.

After putting some hours into this game its clear to see exactly what and who this game is meant for. While other games in the last have focused on battling and progression this series is meant to focus on the aspect of collecting. As for the audience, I expect most people to either be new to the series or veterans playing to enjoy a causal experience while strolling through a region that may have impacted their childhood. Also being able to play Pokémon on the TV is a big plus. Overall, if you don't think the game is for you then you're probably right but that doesn't mean it not for everyone. However, this is not the case and instead people are not only asked to pay full price of 60$ for a game that clearly comes from a handheld, but even worse, for a game that is in no way a definitive version of the first generation Pokemon games. The first remake, FireRed/LeafGreen, had much more content available for a lower price (and a free dongle to trade wirelessly and play minigames) but even the original Red/Blue/Yellow is giving Let's Go run for its money when it comes to the value provided. Add to that performance issues like unstable framerate or unrefined motion controls, and it's very hard to justify the price tag to anyone who either respects his/hers money or the series itself.
While I don't condemn changes made to the game's formula in Let's Go, there being no way to adjust gameplay according to one's preferences, like turning back on wild Pokemon battles, turning off exp. share or simply allowing the players to use the ProController, builds an image of an unfinished product, which stands out in a bad way among (mostly) great games so far released by Nintendo on Switch.

"Let's Go" lacks content and originality. They've taken the "GO" mechanics from mobile app which was intended to play for a couple minutes or even less and implemented this on a console that is being played for much longer, in short this felt very forced.

They've taken out the Safari Zone, Pokemon battles, and difficulty. This is the most expensive to date and has the least content

It’s not perfect, but it’s still good. Taking a step back sometimes is a good thing, you can’t go into a game with the “I-expect-everything-to-be-brand-new-or-else-I-hate-it” philosophy. A wonderful return to Kanto. The new systems are fun and refreshing. Though I am disappointed they left out some of the systems present on other mainline games, it has been an overwhelmingly positive experience.

Pokémon Let's GO , Eevee, also know as Pokémon GO for Switch, represents the future that Game Freak wants to take the franchise and its commitment destroying the fanbase that supported Pokémon for more than 20 years in favor of Pokémon GO players. The biggest mistake of this game is the simple fact that it exists. Pure garbage.

Why is there still no options to setup the difficulty as I like it? They could for example have listened to the Pokemon fanbase and build in options for Nuzlock runs where one even could configure the details of it. Instead we get a boiled down version that is even more basic than the original Pokemon Yellow. This was a waste of money. Expand

What a joke! this, must be the one of the worsts game ever released for switch. Charging full price for this game is an insult to switch owners. It is very repetitive and boring. You keep doing the same things over and over and over again, Most of the time you feel like game plays itself. It might be fun for kinds under 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's Go is a No Go.

Right off the bat this game baits you with nostalgia only to bash you over the head with its poor capture mechanic and awkward single joycon controls. Adding to the frustration, pokemon can run away at literally any time up to and even including when the pokeball hits. Even the Encounter pokemon can run from you too now.

Speaking of Encounter pokemon, you now have to battle them first before you can try to capture them. Plus you only have 5 minutes to beat them in. This restriction is quite unfair as now you need to over power your pokemon to finish the battle in time to get to the capture phase.

The motion controls for the capture mechanic are also inaccurate at times causing your ball to fly off to the left when you want to throw to the right. Most of the time when I wanted to throw directly in front of me, I had to move the joycon up as if I was throwing underhanded. I should mention also that while doing this, my joycon was in the joycon grip accessory alone as not using the Left joycon too felt awkward.

Next is the issue of the box your pokemon are stored in. in every mainline pokemon game, as well as Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness, your pokemon were sent into multiple boxes that could hold up to 20 in the old Gen 1 and 2 games, to 30 pokemon each in Generation 3 and up. Now you have a single box that hold up to 1000 pokemon! Game Freak expects you to be capturing tons of pokemon, but doing so makes it harder to pick out a pokemon to use, similar to picking out a marble from an ever increasing bag of marbles. Without being able to use multiple boxes, sorting pokemon becomes as easy as cleaning a kid's bedroom.

