Aug 6, 2017Don't buy this game until the major performance problems are patched. Game is running 23-24 fps at all times. As reviewers don't appear to be letting this address their scores I'll be giving this a big fat Zero since the devs apparently think we are imbeciles.

Jul 29, 2017Overcooked should be a perfect fit for the Switch, but the game is marred by BIG performances issues.
It can't even maintain a 30fps cap, and the more you add players, the worst the controls (2 is barely playable, 3 and 4 just awful).
Wait for a patch or play the PC version. -
Aug 6, 2017The Switch version is getting a higher metacritic score than the other consol versions even with it performing much worse. Vote with your wallet - don't buy until they fix it.

Feb 15, 2018This game sucks no point at all in anything. Game is only about cooking which is pointless

Jan 6, 2022The game with the worst performance I've discovered so far on the switch. It feels totally laggy. It's not understandable because the graphics are pretty poor. The gameplay didn't catch me as well. It's Boring and feels just like work.

Nintendo Force MagazineOct 30, 2017This is easily one of the best co-op titles on Switch and can't be recommended enough! [Issue #30 – November/December 2017, p. 19]

Aug 29, 2017Overcooked Special Edition on the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic slice of old school local player co-operative fun held back by the lack of a workable single-player mode and dogged by a series of annoying but not game-breaking performance issues. Packaged with both pieces of paid DLC for free, if you are a Nintendo Switch owner who will routinely have the opportunity to play with family or friends then even with the stated issues you’re in for an absolute hoot.

Aug 28, 2017Overcooked is a hectic party game that is great fun if you've got people to play with, but is enjoyable enough if you don't. It's a great addition to the Switch's library but it could have done with a bit more time in the kitchen to sort out its performance issues that keep me from rating this any higher. If those are fixed then its biggest issue is the painful gatekeeping of campaign levels that eventually just become padding rather than a learning aid.
