    This game is definitely one if not the best looking games released on Switch. Lights, shadows, colors and most of the scenes are absolutely stunning. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Switch is capable for that level of graphics. Also the amount of details the developers put into the level’s environment is crazy huge. Also the amount of details the developers put into the level’s environment is crazy huge. Another very well thought part of the game is music. It helps to develop an atmosphere which is on point. The difficulty level could be debatable, however I enjoyed the game not being too competitive. This is an adventure that let’s you relax while laying in the bed. Moreover difficulty level combined with simple mechanics creates a pretty low entrance level to the game. This allowed my non-gamer girlfriend to complete half of the game in a few days. However this also introduces another side of the medal: simple mechanics results in overall gameplay being repetitive. The fight strategies for bosses differ a little, but eventually boil down to the same move set. Also the game makes you go back a few times to the levels you cleared previously. This stretches the play time in a really weak way. Another point is that the game raises difficulty not by introducing fresh mechanics or new types of enemies, but just by raising the number of last. It makes the experience a little frustrating and you just want to finish the fight as soon as possible to progress further.

    For me it took around 18 hours of relaxed playing to complete 100% of the game and I would say I have enjoyed it. Definitely a must play for every Switch owner. Even though the game does not have any replay value at all, the general experience worth your time.

    + de juwelen zijn goed verstopt

    +/- de boos lopen naar een andere kamer als je foute object checked. je kunt alleen de rumble/ de G-00 gebruiken. de boos hebben een enhached moveset

    + de verdiepingen zijn zo tof en uniek dat de meeste hun sequel mogen krijgen van mij

    - sommige vloeren zijn te kort/ doen niet genoeg met hun thema

    +/- je keert soms terug naar vorige verdiepingen. buiten de vijanden verandert er niks. het had tof geweest als ze ze die vloeren zouden uitbreiden en meschien een uniek spook daar. ze doen exact dit in de ketelruimte (zonder een 2de uniek spook) maar ik vind het niet zo erg. het verlengt een game die anders te kort zou zijn

    + de bazen zijn een highlight

    + de muziek is een banger. specifiek de ketelruimte, dat nummer zit vast in mijn hoofd en blijft terug komen als ik aan deze game denk

    - de superspookzuiger theme verpest de zeldzame momenten omdat het het enige is van alles op mijn Switch waar ik de volume voor moet verlagen. dat en de boo theme

    +/- de game heeft toffe achievements maar sommige zitten achter online en de meeste achievements zijn verstopt , dus je weet niet wat je moet doen

    + de combat is satisfying

    + je moveset voelt compleet. deze game maakt het moeilijk om terug te gaan naar Luigi's Mansion 2

    +/- de vijanden zijn gevarieerd. maar ik vind dat ze creatiever konden zijn (het zijn spoken, dieren en bezeten objecten). hadden ze maar gebruik gemaakt van de gevarieerde thema's

    conclusie:
    deze game zou de beste in de serie zijn voor mij als ze sommige verdiepingen langer hadden gemaakt. maar deze game is nog altijd een sterke aanrader

    Very fun but some puzzles are a bit too hard so hard that I had to use a youtube guide to beat it but the graphics are stunning and there is the scarescraper which is excellent but if you are ready to use your brain or use a guide then I recommend it

    This games charm shines through the level design and characters, I found catching ghosts to be while repetitive, enjoyable. My issues with this game are that the middle section drags on for way to long, the water level is one of the most unenjoyable parts of any game I've played, and that once you complete the game you cant go back into any of the levels.

    Quite a step forward for the series, though, it is still not back on its feet. Maybe it's because I'm older than a lot of Switch players now, but I played Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube when it first launched in 2001. It was quite an understated title, and it didn't get the greatest of reviews, but my cousins and I loved it. It was never really a "survival horror" game by any means, butQuite a step forward for the series, though, it is still not back on its feet. Maybe it's because I'm older than a lot of Switch players now, but I played Luigi's Mansion on the Gamecube when it first launched in 2001. It was quite an understated title, and it didn't get the greatest of reviews, but my cousins and I loved it. It was never really a "survival horror" game by any means, but the creepiness was there at times, and the portrait ghosts were really interesting and fun.

    But, see, Dark Moon is where Luigi's Mansion seemed to derail. I didn't like it. The graphics were okay, but it's like the franchise went way off in a separate direction than where it started. Sure, there were new features, but it lacked the charm that the first one had, and the mission-based level progression overall broke the immersion.

