    Monster Hunter rise improves in a lot o manners the MH experience. It has a more interesting tematic and setting. It has a gorgeous, and with so much detail, art style with the paint drawings, picture mode, the UI and menus. The maps are realy interesting. Weapons never been more fun and accessible, which is a really remarkable feature when you consider that the wirebug seems ratherMonster Hunter rise improves in a lot o manners the MH experience. While it does greatly diversify the range of movement, it's a intuitive mechanic, granting this iteration a feeling that is not quite like either the old games or wod/iceborne.     When I bought this game I was expecting a 3ds-like game with some improvements to make it look like MH World.
    I had no idea that a vice would hit me like the ones that I have not hit myself since I was little, I have more than 30 hours of play in 3 days and I can't stop. It is by far the best monster hunter I have tried in a long time and I have played all of them since 4.

    The combat is very fast and rewarding, a lot of the nasty grinding mechanics have been removed and the new string system is just great, it feels like playing spiderman.
    I recommend it 1000% whether you are a fan of the saga or not.

    No tenia idea de que me pegaria un vicio como de los que no me he pegado desde que era pequeño, tengo mas de 30 horas de juego en 3 dias y no puedo parar. Es por mucho el mejor monster hunter que he provado en mucho tiempo y eso que he jugado todos desde el 4.
    El combate es muy rapido y gratificante, muchas de las mecanicas de grindeo desagradables se han eliminado y el nuevo sistema de cuerdas es simplemente genial, se siente como jugar spiderman.
    Lo recomiendo al 1000% ya seas fan de la saga o no.    … Expand

This version brings a lot of improvements from World, while introducing its own original ideas that all add up to a fast paced extravaganza in hunting the best monsters in the series. This is the best entry for newcomers as well, so thereThis is definitely the best outing for Monster Hunter.     I LOVE this game, already hours of fun, I get what people are saying about the story but honestly I don't care about that as long as I can have a blast slaying these extremely fun, different, unique monsters. Plus it's one of the best running/looking games I have played in a long time. Even got more girlfriend into it, as far as customization and the dog (palamute) in it lol. I can't waitI LOVE this game, already hours of fun, I get what people are saying about the story but honestly I don't care about that as long as I can have a blast slaying these extremely fun, different, unique monsters.     Increíble juegazo, su apartado grafico, su jugabilidad, su banda sonora son 10/10 verdaderamente una obra maestra, candidato al GOTY desde ya.
    Cualquier jugador conocedor o no de la saga lo disfrutará gracias a que es un juegazo en toda la linea.

    Sencillamente, una obra maestra. no solo en la mecanica que han logrado mejorar muchisimo, sino en el apartado tecnico... increible lo que Capcom logro para una consola portatil. Comparar este juego con el World o cualquier otra plataforma es sencillamente estupido... Me ha encantado

    Might be the best Monster Hunter yet. Excellent set of monsters, excellent weapon and armor designs, great new improvements to the weapons, all the new monsters are excellent, just all around a great new installment. Graphics are excellent for a Switch game and performance is super smooth. Haven't obsessively played a Switch game like this since Hades.

    I have played every major Western release MH game since Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP, and can say that Monster Hunter is one of my favorite game series. This is hands down my favorite of the series. I went from MHW to MHGU, and the QoL changes were very clear. They have taken out a lot of extra tedium, and it makes for a much smoother game overall. Combat has never been smoother, andI have played every major Western release MH game since Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP, and can say that Monster Hunter is one of my favorite game series. This is hands down my favorite of the series. I went from MHW to MHGU, and the QoL changes were very clear. They have taken out a lot of extra tedium, and it makes for a much smoother game overall. Combat has never been smoother, and the new Wirebug feature makes combat so much faster. As an insect glaive main I was disappointed to find some pretty significant nerfs when compared to mhw/iceborn. Iceborn tried to compensate for this by making everything hit like a truck but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. MH Rise is wicked fun and the gameplay loop is addictive as all heck, this is a Monster Hunter game that you don't have to sink 300 hours into just to learn all of the mechanics properly, this new generation of Monster Hunter games are really something special, pick it up and enjoy the ride.… Expand

    Played the demo version only and honestly this my first monster hunter game ever. Loved the gameplay mechanics on the switchlite . Beautifully made from ground up for the switch. Played 30 hours on demo so gonnaa get the game soon

    Es ist in meinen Augen eines der besten Nintendo Switch spiele, und sieht wunderschön aus. Es hat mich außerdem erstaunt, das es im Randale Modus (aus eigener Erfahrung) so gut wie nie frame Rate Einbrüche gibt.
    Kann das Spiel nur Weiterempfehlen

Monster Hunter Rise is the perfect balance between the QoL that made World the sales powerhouse that it was, mixed with the bright, over the top colors and weapons that GU was known for. While hunting styles are no more, switch skills and silkbind attacks have taken their place and even brought back some familiar moves that veteran hunters might remember.

