Superb Game running suprisingly good on the Switch. The use of the capabiities of the RE Engine on a Switch is genius!

Gameplay is expected Monster Hunter-Goodness. Wirebugs are a little gimmicky but it really adds to just more gameplay. Which i like.

I was doubting about buying this game for the Switch because I thought the graphics would be terrible but is maybe one of the bests Switch Games on Graphics and Fluidity of the controls, I consider it as a must to buy for this season on Nintendo Switch.

I've played Monster Hunter games for a long time with over 300 hours in each game I've played. This one brings in a lot of things that just boost the quality of life for the player in ways you won't want to be without. I don't want to play my favorite weapons in other games because the switch skills make such a difference.
This all runs on the switch super duper fast compared to any of the previous entries. It's amazing, honestly!
The only gripes I have are twofold -
1 - The content is still being built up at this point. We all want to see our favorite monsters and additional areas brought in and that's going to take some time. I am sure this will no longer be a problem with a few updates.
2 - The hunting is kind of not there any more. You don't have to hunt them down as much as you can just go to the icon on your map thanks to the cohoot. It is nice to know where they are, but these environments aren't huge so finding them isn't ever an issue.
Still.. this is my favorite game and has already gotten 440 hours out of me since release.
    Hunt on!

Spent 30ish hours and still cannot get the feel of Monster Hunter in MHW. Then, I decides to enter MHR right away and it just feels like home for me.

Definitely they get back to the traditional formula but with QoL from World and it's just delicious. The combat especially is just wonderful, everything feels way faster and I love the adrenaline from the fast combat due to the addition of wire bugs (Insane!).

The graphics is great to be honest remembering it being released for Switch and I never feel there's any important or significant compromises that can affect how you view the game. If you compare it to MHW, you are just nitpicking. Monster Hunter is always about gameplay, graphics is just a bonus for me.

One thing that I just can't put this on top of GU is because the fact that you only have 1 village, Kamura. In GU you have 4 villages, well not big but it just feels nice as every village has a different theme and feel to it. On top of that, the amount of content in MHR probably only around 30-40% of MHGU. I spent around 70 hours in MHR and basically I finish all the missions (excluding Event, Rampage and Arena Quests). In GU, I've spent 135 hours and just barely play a little content of High Rank. Yes, I've just entered High Rank after 135 hours in the game.

Last, one epic moment in Rise is when the OST of Proof of a Hero kicks in when fighting against Narwa and Ibushi make me feels invincible and aggressive all of sudden. Completely brilliant composer.

Overall it's a great MH game and I prefer this one over MHW. Will definitely purchase Sunbreak when its on sale (too expensive on Switch).

The most refined monster hunter experience. This game took everything that world did right and just made the combat more fast pace, the hunting quicker with the addition of mounts, and made it all available on the most portable console. This game is a must for switch owners and monster hunter fans. This is probably the best monster hunter experience outside of iceborne. Definitely recommend this.

While I am a little biased because of my love for boss fights from any video game, this was my introduction into the franchise, which in turn has made me play the previous games in the series. What makes Rise stand out among it's predecessors, mainly 4 Ultimate and World, is it's wirebug system. No longer are you an immobile piece of brocolli with the insane manuevurability of the wirebug. It acts as an enhanced combo tool allowing special moves for each of the 14 wildly different weapons, while serving as a extremley fun grappling hook like device for you to swing around from wall to wall. My biggest gripes with the previous games in the franchise is the movement. The key to make a fun 3-D game is movement, with the massive verticality the various stages provide for the player mixing tremendously well with the enhanced movement options, even further emphasized with the edition of a Palamute, an adorable ridable dog (who is endlessly customizable) to assist you on hunts much like the Palico, but with an emphasis on speed. Throughout gameplay I was frequently switching between the 2 depending on the hunt and weapon. Gameplay is where any series shines the most and monster hunter has perfected since 4U. The 14 weapons each play so different from each other it's staggering how they snappy, tight, and powerful each one feels. Hunter customization is the bulk of what's going to keep you going to fight new monsters, enhancing your armor and skills to max out your arsenal using the monster's parts you receive from carving it against more monsters. I never found it boring going back with friends to slay a monster for one specific part because each of these barborous beasts fight so differently with such creative movesets, and jaw-dropping designs. The flagship Magnamalo is my particular favorite from this game's amazing rouge's gallery, with Narwa following closely, a much better line-up than World's cast that left so much more variety to be desired. Must-play for the Switch, has a perfect difficulty curve but if you're not feeling it I promise it's because you're not playing the right weapon. Expand

Its predecessor MH World introduced the series to a massive new audience with bringing it to not one but three platforms, a first for the series. This put a heavy weight on whatever game would follow to meet the lofty bar set. Rise not only meets this bar but aims to surpass its predecessor down the road in terms of monsters and variety.