    Fast forward to now, I see the trailer for this game, and even though it had the graphics of Dark Moon and the ghosts from said game returning, knowing the whole game was set in one "mansion," or hotel in this game's case, had me in more optimistic spirits as the lack of this broke the immersion in the last game. The dark light returning and all those newer features were fine with me and were kind of like icing on the cake.

    When I first started up this game, I was in love. It was almost like Luigi's Mansion was back on track. The whole hotel seemed to run together and going up from the parking deck to first and second floors seamlessly made me feel so happy; however, this excitement seemed to end rather quickly for me. No, the game doesn't turn into a mission based progression, but the floors begin to lose continuity. See, in the first game everything takes place in a mansion. You never seem to feel like that atmosphere is lost. In this game, each of the floors begin to become drastically different, and that would be okay if it never lost sight of where it was going. I mean a pyramid and a ghost ship inside of a hotel? That makes literally no sense.

    Those nonsensical things along with the absence of ghosts with a personality and backstory like the portrait ghosts of the first game just make this a "good" outing rather than a great return for the series. Sure, it's a step forward from Dark Moon, but it's still hard for me to recommend at full console game price. I just hope that the series regains some of the things that made it so beloved and special in the first place in future outings.

Those that enjoyed the exhilarating feel of reeling a particular pesky ghost will be ultimately disappointed as the introduction of the new "slam" ability trivializes most combat sections in the game, not only that it also completely underminds what made the combat so special to begin with. Aside from a dumbed down, basic combat system, LM3 has a weird over emphasis on puzzle solving. While these puzzles can be occasionally clever, they may leave you wondering how they belong in a Luigi's Mansion game to begin with. I often found myself going through long stretches of gameplay eagerly anticipating to see what ghost might be lurking around the next corner only to play through a series of puzzles, ranging from clever at best and obtuse at worst. All in all, Luigi's Mansion 3 is a solid game, and fairs much better when looked at as a stand alone experience. As a sequel, it falls just a tad short.

    It's a fun experience, love the style of the animation and the theme, my only gripe is the controls, they are god awful! and this becomes very apparent during boss fights with any kind of precision aiming.
    One thing I absolutely hate in games is forced unavoidable backtracking, its a way dev's use to prolong the playtime and reuse levels, there's some of this in the title.

    Good to play with girlfriend / friends. I found it too casual to enjoy it while playing alone. It's all about exploration and didn't fell in love with the gameplay mechanics. Very easy too.

    It is a worth playing game. Fun enough to play until the end, not so good replay value. Interesting mechanics, a funny story, and good animations. On the contrary, it has a very low difficulty, puzzles easy to solve, and gameplay at some point becomes repetitive.

    Great atmosphere, great level design. Gooigi is a nice addition as well. Some of the controls in the game are game breaking though. The boss fight with the rubber duck is absolutely frustrating, which kinda ruins the fun of the game.

    Luigi's mansion 3 didn't offer me any challenge, either in combat or exploration of the hotel, as I was finding gems and boos with no effort at all. It was so easy that it felt boring to play. Nevertheless, I have to say it is a very polished game and I'd recommend it for kids or less experienced players.

    the game was visually stunning but i found it short i spent 15 hours on it and it felt unfinished and maybe because i dont have people to play with but still get it only if you like the other installments in the franchise

    Debo decir que es el primer Luigi´s Mansion que juego. El juego me ha gustado, tanto la ambientación (es muy bonito), los personajes (los fantasmas molan mucho y son divertidos), más acostumbrado a ver a Mario en todos los sitios como protagonista me ha parecido interesante poder centrarme y conocer mejor a su hermano. Peeeero, a partir de las 10 horas el juego me ha empezado a parecerDebo decir que es el primer Luigi´s Mansion que juego. El juego me ha gustado, tanto la ambientación (es muy bonito), los personajes (los fantasmas molan mucho y son divertidos), más acostumbrado a ver a Mario en todos los sitios como protagonista me ha parecido interesante poder centrarme y conocer mejor a su hermano.     This game drove me wild! Don't get me wrong i enjoyed it, it made me laugh and it was great to look at.
    I am glad i played it but the game play was so frustrating, repetitive and infuriating at times! (that damn cat!)
    The final boss is an absolute nightmare, good luck getting Luigi to aim where you want him to ;)

    This game is very straight forward and pretty easy to beat and capture not only the ghosts but the bosses too without taking any damage at all, the cut scenes seem pointless and slow, but I did enjoy my time playing this game.     This game could be one of the best games on Switch, but mini map cover all good experience. It’s RED, and when you play this red “mini” map is seems be more important than anything else. It’s also not “mini” it’s relatively big, especially on handheld mode.
    This’s a big UX/UI bug, and for me this game is unplayable and I want return it.