    The setting is beautiful, map traversal is now more fun than ever with the additions of palamutes, gathering is a cinch, and there are plenty of secrets hidden around for those adept with the new wirebug mechanic added in this game.

    My biggest gripe with the game, however, is that upon finishing the high rank hub quests, the game ends rather abruptly; as though it was unfinished, and rushed to meet the March 26th release date. The weapon trees still have massive question marks at their end, talismans are a pain to farm for, and money seems to be the largest issue overall.

    I absolutely adore Monster Hunter Rise, but I feel as though it needed a bit more time in the oven.    … Expand

    Amazing game, I thought the magic died after 150hrs of world but this game surely brought it back. Have been playing nonstop doing even the fetch quest and I'm loving the music, Gameplay, everything! Kudos to Capcom let's hope they bring good dlc along the way.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game developers did a great job optimizing the game for the platform it’s on the Nintendo switch. Monster hunter rise maintains a solid 30fps no matter the situation. Even in multiplayer the frame rate is stable 30fps. Also let’s just say that this game is one the best graphical games on switch with all its details like the Foliage and monster textures. The gameplay is significantly better with increased movement speed with the palmutes and wire bug. To me the only downside was the main story was only 15 hours but The developers already announced they’ll be adding more monsters in April several in fact. Also a later update with the ending of the story and even more monsters. So I have little concerned that we won’t have a conclusive story at the end of the game cycle I will be looking forward for those updates.In my conclusion if you’re looking for a game with Solid gameplay and good multiplayer lasts hours with friends monster hunter rise game for you and switch.… Expand

    As someone who didn't care about Monster Hunter back when the series blew up with World in 2018, I absolutely fell in love with Rise. 4 days in, I'm already clocking in at around 30-35 hours. I can't put my controller down it's so addicting. Can't wait to explore more of Kamura.

    Best Monster Hunter so far and I love how they finally improved your movement and way to traverse the map. No more loading screen in between location. Would highly recommend.

    Im not a critic, im not even an fluent english speaker but, i had to rate this game, it is awesome, im having a blast and i have yet to try the multiplayer.
    I played MHW until i got bored , and i can reslly say, even with the obvious graphical disadvantage, this game is freaking fun. Thats all i have to say, buy it, play it, love it!

    Basically everything good about the monster hunter series mechanically wise is here even the adept style in the dual blades (for better or worse) is still here and updated to new gimmick nicely, only problem is if your coming from MHWORLD then the graphics are not at that level or as smooth.     Una versión mucho mas sencilla de lo que es MHW, con gameplay y estética que recuerdan al Monster Hunter de la PSP. El juego es bastante accesible para jugadores casuales.

    Mi única queja es la parte del tutorial, me parece demasiado tediosa, sería deseable que pudiera ser deshabilitada para los jugares con experiencia previa.

    I don’t remember being so addicted to a MH game since MH3, I got bored of world really son and the online was the slowest thing ever. Now everything is faster and to the point. You don’t need to grind or farm until you are in the HR6 or so. Really excited for the April update, and future free updates after that. Minimum 30h to complete the main history pre April patch at least.     This game is just incredible. Again a vast amount of improvements i didn't know i wanted or needed. This is game feels like how I remember MH Freedom Unite, which is incredible since that for me represents a childhood game I have invested 1000h+ into. Love it!

    I picked this up as my second Monster Hunter game, i had MHGU but never really got into it. Overall it was a really fun game and i put alot of hours into it, however it felt very short and the ending was very abrupt. Still well worth the money and very enjoyable to play and i am hoping for a DLC soon, because i'll buy it instantly.

I've completed the normal game and half of iceborne, I got a little board and the game wasn't appealing to me anymore. Until the the release of rise.     This is a great game!. I am new in the franchise (started with MH4U for 3DS). I have been playing MHW (PC) in recent years and I can say this MHR is as great as MHW and even better for beginners with the quality of life improvements Capcom included in this release. I am surprised how great this game looks and plays on the N Switch.

This game is the successor to generations ultimate. the way multiplayer works, single player, food, palico training area, quests, everything is born from the old school monster hunter. there is quality of life enhancements such as no loads between areas and load time are really quick. the armour and weapon systems are pretty much the sameDon't compare to World like most of you tube is!     Essentially, the quality of life and the new mechanics don't break the game. it is easier than previous titles, but only because your already a skilled hunter if returning to the series. I thought it was stupid easy until I seen family that have never touched the series before trying to get to grips with it all, then I realised that I do have over 5000 hours spent on the series since early 2000's.