One thing that a lot of veterans of the series can tell you was one of the most aggravating parts of Monster Hunter is getting from point A to point B. Map traversal is usually a difficult ordeal that was tempered in World:Iceborne with the mount system and fast travel system, though still with some rough edges. Rise improves upon both of these systems with the palamute buddy and a fast travel system that's faster to use and easier to understand respectively. Another less than fun portion of games in the series is the gathering quests and small monster hunts, where you're tasked to scrounge the map for gathering nodes and less impressive beasts. Rise answers these long standing low points with simply marking them on your map, leaving the task to simply traverse the zone. Less exciting sub quests are also often relegated to being optional requests that can be tackled during more exciting quests. For example, one request is to slay 8 Kestodon, a small and very easy to kill monster. You can queue a mission to take down a mark in the desert and any Kestodon you see on the way will count to the request. This is true for any of the requests, so feel free to line them up and take them all down while working on your key quests.

Rise also stands as a technical feat for the Switch, making incredible use of the RE engine and bringing the power of the hardware to bare. With so much going on that the player can lose track of things, the game continues to run at stable frames and shows no drop in visual quality. Obviously compared to World it may not look as realistic or detailed, but these factors would only matter in movies, not in an action game. The art style lends itself to the traditional Monster Hunter mesh of old-styled architecture mixed with bizarre and sometimes impossible industry, this time drawing from traditional Japanese designs.

Monster Hunter is also a series known for testing out new gimmicks now and again, from swimming to mounting and taking down monsters. Some have stuck around, some have been remixed, and some have fallen to the side. Gone is World's slinger and having to dig around for ammo, softening monster parts and shooting them into walls. In exchange, Rise brings the wirebug, a constantly recharging resource used for traversal and unique new moves for each weapon. You're able to climb nearly any surface you see, recover quickly from attacks and reach airborne nuisances with a quick press and aim. It can take a while to get used to and even longer to master, but when you find the groove you'll feel the incredible power it puts in the player's hand. The traversal benefits alone are a welcome addition, and being able to customize your move set is a welcome return that I personally hope stays for good this time.

One thing Monster Hunter has never been known for is story. You've heard it quite a few times, you arrive in a village and stave off all manner of dangers until you fight the big final beast and are named the hero, with a few changes here and there. World went to the next level with a more cinematic, if slower and more of a slog, story that required you to be by yourself for the beginning of each quest, leaving a very co-op unfriendly experience for a multiplayer game. Rise does have a sparse handful of cutscenes, but this time allows a full party to start the quest instead of individually viewing the cutscene, leaving and rejoining together. But Rise also suffers from a blatantly unfinished story and while Capcom has stated the upcoming updates will close off the story, right now it leaves a very unsatisfying tale.

Rise brings nothing but improvements across the board to the gameplay of the Monster Hunter series and a slew of much requested quality of life improvements. Whether the free updates with new monsters and quests will lead it to live up to its predecessors awaits to be seen, but what is there is a fantastic experience for new and old players and one of the best experiences on the Switch. It's lackluster story keeps it from a perfect score, but with so much of the game exceeding expectations, it remains a stellar vanilla entry in the Monster Hunter series.

Wow this game is so much fun I have around 100 hours on the game and I still can’t stop but there are some problems in the game

    Pros:

    -The music is next level

-The gameplay and the movement is just addicting I cant stop using the wire bugs and riding the palamute

-The map design is superb and the fact that everything around the map such as beetles and bugs are all so useful for your hunt just shows how far the team went in terms of making the player travel more around and looking everywhere to find all kinds of secrets and power ups

-The weapons are similar to the way they were in world but so much better the devs just took the weapons and made them so much better plus you can change your skills and the wire bug skills are just wow

-The new monsters are super cool I really liked the whole yokai design

-The armors look fantastic and real as if they were really made by the monsters you hunt