    Luigi's Mansion 3 is the pinnacle of the series in nearly every aspect, the art design is fantastic, the areas and animations are delightful and so full of life, even adding some great extra modes for basically no reason, but hey they're still really fun!

    The new mechanics the game introduces to the series are ones I hope become mainstays as they're so well used in both puzzle solving and combat. With 15 floors and a bunch of gems hidden on each one, I'd say it's well worth the $60 price tag. Compared to previous entries the combat takes a bit of a backseat for more puzzle solving, whether or not that's a good or bad thing is completely up to you.

    However I have one major complaint: the combat is............eh. The new slam mechanic is really cool in puzzles but in combat it takes all the tension, strategy, and difficulty out of the battles with the standard baddies. in Dark Moon and the original you have to pull back in the right direction hard enough and in dark moon's case, use B to dodge other ghosts and charge up your pulse meter. In 3, you just stun them, suck them up, and mash A.

    You use this to slam ghosts into each other making the battles even easier and even when the slam runs out they run away so slowly that it's beyond easy to stun them before they actually hide. Combat is no longer fun.

    The next thing I wanted to talk about is scarescraper, a series of 5-20 floors where you and 3 other players have to complete an objective in a certain time frame to move up to the next floor, fail one and you go back to the bottom. This mode is really fun... for the first 15 rounds maybe. But then you realize catching all the ghosts is the objective 60% of the time and remember what I said about the combat?

    The other objectives like finding all the toads and collecting all the money is way more fun.

    Scream park is the last point I want to touch on, it's like 8 player mario party minigames with luigi's mansion 3 controls and mechanics in it. From what I've played it's super fun, even with the uninteresting combat playing against another team to see who can catch the most ghosts in the time limit is just plain old fun.

    If I could, I'd give this one a 7.5 out of 10

There is no real incentive for finding any secrets/collectibles/money, despite exploration being one of the core pillars of the game. I personally found that there was no real sense of progression either, as I felt the levels could be played in any order and players would more or less get the same exact experience. Because of all these things, I personally felt a high lack of investment in the game.

    All in all, this game feels more suited to be a 3D environment art showcase than a game. The magic wears off after the first couple of hours. The good aspects of the game are extremely well done, but other mediocre aspects bring enjoyment down by a good amount.

Te hace pasar varias horas entreteniéndote como solo los exclusivos de Nintendo lo saben hacer. Es un juego que obligatoriamente se debería jugar si tienes una Switch. Sin embargo, no es un juego perfecto o que merezca tener un 9 o 10 como Zelda BOTW o Super Mario Oddysey. Más allá del título ("Mansion"), el juego se desarrolla en un hotel muy colorido e iluminado que, a diferencia del primer juego de la saga, no hay ningún elemento de terror o que de miedo: La música de este juego es entretenida y no tenebrosa o macabra como el LM1, los fantasmas son seres agradables que dan hasta risa incluso en el mismo momento que los vas a terminar de aspirar, algunos jefes son muy sencillos en niveles avanzados, en fin... Dos cosas más que tampoco me cuadraron y por lo cual no le pongo 9 o 10 es que muchas veces la cinemática se conecta a una escena de juego pero se interrumpe la continuidad del estado de las cosas y se genera una distorsión ya que si teníamos a Luigi corriendo o en un lugar determinado, en el vídeo se va ver eso cortado (lo mismo y peor se nota si estaba Gomiluigi). Esto es algo que no pasó por ejemplo con Zelda BOTW donde la cinemática respetaba hasta el traje de Link. Lo segundo que no me cuadró y que era algo que no requería mayor esfuerzo era el hecho de que no te permitía omitir la cinemática que antes ya habías visto previamente a enfrentar a un jefe con quien habías perdido. Cada vez que perdías con un jefe (especialmente con aquellos difíciles), tenías que ver nuevamente y de manera completa toooda la cinemática, algo que sí me parece inconcebible. Expand

Add in some frustratingly uninituitive boss fight mechanics and these abrupt Polterkitty detours and I found myself frustrated and wanting the game to end.