    I do miss mechanics from world that I had got used to sure. For instance, I really miss the clutch claw, hanging off its face and punching it directly in the face to turn the hulking beast and smashing a monster into a wall from it is way more satisfying than silk bind control, dropping off a high level directly landing on and mounting the monster is immense fun and missing too. Another infuriating thing is when the creature is battered and needs to run away, you could zip onto it in world and keep it in the area, which now its going to get away even on the back of your trusty Palamute, BUT, that's why all this should not be a comparison to World, its not World. The mechanics feel more of a direct lineage upgrade from generations ultimate rather than from world. World is very western in its story and its characters, and overall look (designed to be so) . Rise goes out of its way to introduce Japanese culture. its built for the handheld market, and that has always been strongest in Japan and Asia.

    Any monster hunter worth his salt is going to own every console or Pc with a current monster hunter game. world will have a world 2 for pc and console, and rise is the start of Capcom's new handheld MH Branding. So get ready to own 2 consoles or Nintendo and a pc whilst MH Stories is Capcom's mobile phone branding. As a business structure its sound (own three games rather than 1) and this will pave the way for a very bright future for all of us hunters as all games are fully supported. The series is still in the 'growing the fan base and loyalty' stage of development due to the west being late to the MH party.

    As for possible lack of content, you only have to see how Capcom have handled this in the past with constant updates and new monsters/weapons/armour/areas. your game is going to stay relevant for a very long time.
    lets hope Capcom don't do an EA or Activision once they have the massive user base, because you can see how that went, all those micro transactions and ripping the customer until the product saturated the market and fell from grace because of greed is to blame for the vacuum of power in the gaming world, and Capcom and Square Enix were just waiting for that moment to launch Jap gaming back into the mainstream.

    MH Rise is worth every penny. Cannot wait for G rank in rise and world 2 on the next gen consoles!    … Expand

    Absolutely love it, if you enjoyed world then you will love this too. Everything feels so much smoother and faster pace than world too which is great because it cuts down on a lot of the tedious things from world. Overall if you’re thinking about getting it just go ahead and get it, worth every penny with lots of free content coming down the road soon!

    If you enjoyed Monster Hunter World, this game doubles down on its design philosophy and you'll probably love this game. It's a fast-paced romp. If you liked the older MH entries and hoped this would be a return to form, it isn't. It's not definitely not a bad game, but it's not what I was hoping for.

    One of the best Monster Hunters.
    It remembers me of Tri, the same sensation of being a real NEW monster hunter.
    Love all the mechanics and the dynamism.

    And we are talking about the core game, without updates.... And if this turns a G for free (looks like) makes this game the best one.

    I knew after the demo that this was going to be something special and after 15 hours I gotta say they have nailed it . It's totally designed for the switch and looks and plays phenomenal on it !
    The stages and combat now are incredible bit best of all is the music ! I'm buying the soundtrack to this gem of a game ! Buy it

    Fantastic. This is the best monster hunter game. Took World’s smoother movement, open maps, and added insane levels of elevation and movement. Yes at launch the story isn’t over, but Capcom’s promised completion in April’s update.

    Barely forced myself to put down the gamepad. I want to say only one thing - this game is just a MASTERPIECE! And undoubtedly the best game I've ever played on NS!

    It feels a bit unfinished, the groundwork is amazing, the mobility, new monster designs and move set, it's all great. World only had 1 extra monster on launch compared to Rise though, so over time this entry can reach extremely high, with the inclusion of master/G ranks, doubling the roster, adding to and finishing up the main story.

    But overall it's a very decent entry.

    Definitely game of the year so far. My one complaint is that there are a few things behind a pay wall. Like cosmetic armor. But the game is nearly perfect. Best online servers for Switch and great story for single player.

    I've been playing for about ten hours now and can honestly say I think it's better than world. I invested about a total of 150+ hours on MH world between PS4 pro and my PC. And while the graphics are a bit behind it's next gen console brother the gameplay in Rise seems to click with me a lot more. Between the asthetic and and a bit of a return to the more classic formula (no slingshot orI've been playing for about ten hours now and can honestly say I think it's better than world. I invested about a total of 150+ hours on MH world between PS4 pro and my PC. And while the graphics are a bit behind it's next gen console brother the gameplay in Rise seems to click with me a lot more. Between the asthetic and and a bit of a return to the more classic formula (no slingshot or literally glowing path showing you the way) it feels like a more genuine successor to MH3U. Although it does keep some of the insanely welcome quality of life improvements like infinite whetstone. This happens with very few games to me, but rises core gameplay and qol changes are absolute godsends and really push the limit of what this series can do. It has flaws yes, but is vastly outnumber by its strengths. Play my rise, it's so worth your time.     I’m impressed by how well the developers thought this game through. Rise simultaneously improves the formula used in World and makes Monster Hunter more friendly towards newcomers. It makes great use of Switch’s nature and by clearly separating the multiplayer from the single-player campaign, it ensures you’re going to have fun regardless of the circumstances. Apart from one subpar mode (which imitates a tower defense), it’s an amazing game. [06/2021, p.42]
