Clash of Heroes is basically a puzzle game crossed with a turn-based strategy title. After a set number of turns the attack launches across the centre line towards the opponent's army, interacting with any enemy units which are in the way, and possibly damaging the enemy leader as well.

Specials units are also dropped at random and these launch more powerful attacks once activated. The single player campaign provides good value entertainment (and needs to be played to unlock extra characters) but, for me at least, it is the multiplayer that has brought me back to play time and time again as it can often become a very tactical affair.

This Definitive Edition is essentially the same as the 2009 original just with a bit of upgraded artwork.

What an amazing game! So simple to play, but experimenting with different units, items and strategies makes a playthrough of this a really enjoyable and engrossing experience. I enjoyed the story and I really appreciate some of the 'unique' challenges implemented in some of the battles to switch things up a bit. You must give this a try if you like turn based strategy games! Expand

Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes: Definitive Edition’s nearly perfect combination of puzzle and RPG elements make for engrossing gameplay that’s only occasionally hampered by frustration with the components that involve random luck. Whether this is your first playthrough or a double (or even triple) dip, it’s not to be missed.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes has held up very well despite many similar games coming out in the intervening years. It offers a high level of depth in its battle system that keeps you coming back, and is especially well suited to the Switch’s handheld mode that makes it easy to say “just one more battle.”

Might & Magic – Clash of Heroes: Definitive Edition doesn’t add very much to the original game, but it was already a strong game that stands for itself quite well in modern times. Dotemu has done a capable job of bringing it to the Switch, and it fits the platform almost as well as it fit the Nintendo DS. If you’re looking for a cool new puzzle game that offers both a substantial single-player mode and enjoyable multiplayer gameplay, you’ll likely be quite satisfied with what this game has to offer.
