    Could have been great, lazy port. The game could have been a great time killer and maybe even some addicting play. However the port of this is so haphazard it's almost unplayable. I played about 5 minutes before getting fed up with the long loading screens and saving screens, stuttering, etc.. that I just uninstalled it.     This was janky and felt very average gameplay wise.

    Something about the graphics and characters were unnerving. I never quite felt very comfortable with the art style which probably contributed to my discomfort with the game. This is definetly more of a crafting and gathering sim then a farming sim as well. Sometimes it could start feeling really tedious. It just lacked a lot of charm I    This was janky and felt very average gameplay wise.

Especially the crashes are VERY frustrating as they mostly happen at the end of the day. Bought the game bc people said the majority of the problems have been fixed but either the new content patch introduced a ton of new ones or it was just not true.

    I love this game. It's like a 3D version of Stardew Valley. Actually they got rid of all the annoying parts about Stardew Valley, so I like it better. They really, really heavily copied Stardew Valley though...so much so, that I think Stardew Valley could probably win in a lawsuit.. It plays well on the Switch, except it always crashes after about an hour or two of play, which isn't tooI love this game. It's like a 3D version of Stardew Valley. After 5 minutes of playing, I searched it it is possible to refund digital copy, and unfortunately not. Probably the worst experience I’ve encountered on switch. Get the PC version!     The last time i have played such good game, which would at the same time be so pestered with bugs, was back in 1996 when Daggerfall was released.
    My Time At Portia sucked me in for at least 3 months and overall i greatly enjoyed it, but sometimes i wanted to smash my Switch because of the bugs. Items disappearing, glitched dungeons which cannot be completed, it has it all.

Así que decidí esperar un tiempo y fue una excelente decisión. Al insertar el cartucho, recibí una actualización de muchos gigas, la cual corrige yo diría en un 90% los problemas técnicos del juego. Definitivamente, ahora los tiempos de carga son normales, existen eso sí algunos errores gráficos y de performance, pero que no afectan profundamente la experiencia de juego.

    My Time At Portia es un juego de simulación RPG similar a Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing o Rune Factory. Ambientado en un mundo pos apocalíptico, controlamos a un albañil cuyo objetivo es recuperar las tecnologías ocultas en las ruinas del mundo perdido, construir grandes obras de ingeniería y mejorar la vida de los habitantes de Portia. Como buen simulador, la ciudad tiene una amplia variedad de pecualiares personajes con los cuales podremos interactuar, hacernos amigos, tener relaciones amorosas, casarnos e incluso tener hijos. Así como también luchar con monstruos y obtener valiosos botines para crear nuevos objetos. My Time At Portia se descata por ofrecer una infinidad de actividades y misiones que llevar a cabo, no exagero al decir que nunca falta algo que hacer en Portia. Podemos criar animales, cultivar vegetales, arboles, capturar monturas, descubrir recetas de cocina, recolectar frutas y hierbas, así como también mejorar nuestro equipo y armas para el combate.

    Portia es un juego muy completo en todo sentido. No solo por la cantidad de actividades para realizar, si no también por su apartado estético. Los paisajes que podemos observar en Portia son realmente maravillosos. Muchas veces me ocurrió que paraba un momento de jugar solo para admirar una puesta de sol, o la vista de la ciudad desde la colina más alta. Los personajes no jugadores están muy bien logrados, llenos de carisma, misiones que ofrecer y una personalidad propia que te harán realmente sentir mayor afinidad con unos que con otros.

    A pesar de que My Time At Portia aun presenta errores de rendimiento que molestan un poco, no dudé un segundo en otorgarle la nota máxima porque es simplemente el mejor juego de simulación que jamás he jugado (y he jugado muchos).     Encountered a bug on wow industry quest..for a game priced at $30 on digital, I could have bought runefactory 4 for an additional %10 instead of this title. Steer away from this title, play MtaP on pc instead

    I love the game, but it just does not run good on the system. Mediocre graphics and loading times, that take ages. Just get it for PC.