-The new rampage mode had me worried at first but I got hooked I found myself just doing the rampage missions non stop
The new armor skills they added and the whole re work they did in comparison to world is just superb

    Cons:

-Although good the gameplay is clunky at some moments

-the game is beautiful but the switch is still a very weak console and I sometimes found myself in a cave or near a lot of monsters and the fps drops just made me want to turn the game off

-the lack of end game because of the pandemic is just awful again I know that the team is not at fault here and they are releasing the missing content at the end of April but the game as Is right now is missing a lot of monsters and an ending to the hub story plus the village story just feels weak and short

in conclusion the game although lacking at some areas is such a fun experience even after I finished my build and every mission in the game I still want to come back and play more so my final score to monster hunter rise is a 9 out of 10 I really recommend this game for veterans and new comers alike

Monster Hunter Rise is one of the best looking games on the Nintendo Switch with Capcom using a modified version of their RE engine. During my 30 hours of gameplay so far I've only experience minor frame drops in one part of a certain map which had a lot going in with 3 players + our companions fighting.

One of the biggest cons for me and the reason why I can't give it a 10/10 is the story or lack of, with the game barely scratching on any kind of story apart from "There's a rampage happening." And it leaves you on a cliff-hanger where there was room for more storytelling.

Overall Monster Hunter Rise is shaping up to be my favourite game in the series and a must play on the Switch. I'm excited to see what they'll be bringing to the game in future updates.

This game may be short on cutscenes/monster introductions, but it is basically like Generations which had a few and was great. I could say this is game is a hybrid of Generations and World, in that, the hub area and quest setup is similar to Generations whereas the monster and weapon animations/designs are akin to World.

Is the perfect Monster Hunter, keeps what world made right to help people with its quality of life integrations, and brings some of the level style of old monhuns an integrate them perfectly. Besides, the wirebug creates a new dimension both for mobility and diversification of each weapon gameplay, creating different approach for each weapon in a more natural way that what they tried to do with styles previously. And Palamutes join the fray to make the travel a lot smoother.

The maps are enormous, smartly designed and full of places to explore, the new monsters are incredibly original and even the older ones have adjusted movesets that fit them perfectly in the speed pacing of the combats.

I belive it can get a little easy for most veterans, but they havent even removed the HR limiter yet, so there is room for dificulty development, and beyond that, the game still is super fun to play and has a lot of things to do.

Hope this game become the new standard for following monster hunters of how the gameplay and design choices must be. Amazing game, and a perfect Monster Hunter.

Although the story and characters were a little barebones and cliche, the strength of the core gameplay loops kept me thoroughly hooked all the way to the credits, and an extra 120+ hours beyond that. The music is fantastic, especially some of the monster-specific themes, and the UI is incredibly intuitive to navigate. Monster Hunter Rise is quite a complex game, and although the in-game tutorials were well-spread out and quite informative, there is still quite a bit of onus on the individual to go the extra mile and do some out-of-game study in order to explore the full extent of the game's systems and weapon mechanics. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd give this game 9/10, it's an amazing game that provides the right amount of challenge for newcomers. The fights are more fast-paced compared to older titles and the monster attacks provide enough challenge to avoid without it being too hard or too easy, which is perfect for the player who is new to Action RPG or Monster Hunter series. However, the fight tends to be too easy for players who played older Monster Hunter titles but the fight is still fun and entertaining. The endgame monsters is quite a challenge for average players however, they deal a hefty amount of damage and have more complicated attacks. The reason why I decided to give it a 9/10 instead of 10/10 is the endgame in general.

The endgame is quite repetitive for those who want to have the best of best gear loadout/build. You fight the same monster over and over again to get a "Talisman" you want which can be time-consuming depending on the skill you want for the loadout, The "Apex" variant of monster provides little to no purpose due to them not having unique gears which is quite a bummer. There aren't many monsters to hunt compared to older titles like Monster Hunter World: Iceborne or Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate but that I won't mind due to it still being a base game. The hunts after you hit endgame feel quite stale, you'll be fighting a monster in the same locale instead of fighting in a variety of locales that the monster can be in. Due to lack of difficulty as I wrote earlier, the hunts will lose their sharpness as they will become too easy for you after you play the game for a decent amount of time. It's a great game overall, the endgame bit too stale though.