    This game is really creative which is where I’m allocating most of its points, along with how good it looks and the good soundtrack. Each floor of the hotel is a different theme so you’ll always encounter something different and get to interact with things in different ways which makes you think.

    For me it loses points because aiming is super frustrating, most of the bosses are just annoying, and fighting ghosts is repetitive and boring. But all in all it is a good game and I spent 20 hours on it so I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth and enjoyed playing it for the most part!

The final boss Boo battle is boring, repetitive, inaccurate and left such a bad taste in the mouth. I love the game, profoundly hate the final bosses to a point I dont even want to play it again.     It is fine until they switch over to invisible lasers and force a broken mechanic on you. Aiming Luigi’s vacuum also is a major pain.

    The game is certainly high quality: tons of detail, looking great even in handheld mode.
    however I didn't find it very enjoyable: it has limited gameplay, there's not much challenge and not much replayability.

The game hands out a ranking after completion, and all the ranking takes into account is total money held at end of game, which is silly and undermines the game's exploratory nature. Expand

    Solo encuentro dos problemas en esta tercera entrega. Y es una pena para mí, porque en general me gustan bastante muchas cosas del juego.
    Por un lado, el control a la hora de apuntar es horrible. El giro tipo tanque con camara fija debería estar prohibido por ley. No siempre es molesto, pero cuando lo es, puede llegar a ser desesperante.
    Por otro lado los jefes finales tienen demasiados
    Solo encuentro dos problemas en esta tercera entrega. Y es una pena para mí, porque en general me gustan bastante muchas cosas del juego.
    Por un lado, el control a la hora de apuntar es horrible. El giro tipo tanque con camara fija debería estar prohibido por ley. No siempre es molesto, pero cuando lo es, puede llegar a ser desesperante.
    Por otro lado los jefes finales tienen demasiados altibajos. Por lo general su diseño es original e interesante. Sin embargo, mientras algunos son absurdamente fáciles, otros son dificiles, no por requerir habilidad para derrotarlos, si no porque el tiempo necesario hasta darte cuenta de qué tienes que hacer, resulta repetitivo y poco inspirado. Con especial mención del horrible diseño del final del juego, facilmente el peor final en mecánicas que he jugado nunca.
    Me sigue gustando, y a la vez me ha decepcionado tras terminarlo.

    This game adheres mostly to a formula of "follow this linear path and suck up everything you see" interspersed with uninspired puzzles. Busting ghosts almost seems like an afterthought. Frustration is plentiful in the form of forced backtracking and janky game mechanics.

    It's still a solid title, but it's the weakest of the trilogy and one of the weaker first party Switch titles. Not a terrible game by any means; just terribly disappointing.

    Vacuum Cleaning is fun. It has some interesting mechanics, both in the vacuum cleaner upgrades as well as other skills of Luigi.

    Difficulty increases after a few levels/floors, rather too hard for kids. Many puzzles are fun, but some are hard to figure out on your own, which is a bit frustrating.



    The controls are rather poor, which could have been done much better.

    Gameplay: While the gameplay is fun at first, the lack of depth really starts to make the game feel dragged out towards the second half. Most of Luigi's abilities are unlocked by the time you reach the main floors which causes the game to feel very repetitive. Most of the puzzles also feel very uninspired and similar as the game drags on. The lack of upgrading equipment and abilities causes the game to squeeze out all of its creative ideas within the first few floors. However, Nintendo still does a great job and making most boss fights feel original and fun. While they are not as creative as some of their other titles, most are still fun.

    While this game does have some charming moments, it definitely is disappointing compared to the previous two titles. If your looking for a short and easy game for the switch, this game is perfect, however I would strongly recommend to buy this game on sale.

    Its definitely worth playing, but absolutely not worth replaying it. Slow paced and extremely linear.Game feels way too drawn out for the sake of making it longer. Game is incredibly easy even for a luigis mansion game.

    Beautiful, but so frustrating. Most of the game is casual and fun, until you get to a boss where the difficulty is cranked up to 11 most times. Controlling that floaty was nigh impossible.

    Took awhile for game play to get started. Seemed like it was going to be a big game. However the end felt rushed. Beating the hotel owner. Then immediately king boo. They could have done a little more with the ending of the story line. Instead of saving Mario and princess in 1 shot. Total disappointment.

    The game becomes and feels longer than is supposed to. I worked myself to finished it a 100%
    Overall is not terrible but I will not replay it completely ever.

