Neurovoider takes a bold step forward and brings RPG and shooting elements into a roguelike game, a recipe that works surprisingly well. Action-packed, frantic and nerve-wrecking at times, Neurovoider could use a more balanced sense of progression and difficulty but it's certainly on the right path.

The action is intense, the controls are precise, the powers are diverse, and the Music is freaking AWESOME! I need to play it some more, particularly with multiplayer before I rate it higher than an 8, but I've seen enough to know it's at least an 8 and has potential to be much more. Full Review »

It's hard to articulate all the great things about it in such a short space, but in short, the art, music, gameplay mechanics, and general attitude of the game really struck a chord with me. I've been playing video games my whole life and just now made a metacritic account to rant about how good this one is specifically... I hope the devs are super proud of themselves :3 Full Review »

The action isNeuroVoider is a great twin-stick roguelike to add to the increasingly impressive array of indies on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The action is intense, the shooting is reassuringly precise and the customisation is addictive. In fact, the first time I played it, I had so much fun that it was nearly three hours before I put it down. Heck, it even sports co-op for up to four friends.

Being a roguelike, NeuroVoider isn't for the faint of heart. That aforementioned intense action is every bit as tough as it is fun. The fact that my first few runs lasted little more than a minute lays testament to that. Also some may claim that the procedurally generated levels (and enemies!) isn't different to any other game if it ilk, but with its loot and customisation, NeuroVoider does enough to stand out from the crowd. And at £11.99, it offers great value, too. Highly recommended.
