    Metroid Prime is absolutely GOAT. This game is exactly what I wanted it to be. This remaster is how remasters should be made. It was a classic back then and it is still a classic now.

    This is a top 10 game of all time and has been remastered beyond what I thought was possible on the Switch. So happy I can play it on a modern console with dual stick controls!

    I don’t get the hype. Never played the original game. Maybe that’s why. After finishing it I felt like I ran every single corridor 500 times. Map is super confusing. Menus are archaic. Enemies are annoying at the end, appearing again and again, at the end I just ran by them all the time. Nice sound. Nice textures.

    Aun que se llame remaster, esta mucho mas cerca de un remake que de un remaster, reviviendo esta grandísima aventura de Gamecube, en la piel de Samus, con esa jugabilidad que a tantos nos enamoró en su momento, que parece que fue ayer pero recordemos que es un juego de hace 21 años. Increíble revivir esto, de esta forma tan genial, a 60Fps, y con un juego que es top grafico dentro de loAun que se llame remaster, esta mucho mas cerca de un remake que de un remaster, reviviendo esta grandísima aventura de Gamecube, en la piel de Samus, con esa jugabilidad que a tantos nos enamoró en su momento, que parece que fue ayer pero recordemos que es un juego de hace 21 años.     A rare remaster that improves upon the original while retaining everything that made the original so special. It’s almost as if this remaster is the game Retro Studios would’ve made if the technology available now was available then. My only complaint is the same complaint I had back in 2002, the game is a little short. An experienced player will easily pass it in 8 to 10 hours.     O jogo vai além de uma simples remasterização. Teve toda geometria, ambiente oclusion e áudio refeitos entregando uma experiência que já era boa lá no GC/WII. A experiência em jogar no Switch está muito satisfatório. É bom ver o tratamento que a Nintendo ven dado a Metroid. O jogo segue lindo e com uma jogabilidade aprimorada. Recomendo demais, Prime é uma obra prima, uma pérola no mundoO jogo vai além de uma simples remasterização.     One of the best games of all time just made better and accessible for younger audiences to play this masterpiece. I only hope MP2 and MP3 come after. Even Hunters.

    I cant believe my eyes! This was an AAA game 20 years ago and still has the same atmosphere and quality. One of the best games ever made. It's that good. Awesome.

    Metroid Prime is already one of the best games of all time and they managed to upgrade all textures or redo all of them from scratch and it looks so beautiful. They also have added so many accessibility and control options that capsulates the modern feeling too. The price being 40$ instead of 60$ is just beautiful.
    Original metroid prime was 97 this game deserves even higher!!!

    A nigh-perfect remaster to a nigh-perfect classic title. This is probably the absolute best-looking game on the Switch so far--it's hard to believe it can run at a consistent 60 frames with the hardware it's on, and even harder to believe such a high-quality rework isn't priced at a full 60 dollars. The unbeatable atmosphere and attention to detail the original game is known for is onlyA nigh-perfect remaster to a nigh-perfect classic title. This is probably the absolute best-looking game on the Switch so far--it's hard to believe it can run at a consistent 60 frames with the hardware it's on, and even harder to believe such a high-quality rework isn't priced at a full 60 dollars. The unbeatable atmosphere and attention to detail the original game is known for is only amplified here. There are plenty of control schemes to choose from in this version, including a modern dual-stick FPS-style layout and the (admittedly clunky) original GameCube layout. Prime's only real flaw is probably the pointless and tedious collect-a-thon crammed into the end of the game, which is unfortunately still present here. The only gripes I have regarding the rework itself would be that it's a little too cartoonish for my taste in some areas (like the smoothed-out text font) and that the removal of the traveling light emissions from beam weapons does hurt immersion a little bit compared to the original version.… Expand

    This games brings back so many memories from 2002. Retro Studio really did an amazing job remaking the game with beautiful graphics & a few tweak to improve the accessibility. This is now hands down the best way to play Metroid Prime.

    10/10, the original was/is one of favourite games of all time and this remaster/remake is shaping up to become the same, I've been into video games since I could hold a joystick (spectrum kid here!)     It is indeed Metroid Prime. probably the only game series to get metroidvanias rights in the 3D space. Metroidvanias are not for everyone, but if that is what you are looking for you will find it here! Play this game if you want to feel truly alone in a hostile environment, and slowly but surely become the master of that environment before leaving.     I never liked FPS games or first person games in general. That game was the major exception, it's so perfect! It's sequels weren't quite as perfect as this one.     Masterfully made!
    This remake is exactly what I remember playing back when I was young. The lighting is on point, the graphics are fantastic and the game is still as good as ever, maybe better with the dual stick style gameplay. Its also faithful because it has the old way of playing it. I love it.