When it comes to training pokemon you're going to have to rely on that capture mechanic most of the time as the only battles you'll be facing are from either 6 specific encounter pokemon, or Trainers. This winds up giving you little personal experience in battling with little room for experimenting outside of battling the elite 4 or Green.

While hyper Training was brought back for this game, it's now rendered moot as there is now a candy system in place to also make a sugar junkie out of your pokemon as you boost their stats with more than just Rare Candies. Beware though, if you take your buffed out pokemon online, you stand running the risk of your pokemon facing a sugar crash and having their stats reverted for the online battle unless you choose the right rule set.

Also online battles and trades are pay walled by the Nintendo switch online service now.

The amount of unique pokemon you can get is also SEVERLY limited to just the first 151 pokemon, plus what might as well be considered Generation 8's first 2 pokemon, Meltan and Melmetal, as they are not usable anywhere else other than the multi-generational pokemon Go. Speaking of Pokemon Go, at the time of this writing, Pokemon Go has pokemon captureable from Generations 1 through 4, but only Bulbasaur through Mewtwo, as well as Meltan and Melmetal can be transferred into Let's Go. This means that in order to get Mew in Let's Go, you need to get the pokeball Plus while the Mew promotion is still going on.

Speaking of that device now, the Mew on it can only be redeemed once. so choose wisely what you do with it. As for how good the device is, I can not say as I do not have it.

While the Game corner does make a comeback, none of the games are playable in it despite the place being converted from a Casino into an Arcade. Instead, you can come here to pick up respawnable items. Fun. /s

The NPC's of Fushia even lie about the Safari zone now as it has been replaced with Go Park.

In past games you could get a bike you could ride to speed up, or ride Tauros in Gen 7. In Let's Go, you get to pick the pokemon you ride, from a selection. However if you get too close to a wall, your pokemon goes back into their ball leaving you on the ground.

Now all that said, I did find somethings likeable about this game. Certain interactions with your partner pokemon were enjoyable, the new Additional story elements were a plus (the additions, not the replacements), and even the part where you get to play as your partner pokemon in the rocket hideout were enjoyable, but they were not enough to save this game.

Nostalgia can only take a product so far, and that distance is even shorter when you have access to the original game, the first remake, and the port to the 3DS. Pokemon Let's go is a No Go, but because of the stuff I did enjoy, I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1.

When catching Pokémon, It's not like the originals. It retarded, everybody knows that you first have to battle a Pokémon to make it easier to catch, but in Let's Go you can only throw balls at them, which we all know from the anime is not effective.. I would like an option to turn this Pokémon Go feature off...

I've been enjoying everything about this game except for one thing: catching Pokemon. It doesn't matter whether I'm using the motion controls while it's docked (the motion controls for which are horribly imprecise) or moving it around in handheld mode. Catching Pokemon is the single most tedious thing in the entire game. When the whole reason your franchise is popular becomes the most tedious and frustrating thing about it, that's a problem, and that's why my review is so low. The one thing that was the immediate impetus for my writing this review is I had a 9-catch-chain on Weepinbell and the next one bolted after only 2 throws. That tells me random chance is far more of a factor than it should be. It's really sad, because this is otherwise a pretty good game. I'd been hoping that transferring Pokemon from Pokemon GO would allow me to forgo the tedium of catching them in-game, but, alas, you even have to catch the ones you transfer. Catching Pokemon is the whole point of the franchise, and, in Let's Go Eevee, it's not even enjoyable. Expand

Let's go Eevee and Pikachu are good games. They achieve what they set out to do which is be an entry point for those who played Pokémon. However while the game looks pleasing in both TV and Handheld mode the removal of many features that make Pokémon great leaves slot of wishes for the upcoming Pokémon games on 2019.

One saw spot for me is the lack of Pokémon. While the 1st gen is cool I have caught way to many rattatas and pidgeys in other games such as XY and Sun and Moon. There are over 700+ missing for a bit of nostalgia.