    This game is not perfect. I absolutely acknowledge that. There are still glitches, and loading times can be annoying, but they are not often. The main thing that I want to point out in this review is that many of the issues talked about in the other reviews were launch problems that have been patched out. It has been improved post launch. The worst thing that happened to me was that my house disappeared once -- once I managed to find where the door should be I was still able to enter it.

    So yes, it's not perfect. But behind the few glitches that still remain is a wonderful game. If you're willing to look past them, you'll have a wonderful experience, with crafting, a large world to explore, and the best mining I've experienced in a game in this genre. It's simply fun. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute, and do not regret my purchase at all.    … Expand

    The initial loading screen is quite long, but I do not suffer the same issues as listed in the other reviews, I get a slight screen stutter on TV mode when going up a certain road but thats it

    In terms of gameplay like I mentioned below very similar to Stardew except you have a workshop to restore rather than a farm, you can do all the same thing like mine, raise animals, crops, expand your house etc but you are also a builder and can take on contracts for repairs or to build resources or items

    It also has a simple combat mechanic and bosses to fight, the relationship system is also very much like Stardew where you gain relationship points and can get a partner, it is more fleshed out than Stardew though

    - Extremely poor lag and slow loads.
    - Many interactions with the game world are glitchy and don't activate when they should.
    - Very inconsistent quality in character and story development.
    - Bad graphics.
    - Very grindy game with little reward.
    - It had so much potential to be something great, like Stardew Valley, but the execution of the game was so poorly done.

    Load times are fine, but pausing, going into option menus, talking to people, pressing the jump button and even doing certain actions (I.E chopping down trees) will make the game freeze, and it will be noticeable. The    My Time At Portia is a great game, but the Switch port needs some work, and if you're thinking about getting it, read this first and deduce if you want to wait or not.

    The graphics are of course, downgraded. There are noticeable jagged edges at time with textures being visibly lower resolution and things popping in when you walk towards them, but this is a price to pay to get the game on the Switch.

    The game is also missing the voice acting. Most likely because it hasn't been finished yet.

    As with the PS4 and Xbox One versions, the game is at a lower version, meaning there are less features than the PC version. Most notably no Beards.    … Expand

    Portia is a rather large world waiting to be explored as you progress through the game with lovely visuals and a large amount of tasks to do. From farming, to building relationships with the towns people, to the main core of the game which is building; there are lots of things to uncover. However with the myriad of tasks to complete this game does not come without any downsides. However if you're looking for a game that you can put down and pick up at any time this is for you. The town of Portia will keep you occupied for hours on end, and if you're a fan of Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, or Stardew Valley than this game is right up your alley.… Expand

At launch, the game had a loading screen exceeding 5 minutes, which was reduced later to 2~3 minutes and is still with no improvement whatsoever. Everything is laggy. When the game first launched on the Switch the load times were unbelievably bad, but with recent patches they have gotten better. Not perfect but better. The ability to lay on a hammock out in the back yard and play this game far outweigh the extra time it takes to walk into your players house. But what you must know, some legitimate reasons towards deciding to not waste your money on it, is how the game crashes and how many of the game’s features are entirely unavailable in certain areas (because they simply do not work/trigger properly or at all). Out of all of the problems with this absolutely broken game, my biggest gripe against it is (of course) how it crashes too many times.

    I have played more than one in-game year and am simply at a point where I’m afraid to try any new things aside from the regular constant (eventually boring) routines that I know will work. For example, I finally planted a giant seed. Ready to harvest, I trigger to retrieve my plant and the game crashes. Not only do I have to restart that entire day after doing so much (and waste 10 - 15 minutes to load up the game due to its incredibly awful loading time), but I now cannot use a whole feature within this incomplete game, planting giant seeds. Certain items, i.e. the fish tank (smaller one), trigger yet another crash when trying to remove it from your workshop area and putting it back into your inventory, so now I have to have the fish tank there wasting space (also, the prompt to put fish in it never shows up, so it’s pretty useless). Many other times that the game has crashed is when loading up the part of the game where you can upgrade your workshop, move your structures around, etc. (it was only once, yet it’s still a time it crashed). In the sewer Hazardous Ruins (dungeon), another game-breaking moment. I could go on, but it’s really too much.

