Oct 20, 2017A couple of patches in, this runs really nicely. A great challenge and a great co-op experience. The different worlds and recipes provide just enough variety to keep it interesting, but it doesn't get so complex that you can't bring friends in for 4-player.

Sep 19, 2017This game had a lot of optimization issues at first, but now it seems it is mostly fixed. With it's biggest issue gone, the game is basically flawless, with plenty of fun with friends with competition and coop. The amount of areas to cook are great and so many of them have variety that make them unforgettable.

Jul 27, 2017This is the perfect example of how couch co-op games should be made. Overcooked: Special Edition for the Switch is extremely fun and challenging when playing with friends, and somewhat enjoyable when playing alone. The HD Rumble function is perfectly executed, making the game even better.

Jul 28, 2017It's a fun game. But it seems to only run at 30fps despite being a fairly simple game, graphically. The biggest issue for me though, is that there's no local multi-switch multiplayer. Which means that you have to all share the same small screen unless you have a TV nearby.

Aug 6, 2017Don't buy this game until the major performance problems are patched. Game is running 23-24 fps at all times. As reviewers don't appear to be letting this address their scores I'll be giving this a big fat Zero since the devs apparently think we are imbeciles.

Aug 11, 2017This is a great Switch couch co-op game. If you are not a die-hard PC 60 fps elitist, you will find the gameplay good while trying to remember that gameplay is more important than graphics. The game has a lot of replayability value and is a game to surely make you laugh.

Jul 29, 2017Overcooked should be a perfect fit for the Switch, but the game is marred by BIG performances issues.
It can't even maintain a 30fps cap, and the more you add players, the worst the controls (2 is barely playable, 3 and 4 just awful).
Wait for a patch or play the PC version. -
Aug 6, 2017The Switch version is getting a higher metacritic score than the other consol versions even with it performing much worse. Vote with your wallet - don't buy until they fix it.

Feb 15, 2018This game sucks no point at all in anything. Game is only about cooking which is pointless

May 5, 2018I love party games and its really great in this area. Game brings all players together for a great fun, but sometimes it gets out of hand and very hard. Anyway I can recommend, we are having a lot of fun with family and friends!

Aug 8, 2017Un juego de cocina frenético, muy entretenido y excelente para jugarlo cooperativamente.
Una excelente opción de un desarrollador indie para Nintendo Switch. -
Oct 11, 2017Love it! Play it friends! Play it with Family! A really nice pick up, it fills the gap of a great couch co-op game that doesn't take too long!
there are issues... fps issues... and item pick up issues...
but get past those, get in to the theme, and you will have a good time! -
Mar 29, 2018Good game. Good frame rate. Good graphics. Fun with friends. Great experience all together, and yes
All frame rate issues have been fixed since launch in July -

May 20, 2018This game is great. It's not groundbreaking, but it's incredibly fun. Do you enjoy yelling at your friends to do better until you realize you're as bad as they are and completely fail a level? Well, this is that. Chaotic, fun, tons of content, and this game was made by a chef. That is impressive.

Jun 26, 2018There are a lot more great party games, do I have to play this game?
The game motion is bad and the play is boring. -

Sep 29, 2018The one of the best coop games I ever played.
Such a great fun and big challenge for all our family to work together. Even my little 6y daughter loves this game, but scaried about unbreads though ))))
It's very addictive - you won't go to sleep before you make new level ))) at least we don't! -

Apr 29, 2020总的来讲是一款非常合家欢的游戏。在能有妹纸一起玩的前提下可以打8分。

Sep 7, 2022Overcooked provides an excellent, and challenging, co-op experience. My friends and I had a blast completing all 3 stars for every level. With 2 free DLC there is plenty of content to this game.
I see many reviews complaining about poor FPS and stuttering, but I did not experience that issue. Ran fine for me. -
Jan 6, 2022The game with the worst performance I've discovered so far on the switch. It feels totally laggy. It's not understandable because the graphics are pretty poor. The gameplay didn't catch me as well. It's Boring and feels just like work.

Nintendo Force MagazineOct 30, 2017This is easily one of the best co-op titles on Switch and can't be recommended enough! [Issue #30 – November/December 2017, p. 19]
-
Aug 29, 2017Overcooked Special Edition on the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic slice of old school local player co-operative fun held back by the lack of a workable single-player mode and dogged by a series of annoying but not game-breaking performance issues. Packaged with both pieces of paid DLC for free, if you are a Nintendo Switch owner who will routinely have the opportunity to play with family or friends then even with the stated issues you’re in for an absolute hoot.

Aug 28, 2017Overcooked is a hectic party game that is great fun if you've got people to play with, but is enjoyable enough if you don't. It's a great addition to the Switch's library but it could have done with a bit more time in the kitchen to sort out its performance issues that keep me from rating this any higher. If those are fixed then its biggest issue is the painful gatekeeping of campaign levels that eventually just become padding rather than a learning aid.