    This remaster has brought one of the greatest games of all time to a modern console and updated the controls for modern times. The graphical upgrade is incredible and it's an absolute joy to be able to play this game again! I hope we get 2 and 3 remastered as well before 4 releases! Metroid Prime is back baby!

    This is how you do a goddamn remaster, baby! Even if you are not a metroid fan, i think that this is the great introduction to the series. Unlike Skyward sword, this game is much cheaper, which is very good for my money situation. So please, buy this game. You will not regret it.

    This is not a remaster this is a REMAKE. I'm literally shocked how this game looks on a switch even connected to a 65Oled screen. Retro Studios are without a doubt one of the best developers in the world, I don't think nobody will believe this is a switch game , definitely they did sort of black magic to make this happen at 60fps, simply stunning.

    This game is just amazing, they really knocked it out of the park with the updated visuals. Simply one of, if not the best looking game on the switch. The gameplay still holds up to this day. This is my favorite video game of all time

    When I played this game 20 years ago, I knew I was playing something special. 20 years later, this masterful remaster proves Metroid Prime truly is one of the greatest of all time. You simply should not miss this if you appreciate the video game medium.

    This game was already awesome in 2002, but with the updated graphics, physics, and control options, this has become the best way to experience this game! I don't know how Retro Studios handle to get this running on a Nintendo Switch.

    Metroid Prime on the Gamecube is my favorite game of all time, and one that I've beaten countless times. The remaster truly does it justice; what an awesome game to have on the switch. Here's hoping we get the same treatment for prime 2.

    You get to play again a game that back then and still considered a breakthrough in 2002 in the Metroid series departing from the 2D to a 3D world a beautiful achievement. Now that game is remastered for old and for the new players that has never played the Prime Trilogy. Highly recommended for those Switch players that couldn't get their hands on Callisto Protocol and Dead Space.

    This game was a easy win for Nintendo. It is a masterpiece which a lot of modern players didn't have the opportunity to play. The graphics are updated and the game got really beautiful. Besides that, it runs softly at 60 fps. Totally recommended.

    Simply fantastic Remaster. The twin stick + Gyro controls are so well done the gameplay is now faster. The visuals are clean and the framerate is locked at a rock solid 60. This is still very much the original game so it speaks for itself, and with all the effort put into modernizing it, I'd say its deserves a shot at GOTY.

For them to be bring it back in the modern age is amazing and $40 for a remaster and a game that broke the evolution for Metroid that is a steal!     A phenomenal masterpiece. Better than the original in every way, Metroid Prime Remastered is a beautifully constructed exploration/action game with an immense lore hidden in every room. This is the gold standard of video games.

    Most of the negative reviews here are by Steam Deck owners and Nintendo haters. Don’t read those, they’re irrelevant! The game plays amazing! Would even say better than back on the GameCube! It looks way better too! Such a fun time with this gem!

    Definitely recommend this game to anyone who’d love to experience an amazing game!

    It's a good game. It's pheonomenal immersive journey with great sense of isolation. But there is some problems with the game. Boring bosses, very badly done backtracking sometimes(Chozo Artifacts for example) and overall really outdated combat makes this game unenjoyable to play. But it's still better, than most games nowadays. 2D Metroids always were much better in terms of gameplay, butIt's a good game. It's pheonomenal immersive journey with great sense of isolation.     This game is fantastic. 60fps dual analogue supper, gyro support if you prefer that, Wii style controls, whatever you want you get it. They gave tons of accessibility options, and they fully rebuilt and redid the assets, this is really more of a remake than a remaster. 10/10.

    JUEGAZO !!! Un Remaster que mas bien parece un Remake, excelente el trabajo que ha hecho Retro Estudio con este juego. Gráficamente perfecto y con unos 60 FPS estables todo el tiempo. La verdad muy contento con el juego y se lo recomiendo a todos !!!

    It's literally just better than the masterpiece it already was. Nothing else to say, get it if you love Metroid, get it if you haven't played it yet, JUST GET IT. It's worth its price and I don't care what crybabies have to say about it.

    I am aware that this review might be hated by some, but I can only review the game based on my experience. Before now, I've only played one game in the Prime trilogy, that being Corruption, and that was a very long time ago. With the release of this remaster, I saw a perfect opportunity to dive in and really see this first game in the series for what it is.