the endgame is lacking, but i would be lying if i said that world's was any better, and at least it isnt al tedious and just straight up boring tempered monsters. The story is not very good, but no MH game has a good story since it is not the focus in the slightest. One of the best things about your MH is his goofyness and i was very sad to see it almost completely removed from the previous game in the series.
The roaster is EXCELLENT, a lot of monster types and some of the best creature designs ever seen in the franchise makes any hunt different from the other! You will fight bird wyverns, elder dragons, flying wyverns, leviathans, fanged wyverns, fanged beasts, temnocerans and many more.
Overall i have a few gripes with the game, like the complete failure that are solo rampages, and the lack of a good endgame, but would not vote it any lower nor any higher than this. 9/10 would hunt again

Each of them has unique mechanics on which you have to take into consideration several factors like positioning, speed, and timing to get the most of them. This weapon versatility is one of the beauties that Monster Hunter has to offer in regards to gameplay, once you break the obtuse learning curve of its mechanics and tutorials, there is a lot to chew off for everyone. Sadly there are no new weapons and aside from some tweaks for the majority of them, they feel relatively the same as past installments.

There are new tweaks that have changed the hunt experience, for starters, to advance through the main plot you're tasked to do 4 to 5 quests to advance to the next rank, so instead of the game forcing you to follow a set of specific quests you now can choose between 8 quests (just to say a number) and complete 4 of them.

Rise introduces Rampage mode, and it uses a similar formula but it is more complex and has a more clear Tower Defense type of game structure. At first, I didn't prefer it that much, because as with everything else with Monster Hunter it's filled with new poorly explained mechanics, but once you get used to it you can have some fun with this mode, especially while playing co-op, you have to make a lot of installations management so doing it solo can overwhelm you pretty easy.

Maps range from the typical forest with ruins to underground caverns in a volcano, excluding the arena and Rampage mode there are only five areas, each of them is designed with verticality and wirebug displacement in mind. In terms of offering something new, they feel somewhat common, Monster Hunter World gave us the standard five stages but they were exciting and different, the area selection in Rise not only has pretty regular areas but some of them feel as if they are expansions or recreations of past areas.

Monster Hunter Rise features 34 large monsters to hunt. Of these 34 large monsters, only 11 are new (one of this is the Rampage one) and the other 23 are returning monsters from different generations. These new monsters are mostly based on Yokai or Japanese creature folklore and are pretty neat in design.

After finishing the last monster battle, the story ends abruptly in a cliffhanger, it teases you with story bits and a monster that could easily be in the main game, and different from MH World this time around there are no more Elder monsters, no new weapon upgrades, just the ability to change the second color in your HR armor sets that frankly, it isn't that noticeable at all. With Iceborne and many updates after, we got layered armors, sadly, the only layered armors that we currently can have are tied only for amiibo or paid DLC. In MH World at launch you could get two versions of the same armor when reaching High Rank, here you only get one and that's all, more importantly, (and I know that this has been the case since the past games but that doesn't mean that it is a good thing), the armors for the returning monsters are basically the same as always, I would love to see new designs for each monster with each new installment, Rise has a Japanese theme so imagine all the missed potential.

Sports sequels like FIFA 20XX are released yearly and for what it seems, their upgrades aren't as big as other genre sequels that take from 3 to 4 years in development, but being yearly developed, I think it is kind of justified. Monster Hunter Rise was in development for at least 4 years, in that amount of time, other sequels have been made that offer a lot of new content, so speaking only in new content, Why Rise has a free pass in terms of giving us new stuff? To me it is kind of unacceptable, this is a sequel to a now AAA property, Why does it feel more like an expansion with a full price tag?

My time with Monster Hunter Rise has been a bittersweet one, it is undeniable that I have had fun while playing it with my friends since the first demo was released, however, it has a lot of issues inside and outside the game that I think I'm too old to overlook. For starters, this is a good game as any of the last games to enter, it is still filled with cumbersome and unclear tutorials that will easily overwhelm any newcomer, but once that bridge is closed, its new mechanics and QOL changes will take a lot of your days, in a good way. For veterans, I think this is a good time to think about what we deserve as consumers, are we really ok to accept a new sequel disguised as an expansion? What Capcom is doing here with Monster Hunter is basically giving us the same game over and over again with only the bare minimum of improvements to be passed as a sequel. I still love the franchise, but for the time being, I'm kind of done with it, unless the next installment looks like a true sequel I'm probably skipping it.

