The differences to the 3DS release of the trilogy are minimal, but I've had a blast playing this regardless. It remains a great visual novel experience. This version gives access to 10 save slots, which is convenient.

I love the Ace Attorney series. Solving mysteries in a courtroom setting is a genius idea for a game in my opinion. The characters are charming and the stories are intriguing and keep me on the edge of my seat. The games really test my intelligence with the mysteries. Not sure why the reviews need something new to fit their fancy. This is a great port of a timeless classic, with redefined graphics and responsive controls. Currently the best way to play the game.

Amazing trilogy. It may be a visual novel but these may be the best games Capcom has ever produced. Certainly the best story.

It's also quite impressive how they managed to make the emotional parts hit so hard without pulling any punches on the satire. Right down to the eccentric characters with puns for names. And of course the unforgettable soundtrack that absolutely makes this

And of course the unforgettable soundtrack that absolutely makes this game. You didn't play this game if you didn't play it with the volume on.

This version of the game also updates the 2D character models but went super faithful with it instead of taking modern creative liberties. A rare treat these days.

I love the first trilogy, but please Capcom, do the same with Ghost Trick and bring Gyakuten Kenji 2 (Ace Attorney Investigations 2) - the best game you ever did - to the west.

This game is a masterpiece, that's all I have to say. I played it over a year, bit my bit...like enjoying a fine glass of wine...it was so worth it. An incredible game, an absolute top all time favourite of mine. I'm happy that I saw it through to the end....and I'm sad that it's over...but it was a great ride. Thank you!

Un gran juego, pero incomprensible que no este en español (dado que los anteriores si lo estaban) y en un juego con tanto texto se pierde mucho.

I put 50 hours into this collection, and i enjoyed most of it. there are some situations were you might get stuck because you forgot to ask someone something irrelevant, and that can be quite annoying. still very enjoyable. the anime was better

Some cases are anti-climactic, and some are very silly, but it is a fantastic visual novel series that even though some are stupid, you want to know who the culprit is, and you really want Phoenix Wright to win at the court all the time.

This game has deep lore, Although it's basically reused games, it is REVAMPED I tell ya, and no it's not Lotta making this review. I finished 2 games (out of 3) in 2 weeks just because how addicting and awesome this is. This is my first time playing PWAA games and it's great. Not great for people who don't like murder cases, mention of blood & etc, but I like it. It's great, solid 10 outta 10.

First off, I want to start by saying that the Ace Attorney games are not for everyone. If you are not a fan of visual novels, this probably isn't the collection for you. However, if you enjoy heavy story based games, point and click type games or puzzle solving games, you'll probably really enjoy the ace attorney games.

However, if you enjoy heavy story based games, point and click type games or puzzle solving games, you'll probably really enjoy the ace attorney games.

These games are graphically beautiful with fantastic music. I want to get special props to the music in the first game, which was so good that I almost had trouble getting through the second game because it didn't have the music from the first. I didn't notice any issues with frame rate or performance however this isn't exactly the type of game where that sort of thing would matter anyway.

The story is what really matters here and while each game has it's own overall story, there's also a bit of an over arcing story between the three games that really shows the evolution of the characters over all. The characters are the other thing that really matters here. Someone deserves an award for the design of these characters. There's a lot of wacky personalities most of which are quite lovable. The game is really good at making you hate the bad guys, love the good guys and feel bad for the victims. There's also a few different redemption type arcs through out the games that work REALLY well.

I can not recommend this collection enough to anyone who is a fan of visual novel type games and it honestly feels perfect for the Switch specifically. This collection is semi regularly on sale though, so I wouldn't buy it at full price and would instead wait for the next big event to cause it to go on sale.

The mysteries of these games are top-notch, and often times had me confused, and scrambling to figure out what was going on, because they were genuinely interesting. The explanations were often wild and off-the-wall, but still made sense, and I didn't feel like there were a ton of loose ends at the end of each case. The ensemble of characters is also amazing in this game, from the main characters, down to each of the witnesses. They all have distinct personalities, and help to bring the courtroom drama to life. The soundtrack is also great, though if you're on a court sequence for a long time, it can get a little grating. Overall, this trilogy is truly amazing, and I hope more people experience it now that it's on the switch. Expand

This review is mainly about the HD-update and not the three games as such. If you don't mind the slow pace and outdated presentation it's a joy to play the three Phoenix Wright adventures.

When it comes to the HD-update however there's not a lot that has been changed. Graphics are of course updated to present the games in a higher resolution and dialogues have been tweaked here and there. Now you can save the game at anytime and that's pretty much it. Not a lot of updates for a series that's almost twenty years old. Commuting between locations is as dull as ever and there are no shortcuts.

Maybe the biggest con for the Switch version is that it's the same, generic version as for any other system, meaning that touch controls are not supported. These games were a smash hit on the DS because this is a game that is practically begging for touch controls. For the Switch version however you're still bound to the button controls as with any other version. Regarding usability the DS-games are still the definitive versions and Phoenix Wright is all about usability as they are basically point-and-click adventures.

Even if the Switch version doesn't support touch controls the handheld mode is still the preferable way to play this game. The slow action doesn't translate that well to a large screen, but is ideal when you have the Switch in front of you. When you consider the Phoenix Wright trilogy as portable games there's definitely still a lot of fun to be had, despite the flatout rejection of Capcom the update the presentation and the missing touch controls.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is perfectly at home on Nintendo Switch, its gameplay fun and engaging for players both new and old. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy brings three excellent classics from Capcom to the Switch and the games are highly recommended to those that have yet to play the series. The port itself could bring some improvements, therefore, long time fans might only be interested in this due to the convenience of replaying those classics in a modern platform.