The new catching mechanic is fun at first but after Vermilion City begins to feel stale. I prefer the weaken then catch as there was always the chance it could back fire. Also catching shinys is no longer fun as you know once you have found a shiny Mewtwo you are guaranteed a catch.

In this post, I'll leave my closing words on the review, giving my final view on the game, however I recommend reading the full review so you can get a much clearer idea of where it all comes from.

"Let's Go is... A pretty disappointing entry in the franchise, especially compared to the other main games. Players who never touched the franchise, or haven't in a long time might enjoy it, but players who have played the other games a lot will likely be disappointed by how lacking it is. There were a few moments where I enjoyed it, like how open Kanto was in comparison to the previous versions, the following Pokémon, and even shiny chaining, but that's all minor compared to the frustrating catch system, the lack of difficulty, and the stripped features such as wild battles, Abilities, Held Items, and so many moves. Only having the original 151 Pokémon (and Meltan and Melmetal) also made it much less enjoyable. Even if Kanto might not have many post-Gen 1 Pokémon in the wild, not being able to transfer many of my post-Gen 1 Pokémon from Go was really disappointing.

It's not a bad game, in and of itself, but we're facing the same situation as we did when Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity showed itself: It's not a bad game, it's a bad Pokémon game, and I do dare say it's the worst Pokémon game I have ever played. I've played every main game at least twice, but with Let's Go, I struggled to find myself willing to finish it, especially when Smash came out. But alas I did, and I doubt I'll play it a second time.

This game isn't perfect but is really good. It's essentially a modern console remake of red/blue/yellow with the battle system of Pokemon Go for wild encounters. Instead of battling them to low health and throwing poke-balls at them you just throw poke-balls at them based on timing. If it weren't for not being able to battle wild pokemon I would rate a 10.

I mostly enjoyed playing it in handheld mode because the pokemon catching was a struggle for me - the aiming and timing to throw the ball was a total headache with TV mode and one joy-con.

The game was too easy to keep the interest bar high for more than half the game. Kinda made me rush to the end cause I know I will have no problem beating the boss battles, even though I tried to take it slow and complete most of the side-stuff. Younger audience will get more out of this game, or maybe a parent who wants to play something with their kid.

I hate how this game relies on the gimmicky mechanics of Pokemon Go, which I strongly dislike. Training pokemon is much harder and leaves a lot of clutter in the PC full of pokemon as your heavily reliant on catching pokemon to gain exp. points. God help you if you screw up with catching pokemon as you will earn less exp. for catching that one pokemon for the third to the fourth time. That also means you have to waste a lot of money on a lot of pokeballs that could have been spent on other things important for battles.

There is also that small problem where the player character can't decide whether to run or walk. I constantly have my joystick in the right direction and somehow the controls jerk between walking and running that slows me down, and I find that really annoying.

Needless to say, this is definitely the worst Pokemon game I've ever played. Never have I would ever say that a Pokemon game is bad, because I've been a lifelong fan of the series, but the fact that this is just a Pokemon Go game on a console made me question Gamefreaks experimentation and reliance on a single mobile game. Thank goodness they did not follow this trend on Sword and Shield otherwise I would have stopped anticipating new Pokemon games in the future. Sure Sword and Shield dumbed down the difficulty and cut most of the Pokedex, and X and Y lacked in good storytelling, but at least I can play those games without being frustrated with how to train your Pokemon. This was a bad experience.

The lets go games scratch that itch and tide me over between the more standard titles.

And here I am, some 20 something years later, playing THE EXACT SAME GAME, with a vernish cover, ok, but essentially the exact same thing. I just can't... How does the Nintendo main players can take this? It feels like Fifa or Madden. You put some new face here and there in the roster and it's good to go? wtf
Nothing is fun. nothing is new, there's zero appeal. This bs turn battles are old af, really, I don't know how can gamers put up with that for so long.

