Pang Adventures takes the fun bubble popping gameplay of the classic arcade game and takes into a whole new realm. With a story mode, boss battles, new mechanics and bubble types, and some fun modes to add to its replayability this blast-from-the-past title shows off how a classic which has stood the test of time can still be further improved to appease the gamer of 2019. Now bring back Bubble Bobble!

Pang Adventures doesn't go too far from the original formula, but it adds enough novelties (weapons, types of bubbles...) to not feel the same. The best part it's the local coop, sharing Joy-Con with friends in its three modes. Maybe it falls short, but if you love challenges, here you will find some (online rankings included).

I had a good couple of hours of Pang Adventures, mostly because I find the concept enjoyable. It’s a quick romp that only has legs if you get really into the co-op or leaderboards. If you miss Buster Bros. or just want a quick hit of arcade action, this Switch release is worth popping through. Just don’t expect anything more than a good old-fashioned Pang time.

Pang Adventures offers a tense and instantly enjoyable ode to a timeless arcade romp, and one that’s bound to engage and reward players who enjoyed it 30 years ago as well as those discovering it for the first time on the eShop. The support for online play is a real bonus, as many puzzle games of this ilk are want to simply plump for couch-play only, but for all its colourful chaos you are left hoping for something a little less predictable. Fans of the original will love it, but they may also lament the fact that more hasn't been done to update this classic series.

Action snack for the occasional funtime. Mechanically motivating re-imagination of an arcade classic, that unfortunately ends too soon and looks quite cheap.

Pang returns as fun, addictive and entertaining as ever, although its content is scarce. We miss more new elements, but it is still highly recommended for all types of players and very fun with company.

A fun little throwback to a simpler time, and a fun bash in local co-op, but ultimately a little disappointing considering the lack of lifespan. The core Tour Mode is too short and too easy, and then the extra modes are far too limiting to give this sufficient replayability. For fans of the series that didn't already play this in its first release, it's worth picking up to relieve the original, but it's not worth a double dip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my story mode play through. Some of the levels seem very challenging at first but all are very passable once you have experimented a bit and worked out the correct strategy. The boss fights are challenging and enjoyable. This game would have benefited from an extra game mode that allows you to play through a shorter campaign in one sitting, but I can still recommend this to fans of previous Pang games. It looks and sounds good, but most importantly it plays really well too. Expand