With the release of this remaster, I saw a perfect opportunity to dive in and really see this first game in the series for what it is.

    Metroid Prime Remastered is good. Its not fantastic, and most of the reason for that is because it's still Metroid Prime. I had no experience with the original, but I trust the long time fans when they say that it looks beautiful compared to the original, and yes it does look great either way. While I find it difficult to directly criticise the movement, I believe that it is at fault not because it's bad, but because the world feels like it is designed to be as purposefully obstructive and tedious as possible.

    Many parts of Prime confuse me: many doors require specific weapons to unlock which is just time wasted, many essential items are located stupidly far away from any travel points meaning you have to go through a lot of already completed area to reach them, and the game is excessively terrible when it comes to backtracking for upgrades. Numerous times in my playthrough I reached an area, had no idea what to do, and eventually got told to go to the other end of the world to collect 1 item so I could progress just that little bit further... only to have the exact same thing happen to me again 20 minutes later. The wonder and magic of the world drained out of me, as I was travelling through these areas dozens of times just to get a random upgrade that let me then get stuck a little later. It's as if the placement of these absolutely necessary to beat the game upgrades was just chosen at complete random, with no thought as to how the player might figure it out.

    Combat feels extremely awkward to me, since I feel that the two best examples of the games combat are the first couple of hours of the game, and the game's final boss. Outside of that, combat became little more than an irritating practice of tedium rather than something I had to care about. Maybe the only real exception to that would be a couple of the other bosses, but after the first couple of hours of gameplay I just found myself not caring for the combat, and simply walking through as many rooms as fast as I could because the combat wasn't worth it and didn't provide me any extra benefit. Enemies that require specific visors or beams aren't harder, but just more tedious because you have to press extra buttons to kill them. I really felt like the final boss was the only thing to get the idea of different beams in combat right, and then it **** it up with the visors shortly thereafter.

    This review might seem absurdly negative, so I want to end off talking about stuff I do like: the start of the game is brilliant. Between the frigate tutorial and the first 3 or so areas, everything works fantastically, and truly shows the potential of Metroid Prime. It is unfortunate then that the game did away with exploring new environments or places you felt like you shouldn't be like in Metroid Fusion, for simply going through the same areas a dozen times over. The parts that make up Metroid Prime are all fantastic, but it takes more than raw ingredients to bake a cake.    … Expand

    Holds up looks great sounds better and cheep this is a great deal. Enjoy your time on talon 4. It has its flaws to bed sure but anything does if you look hard enough. Good games are so rare these days. Enjoy.

    Simply the best remaster ever made. So much time given to remastering art, sound and effects, yet entire original game left intact. The entire gaming community across every platform should look at how Retro Studios and their support teams accomplished this.

    Absolutely beautiful remake with options for however you prefer to play. I would've preferred the trilogy, but this is the 2nd best game in the trilogy and I'm very happy to see this remastered. One of the biggest reasons is because the Switch is much, MUCH more popular than the GameCube. I'm sure this will get the Prime series in more hands than ever before. Welcome new Metroid fans!

    Honestly thought this was going to be a simple upscaling and done. But nope you can tell they put care into this game to make sure everything just runs as best as possible. Never got to play Metroid Prime as a kid, parents wouldn’t get me a game cube. But as an adult who has been waiting for this games to come out. I could not be happier.

    Jogo Incrível para a época que saiu e foi transportado para os dias atuais de forma perfeita e primorosa como todos os jogos da Retro Studios! Efeitos de luz e sombra muito bem aplicados, geometria refeita em todos os ambientes, gameplay nova, enfim recomendo a todos os amantes de Metroid!

    Game makers: take note. Metroid Prime Remastered is a masterclass in how to modernize a masterpiece. Twenty years after the series made the transition to 3D, this remains a classic that has stood the test of time. The updated visuals prove that with some optimization and visual tricks, the Switch is really capable of delivering great games. In fact, this is one of prettier – if not the prettiest –Switch games to date.

    A classic returns in Metroid Prime Remastered. A complete visual overhaul makes the world of the game look better and more detailed than ever before. A new dual-stick control scheme makes the game approachable and palatable for new players, while veterans can opt for controls that mimic the original. Underneath it all, though, the masterpiece that is Metroid Prime Remains unchanged. Some more quality of life improvements could perhaps have been made, but it is a tiny complaint for a near-perfect remaster.