My rating is not zero for a very few things alone:

    - 2 points for pure nostalgia - I just love this 150+ characters, I grew up with them (even tho anything else seemed to mature in pokemon at all) it feels home, in a way
    - half a point for riding some of the pokemons (actually I feel like this part is more about the nostalgia too, because that's the dream of almost every single 90s' kid (and if I really think about it, it's half baked af, and stupid in a lot of ways. Just, PLEASE, allow the player to hop on or off the "ride" pokemon with a single button, not like 5 entries in 3 different menus)
    - the other half point for me is the cute graphics. But Again I feel a little fooled. It is pretty and cute, yes, but god, it's 2020. It is a 24yo multibilionaire franchise. So, what, you didn't have enough time or enough money to freaking program really good and unique animations? Especially in this game, in particular, considering it only has the first generation of monsters.

I know some of the "Nintenders" would hate me to say something like "we want a reall open world Pokemon game", but come on, don't we? Really, didn't you expect that by 2020 we would have something like Breath of the Wild in pokemon? imagine you freaking ACTUALLY FLYING in a charizard through a diverse open world, having to take care of your charizard buddy ride, or swapping it for another ride, because you just enter a cold snowy segment of the map, while you go after that rare artinuco. Imagine all that instead of going inside the same plot hole 'cave' in wich a legendary BIRD pokemon decided to built it's nest???? wtf, dude.
Or, okay, that seem too much? That seems like a Red Dead Pokédemption? Alright, so what about something entirely new? Forget about the little kid who's ten and is starting is poke journey and all that crap. Thing about a new plot. Something entirely new. Idk, something like the movie Detective Pikachu did; just hire some good writters and ask for new ideas.

I know pokemon is still a children targeted franchise (wich i kind think it's a mistake. seeing that half the playerbase are those 90s' kids, who are entering their thirties or worst, right now, and are still hooked with the idea) but can't Nintendo create a new timeline in games? You don't have to stop making this 'ever-the-same', they probably dont even have to invest all that much now, if all the animations and techniques are the same used decades ago. Just keep releasing this same formula games ad infinitum, but gosh, please try something new.

If you haven't ever picked up a Pokemon game or have maybe tried out the Pokemon Go experience than this would be the game for you.
Veterans would have to wait fo Sword and Shield to come out and take a bite out of it.

The game is great on many levels- visuals, animation, music, pokemon's looks amazing on the TV.
Probably the biggest nerf in the game compared to any other Pokemon game out there is the fact that you do not battle the wild pokemon's you encounter in the wild- you simply catch them. And that for me was the biggest minus because it takes away from the "fun grinding" that is Pokemon. You have to fight to catch them.

Beyond that the story of Let's go plays out much like it's original with a few changes to make it easier for the new players.

The battles in the game are actually quite great and exciting and they look amazing as well. One thing that I found to be made easier but to no purpose was the fact that most of the people you battle along the roads have only one (maximum 2) pokemon's, witch makes the battle seem a bit easy.
The Gym leaders and their followers do add a bit of extra challenge to the mix and the Elite Four are quite the treat and a true test of the skills you have acquired along the way.

All in all this might not be a game for the fans of the franchise, but newcomers will find it the best introduction to the series yet.

I am by no means an expert in Pokemon but I mindlessly won every single battle without any difficulty. I wouldn't even mind if the combat were easy, if it were fun, but it isn't, even for a turn based game combat is as basic as ever. Battle animations are very simplistic, repetitive and boring/ Gameplay outside of combat is also very basic, there are very few puzzles and really nothing meaningful to do outside of battles. The story and dialogue are simple and generic. I honestly cannot understand how critics can justify giving this game such a high score. The game isn't terrible, its functional but it is so simplistic and really isn't exceptional in any category. It is below average. If this wasn't a pokemon game, I don't think anyone would care about it. Its actually sad to me that a game like this is selling so well when so many better games get overlooked. It’s not a remake, but it doesn’t include evolution or pre evolutions of Kanto Pokémon. No night time.
    No online features, like GTS.
Really annoying the way to catch Pokémon.