    Second, I don't feel any needs to complete the game or even I want to do it. It's different kind of feeling with Mario Odyssey and Kirby TFL. Luigi doesn't have any clear indication of how the completion process works. Is it just gems? No, there are several things you have to do to unlock a specific achievements which not clearly presented for players. There's also no bar or percentage or even a dedicated menu to look at our achievements, which makes me feels "for what I'm trying to explore the mansion and look for all the gems?" There's no even ANY rewards for collecting those gems.

    Third and the last one, the game almost has zero guide. If you don't experience this issue, then good for you. For me, I end up feeling lost and confused a lot in the game. I don't know how to reach certain room, I don't know what I miss to progress in that level to encounter the boss and most of it I'm confused how to beat the boss. The game is not consistent with its own mechanic in the game. You introduce us that sunglasses and shield are a thing to repel flashlight so you have to create burst to knock that off from the ghost. But for the boss at floor 6, he has a shield always intact no matter what I do and you know what? He is somehow vulnerable to light while charging even thou he still has the shield while charging. How I suppose to know that? All bosses are so random and didn't stick to certain standard with the game mechanics that they introduce to you. So many trial and error in the game which should not be the case if the game creates a clear mechanics and be consistent about it.

The puzzles are sometimes obvious, sometimes completely unintuitive, and you just walk around vacuuming everything. The bossfights are the only places where you can expect decent gameplay, and even some of them are very unintuitive. How can you figure out that for the cat boss, you have to turn around and stand still? Other fights, like the shark boss, are very good and use the mechanics in a clever way, but the quality is just too inconsistent.

    The gameplay is often very boring, and there is little reason for a second player. Still, some sections, like the last bossfight before the final boss, are designed for two players, and playing it alone feels awful. I played this game almost entirely alone, because due to the controls, you cannot play it using a single Joycon, so the second player needs another controller.

    The enemies are very easy and repetitive, and the combat is not very much fun. Money is useless, you only spend it on extra lifes you barely need. The collectibles are so bland that I didn't feel like collecting them. The true collectibles are the little hidden places and secrets you can unlock, like a hidden submarine. That's what made me finish the game, but now that I've beaten it, I cannot recommend it, there are far too many too good Switch games out there.

While the game does offer some new interesting gameplay mechanics, and the graphics look great, the overall game is ridiculously tedious. So many times, you're forced to backtrack to levels you've already beaten, chase similar enemies multiple times and puzzles that aren't creative enough to callI have to say that this installation of the Luigi's Mansion franchise is pretty lackluster. About a few months prior to LM3 coming out I played LM on gamecube for the first time. Perhaps it was rose tinted glasses and the fact that I never played a LM game before, but holy **** the GC game was amazing! It was interesting and new gameplay that I never experienced. The puzzles at times required me to google the walkthrough but it wasn't hard to figure out with trial and error.

    Unlike Luigi's Mansion 3...

    LM3 is very beautiful, the art and music is incredible. The problem with it is I find myself having to google nonstop to figure out wtf to do next.

    Example: currently I am stuck at the 13th floor. There is an indent on the desk and a flashing green light on a water fountain. Flashing my light on the fountain does NOTHING. Ringing the bell on the desk does NOTHING. There is a stairwell that leads to a pool and the door will not open due to towels in the way.

    This is the summary of the game. Puzzles that don't make sense and are difficult for no reason. No direction on where to go. Maybe it's the white claw speaking but I find it incredible that a game from the gamecube era was way more enjoyable and sensical than a game from 2019.

    I think it has potential, but they missed the mark on this one.

Do you enjoy games where you gradually improve by learning new mechanics—rather than fight the poor implementation of 2-3 core moves? This ain't it. Expectations were high based on metascore and the “Nintendo” badge, but this is second/third-tier stuff from the big N.

    I like Dark Moon on 3DS, but this part didn't appeal to me. Maybe because 3DS was more of a portable console, and the style of this game suited me for such portable and occasional playing. In LM3 I do not feel it at all, I miss the diorama effect present in DM. The game is certainly suitable for family gaming, but it's definitely worse game than its predecessors.

There is an absolutely terrible level where you are in the water on an innertube that was more frustrating than anything I experienced in Elden Ring. This is my first Luigi's Mansion game, and I have no interest in playing another.