    In conclusion, do not buy this game. In fact, I implore you to please do not support the Nintendo Switch version of My Time At Portia so that it can be made known that there will be no supporting what is an incomplete and broken port that is buggier than a Bethesda game, but with none of the fun from it and with only more of the downsides. My Time At Portia for the Nintendo Switch is a game deserving to be recalled from the Nintendo eShop as well as all physical copies (they actually have physical copies being sold) until more time is put into it to polish the game and just fix it. If it’s, for some reason, incompatible with the Nintendo Switch, then just don’t sell it on there! Going ahead with it is basically a scam at that point. What is being sold for $30 (the price for the Nintendo Switch’s digital copy of My Time At Portia) is really worth $5 or less due to unavailable and missing content, game-breaking features, and just the overall lack of a fully-functional game.

    Now, apologies for the rant, but there’s nothing more honest than an angry review. I was really hoping to play this game ever since I saw it on Kickstarter years ago... Highly disappointed gamer here, especially since the game clearly has so much potential, yet I guess the developers were a bit too ambitious and stuffed the game with more than it could handle. I was loving it, playing it for days and really enjoying myself (while putting up with those issues and already two - three crashes), but it seems the more you play it, the more it’s going to crash and become unable to be played. I also only tapped into a few issues while there are still a tremendous amount. Might as well have all of the non-working gimmicks removed to clean up the game. I gave it a chance, but I’ve lost my patience as I know I will only discover more missing gameplay and more crashing if I continue to try to play this game. Anyway, that’s about it.

    You might never find a more absolutely amazing, yet most garbage game than this one - Nintendo Switch’s My Time At Portia.

This game is an unfinished buggy mess that lacks any polish whatsoever. There are thousands of simple things (no animation for going out of bounds, crazy lag, 2 minute load times for going literally anywhere,Biggest disappointment on the Switch. The game has crashed easily 30 times over 40 hours + of gameplay, and I recently contacted the game support devs and they told me to delete and reinstall the game, which I did. This actually created two new game breaking bugs that freeze me when I give a gift to npcs (which is a huge part of the game...) and prevents me from playing. Basically the game has now gone from deeply flawed, to truly unplayable. Avoid for now. If a patch is released that fixes the issues, I will update this review and the score. Again I like the game, but this port is for now unplayable.… Expand

If that's not the case, ONLY buy the PC version which is the most updated, best optimized, and has the most content.

    The game is very poorly ported to Switch. The    Portia is a complete and utter mess on Switch - and I'm still recommending it, though under very specific conditions only: buy the Switch version ONLY if you don't own a gaming laptop and desperately want to play on the go. If that's not the case, ONLY buy the PC version which is the most updated, best optimized, and has the most content.

    The game is very poorly ported to Switch. The graphics underwent a serious downgrade, yet the game still struggles to run at a solid framerate - on a console that handles a massive and beautiful-looking game like Breath of the Wild just fine. There is no excuse, Team 17! There are lags and hiccups everywhere, and even after a patch that improved loading times, it still takes about 3 minutes to open the game, which is so bad it almost makes Sonic 06 look good. I also had the game crash a few times, which mostly seems to be related to putting the Switch to sleep while the game is running - which you want to do in order to avoid the insanely long initial loading sequence.

    The graphics are BAD, they look like something from Wii - the original old Wii. Textures are incredibly low resolution, grass is missing entirely, there's absolutely no anti-aliasing whatsoever... Sound is the same, there are completely silent cutscenes, voice acting (present, if unfinished, in the PC version) was cut here, background music is just fine, though sound effects are rudimentary (there's no difference between a sound effect of a sword attack that lands a hit and a sword attack that misses, for example), and same goes for many animations (spouse interaction animations are extremely basic)... Gameplay-wise, there are numerous glitches, missions that take way too much fidgeting to get them triggered, NPCs getting stuck in place and freaking out, event timers getting stuck on screen despite being expired (though that's easily fixed by shutting down the game and starting it again), clunky combat... the list would go on and on...