I gave this game a chance but catching lacks satisfaction. The worst part is the catching controls. They are bad in docked the pokeballs go all over the place and are very difficult to control and are very not intuitive. The docked controls for the pokeball throwing work fantastic which is sad because the handheld controls are so much more accurate and better. also for people with bigger hands like me using one joycon is very uncomfortable to control everything and feels very janky. The game is very short but i went for an all shiny team which artificially lengthened the game. besides mewtwo's cave and gym rematches/ elite four rematches. there are three bonus trainers and the master trainers but the master trainers aren't even real content they are just padding. I only played handheld because it was just so much better. docked was not fun at all. even the battles were not hard. the eevee they give you in the beginning has perfect IVs and its easy to use it to demolish everything. versing misty give it an electric move, erica a fire type exclusive move. eevee literally makes this game a joke. This is not a good pokemon game. Then there are the gyms and their requirements i loathe these they are just ways to artificially stop you from doing the gym and forces you to do something else besides moving forward. If i don't want pokemon in the beginning of the game why are you forcing me to catch one. This game hampers you in the worst of ways. Also when losing a shiny it doesn't feel like my mistake which is the worst when losing out on catching a pokemon it should be my failure not that the game determines your not going to catch it. I never felt in control when trying to catch a shiny and that was the worst part.

there is some good in this game. The shinys appear in the wild like any other pokemon and are visible and you don't need to run into them to find out if they are actually shiny. they appear shiny like any other pokemon. and the customization options are pretty nice for you and eevee.

Overall this is a bad pokemon game. I honestly think they should have spent more resources on gen 8 rather than this. These are just not fun and that's the worst part. literally i beat the game on auto pilot from saffron to the pokemon league. the game is just that boring that i barely paid attention. The rival is extremely boring, team rocket is the same as usual, and they made this bare bones. I rather them skip a year than make something like this again because this was a terrible experience. I love pokemon but this was not fun for a pokemon game and that's saying something. It was tolerable when in handheld at best and at worst docked was unplayable because catching with the joycon SUCKS. I hope they don't make a sequel to this terrible game.

After finishing the game, I've come to the conclusion that Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee are both fine games but don't do enough to consider them great. However, that isn't saying its bad its just that there really isn't anything crazy or cool in here. Far from the worst game with the pokemon name on it.

    I. loved. these. games. LGPE is a wonderfully nostalgic, heartwarming remake of my favorite pokemon generation. I was hesitant at first that ending wild pokemon battles would compromise the game's playability, but I actually ended up liking the new mechanic, a lot more than wild battles. they could make it a little more complex, but I do like the catching mechanic. I wont deny that LGPE are easy, but they are also FUN. The only thing I would like to see improved is post-game content. there's completing the pokedex, shiny pokemon hunting and the master trainers which are all great, but I would have liked to see the Sevii islands like in Fire Red and Leaf Green.

these 0/10 reviews are bogus. Nintendo has been upfront since day one of the release, stating it would be a game to introduce new players (young, old, and yes Pokemon GO players) into pokemon console gaming. People don't realize that this was an EXTRA pokemon game release, we normally only get a new game every two years. we got USUM in 2017, LGPE this year and we're getting the new generation in 2019... if you don't want to buy the game then don't. Nintendo thought outside of the box with this new concept, and it's clearly paid off. so continue to complain as much as you want, but it looks like this is going to end up becoming a core series along side the new generations of pokemon games, and I will happily be first in line getting each new remake.

However, it looks stunning, it isn't glitchy, it has many different outfits which is always nice. My personal score is a 6 or 7 out of ten, depending on the day, but I do believe that you SHOULD play this game if you are a fan of the fantastic series we call Pokemon, also, don't listen to the people saying that this game is bad, it is a stunning game and if you asked me to 100% this before generations 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 (Not Gen 5 because that is my personal favourite), I would probably say yes to that. it is a highly recommended game on the Nintendo Switch.
But Nintendo, if you're for some reason reading this, I would really like to see a blend of the old catching mechanic and the new one, where you can fight it first with the old Pokemon mechanics, then you can attempt to catch it with the Pokemon GO mechanics or faint it.