This game was an excellent introduction the Monster Hunter franchise for me, pulling me in almost immediately to the charming world and atmosphere Capcom has created. From the first monster I took on by myself, I was completely sucked in by the incredible music and the sounds of the hunt as I fought a powerful monster in an intense battle. From there it was an easy addiction as I always wanted to see what monster would come next, what areas it would live in, what it's movements and attacks would be like, and so much more that kept me coming back night after night for weeks straight. With such a charming town filled with fun characters and entertaining tasks to do, I never found myself getting tired of coming back to do things. If anything the game always made me feel like I didn't have enough free time to do everything I wanted in one sitting, which isn't a problem at all.

My only major complaint of this game is how they handled their cutscenes. Every monster has a cutscene before you face it for the first time... in the village, that is. If you face the monster for the first time in the hub you don't get these cutscenes at all, and with this being a multiplayer focused game that does present a sad problem. It's a little sad when you've already hunted a monster a few times with your friends, then go back to single player just to finally get it's cool introduction video. I could forgive this if the hub didn't have cutscenes at all, but they do have their own unique monster intros once you get to a higher hunting rank, so there was no reason for them to do things this way. Minor complaints include certain NPCs not telling you when you have new things to say, or dumping pages of tutorials on you right as you start your journey.

But in the grand scheme of things, these really are minor complaints. The core experience here isn't story, it's an intricate battle of you (and sometimes friends) vs a world of monsters so you can have intense battles, then craft their remains into very cool looking armor. It may sound basic and barebones to an outsider, but once you get your hands on this game for a few hours it becomes impossible to put down. I'm so glad I gave this franchise a chance because it has completely charmed me, and I believe I'll be returning for every core entry going forward. I will happily await the free DLC that will be coming today and the following month. I look forward to seeing them end the story, since again, it's missing from the base game.

Хорошая часть серии, но до World ей далеко. Так как она портативная ей можно многое простить.

While I enjoyed the new monsters, the wire bug mechanics and the ability to mount monsters, that wasn't enough to get me to love the game. Its main story is short and almost nonexistent at times. Hunts are easy, even playing solo. They are short and fast, catered mainly to the Switch. Designed to play with friends and get some fast hunts done while you are on the go. The game is visually a downgrade from World but also terrible even for a Switch game. I still had a good time with Rise though, its hard to fault its addictive, casual and fast gameplay. A hard game to review, so check out all my thoughts on it here: https://youtu.be/3r5s36KllA0 Expand

Good game, real combat feeling, I like the new combat system very much, but compared to MHW, there are many missing elements, and subsequent updates are also slightly insufficient

This series has settled into a formula so straightforward and mind-numbingly expected that I can't get excited for any new Monster Hunter game anymore...but it's also Monster Hunter, so that formula happens to be incredibly strong.

The game looks solid (though a bit cluttered with the ridiculous hit effects), and there's plenty to love here. It's still a grindy MMO at heart, but a good one. Pick it up if you already like Monster Hunter, don't if you don't. This game won't change your mind on the series if you already dislike it.

Monster hunter rise is an improvement over World. The wirebug mechanic and wyvern riding are welcome additions to make the game more interesting and unique and I believe they should stay. The roster of monsters is more diversify than World and each monsters feels different. One of the few issues I have with the game is the lack of endgame content and how it a little too easy with some monsters.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Monster Hunter Rise is the perfect balance between the QoL that made World the sales powerhouse that it was, mixed with the bright, over the top colors and weapons that GU was known for. While hunting styles are no more, switch skills and silkbind attacks have taken their place and even brought back some familiar moves that veteran hunters might remember.

The setting is beautiful, map traversal is now more fun than ever with the additions of palamutes, gathering is a cinch, and there are plenty of secrets hidden around for those adept with the new wirebug mechanic added in this game.

My biggest gripe with the game, however, is that upon finishing the high rank hub quests, the game ends rather abruptly; as though it was unfinished, and rushed to meet the March 26th release date. The weapon trees still have massive question marks at their end, talismans are a pain to farm for, and money seems to be the largest issue overall.

