Still one of the best stealth games of recent years and an accomplished 2D platformer in its own right, with a near perfect balance of depth, accessibility, and bloodshed.

Mark of the Ninja Remastered is an utterly stellar stealth game and, six years on, it’s lost none of the magic that made the original such a critical darling. A strong art direction, engaging story, well-paced open gameplay, and a slew of extra content all combine to make for a near-flawless experience that you certainly won’t want to miss out on. We’d give this game a high recommendation to all Switch owners; it’s the best stealth game money can buy in the Switch library, and one of the best ones in any console library.

Aside from some small control issues mostly stemming from the fact that multiple functions are tied to the same button, Mark of the Ninja Remastered is excellent. It’s a smartly-made stealth game that oozes style while being packed with gameplay variety and depth. Playing this 2012 release today made me wary that it might show its age, but the amazing thing is that in 2018, this game feels extremely fresh. This ninja has been hiding in the shadows, waiting to strike on Switch, and the results are fantastic.

Beautifully animated and a dream to play, Mark of the Ninja: Remastered rightfully stands next to the greats of the stealth genre. Intelligent design choices build the foundation to what is one of this generations best releases, let alone remasters.

Mark of the Ninja Remastered is a great stealth game that fits nicely as a portable time-killer. The gameplay takes every stealth trick from Metal Gear Solid’s book and translates them into two-dimensions wonderfully well. With that said, if stealth isn’t your bag then this game probably won’t be either as the over-reliance on its wonderfully implemented sneak system may feel a bit too repetitive for some. However, mastering a level with an objective in mind did make me feel like the badass ninja that I’ve always wanted to be.

Controls are ultra responsive and it's a delight to play this game.
I'm a bit clumsy and have a tendency to forget buttons control when I am being chased by a horde of soldiers... but that's on me. And that was my only issue with Mark of the Ninja: Remastered, which was not the game's fault :D

Great game. The gameplay, sound and visuals are excellent. The story and voice acting are well put. Love the stealth action and the combat.Great game. The gameplay, sound and visuals are excellent. The story and voice acting are well put. Love the stealth action and the combat. Love the dungeon/plataforming part. I gave an 8 score because of the control scheme. Using the same button (B) for jumping and grabbing could be extremely difficult and confusing when plataforming causing unnecessary death, specially when dealing with lasers. I found it frustrating and tedious at times. Other than that the game is totally excellent. Expand