This is essentially a retelling of the first pokemon game ever created, but with simplified features from the Pokemon Go mobile game. I think it was an excellent introduction back into the series, as it largely had aspects of a full-fledged pokemon game but with simplified mechanics and progression. These were refreshing when compared to the stressful, convoluted mechanics behind most pokemon games, that normally caused me to abandon them when I played before.

I absolutely loved my time here. Catching all of the pokemon was very fun and while I missed battling being a primary focus of the game, I appreciated that the new catching mechanics made accomplishing goals more streamlined, like getting high IV pokemon. This was vastly superior to the traditional, obsessive breeding chains that most other pokemon games have. Additionally, catching was more skill based than before, with motion controls for throwing the pokeball and having to track the movements of the pokemon to catch them. Overall, it made catching, one of the less-focused aspects of pokemon (perhaps ironically), a major, fun draw of the game.

What this meant for me was that, for the first time in series history, I was able to accomplish my goals in the game. I completed the pokedex, I created a high-IV team of my own and leveled them to 100, I was able to complete all the post-game content I wanted to thanks to this team, and I was able to acquire all the post-game items. This is the first time I felt those goals were reachable, instead of being behind a long and torturous game mechanics wall. The game was straightforward to play, something I appreciate in my modern life, and all of these new aspects meant the game was fun instead of tedious. The risk/reward system behind trying to keep a chain of catches going was crazy exciting to me and I sometimes found myself performing them just for the fun of it. I am so glad that I got back into one of my favorite genres of games and am very much looking forward to other pokemon games releasing in the future.

Solo he jugado y completado por salirme gratis.

It is a remake of the original Pokemon game, Pokemon Yellow. It was released in 2018. The original Pokemon Kanto games are almost sacrosanct to me. I do not want people to mess with it, change it or interfere with it any any way. The FireRed / LeafGreen remakes released almost twenty years ago for the Gameboy Advance were absolutely fantastic, I regard them as possibly the best Pokemon games in history. This time the developers got carried away a little bit. But lets start with the positives. The graphics. The new Nintendo Switch graphics look really amazing, for me probably the greatest technological step between two systems in the history of Pokemon games. The graphics of this game is also done very well, it sticks to the original shapes and colors that we all know and love. The Pokemon textures and animations are done to a lot of details and are really pretty. The music is also great, atmospheric and nostalgic. The story is kept mostly intact, with some changes (your rival, Team Rocket). But big changes come to the gameplay. The fact that the Pokemon are just running around in the Routes is actually not a bad idea, it brings a lot of life, it takes some RNG of the game. I would prefer the original system, but I can live with it. The system of catching Pokemon, which is a modified version of the Pokemon Go system is just plain wrong, I do not know what more can I say, It just does not work for me in this type of game at all. On top of that, Battling trainers no longer gives you that much Exp, so you will have to rely on catching Pokemon to level up. Other changes has been done to the way Pokemon are stored, there is no longer a PC for you to use in every Poke Center. Instead you can access your stored Pokemon at any point outside of a Pokemon battle. That is quite a big nerf, especially in the Pokemon League, where you can tailor your party for every member of the Elite Four. Also not a very good idea. And finally we have your Poke Partner, Eevee (or Pikachu in Let's Go: Pikachu!). I believe this has a lot of potential, there could be some mechanics that would make you take care of your Partner Pokemon and grow the bond between you. But in the end there is not much for your Eevee to do, except ride on your hat and waggle its tail when you are near a hidden item. Also you cannot evolve it, so for it to stay effective in combat, they just created 9 new ridiculously overpowered moves and you get them for free, just like that, quite early on in the game. That is just incompetence. Minor Microtransaction (Pokeball plus) and luckily No SJW. Thank you for that at least. I played on PC using the Yuzu emulator.

I was really looking forward to going through all these well known routes and towns after all these years, but it just somehow does not feel the same. Because it is not the same, I suspect. Next time, please make it the same as it used to be. Final Verdict: 72 %

Very casual games, but with pokemon, that's not a problem for me at all. The graphics are kinda nice, the music is outstanding and they absolutely nailed ride and following pokemon (and then forgot how to do it in SwSh and BDSP), wich shouldn't mean so much to me, but it does. It also really nicely remixes the original encounter tables and introduces overworld pokemon to the series!

Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee is a passable video game experience. It certaintly isn't good, but it's not bad, per say. The Let's Go games are remakes of the classic Pokemon Yellow which has you follow the path of the anime storyline. Let's Go takes the Pokemon formula and somehow manages to devolve it and turn it into something that is just strictly worse. Let's Go doesn't allow you to battle wild Pokemon and most trainers don't even challenge you - the only way you can really battle is in gyms. The whole point of the franchise is to battle and they take that away from you in this installment. Instred of Pokemon battles to level up your Pokemon, you level up your Pokemon by throwing Pokeballs and catching them. The main draw of this game is how you catch Pokemon - you time your throws and swing the joycon to throw it. The gimmick it fun, but was obviously inspired by Pokemon Go's success and is certainly not an adequete replacement for actual Pokemon battles. Wild encounters were also replaced in this entry with Pokemon that are all visable. I like this as wild encounters always bothered me but many people feel differently. Adding Pokemon that you can see walking around in the wild certainly adds to the immersion, but to make everyone happy, a blend of the two would be ideal. This game is fine for your kids and is an ok time waster but isn't really a Pokemon game, let alone a good one. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Worst Pokemon game yet, very repetitive. The atmosphere in this game lacks badly. Every city looks the same. The only interesting part about this game were the gyms, because they were refreshing. Also, this game was way too easy to keep me satisfied. This game seems rushed and a quick grab for cash. Expand

A remake of the blue / red / yellow pokemon saga without further ado, very faithful to the originals. GameFreak needs to evolve in the technical and artistic section. We are in 2019 and it seems that it is not a nintendo game with these GameCube graphics. As it is a remake after all, what less than adding voices to the main characters, which they have not done. I do not recommend it.

Interesting idea, lousy execution. Pokemon Let's Go becomes very sickening, with a very cliche story. The first generation has become something very repetitive, and this game has innovated nothing in the series.

    Pikachu and Eve are cute.
I think it is more fun than Pokemon sod shield.
If you do it at first, you might be a little embarrassed because you catch Pokemon without a battle, but it's fun in its own way.

Catching is fun and trading is fun. It's Pokemon but you can't kill wild Pokemon- However there is one thing that made me (kind of) hate this game. THE RIVAL! WHY DID THEY CHANGE IT FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

At the very beginning of the game, I was having a bit of fun with it, although I disliked the catching system, and I really disliked the TV mode (due to the poorly implemented, forced motion controls during catching). There really should have been an option to turn off motion controls entirely. The lack of accessibility options and control options is disappointing.

After playing for a little while, the game quickly became extremely tedious and boring, as the battles are so easy that they require literally no thought, just repeatedly pressing A to win the battle. Pokemon games were always easy games for kids, but at least in the past you had to make choices on occasion, like item management (buying and using potions and revives, etc).

The marketing was misleading - the synopsis says "deep enough to keep veteran Trainers on their toes", but I don't agree with that at all. (Speaking as someone who has played the games since crystal, though I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore player by any means.) The addition of multiple difficulty options would have really improved the game in this respect.

The almost complete lack of a post-game was also pretty disappointing.

Overall, I did have a blast playing Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee. I did like visiting all the cities of the original Pokémon games again and seeing all the original Pokémon. However, I really did not like how they changed how you capture Pokémon and I did not like the setup of the Pokémon boxes. For those who want to play this game for nostalgia reasons, I would recommend waiting until a sale comes out before purchasing. For newcomers to Pokémon, this is a really good introduction into the world of Kanto.

It’s hard to make sense of the game that’s basically a Switch port of iOS/Android remake of Pokemon Red/Green. Is it a step forward, step backward – or maybe just a shameless cash-in? Turns out, it’s a great remake – the world looks exactly as we imagined it back when we were staring at black and white pixels of original Red/Green. [Issue#235, p.44]