Es gab für mich auch keinen Anreiz die Bu-Hus oder auch die Edelsteine, die auf jedem Stockwerk versteckt sind zu suchen. Insgesamt war ich froh, als das Spiel vorbei war. Leider. Ich hatte mir wirklich mehr erhofft. Die Bosskämpfe waren für mich in der Regel auch langweilig gestaltet. Des Weiteren fand ich die Steuerung zum Teil überladen und schlecht umgesetzt. Ich sage nur das Level in der Kanalisation. Ein Grauen. Daher bedauerlicherweise nur 6 von 10 möglichen Punkten.

    Ich denke, es war mein erstes und letztes Luigis Mansion.

    One of the most boring games I've ever played. Or maybe my expectations were way too high. I completed the game in February 2022. The optics are pretty good, even if the handheld version looks significantly worse. Other games can do that better. The whole game was too repetitive for me. The actions you take. Sucking, pounding, blowing away, etc. aren't really fun in and of themselves. There was also no incentive for me to look for the Bu-Hus or even the gems hidden on each floor. Overall I was happy when the game was over. Unfortunately. I was really hoping for more. The boss fights were usually boring for me too. I also found the controls to be overloaded and poorly implemented. I'm just saying the level in the sewers. A horror. Therefore, unfortunately only 6 out of 10 possible points.

    I think it was my first and last Luigis Mansion.

    Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a third person action game whose mechanics don’t really cleanly map onto a genre, being some weird combination of third person shooter and action game. You play as Luigi, Mario’s brother, and must rescue all your buddies from a big bad ghost in a haunted hotel who has captured them all, but the mechanics are wildly different from any sort of Mario game, as the gameplayLuigi’s Mansion 3 is a third person action game whose mechanics don’t really cleanly map onto a genre, being some weird combination of third person shooter and action game. You play as Luigi, Mario’s brother, and must rescue all your buddies from a big bad ghost in a haunted hotel who has captured them all, but the mechanics are wildly different from any sort of Mario game, as the gameplay centers around sucking up ghosts and other environmental objects using a vacuum cleaner, rather than platforming – indeed, Luigi can hardly jump at all.

    The game is closest to a third person shooter; you use the left analog stick to move around and the right one to control your orientation. You have the ability to suck and blow using your vacuum cleaner, along with a flashlight that can temporarily stun ghosts, an alternate flashlight that reveals hidden objects, and a suction cup gun that can be used to pull on things. The core gameplay plays a bit like a third person shooter, as you try and orient Luigi in the right direction to aim and fire your vacuum cleaner or the various other things, but the range is short on most of the items and the broad suck of the vacuum cleaner means you don’t need a lot of precision.

    This is a good thing, because the controls are rather awkward.

    Third-person shooters follow players around in an over-the-shoulder kind of way because it makes it much easier to tell what you’re aiming at; however, because of the distant fixed camera in Luigi’s Mansion, it is easy to be oriented the wrong way and not do what you’re trying to do. This isn’t so bad while exploring the environment, but can be a bit frustrating in some situations where you rapidly need to switch directions and aim at something else. Luigi also doesn’t move around very quickly, which can make backtracking a bit tedious. This game does not have the fluidity of the mainline Mario games; instead, Luigi is a cowering, slow-moving creature (which is played for laughs a bit when you eventually rescue Mario and he starts jumping around like he does in his games).

    The one thing I haven’t mentioned so far is Gooigi, a goo-construct clone of Luigi that you can spit out of his backpack after the first few stages. This adds an additional layer to the game, as Gooigi can squeeze through grates and gaps that Luigi cannot and ignore spikes and similar hazards, and also allows you to do some two-person puzzles by yourself, as you can have your goo duplicate go stand on a button or pull on a switch or whatever. This leads to some of the more interesting puzzles and boss fights in the game, as you switch between the pair to accomplish your tasks.

    Unfortunately, the game shows you all of these things in the first third of the game, and the same is true of its enemies as well – there just isn’t a broad variety of them. There’s half a dozen main enemy types, but you beat almost all of them by flashing them with your flashlight then sucking up their ghostly tail, then smashing them repeatedly into the ground (sometimes hitting other ghosts in the process). The game tries to mix this up a little by having some enemies carry items, but the limited number of abilities you have means that these are all overcome either by sucking off the item or by using a “hop” (bursting your vacuum cleaner straight down) to blow stuff off, or using the suction cup to pull it away from them. You see all of these tricks early as well, and the game doesn’t really come up with anything new.

    This is a problem, as it means that as you progress through most of the game, you’re just seeing the same old stuff in new 3D environments. And while the levels are pretty, your limited ability suite means that everything ends up playing out very similarly, moving around rooms, sucking up all the objects in the environment, and solving the odd simple puzzle or mini-challenge, none of which are particularly difficult.