    So why am I still recommending this game? The basis of a solid experience is there, it's just extremely unpolished. There's also a large amount of content for a game that's essentially still in development. There's building and upgrading of the town and your workshop, socializing with NPCs and eventual marriage and children, fishing, animal husbandry, farming, archeology, combat dungeons, quests, unlockable areas, there's a museum you can fill up with donated items a la Animal Crossing... And this is a game made by a tiny indie team on a budget of $150,000. The developer Pathea is clearly passionate about their game, and they deserve all the support they can get. They also didn't handle this port, that was Team 17's job.

    So again: this is a good game. It's unfinished, still in development and getting new content as we speak. It may take a while until it's complete, but what's already there is a lot of fun. Do NOT buy the Switch version if you have the means of playing on PC. Buy it on Steam instead, it's cheaper, much more polished, and has more content which isn't ported to consoles yet. If you can't or don't want to play the PC original, you might as well get it on Switch. Just don't forget to be patient, because the port is very, very broken! If you can get over the negatives, you will have a lot of fun.    … Expand

    Most of the user reviews are spot on. The loading times suck, the game does freeze for a moment while doing certain things like attacking, chopping or talking to NPC's. Other than those things, the game is fun and very addicting. For $30, you can't go wrong. The game reminds me a lot of Yonder, but that game was slightly better in my opinion. The only other negative thing i can say about this game is that the day/night cycle is way too fast. If you are a fan of farming/life simulator games, then this game is worth checking out.

    I originally had this game as a 6, but I am raising it to a 7. The more I play, the more I get addicted. The load times aren't so bad when actually playing the game, it is mainly when you turn the game on, it loads forever going to the menu screen, and then loads forever again when you load the saved game. Other than that, not too bad. The bosses do get challenging the deeper you get in the game. The game has seasons which was nice to see. I tell myself I will play for an hour and it ends up being 5 hours. That's how addicting the game is and how you get involved in it as well. I might raise the score again if it keeps getting better!

    A lot of these reviews are accurate so just read one! But someone giving the game 3 to 0 doesn’t understand rating a game because at a 3 I would think the game is unplayable! Which it is not it’s totally playable but has issues on the switch I enjoy it but don’t cry over a little.

    I can't even play this game. Everyone is right on about the loading and lag time but for me what's worse is no matter how you adjust the settings it's you can't easily move around. When you don't have the automatic camera adjustment setting you have to re-angle the horizon line to see what you're doing and where you're going. When it is on it moves around so much that you can't focus. II can't even play this game.     I was so hyped for a Harvest Moon like game... but i regret buying the game. What is really annoying me are the loading times.... and the graphics are not what i expected.

    I've been waiting for this since I first heard of the game, sadly I'm very disappointed. I don't mind the long loading times but the game has serious problems, very very low resolution textures in places, tons of missing sound effects (and I don't mean the voices), and huge lag/delay when doing most things. Sadly things like this really take the fun out of playing the game and I've now stopped playing it. as much as this game appeals to me, I just cannot recommend it in its current state, its borderline unplayable unless you have a LOT of patience.… Expand

    Waited for the Switch version for quite some time. Was utterly gutted to see such a scandalously lazy and buggy port. Loading times are horrendous, no more voice over, graphic downgrade... At this point in time, it's a scam. Don't waste money on this until it's properly fixed.

    Though the content and concept of My Time at Portia is sublime, having the potential to enslave your attention for months to come, the Switch port lacks the polish and love it so desperately deserves. Should quality of life fixes be implemented, this will certainly be worth sinking your time into. For now, not so much.

    My Time at Portia is a visually beautiful, charming game rich in story, lore, and personality; everything about it is made better by the jump to a portable console. While this version lacks voice acting and rumble integration, the portability and surprisingly decent load times make this a great way to discover all that Portia has to offer.