I absolutely adore Monster Hunter Rise, but I feel as though it needed a bit more time in the oven.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I would give an 8.5 if I could. I just completed the story (low rank) in about 6-8 hours of play time, and the only semi challenging monster for me was the last boss, and I still didn't cart. MHW was my first MH game and I have about 500-800 hours into it, so I have decent experience with the game, so maybe that's why it felt too easy. I'm also surprised how fast I beat low rank, but maybe that's because I'm not new, so take this review with a grain of salt.

I think this game is perfect for beginners, but to fans of the series and gamers who enjoy a challenge, this is a letdown so far. Maybe it will change with high rank (I'll update this), and I'm sure the DLC will have more challenging monsters, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Still a lot of fun, but I would love some more challenge.

    Definitely recommend it

If you enjoyed Monster Hunter World, this game doubles down on its design philosophy and you'll probably love this game. It's a fast-paced romp. If you liked the older MH entries and hoped this would be a return to form, it isn't. It's not definitely not a bad game, but it's not what I was hoping for.

My review is going to be as unbaised as possible. Monster Hunter was a game i played when it first came out on the ps2 and loved it even if the old attack style with the analog sticks was...well unique. Monster Hunter World broke what i was expecting and gave me a fresh experience similar to how the original made me feel. Now comes rise. It took the old style and mixed with what World change for the better. This game is technically unfinished so right now im a tad harsher on it til the updates are out which will eventually bring the real ending. As of right now even with taking it slow ive already experienced all the hunts and fight the current end boss. With my schedule i can only really play about 4hrs a night during the week. I have around 80hrs in. This feels short to me compared to all previous titles even with it being unfinished so my score could lower or raise with the last update. The current end boss fight is VERY underwhelming. It feels next to impossible to fail it and i was bored with it a third in of the fight. Xeno was a much more entertaining fight. My overall score at the moment is 8 due to the fact for me this title feels easier than the other titles and there isnt much left to due after the current last boss. The content ,while isnt small, feels so because of how fast you can challenge it all. And with the added verticallity they made the hit boxes of all hunts HORRIBLE in the air makes thing frustrating if you actually try to use the wire bug for the attack they added.
Now for more of the posstives. I love the fact that you can actually craft all decorations now.The wire bug is definitely a little better than worlds sling and clutch claw. And they at least made most weapon designs varied like the old games. The palimute is a nice addition even if i hate the name. (Dont like palico ether should he what the buddy plaza cat leader calls them meowcenaries). The game is locked to 30fps and feels smooth even tho its just 30. Doesnt feel as jarring as youd think if you play on pc youd know lol and has very little to no drops. Then again its only 720p even when docked.

All in all i hope these too updates meant to complete the game bring a lot to the table other wise i do not see this game holding most players (except the hardcore old school MH vets) interest for while like World did with the updates and expansion. Then again they could surprise me.

Loving the game so far. But once your done ravaging through multiple monsters, there's a a lacking feel to it, the games polished, aside from the hitboxes sometimes over extending, but combat is perfect, weapons have an undeniable weight on to them, the palicos and palamutes are so much more useful this time, meaning you dont feel alone in combat. Im hoping more from MH rise, because as ofLoving the game so far. Great game, as expected. I've been playing since 4 Ultimate and while I don't quite like Rise as much as World, it's still a great experience that I'd especially recommend to newcomers. It's perhaps the most fluid and accessible entry, and it feels quite a bit easier than World, Generations and especially 4 Ultimate. Give this game a shot, and you'll sink in dozens of hours in no time.Great game, as expected. Bello ma non a livello di monster hunter world.
    Switch macchina arretrata.
Gli attacchi fil di seta funzionano bene nelle meccaniche di gioco.
Forse è ora di aggiungere un'arma nuova

Monster Hunter Rise is absolutely phenomenal. It will be a worthy contender for GOTY but could easily be discussed as Game of the System. [Issue #4, p. 49]

I’m impressed by how well the developers thought this game through. Rise simultaneously improves the formula used in World and makes Monster Hunter more friendly towards newcomers. It makes great use of Switch’s nature and by clearly separating the multiplayer from the single-player campaign, it ensures you’re going to have fun regardless of the circumstances. Apart from one subpar mode (which imitates a tower defense), it’s an amazing game. [06/2021, p.42]

Rise has taken note of the franchise’s most successful elements, and refined them into the best Monster Hunter yet. By continuing the streamlining that Generations and World started, Rise has focused on making the actual hunting the most engaging it has ever been.