    The highlight of the game is the bosses, as there’s a reasonable variety of them (over 15 of them) and they all play out differently. They’re pretty short fights on the whole, but they all have unique designs and patterns, from a giant T-rex skeleton that chases you around to a ghost pirate shark that sometimes dives into its ship to try and eat you with the planking you’re standing on to a movie director who makes you fight Godzilla.

    The problem is that the game otherwise all too often feels like a chore. The game is actually quite short and pretty small physically – you could beat the whole thing in 10 hours if you cared to, but you will probably take twice that to actually do so if you actually try and find everything. But the game is mostly tedious, vacuuming up everything in each room and using the other tools as needed, which can take a while, as the rooms are environmentally rich, and yet feel overall unrewarding, as for all their visual splendor, they're mechanically similar.

    You can easily see the superiority of the first LM game when it comes to dark, complex halways that unlock certain sections and you're like how do i open this door and then you do and you got up a floor for example..find keys and unlock new areas that connect and your blown away where the games had mystery and eerie feeling leading to the next area. This one doesnt have any of that.

    -Controls are whacky, its so hard to shoot the plunger high up accurately or suck with the vaccum because for some reason it has a auto aim which turns Luigi is the wrong direction all the time, so frustrating because you consistently lose control of the vacuum.
    -Scarescraper feels very lackluster whats with only 3-4 ghosts and constant timer on, but its definetly fun to some extent but i liked Dark Moon better.
    -Screampark is a huge disappointment. very lackluster minigames with 2min timer (again with the timer) then when the game finishes you get a black screen that says Retry or Quit, i mean really ? No nothing, just.. that.

    LM1 was a good GC game (not perfect) and LM2 tried something new as an amazing handheld game with so much content and introduced Scarescraper which could easily be improved upon. LM3 not only doesnt manage that but does nothing new while recreating similar recipe but its just not as good.
    One of the few new things is Googi, so you can play the story co-op or different extra modes on the couch which is a fun addition. Or if you're playing by yourself you have to control 2 Luigi's while the other sleeps which is kinda weird but its fun. However it seems playing the game 2 player is the best fun to be had here.

    Overall verdict: Good graphics, entertaining yet ultra childish cinematics but game riddled with inaccurate auto-aiming, needlessly tough boss fights (onlt because of the controls) and a predictable yet underwhelming online MP while the game feeling incredibly rushed and lazy with just a new floor with barely any of them attached except the bottom ones (hence the rushed feeling i get from devs). Also the lack of spooky atmosphere, Luigi humming and just battling ghosts with analog instead of pressing A was sorely missing.

    Despite the many flaws i enjoy the game and for me, around the time Polterkitty arrived the gameplay started being alot more fun, some of the floors were good but it was such a bore to play through, i didnt get that feeling while playing the other 2 titles.

    My rating for it is actually age of target audience of this game. Poor art style, controls. Characters is not voiced, and you don't care about them at all. The game is not interesting. Dropped it after prologue. Will sell cartridge. Only for childs or Nintendo-slaves.

    This should be a good game but it was ruined by the horrible control/perspective.
    It's so frustrating that all the fun and satisfaction from puzzle solving and exploration are negated by the bad perspective control.

    Can be fun at times but you'll quickly be bored with its repetitive nature. Boss fights usually don't have complex mechanics at all but most of the difficulty will come from fighting with the frankly poor controls.

    Como fanatico del primer juego y segundo juego. Creo que nintendo le ha quitado a este juego la esencia de terror del primer juego y lo convirteron en un juego de puzzles y no de aventura como el primer juego, decepción total

    There's only one way to do everything in this game and if you don't see it, you'll waste your time and feel stupid.

    Very archaic way of making games to modern day standards.

    Where do these high ratings originate from?
    I understand now why the preview movie in the estore was so obfuscating.
    Don't waste your money time and expectations on it.
    It's not a platformer but a very boring kind of role playing game

    Game is nothing but visual fluff. Stripped of any challenge or thinking ability. Insultingly easy compared to the previous games and a waste of time that’s lazily expects your to rely on the online functionality for replay value. Disappointed they even made it.

