    On the road, rescue survivors and choose whether to use them as traveling companions or to improve the Doctor's farm and gain access to new abilities. How your farm progresses depends upon where you assign survivors to work.

    Some survivor types are more valuable in certain jobs, but may be more useful still if kept available for expeditions. Surviving the road will rely on your ability to fight horrors created by the plague, in combat encounters featuring grid-based positioning and turn-based strategy mechanics.

    For a game made by such a small team, Plague Road drips with genuine quality. Mechanically, it’s a tight, efficient roguelike that gets the core gameplay loop down perfectly, which means that it can be very hard to put down. Some misfires in how the game is themed and presentation let it down, however. It’s not quite as cohesive as I wanted it to be, and while the art style is tantalising, the game ultimately fails to build the lore and fiction that it needed to give it the depth it needed to be something truly special.

    Plague Road is a valiant attempt at combining divergent concepts into a cohesive and interesting package. But as interesting as it may be to make the first roguelike base-building strategy RPG, it’s missing a layer of depth to drive it beyond curiosity into the realm of compulsory design. There’s plenty to like here, and if you’re in the mood for a morose adventure down a bleak path to a ruined world this may be for you. If you’re just looking to casually save the world from an outbreak, however, you may want to think carefully.

    Well, the game is... competent. It does not fall apart, it is not extremely bad, it is just plainly primitive and boring. The process of "goWell, the game is... competent. The process of "go to the wild, grab as many survivors as you can, trade them for upgrades" soon gets extremely monotonous. The game simply does not give you a single reason to feel anything: characters are treated as exp pots, combat is totally unrewarding and for a first couple of hours is simple "root melee/freeze distant ones, slowly kill, repeat".
    Visually and mechanically it is similar to Darkest Dungeon, but without all elements which made it a good game: no risk/reward decisions, no character development or individuality, no pressure. Just farming with few obstacles.
    The game had really lots of potential with stunning visuals, quite promising intro, and fine combat mechanics, but it all drowns in boredom, routine and senselessness. No reason to think, no reason to care, no reason to play.    … Expand

    Interesting idea and seemingly a lot of effort put in and content for the price in this Jim Sterling narrated RPG, but the game sorely lacks in fun though and quickly becomes a trawl. The fun of exploration is hindered by a barrage of slow battles, and the game itself is clunky and uninviting. Unless this sort of game specifically appeals to you, avoid    … Expand

    Y ya esta, el sistema de combate es bastante ortopédico, especialmente cuando avanzas por las fases. No hay ninguna motivación de mejora, no hay jefes ni nada que suponga un obstáculo real. Lo mejor que puedes hacer es correr intentando evitar. las batallas y llegar al final del juego, aunque eso tampoco será fácil porque el movimiento por las fases es bastante horrendo también.
    Francamente, una decepción de principio a fin y uno de los peores juegos que he probado en mi vida, y suficiente para aprenderme el nombre de la compañia "Arcade Distillery", para no comprar nunca más un juego suyo, ya que una compañía con tan poco criterio de calidad para vender algo como esto dice mucho acerca de su profesionalidad    … Expand
