    Incredible art, music, voice acting and story. The JRPG style gets a little grindy but is managed well in this title.

    + Epic and gorgeous soundtrack
    + World inspired by the golden age of RPGs is gorgeously realised
    + Puzzle-like combat mechanics are excellent
    + Character classes, levelling and equipment management has great depth

    - Lack of compelling overarching story and character interaction
    - Writing and dialogue is entirely skippable at times
    - Pacing is a bit off given the 8 different paths

    I loved and enjoyed all the stories, the gameplay was fun although repetitive in the end and the art/graphics are amazing.

    Incredibly fun gameplay
    Beautiful 2D graphics without feeling dated

    Cons:
    Character paths conjoin in a very minor way; does not explain why Therion allows party members

    an absolute masterpiece! plot, music, characters, style. excellent voice acting. a stunning world that is fun to explore. one of the best JRPGs for me. there is nothing more to add. bravo!

    Only leaving this review to counter act attemptatreasons moronic review, he clearly doesn't understand what 'user' score means. It doesn't matter what you think it deserves, its what the game earned from its users. Also his review is void because he clearly never played the game. If he did he would of known that there is special party dialog.

    Octopath Traveler is bolstered by a strong soundtrack coupled with amazing visuals. If you enjoy older JRPG's then this game should be right up your alley. The 2D-HD style is phenomenal and seems like a great way to remaster older games.

    As others have noted, there is no real overarching plot, but 8 separate stories. This did not bother me and kept the game refreshing during its long run time.

    Simplemente genial. El estilo, la musica, la ambientación, jugabilidad... Ya lo he jugado 2 veces y seguramente dentro de un tiempo lo volveré a jugar. Nunca es mal momento...

    A beautiful game, great soundtrack and an interesting story. The best thing about this game is the secret/true ending where all 8 stories are combined and the characters share an ending. The difficulty of the game is enough to challenge you, especially because of the final boss, and you will need to understand each class/profession. El apartado visual y la banda sonora son maravillosos, y esta nueva estética de 2HD de Square apunta a convertirse en uno de sus pilares en desarrollo de juegos, y con razón. El sistema de combate es muy profundo, con numerosas posibilidades, y desafíos constantes. LosOctopath Traveler es un RPG precioso, que recupera la magia de antaño con unas mecánicas de combate muy bien ejecutadas. Lo peor es el la irregularidad de algunas historias, aunque esto puede deberse a la alta expectativa que tenia en este aspecto. Das Erreichen des letzten geheimen Bosses ist jedoch bizarr.     For those that love the 2D 16 bit RPG's back in the day you are going to be in for a treat. Visuals are stunning. Fantastic soundtrack. It sure is nice to still have some JRPG's that are turned based as that style has gone out of fashion over the years. (Try the demo if you want a sample)

    1 and only problem of this game but big one is the disjointed story of each character, No connection between them. Because It's the meat of the game beside the fight. Otherwise, this is a 10 /10, The Music is especially so beautiful, makes me wanna cry. It's sometimes baffled me if I'm thinking about this game again when someone ask me if they should play this game. Their decision on1 and only problem of this game but big one is the disjointed story of each character, No connection between them. Because It's the meat of the game beside the fight.     The dising of Octopaht Traveler is amazing. The soundtrack,The Story and the travelers are sooo Good. A really good game and a big recommendation for hardcore JRPG Fans!

    the developers popped off.
    It's a very grindy game. Like, too grindy. And I don't even care because the combat is so fun. The art style and soundtrack is godly, the stories (multiple) are AWESOME.

    Excelente RPG, lástima que la prensa no sabe mucho de Jrpgs y son un poco mancos, al no haber entendido el sistema de combate... debieron haber jugado algùn Bravely Default o algo por el estilo para venir preparados.
    Pixel art espectacular y la historia es innovadora, muy interesante como se cuenta a través de la mirada de 8 personajes... y para los que no llegaron al final, si hay    Excelente RPG, lástima que la prensa no sabe mucho de Jrpgs y son un poco mancos, al no haber entendido el sistema de combate... debieron haber jugado algùn Bravely Default o algo por el estilo para venir preparados.

    A beautiful game that is very charming, great battle mechanics and an incredible soundtrack. Only criticism is the story felt a little hollow as it's fragmented through all the various characters different story lines.

    While those looking for a deep, story-heavy RPG might find Octopath Traveler lacking, the game is a hugely enjoyable modern take on traditional turn-based games of yesteryear with a collection of short story, rather than novel-length, narratives. The graphics represent the pinnacle of pixel art and the score is amazing. This game was pretty much a system-seller for me and well worth every penny and hour spent with it.

    You can either hate Octopath Traveler’s art direction or love it, but it definitely will not leave you indifferent. Distinct visuals are just one of the game’s many strengths which make it a feast for the fans of jRPGs – and much more than that. It’s not flawless though – the dungeons are bland and there are virtually no relations between the characters in your party as they don’t communicate almost at all. [09/2018, p.66]