I was very excited when everyone said this game was more like the original Luigi's mansion (the 5th best sold game on the NGC) than LM:Dark moon. LM:Dark moon was a sequel clearly made for a younger generation. This game imho is exactly like Dark moon. The only similarities to the first one I can see is that there are actual Boss battles (they suck though, so), and there is one building instead of multiple (which is overly compartmentalized, so it might as well be different buildings). The 2001 original had a thunderstorm going on in the background that added to the environment. The environment in this one is completely cartoonish, and I see no "scare" in this game. I wasn't even startled once. Nintendo, I know that you made kids games, but I have news; We aren't kids anymore. This isn't some Neverland dream. Less than 17% of your consumer base is under the age of 18. It's a poor decision to only target 17% of your fanbase. This game is made for players who have never played a Luigi's Mansion title before. The environment changes, but way too much. There's a pyramid in a hotel? Oh, and some Medieval Times BS. Also, where are the ghosts??? less than 2/3 of the rooms even have enemies in them. Luigi's Mansion is an ACTION/Adventure game, This game is a puzzle game made to look like Luigi's Mansion. Even when you are fighting, the combat is a joke. The ghosts basically sit there and try to get you to kill them. There's also no thought into the basic enemy design. No variety. Every time I smash ghosts into each other, I pretend the one begging for its life on the ground is the game devs. That, at least for me, has made the combat slightly more enjoyable. The flashlight is also another thing that I think hampered the experience. I liked having my flashlight either on or off. While off, It's a lot darker, but you won't spook ghosts. With the light on, it was easier to see and you can do certain things, but you also ran the risk of startling a ghost and them disappear. That added a bit more difficulty to the first one. Also, the keys. The keys in this game make it so linear. I loved when you had to go through the mansion to get the keys to the rooms. It added a bit of unpredictability to the game. This game, you will not get a key 3 rooms apart from the door it unlocks, let alone on a different floor. They put the floors out of order just to try to seem like they're mixing it up. The game focuses too much on environment. The environment does not even help the mood, it's just interactions with objects (however, the interacting is the only reason this is not a 0). There is also way too much hand holding in this game. I've looked at reviews where players were talking about how much they love the exploration, but I just don't see it. Every "secret" room or item seems like it's just handed to you on a silver platter. There is no sense of accomplishment, just pushing through the game until the end. The game feels like it should've come out on the Wii U (but honestly, I like the Wii U more than I liked this game.) This game has no difficulty whatsoever. I thought the 2001 release was too easy (Yes, as a child). I was very disappointed in the Hidden mansion because it makes your vacuum 1.5x stronger (Enemies do 2.0x damage, but if they never hit you to begin with, the Hidden mansion in NTSC version just makes the game easier.) As easy as the first one is, it is dark souls compared to this one. If Luigi's mansion on the NGC is for children, this game is for fetuses. It's actually very insulting. It's a spit in the face from Nintendo. The only reason I actually played the game past the first 6 floors is because it was $60. Each floor, I was waiting to give Nintendo a chance. Maybe this is when the game gets good, but I never saw that moment. I have beaten the original NGC title over 37 times (I love watching the number go up on my save file), and I have had the same amount of fun all 37 times. Each time I play this one, I want to turn it off and play the original. I thought this series was good, but it's starting to look like Luigi's Mansion was a one-hit-wonder. I probably won't even buy the 4th if they make one because each subsequent game seems to destroy the sanctity of the first game more and more. Mario is Missing was better than this.     Graphics are good which is expected for a Mario/Luigi game - I'll give the game that.

    Personally, I can't play over 30 minutes or continue further another floor/level without quitting from boredom then trying again later if I in the mood. That's how repetitive the gameplay feels. The first Luigi Mansion game in the series never made me feel this way. Luigi Mansion 3 makes not want to play or try Luigi Mansion 2 anymore.

    Last, Local Multiplayer is a thing for this game which i haven't tried so no comment on this.

    I haven't played this game for very long at all. The visuals, the sound, the sluggish controls, the whole vibe just made me so bored. I would have actually enjoyed the exercise of doing house chores more than I enjoyed playing this. I mean Pong is nearly 50 years old and I would have had more fun playing Pong for an hour.     Es un juego de nicho, no es para todo el público, es un 0 o un 10 en mi caso no me gusto para nada debido a que el personaje principal no me ofrece un carisma necesario como la ambientación se siente muy infantil , provocando esas sensación de gastar mi dinero en algo que no era igual a las otras dos entregas.

    This game is like not even exist in our lives, because it changes nothing except getting our -valuable free time-, which makes me super angry about it. Dear Nintendo, please don't believe the other reviews who say anything positive about it. It's all because the game has very good art and music. Believe me, this is not a good game at all.
